This is a very modern interpretation of jasmine sambac - quite sweet, even fruity, mildly spicy, and almost universally likable. Honestly, I don't understand the list of 'Cons' above - please allow me to comment on it here:
1. May not live up to the dreamy ocean connection expected - Ahem. It never even occurred to me to expect the 'dreamy ocean' or whatever...
2. May not suit all noses or preferences - Well, this statement applies to every fragrance ever produced.
3. Not everyone enjoys the scent of old wood and salt - But these notes are hardly detectable, because the sweet-fruity and spicy notes are pushed forward. It seems to me that the list of notes above is incomplete, because some juicy components are definitely missing.
4. Green, aldehydic, sharp vintage-like scent may not appeal to everyone - Absolutely not true! Are these people even smelling the same scent as me?!
5. Old-fashioned and musty jasmine - No, nope, never, in fact, it's the exact opposite.
I can only presume that some people write their reviews based on smelling some dodgy samples - either counterfeit, or perhaps wrongly labeled. Then AI muses over such comments and comes up with nonsense cited above.

A stunning jasmine scent. I felt rich wearing it. I was talking to someone and they commented that I was wearing a lovely perfume, and described it as 'wafts of wealth' which made me chuckle. I can't really distinguish the salty notes in it, I just get pure jasmine. Beautiful.

Ashore Amouage
(Store test, skin test)

First Impression

Beautiful green Jasmine, mild indolic.
Behide beautiful Jasmine, they was slight tint of laundry vibe. Remind me of Property of Aldehyde.
Beautiful indole jasmine merge with Laundry vibe over time.

Opening 8/10

As scent progress give impression of fleur de mantine, maison crivelli but jasmine is not abstract as FdM. Jasmin have more body and more indole than than FdM.

Seems to radiance, jump off my skin in very good manner. Seems to have good longevity, I like it tho.

Closing 8/10

Left with clean skin smell, jasmine gone. 6 hours-7 hours after test, it have done before,I don’t find this difference. Still solid scent from Amouage for white floral lover.

End, 7/10 (wish she impresses me more)..

I smelled this in boutique while looking for a summer jasmine, and I couldn't get it out of my head, so I bought it. I wore it at work today and could still smell it on my arm when I got home. I don't see anything vanillic in the notes, but what I got after the whole day was an almost vanilla-like base, which i think could be the sandalwood modified by the cardamom. The bulk of the fragrance is just a sunny jasmine, which in my mind is super uncommon, but it's like you smelled a beautiful jasmine perfume on a beach. incredible. No idea why people don't talk about this one more.

Anamandy

To date, I have never smelled a perfume with a prominent salt note that I have liked. That all changed with this. As soon as I sprayed this on, I am right back traveling through the islands and smelling the jasmine, which was in bloom everywhere I went, on the ocean breeze. I am totally amazed how this brought me right back there. This is headed right to the top of my Must Buy list.

Amazing jasmine scent which has a bitter shadow.

AnniePruana

This is the loveliest masterpiece in fragrance. Imagine the perfect walk amongst jasmine bushes in full bloom mixing with the nearby ocean breeze. This clean light floral brings you your fondest summer memories or to imagining you are on your fantasy vacation with the blue ocean view out your gorgeous open air balcony with jasmine vines all around the entry to your room. It's a magical treat.

Snob Smells

One of the prettiest Jasmine White Floral offerings on the market. Not indolic, not heady... just a very easy to wear white salty floral.

AMOUAGE Ashore
Mackenzie Reilly 2020
Feminine

Sometimes it’s difficult to find a realistic review of some Amouage’s perfumes. I think the reason for that is that people who love Amouage are always used to get something extraordinary, something special and/or something artistic. That’s why technically great is not enough and on the other hand some amazing scent is not so popular because it doesn’t meet the right people.

When I bought Ashore (blindly) I was thinking that it’s too cold weather for it. It didn’t really make any wow effect on me but mostly people like it in hot weather so I was thinking to wait next summer. Anyway I was spraying it on me the other day and I fell totally in love with it.

Beautiful bright and soft Jasmine which is not heady at all. It’s somewhat transparent and minimalistic, it’s even quite linear and easy. It feels fresh and warm and I feel that I have worn some Jasmine scent during the day, spent a beautiful sunny summer day on the beach and been swimming in a salty Mediterranean Sea. That’s how it smells - Jasmine with sun and clean sea water - solar notes and salty feeling. It’s beautiful. It’s like a scent of a mermaid. 🧜♀️

I think I will wear Ashore a lot during the next summer. The longevity is easily 12 hours and it’s not too strong, absolutely office safe.

Top: Pink Pepper, Cardamom Oil, Turmeric Leaf Oil
Heart: Jasmine Sambac Absolute, Solar Accord, Rose Absolute
Base: Ambergris Accord, Olibanum Hyperabsolute, Sandalwood Oil

Impeccable white linen suit.

Masterpiece! Can be a signature scent!
Long lasting and delicate, but with the character.

Anastasia.A

Starts fresh white floral, mainly jasmin, later becomes salty white floral. Easy to wear (thick white florals are dificult for me), simple, light. 6,5/10

Smeraldina77

What a lovely, creamy, aquatic - marine jasmine fragrance this is! I really love it! It is a jasmine perfume, yes, but to me it is really different from other jasmines I have, or tried in the past. This is a jasmine on the sea. The marine quality to me is quite prominent and creates a beautiful blend with the creamy, non indolic jasmine. It makes me think about summer, Mediterranean seaside with a light sea breeze and jasmine bushes all around. I don't understand those who are criticizing it for being boring or old fashioned... To me it is really quite unique, but, of course, everybody have a different nose.
I am looking forward to wearing it this spring and summer (luckily, I have found a bottle at a very good price). I live in the Netherlands and summer here is alas not very warm and sunny, but I am from the Italian coast, and to me this fragrance evokes past summer days near the sea... :)

Manepi

This makes a woman very very happy. It is almost soliflore yes but nothing quite gives out this pellucid swimming water vibe. Honour Woman is also white-floral-watery, but is in the way of its representation, the scent settles down as if you spooned down with your hands the face of serene water, and Ashore is a scent of water pictured with jasmine and without any typical aquatic note apparent. The detail in this perfume is not flamboyant but is there and I am a sucker for it.

Naders29

Beautiful jasmin

RiddlesKitty

Apart from the obvious jasmine, I'm getting quite a bit of fruitiness, maybe pear.

Whateverwhocares

Almost a ☹️. Just better than a laundry pod. This is worthy of a house like Thameen, not Amouge. Very inspiring blend tha might work on the right, beautiful woman's skin. But then again, what wouldn't?

sadiyam

basic jasmine

I'm wondering what disappeared quicker: my excitement for this scent or this scent from my skin. While it starts off nicely, Ashore soon turns into just another mundane white floral perfume. I think it might be a good choice for a woman in certain settings, but it's not something that I would recommend for a man.

Olgita

A salty jasmine. To me this is a scent with very dual and contrasting quality to it. On one hand, I can envision a wild sea shore (not a public beach) with salty air and light breeze, wild woody cliffs and narrow strip of sand and pebbles. On the other hand, there is a heavy dose of jasmine in this. And there was never any jasmine on the sea shores that I have been to and I just don’t associate jasmine with a sea shore. This makes it one of my least favorite Amouages. Not the one I reach for very often.

Edit: February 2024: I changed my mind. It is a wild sea shore in morning sunlight. The jasmine adds to a feeling of morning breeze carrying salty freshness. It’s a like now.

Fragaddict123

Another extra feminine scent
It’s Jasmine oil in a bottle
Every other note is almost nonexistent
I didn’t like what I wore
Wasn’t impressed by it
I made the mistake of wearing it
Annoyed me the whole day
Not gonna wear it again and for the price
Just buy room sprayer it’s almost identical

Comicalcupcake

This is a LOVE for me. A warm, thick jasmine with a spicy salty twist. Must love white florals.

Ferra_Verto

Creamy soliflore jasmine awash with mineral and solar elements. Opens up spicy and a touch briny, before the jasmine emerges. Feels like being at the sea surrounded by a never-ending beachside garden chockfull of jasmine.
Must be sampled before purchase, especially if you're iffy on white florals, the opening can be off-putting if you don't enjoy this profile.
Best in warm weather, projects very loudly off my skin.

aaronmilic

Misleading name, nice Jasmine scent.

lmnsvgz

The freshest smelling Amouage I have tried. Definitely a lot lighter than their others, I guess it's due to the Solar Notes. It is a summer floral, it feels a bit airty in a way.

KladfvbungMicshk

This one lasts all day on me, though I kind of wish it wouldn’t because what sticks after several hours is a persistent mineral accord and I love the first few hours of complexity most of all. It even gets salty as it transitions into the mineral accord which I think is fascinating. It absolutely does have a sea vibe but in a mysterious and subtle way, like a regal mermaid wearing a land-based jasmine perfume and surrounded by driftwood. It’s aquatic but not aquatic - if that makes sense? Definitely lives up to its name.

TinnTinn

Just got it from Dutyfree at Hamad airport. This is the third day I wear it. Love the nice jasmine, soft and delicate. But I wish the longevity would have been more long lasting. Anyway, love it.

Shawn330

Beautiful and bright natural smelling jasmine must have

mollykkeith

I don't understand why this perfume isn't rated higher. This is so beautiful, and yes, it's mostly jasmine, but the solar note and turmeric add this really nice salty edge that makes the perfume stand out to me. This saltiness and sharpness is invigorating; this is the type of perfume I love to put on in the mornings after a shower to get me ready for the day. It is not sweet to me. It's just insanely fresh. I do enjoy some of the more gourmand, girly fragrances from Amouage (namely, Love Tuberose, Blossom Love, and Lilac Love), but I overall tend to lean toward more fresh fragrances. I think as far as Amouage goes, this is a close tie for my favorite from the house along with Honour Woman and Love Tuberose. Can you tell I love white florals?

Linaskye

There was a white floral a long time ago that smelled very similar to this, and oddly enough I cannot remember what it was. Usually I will covet a fragrance and never forget it until I own it or I no longer like it. It is driving me a little crazy actually.

Anyway, after my absolute love affair with Meander from Amouage, I encouraged my mother and a dear friend to come with me to the Amouage counter at Neiman’s to play a bit. Our assistant was SO lovely and knowledgeable, and she sprayed sample cards of a few different frags based on what we like to wear. One that she sprayed for me was Ashore. Mom and I both liked the card well enough to spray our wrists, but our chemistries worked VERY differently with this frag. On mom, she started to smell kind of awful, like an “old lady”, just all powder and that weird neroli-candy corn-metal smell that happens so much on ME. My chemistry for once responded with a “WE HAVE A WINNER” though! I didn’t experience any weirdness in going through the initial spray to drydown.

I smelled lovely all day with this fragrance. The jasmine remained front and center, a creamy, silky dance. There was at no point any indole, and I never felt headache-y or like I was knocking anyone over with my scent. If you’ve ever driven on a back road with your windows down and you get this whiff of something floral and beautiful and springy, that’s what this was like for me all day long. It was so timeless and classy and subtle yet prominent enough to not be “invisible”. I felt like I needed to be wearing all white and more expensive clothes. I smelled expensive. *laugh*

I’m on the fence about this fragrance being as pricey as it is and whether it is worth it. Worth is of course always subjective, and for most people, this probably is not unique enough to justify purchasing Ashore. Gucci Bloom is similar enough for most people, and I know there’s other perfumes at lower price points that smell similar as well. However, since I struggle with white florals balancing just right on my skin but loving them and WANTING a good one, I kinda think I’ll need to buy a bottle of this soon. It’s just so pretty and luxurious without being obtrusive.

Xela_529

I can see how this can be polarizing. Overall, I like and enjoy Ashore. I can see people struggling with the turmeric note. — as it took me awhile to get used to. But once it settled in the dry down I very much liked this. The turmeric & cardamom gives it an extra lift that Gucci Bloom & Jasmin Rouge desperately lacks.

I don’t get the “old fashioned vibes” people are referring to. It’s definitely not something trendy you’d find at a department store, but I wouldn’t say it’s totally old fashioned. It’s refined and classy. Not something a teeny-bopper would wear but definitely appropriate for late 20s & up. 7/10

LaitekMai

Absolutely no amber.why misleading there's one? Nasty scent, too much ,linear and primitive. Buy Jasmine oil instead- will be the same.
save your money honey!

rahatski

Used the whole 1ml sampl and made myself feel sick. I remember having a Tocca that dried down like Ashore… Stella or Cleopatra, I forget.

Will try again, with a lighter hand. It’s a nice salty jasmine. Just wayyyy stronger than I expected.

exquisitecrops

Gucci's Bloom-type floral with greener jasmine and better materials. Perhaps with hints of exoticism from Serge Lutens' Fils de Joie in the base.

Nice and competent, but alarmingly pedestrian. I'm not spending Amouage-level price tag for this.

Ambystoma

Ok I absolutely love this, but it’s not me at all.
At first there’s a blast of sea air (I grew up next to the ocean, this smacks you in the face with the smell just like being a kid arriving at the beach and excitedly opening the car door to rush out onto the sand) it’s fresh, briny and clean, with a bright sappy green background that feels like clover crushed underfoot, and a very faint hint of a pleasant masculine soapy scent that reminds me of the Imperial Leather soap my Grandad always used.
It’s like a windy, clear summer afternoon.
About half an hour in, it softens, the tender crushed greens vanish but are replaced by a sappy resinous eucalypt note, it’s both rich and fresh and smells like the real tree, not a sharp medicinal cleaning product at all.
As it develops I get a faintly woody, dry grass parched warm forest floor scent, like a eucalyptus glade on a hot day.
There are hints of a fatty, rich, waxy jasmine plant, no real sweetness and not just the flower but the whole plant, it’s very green and bright and warm and fresh, a slight astringency that reminds me of a freshly torn jasmine leaf.
Later on I get inscence, sandalwood and a slight dry mossy undertone, still with woody warm eucalyptus trees and the clean masculine soapy note lingers.
There’s also a note that comes and goes that reminds me of the slightly confronting smell of seashells gathered a couple of days ago that you forgot to wash out straight away - it’s sharp and pungent and a little rotten but not exactly unpleasant, just strong and on the verge of being truly rank.
It finishes with the soft scent of sun warmed timber decking, those same slightly spicy soapy notes, and a very sexy hint of that musky smell you get from someone who has just gone for a run outside wearing freshly washed running gear and has just arrived back, still wet with sweat and smelling strong but it’s a healthy, pleasing smell, no trace of anything stale, bacterial, funky or sour.
Overall I really enjoyed this, but it doesn’t suit my personality at all. I’d definitely be happy to have a small decant to wear on beachy, active holidays, and I think this would be a gorgeous everyday scent for an outdoorsy, masculine sort to wear on warm spring and summer days that aren’t humid or sticky.

Edemay

This fragrance smells like a woman who is smart, gentle and beautiful.
It smells a little dated but in the best way, it stands out and is different
It’s clean, gentle, sweet, interesting.
I want to wear this but I’m not sure if I can pull it off, I’ll probably get a decant first.
To me it doesn’t smell much like any of the other jasmines on the market.

LiliiiS

an unbelievably gorgeous jasmine fragrance. it's clean but not too clean. spicy but not too spicy. it's all about silky, bright, clean, clear, pure and slightly sweet jasmine. a simple yet very pretty fragrance.fortunately I can't detect anything salty or marine here. IMHO it's totally feminine and I don't find it too mature. it can be a perfect bridal perfume.
I have Tom Ford Jasmine Rouge and it's usually overwhelming for me but I can't get enough of Amouge Ashore. this is one of the most beautiful jasmine perfumes I have ever tried.

Enrium

Ashore is primarily a jasmine scent. It is salty and slightly spicy, with musky-animalic and woody nuances. There is a brightness to this scent, thanks to some subtle aldehydes and an ozonic undertone. The overall effect is of a high-quality beachy jasmine scent without much sweetness. The jasmine isn't strictly clean, but it is not indolic either. It is fresh yet waxy and pungent, but manages to avoid being cloying. It is as if Alien (a scent that does not work at all for me) was created with high-quality naturals, instead of its famed synthetics.

Ashore opens with jasmine from initial spray, bolstered by soft, restrained peppery spice. The jasmine is strong and waxy here, very similar to the flower. The aldehydes add brightness without it becoming overly soapy, and the ozonic undertone emerges. It is bright and airy, yet warm. This is perhaps due to whatever "solar notes" are. Either way, it really works.

The jasmine becomes more powdery as it develops, and a hint of rose - also powdery - complements it nicely. The saltiness emerges after a little while, thanks to the amber accord in the base. It is slightly animalic, adding a little edge to the jasmine that prevails throughout. It becomes softly woody as it fades, with clean musk blurring the edges and adding to the animalic quality. It fades to a musky, salty jasmine skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

Aptly named, this is a breezy, beachy jasmine scent, soft yet bright, good quality yet familiar and unchallenging. A feminine spring/summer daytime scent, Ashore is an easy reach in warm weather. 4/5.

Sniffathon

This is a beautiful bottle of sunset - the jasmine sunshine setting to its warm and ambery base. A beautifully blended softer jasmine fragrance, especially in comparison to Portrayal where jasmine is front and centre. I detect a note that my limited fragrance vocabulary describes as slightly fresh. It could be the solar note that is described as “uplifting”. It is a similar note I smell with fragrances containing carnation. Not overly complex, but a breezy floral that is so pleasing to wear.

Joeboud

First review. This was my first scent in a long while which I needed to scrub off. I am not averse to flirting with more feminine florals, but this one was too much for me, and it was definitely too much for my wife. She's rather tolerant of my varied tastes in fragrances, particularly in the old oil department, but she is not having this one. As soon as I was within a foot's distance of her fifteen minutes after applying a couple of sprays, she said: Whoa! Jr. High perfume! Whoa! Old lady! Whoa! No way! No! No! NO! Not on you, ever again! On me, maybe, but never again on you!
So, to be fair, it is a nice jasmine, and I get a bit of ambergris popping through. This one is a hard pass for me. Definitely doesn't work on this man's skin -- perhaps it works better on another's.

Hojubaby

i just got a sample of this and must say im in no way a floral girl but this is magical, the very best floral ever and i think a very good substitute to nina ricci's lair du temps which unfortunately has been reformulated

iszzieanna

Amouage does jasmine. In a typical Amouage style, not only is there jasmine, but it’s surrounded by amber, resins and incense. If I was a fan of jasmine, this would be my next purchase. This is a well done fragrance, but not for me

MadMadCat

I am not pretending to be a sophisticated perfume connoisseur, I just like what I like, and I find Ashore beautiful. I tried many jasmine-based fragrances and I came to the conclusion that it is not easy to make a jasmine centric perfume that isn't too sweet, too synthetic, too cloying, too animalic (not in the good way). To me, Ashore finds its balance, being clean but not too much, soapy without smelling like laundry detergent, powdery without smelling old, spicy without smelling like a souk. I see the comparison with TF Jasmine Rouge, but on my skin Jasmine rouge turns cloying and synthetic in the base notes, ultimately smelling cheap and pedestrian. Not with Ashore. It remains breezy, fresh and salty until the end. It is not complex, it does not evolve, it is just what it is, beautiful from the beginning to the end.

Gatorsrules

I usually don’t roll with white florals but this is lovely. Another one where the notes usually are my dislikes but I love this! Fresh, sunny, floral. Just amazing!

LenoreHolly

I love Jasmine and was excited to try this. The dry down is good, slightly creamy, very nice… but the opening blast of pepper is so strong I had to cover up my arm where I had test sprayed. At that price, I would want to love every second of it.

AriaLennon

Ashore is a fresh, fruity jasmine scent. For the most part, Ashore presents a very clean, jasmine and sun forward aroma at a high pitch. It's highly ozonic, biting, and nearly peppery on the skin. Most of the time, the silage is wonderful, and I like the longevity it provides. Very brilliant and relaxing, with a lifespan of about 8 hours. This is a summer/warmer weather scent, and it's not only for the day but also it'd be wonderful on balmy summer nights.

Silverquick

Gorgeous creamy and clear. No indoles. Very clean jasmine with spicy edges. I’m wearing in late winter and it projects beautifully. Little puffs of this crystalline scent for hours. Not overwhelming or soapy (and I like soap) but very present. Definitely unisex with a slight lean to the feminine. Love that it’s not gourmand - will try again late spring /summer and see how the scent changes. This could be FB worthy.

betsyglez8

I thought this had tuberose.
This is a very strong white floral fragrance .
Very chypre old fashion perfume

Spice and jazmine .
With lotion . Clean but old style .
Not my cup of tea .

Dmiddy

Old fashioned, musty jasmine. As others have mentioned, I am not getting the dreamy ocean connection I so hoped for. An actual scrub for me.

violeteme

Stunning, creamy, dense, almost a pure jasmine soliflore. But it is also very heavy, concentrated and mature. If you want a lightweight, elegant jasmine, this is not it. I would not say this is beachy either, at least it's not sunny beachy. Windy, salty, marine, clouded beachy - yes, maybe. And that is even more special about it as sunny, happy beaches, let's admit, we have loads of those perfumes already. It doesn't have much indoles or greenery, it's not a bubblegum jasmine, it's not like the only flower which you smell somewhere in the nature, but it is very thick, like a full crate of already picked jasmine blooms. And there is a linger of a dewy undertone, which suggests of freshly picked blooms just seconds ago. I agree that Ashore is almost completely linear, it's jasmine all the way. The closest example to it is Amalia. Amalia has some wildness about it, it's like a cross between A la Nuit and Ashore. +
Update: The more jasmine perfumes I was able to test, the more special Ashore seems.

GlacialImpala

Like Zentocs said, this is practically jasmin soliflore... very disappointing.

Zentocs

It is the beautiest jasmin perfume so far… it is a creamy-silky jasmine-mono perfume. I like Amouage and this is my fave from Them. Extremely feminin and elegant, long lasting. The colour of the glass is suits well becouse a silky jasmine needs a cream bottle. LOVE!!!

saccitygrl01

At the opening I detect the ambergris, which give an ocean/sea salt note with a slight animalic quality. There is also a cola/root beer note at first. This fades and I was left with just jasmine. This is my first experience with sambac jasmine which I find to be sweet and smooth. I didn't detect any pepper note as the fragrance developed--this is actually a very smooth fragrance with no sharpness.
A definite try for jasmine lovers. Not something I will purchase a full bottle as it is a bit too heavy with the ambergris for my taste but glad I tried it.

Sanrio

Look, I don't *want* a $350 perfume to be vastly superior to all the other "Beachy" florals, but it just is. It's perfect.

I get sweet fresh pikake, that mineral-y smell hot wet rocks/hot sand on the beach get, and a teensy bit of spices in the background (way more so than Jasmin Rouge.)

This is what I wanted and expected Jasmin Rouge to be, and it just wasn't.

Amazing beachy floral if you don't want a typical coconut & tiare perfume for vacation.

Gosh

Salty jasmine done right (for my taste). Looking at you Olympea and Jadore in Joy and loads of others that came after.. the description of smell of jasmine carried in a sea breeze is spot on. Spices in the opening disappear quickly and it's just jasmine, not indolic, bit of aldehydes? for airiness and aquatic freshness (just a tiny bit) salty ambergris and bit of creaminess from sandalwood. Smells lovely, classy, expensive and luxurious. Doesnt remind me of any other fragrance. And I had some aliens. Yes it's jasmine, but to me a very different jasmine. Just no. Not at all similar to Tom Fords spicy jasmine either. Sadly this doesn't project too much and doesn't last very long on me because my dry skin eats every fragrance, but I'll just shower myself. It's bit jasmine heavier on paper and clothes compared to skin wear, but smells phenomenal in hair. I got a 100ml bottle for 170 euro which is still too much, oh, but it is so lovely. If this lasts on you and you can afford it, get it. For me the best in this category.

aynala216

Ok, she is STRONG. One spray and I was like whoa. This is all about the Jasmine, baby. She's definitely the star of the show. It's a very smooth, quite linear scent. Perfect for a casual warm day.

wondervalley666

Upon first spray I thought I got a rush of suntan oil but more expensive and fresh flowery. I thought there might be some orange blossom or something creating this scent, but I don't see such notes listed. After a minute or two it transforms into rich and strong fresh jasmine. I thought I was wearing Alien. Whatever I interpreted as "orange blossom/suntan oil" has basically vanished at this point and and I'm primarily getting jasmine with a subtle "sandy" note that makes it feel beachy. Strange that there's no citrus in this, it smells zesty. Must be the pepper and solar notes..? Not getting anything musky/animalic/curry/bo-like at all, everything smells so fresh and crisp. My nose can just TELL this is expensive. I'd be shocked to find this for under $100. Sometimes when I smell high-end fragrance, it's almost like fresh flowers and fruits are directly under my nose-strong and crisp, like the best smelling flowers/oils I've ever encountered. I get the same effect here. Nothing feels off, cheap, synthetic, alcohol-like or anything like that. Very luxurious and high end, almost makes me smile just to enjoy such a lovely scent. I was kind of hoping for an alternative to Soleil Blanc in this fragrance, but ultimately I think it's a bit too similar to Alien on me. Since I already have a lot of Alien, I don't see myself buying a full bottle of this at this time. Though it may be nice to swap Alien for this during the summer at some point in the future.

sherifmango

It reminds me of Phool by Illuminum..

For me and on me this is the most beauutiful jasmine tea fragrance that I was long searching for. And none other delivered that bright and kind feeling I get smelling my favourite Chinese jasmine tea. This is so well blended I can not and want not pick it to pieces. It just gives me that beauty I get from jasmine tea. Its green but still warm it really shines. Feminine and happy refreshing and simple but so so sophisticated. Like a calligraphy of of a jasmine branch in bloom. You really want to transform to this kindest dearest spirit. And as an Amouage strong but not overwhelming.

Finally recieved my bottle of this beauty after reading up on it and finally going for a sample which ended up as a love. I love how ashore can be so simplistic but still its own thing. The star of the show is Jasmine sambac and combined with the solar accord and ambergris it gives it a solar/salty feel. It really does smell like Jasmine by the beach. To me the solar note and the touch of spices and salty ambergris almost makes an note that smells of sand. So basically it smells of sand, Jasmine and the salty air by the beach. Absolutely beautiful. The spices are there but so well blended with the fragrance that your nose almost don’t detect them. This might not be as complex as other Amouages but the beauty is really in the simplicity of this scent!

perfumewave

I don't know if my nose receptors are broken or something, because majority of people seem to like this while I don't.

My grandma lives in a house right next to the blacksea. Some of the wooden furniture in her basement are ancient. Like, very old. And the weather in there is very, very humid so the woods gets rotten. This is the scent I get from this perfume. It smells like old rotten wood, salt and jasmine.

I get a blast of seashore from the Ambergris at the beginning. Growing up on the coast and working with seafood most of my life, it’s a note I don’t care for. But here it’s not as intense as it could be. When that fades, you get a soft kiss of florals which last quite a long time. I find this a great perfume if you want something very close to your skin. I have a 2ml sample and I’m enjoying wearing it when I’m teaching yoga or hanging out with my small children. Not sure if it’s FBW. I have many other amouages on the list in front of this.

White florals are not something I gravitate towards and I confess, I bought Ashore for the beautiful bottle which caught my fancy. The notes I can pick out are mostly jasmine - strong, indolic almost overpowering everything else in the composition and ambergris that brings a hint of something salty but also an ambery depth to it. There is also something else here that brightens what otherwise would be a heavily indolic scent, maybe the solar notes. I was very intrigued to see turmeric used as a note in perfumery as it is a spice that I use almost daily. To me it is odorless and nearly tasteless (unless you go overboard making everything bitter) so I am now very curious to get my nose on some fresh turmeric to see if I can detect a scent. In the deep dry down of Ashore, several hours after I sprayed it, after the notes have settled and maybe even faded a little, I like it. The description for this fragrance on the Amouage website (before I read it) is exactly the picture that the name Ashore (very fitting, in my opinion) evoked in my mind when I smelled it. While I don't hate it, I honestly don't think I will wear it as it could potentially be headache inducing for me. Performance is good across the board, as expected from an Amouage.

And just to set the record straight, turmeric does not smell like 'curry' and in fact is only a minor ingredient used in a blend of spices used to make a wide variety of curries. The term 'curry' is very nondescript and nothing about this fragrance smells like any kind of curry I know.

I love the burst of white flowers- not too sweet. It stays pretty liner. On my skin it gets powdery. I am sad that on me it doesn’t last long. I have to keep over spraying it. I have older dry skin so this is more common. I do layer a light rose oil under it to extend the wearing time. Over all this is very nice and I did go ahead and get a full bottle. It is a little expensive though.

Roses and Thyme

I have a small sample vial from a well-known online niche store. I adore this! I was lucky enough to first sample it in Dallas, then I got the sample vial to make sure it is a love, and it is true love.

I do not get the spicy scent others speak of. On me, it is straight white flowers from beginning to end. There’s a little hint of “something” to keep it from straying into either a true soliflor or plain territory but I can’t make out what it is.

Gorgeous. I don’t know if I’ll ever save up for a full bottle but I simply love the scent.

Vlada_Pechenaya

Very very strong PEPPERY CURRY opening.

I appreciate the use of unusual notes, and that this opening conceals the most beautiful white flowers, but it honestly made me gag. I don't want to walk around smelling like curry for half an hour!

You stand alone on a sunlit coastline; the warm sensation of the sand connects with your body, the ocean breeze caresses your cheeks and thousands of birds circle the skies - and you are surrounded by beauty. As you open your eyes, the serenity of the sight cuts deep into your soul. You feel alive. You just stand there, deeply in focus and for a brief moment you feel complete. Like nothing is missing. You are one with the creation. (...)

Ashore is deeply serene, bright and clean. I imagine the purest of sights when I smell Ashore; just what I have painted before - Beautiful, slightly aldehydic, ozonic and salty, but sweet and sensual in nature. A heart of jasmine dominates the fragrance that is white, gentle and kind - the sweetness of it mixed with the sparkling top creates a meditative, calm and beautiful composition that helps us reminisce of a kinder past. White florals, a solar element, aldehydes, sandalwood all contribute to a well-balanced experience that blends into your skin and make you feel like it belongs to you.

(...) As you stand watching over the coastline, the sun has set and suddenly, darkness cover the sky. The ocean breeze feels just a little colder, the sand feels a little more coarse, and the cacophony of sounds cease to exist; instead, millions of sparkling lights appear in the distance, and you just smile.. as glimmering stars wash ashore.

I had to try this. I'm frequently at the shore and Amouage is a frequent favorite.

More often than I wish, top notes sprint off my skin as the fragrance is drying. That's not quite the case here, a light turmeric hung around for a bit, but pepper and cardamom were short lived. That's ok, jasmine and the solar notes, were early on my skin and as a jasmine lover, it's an acceptable trade off :) On my first wearing of this fragrance, I would have sworn that I could smell the dust off beach rocks and crushed shells O.o, but second and this third wearing not a whiff. Just my mind playing tricks with my nose, I guess.

Yes, the Ashore jasmine (and only the jasmine) does share a similarity with Jasmine Rouge as referenced in the reminds me of section above, but I also found Jennifer Aniston's Lolavie sitting at the family table. The Ashore jasmine is a clever combination of the two fragrances. It's a warm and rounded jasmine, from the solar notes I would imagine, but also somehow translucent and very soft. I would have preferred the note to be more akin to the shore at dawn, cooler... before the waves and tourist start their day. Ashore is also missing the damp smell of the sand and the water. Where's the driftwood? There's no note to remind me of just where I'm at with this composition. This jasmine could be anywhere. I wanted it near the ocean. With a name like Ashore, it's the only place this lovely jasmine should have bloomed.

I like it well enough to give it an OK. I mean...what's not to like about jasmine? BUT I could have loved it.

Ashore feels like a sunny, hopeful day by the beach. An aldehydic, solar fragrance with soft white floral notes. One of my favourite uses of jasmine, very subtle, natural and fresh. The soft, soapy aldehyde gives a clean-musk body for the jasmine and soft rose to lay on. Ambergris introduces a slight salty tone. This coupled with the solar note (which just smells like.. warm? Hard to describe) creates a sunny, salty beach air feel. After an hour or so it melts into the skin with little change in the scent aside from a mild resin and spice underneath, which has that Amouage, Arabian fragrance dna.

Today is the first day of the season leaning hot and humid in Vic, Australia. Ashore was the perfect uplifting fragrance to lift the spirits while smelling clean and lightly floral without it feeling cloying at all in the humidity. I can imagine this would be a stunning beach scent.

This is beautiful... So warm and cozy...

I think this is actually fantastic for Autumn and Winter mornings...

the warmest and coziest jasmine fragrance I've ever smelt...

smells like a mother's warm smile in the morning

tandem_4x4

Smells like tuberose & jasmine soap. The good thing - the tuberose it not strong :-)

IrisBunny

This reminds me of Gardenia by Roja Dove. They smell quite similar, but with different drydown. Ashore is warmer and softer.

Another unfortunate victim of the ‘white florals= boring’ rhetoric shared by some member of the fragrance community. This is a gorgeous, high quality solar jasmine, reminiscent of standing on a humid beach in the afternoon, being sprayed by the waves. Very much a summer/warmer weather fragrance, and not just for daytime- this would be stunning on balmy summer nights. Sillage and longevity are the best I’ve come across for this category of perfume. Definitely worth sampling if you like jasmine.

Zentocs

This parfume is beautifule creamy jasmine - not indolic at all. Very bright and calming, feminin one. I recommend every age-this is a miracle!!! On my dry skin stays 10 hours and the sillage is medium-strong.You will get a fantastic cloud around you. LOVE!!!

sisina96rv

Pretty, pretty, but weak. It evaporates within 2 hours. At the beginning I smell rose and jasmin, aquatic notes and salt. As the scent evolves, it becomes more lily-in-the-valley, still aquatic and salty. It definitely has a vintage undertone, which reminds me of my maternal grandma and the cheerful gatherings of her friends at our place. All decent ladies at the pension. But it doesn't mean the perfume is old-fashioned. The pepper and turmeric do their own magic. They bring me back my memories of beautiful, long days at Croatian beaches, where you can smell the sea and pines in the air. Just the pines are missing in this, but you get the idea of sea beach. Overall the scent revives my memories of happy, free, careless, hot summers, when life was easy and simply beautiful, full of sunshine and hope.

This is nude jasmine from Portrayal, very well blended and it is difficult to notice anything but extremely high quality jasmine. It doesn’t resemble Portrayal, reminiscent of TF Jasmin Rouge, unlike which it has great durability. The difference from Jasmine rouge is that rouge has some warm, soft and sweet background while Ashore is completely clean, fresh and a bit citrusy, more serious than TF. This is very clean, maybe even an uncomplete scent in my taste. First time to smell the perfume and think of layering with some gentle vanilla. The quality is there, it is not some unseen miracle, though it is beautiful and I would find place for it in my collection.

AMajeedQT

Pure Jasmine.

Ashore is the new sister to Reflection and Honor.

It is a beautiful, minimalistic jasmine perfume. It smells like a pure, unadulterated jasmine oil. Everything else is a supportive note to the jasmine.

White, light, floral, bright, cheerful.

This is a must-try to anyone who loves jasmine or loves Amouage's Reflection &/or Honor.

Excellent performance as always with Amouage.

Feminine, any-age, any time wear. Suitable best for neutral weather, 15-35C if I am to put a number.

It gives me Pure Poison by Dior vibes. Fresh, clean, classy but a biit more potent and I think in a bad way for my liking.. a bit more vintagy.
I like it but not love it.
Definitely long lasting.

A no for me! Green, aldehydic, Jasmine, sharp vintage like scent.

Ashore is my first and best choice in this line. It’s a joyful, bright and a very pleasant scent. I'm enchanted by its beauty! It’s all about Jasmine sambac although I get the best quality of cardamom in start but it’s not long lasting and then the transparent jasmine petals floating in sea water feels very soft, meanwhile the sunset brightness has brilliant reflection on your skin by solar note. At the end the rounded ambergris with sandalwood brought a very soft ambery, salty and sensual base in this adorable perfume. An excellent choice for spring/summer days.

Dryasiulia

It certainly isn't the first time, but this wears a bit differently on me than most of the other reviews below. It's absolutely primarily an Amouage slightly indolic jasmine, pretty similar to the jasmine in portrayal.

But wearing them side by side Portrayal is much sweeter. Ashore is salty with a lot of bright citrusy frankincense. It has a lovely light dryness and feels complex under the jasmine in a similar way that portrayal is.

I get absolutely no soapy elements (happily) or aldehydes (even happier~) and as much as I am a proponent of using the "reminds me of" loosely I'm at a bit of a loss why anyone would see a resemblance to Love Tuberose. Theres absolutely no tuberose or vanilla in Ashore; and honestly very little sweetness.

I love it.

danygurl06

This is a very clean jasmine and smells really nice. It’s not a squeaky clean air freshener like Michael Kors Glam Jasmine. It’s not sweet like Al-Rehab Full. It’s not sharp and perfumey like Dior Pure Poison. It’s not creamy like Keiko Mecheri Isles Lointaines which smells like a creamy version of Pure Poison. Then what on earth does it smell like?

It’s a soapy bubble Jasmine. It’s as if lots of Jasmine was added to bubble wand juice. There is more Jasmine than bubble wand unlike Gendarme or Carriere. Then it eventually dry downs to something almost bubblegum like. It’s way more floral than bubble gum. It has a fresh quality to it as well.

It’s a nicely done jasmine without all of the bells and whistles. Although this lacks the wow factor, i like it better than every other Jasmine I’ve smelled so far. I’d put TF Jasmine Rouge and April Aromatic Jasmina as the second and 3rd place winners.

Once again Amouage makes a common smelling fragrance and does it better. I’m actually not a fan of their more challenging fragrances. Their normal fragrances provide a version of a designer scent that I actually find wearable.

Update: I'm wearing this on a cold day when the air is super dry for Alabama. This stuff still smells the same, but it is super sharp now. It literally burns my nose every time my wrist get near my face. I actually want to scrub it off even though it still smells nice.

Kots_Tanya

Beautiful clean crisp a bit green Jasmine. Reminds me a bit of Jasmins Marzipane by Lancôme as if the Marzipane and creaminess was taken out and you have Jasmine taken on the higher level. It’s pretty and clean. I much prefer Jasmins Marzipane, Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge or Pure Poison by Dior. I still do like it but full bottle is probably not happening. I prefer Crimson Rocks over this one from the line. If you love bright green Jasmine, almost mature a bit sharp Jasmine, you will love this one, to me, I see it headache inducing, it’s missing some softness, may be Ylang. I’ll keep the sample and come back to it in hot summer days. I think the price point for something so dupable isn’t worth it as well.
Was trying to put my mind what it reminds me of, finally it hit me that it smells like Olene by Diptyque if my memories suits me right, since I don’t have the bottle anymore. I remember indolic Jasmine and that’s what Ashore is.

Bubbles1964

If Ashore were released from a mainstream brand with a more reasonable price tag, we might all be swooning. But this is Amouage, we want their releases to feel niche with an unexpected note combination, or with at least a surprise note addition to justify the expense.

Ashore does not deliver the unexpected, hence it won’t win any originality awards. But it does have potential to sell well.

Jasmine is front and center, slightly indolic but still wearable. Quality is apparent, but I don’t pick up any other note until a couple of hours into the dry down when a little spice, and what I think is ambergris comes into play.

Ambergris. I assume that’s why this perfume is called Ashore. Unfortunately I feel like the name doesn’t fit when the reality is that Ashore is a beautiful Jasmine centric perfume. I won’t downvote but I do think this will disappoint Amouage fans.

katrin.niisuke

Beautiful and done before by Dior. A bit more skanky than Poison but pretty ok substitute for it. Indolic part is almost headache inducing but never goes over the edge. It feels incomplete. Huge floral opening simply gets less louder. Very linear creation. It lacks edginess. Performance is very good though.

Amv10

Superb elegant jasmine without any indolic side. Amouage already did jasmine in Ubar and Portrayal but this is the creamiest and most sensual of all. Ubar is wonderfully dark while Ashore is a soft light. The sandalwood gives it the soft cashmere feel and the jasmine is pure and floral all the way across. As all Amouage, great staying power alternative I could only test on paper strips. If it is to have only one jasmine on the floral side, this is it. Amongst the four maybe the more safe one but great to see Amouage back in force.

Pez_Enelrio

This is the safest one out of the new line, with jasmine dominating. It is though quite sharp, airy almost cold jasmine... and the drydown is beutifully hamonized by Rose and the woodsy notes

LaLuNaveed

This is going to be a review from a sample. Ashore opens with soft, airy jasmine and it stays like that for a while. In time sandalwood emerges making the scent very soft, then ambergris... Personally I don't get along well with ambergris, very odd, sweet aroma that gives me headache. Overall if you like jasmine, tuberose and floral scents you will love it. It's soft, sweet, classy but nothing that hasn't been done before. There is not a lot of spin or added notes to the jasmine to make it unique. Beautiful regardless. Stays on the skin for quite some time. I would suggest to get a sample before investing in a full bottle, because if you are a serious perfume collector, you might already have something like this in your collection.

Explorador

Some time ago, when you purchased on the Amouage site, you would get your most desired bottle of perfume in no time, with a little note inside the box saying “this bottle was carefully prepared for you by...”.

Now, they take two weeks to send an email to tell you that the perfume is out of stock and they will procedd to do a refund as soon as possible.

Luxury expresses itself in all aspects of the customer experience. Amouage has changed from a truly luxury brand to a mass market company, totally direspectful to their customers. Really sad for former lovers of Amouage.
