from first spray until about an hour in this is pure, damp, wet-concrete-gray, only slightly sweetened cashmeran. do with this knowledge as you will. I find it intoxicating, which captured me about this fragrance to begin with. if your nose doesn't pick up on cashmeran much, this is a very bland, almost nonexistent almond sugar, woody somewhere deep down with a BREATH of lemon and vanilla. if you DO pick up on it, it's a lovely, if straightforward progression. starts off damp as can be and dries both literally and figuratively over its weartime. by 5 hours in it's a classy, but casual skin scent. the almond is somewhere in the distance in the beginning, sure, but the way it slowly uncovers itself more and more from under this heavy, stormy cashmere musk as the hours pass is just heavenly. bois d'amande isn't a symphony, more of a concept album. I still think you need to hear all the way through in order to truly enjoy it, but if you're a fan of one or two songs (almond, but not cashmeran, or the other way around), I suggest steering clear.

astralmonad870

I feel like Bois Doré has a much more prominent almond note than this, so the names are a bit misleading. They should have totally switched the names!

FragranceSigma

The only fragrance my girlfriend likes of my entire collection. Very simple vanilla scent with a hint of almond. Not too strong not too soft. Lovely fragrance

filippafragrance

My favorite perfume ever! I’ve never smelled anything like this. Absolutely beautiful!!

Omar Sabry

wow from a test paper
This is elegance in a bottle.
It is calm and unique at the same time.
I can smell lemon and almond very well

toosimilar

Negihak is right, but i will be precise: almond part resembles BR540 Extrait specifically
Performance is slightly better than for a majority of modern Van Cleef-s
Sweet, warm vanilla-almond scent , not a safe blind though

Negihak

Sweet almond/vanilla that kind of reminds me of Baccarat Rouge

Ashmoore84_1

This fragrance is absolutely beautiful!! I'm surprised no one is talking about it! So well blended, there's the slight but noticeable citrus component combined with the creaminess of the vanilla and almond notes! Superb! Then the drydown is impeccable, because as it is drying down, the woody characters emerge, intertwined with the soft musk, giving a pinch of an animalic vibe to balance those sweeter components. This is so good! In every move or sway of my body, I get whiffs of the scent--so sillage is great! V&A Bois d'Amande is an aroma therapy experience; ✨️ sexy, even!

Bois d'Amande is subtle, elegant, and entirely unisex. Wearing it, you will smell like an expensive home-goods shop or a spa. Anyone who picks up on a fragrance might assume the fragrance is just residual soap or lotion, possibly something in the Jergens line, along with some mysterious cedar note that's wafting in from a nearby lumberyard. I just bought a travel sprayer, about a quarter of an ounce, so I'm not too disappointed, but it's a bit too subtle for me to consider full bottle worthy. Like Bois d'Iris and Orchidée Vanille, though, its power might be deceptive. I noticed with those two fragrances that I complained about their longevity--and then noticed them a day later, still projecting from the clothes I was wearing. I think I do go noseblind to the fragrances in this line, but I also think they tend to be much more long-lasting than the wearer might believe, and they are soft and elegant enough to work for someone who isn't fond of frags with an enormous throw. That said, if you buy this hoping for a primarily almond fragrance, you will be disappointed. This is mostly wood--cedar, specifically--and a generous dose of vanilla, plus that sneaky musk that I apparently go noseblind to almost immediately. The almond and lemon top notes require a great deal of my imagination to discern. If you already own Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille, I think that is a better iteration of this fragrance. That doesn't have almond, but it doesn't purport to either. Both are very unisex, Bois d'Amande perhaps more so.

rsayamyan

I smelled this on the paper stick first and instantly was hooked. Asked the store assistant to spray on my skin and I was addicted!
love at first smell for me.
I got a very creamy vanilla/almond smell from here, very cozy just like me lol, comforting in a way, also imagined this on a girl

Gonna purchase this after tasting the rest of this line

Edit: tried others in the line as well today - Ambre Imperial and Moonlight Patchouli on my both hands right now, I kinda prefer MP over AI for it's different smell, first time I liked Patchouli based fragrance. AI smells kinda weird Amber/Tonka mix for me.
Also Bois D'iris (very very light scent, I couldn't even smell it from the paper), California Reverie (smelled like Colgate to me), Santal Blanc (same issue as Bois D'Iris), Orchid Leather (this smelled too feminine for me).

mysteriousmyth

This perfume comes in like a flash of life and sweetness, without being cloying. It is youthful as well as mature. As daring and at the same time cautious with ordinary nuances. As the hours go by, the more "aggressive" notes fade away, giving way to the warmth of vanilla.

nichoa99

Very hard to describe, and very unique for me! It's a very sparkly, light lemon, and a nice almond to ground it, however if you didn't tell me there was an almond note, I wouldn't have guessed it. The more I smell it the more I go nose blind to it. It smells a little bit like celery. A tiny bit peppery. Comforting.

The top notes of almond and lemon fade so fast on my skin, within 30 seconds I can only smell the peppery cedar and it kind of sticks in my nose. I wish the top notes lasted longer.

Catherine_Smells

This is not a typical gourmand fragrance, yes it has vanilla and almonds but it’s not a heavy marzipan or frangipani dessert. Instead it’s more of a light, fluffy almond cake, or even an almond pudding/mousse (if that’s a thing - it should be!). That being said, it doesn’t actually smell edible like many gourmands.

This is a well blended, smooth and buttery fragrance that dries down into a woody, and musky skin scent that lasts forever on clothes. It does not have a big projection, but the intimate scent trail is addicting once noticed. The airy lemon scent adds a gentle zing whilst the woody notes add depth that prevents it being sickly sweet and cloying.

I appreciate those likening it to BR540, but I think it shares an airy almond or burnt sugar note found in BR540 Extrait. However this is far superior in that it doesn’t have a synthetic/plastic smell I find with both BR540. I own Replica BTFP and they’re nothing alike - both have vanilla but it’s totally different, even the vanilla notes are different.

I think this could be a popular fragrance in 2024. I’m obsessed.

elsab

Like an expensive vanilla gelato. Elegant and simple. Like a warm hug. Perfectly unisex.
However it doesn't last on me and I've to overspray it.

Liisa7

A nice cozy scent for autumn and winter. The opening is a bit too sharp for me, but the drydown is lovely. On my clothes it can last for days and on my skin lasts for almost a day. I wouldn’t go out with this scent, I mostly wore this at home. Makes you feel warm and safe.

benegesserit23

Sampled this and Bois Doré in store. I don't understand why do people say this leans kinda masculine? I do not get anything masculine from this, as for Bois Doré I can say that it leans 10% more masculine than being a true middle ground unisex fragrance.

This smells like heaven. It's creamy almond and vanilla. I wouldn't say it's too sweet, but it is on the sweeter side of fragrances. On my skin it lasts for 6+ hours, however I'd say it's more of a skin scent, but I did get whiffs throughout the day (same with bois doré).

Both fragrances are nice. I went with this one, because it's a tad bit lighter than bois doré.

LanaDelSlay

Soft cozy fluffy almonds with a hint of creamy milk and just a tad baby powder in the background. So so cute

Singabera

Very simple, moderately sweet vanilla/powdery/marzipan. Flat, no development, sounds not cheap however. In my opinion fragrance is more suitable for good quality shampoo or hand cream.

fyre92

This isn’t a vanilla it’s a bitter almond citrus over woods. Yes there’s vanilla in it but it’s nothing like their vanilla fragrance. This is good but not how people are describing it. It’s dry, bready, smells red in the beginning and there’s a sweet note in the base and it’s very woody. This is unisex for sure. It gets fluffy and a lot sweeter after a while.

Kucemi

I was expecting a lot from this perfume but it slightly disappointed. Upon opening, the perfume is almost floral on me with whiffs of almond tree in the background. Then it starts turning into sweet sugary vanilla cake, again with almond in the background. I cannot detect any lemon and the almond is never there on the first sniff, you have to concentrate specifically on that accord to know about it. It is not projecting a lot like for instance Profumum Roma Dolce Acqua, but you can smell it well without having to put your nose on the wrist. It is quite elegant inoffensive everyday wear perfume. Lasts a while too.

Siennai

I like this but it gave me headache so had to pass it on.

Cali Brating

Quite the little gem this one for me.
A scent for every day use, unpretentious and very cosy.
Smooth vanilla gelato, topped with roasted almond flakes and a drizzle of lemon syrup. Enjoyed on a beautifully constructed and comfortable ceder deck on a day with a gentle but refreshing breeze. ...What's not to like...? ❤️

On different days for me the experience can differ some, highlighting one or two notes more than the others. I can't make out if it's temperature or humidity that's the reason for this. ...Nothing negative though in my opinion, as I very much do appreciate versitility, and an element of surprise. ...Long lasting on my skin with moderate projection after applying 4 sprays. The prospect of compliments increase exponentially if you go wild, splurge, and do the doubble amount ;o) ...I recommend.

Much love ❤️ And 200 kittens to the People...!!

tessture

A soft vanilla almond, dry and very woody. I get more wood than almond after the first half hour and the lemon note adds some nice bright zing. Nice.

KashaxStella

I used to adore this as it used to smell sweet on me. After 2.5 years I suddenly became allergic to it (headaches and cannot stand it) and it no longer smells sweet, but powdery. What a pity, because I used to get loads of compliments, summer or winter. Fantastic projection and longevity. (yes I posted the same for Orchidee Vanille as I went through identical perfume story with it).

I have a half-full bottle if anyone would like it.

piginspandex

I LOVE the Van Cleef and Arpels line, and I love almond, so I thought I would love this. (I successfully blind bought Bois Dore and Orchidee Vanille and they are two of my favorites). Unfortunately it smells like warm root beer to me. I don't get almond at all, unless perfumed almond smells like root beer? It's possible it's just me, since this has the same smell profile to me as ADP Mandorlo di Sicilia and that is also theoretically almond. I really wanted to love this and I keep trying to wear it to see if it grows on me but alas, no. I don't want to smell like a root beer that got spilled at the bottom of a cooler on the 4th of July. Hard pass.

Chocobaby

Beautiful opening of lemony almond which quickly settles down to vanilla/almond. This is smooth and comforting. It’s quite linear but it’s so well blended that it just feels like a warm blanket. This smells like an almond version of Creed’s Vanille Sublime. Mmm…delicious!

layloli

What a gorgeous perfume! The citrus balances out the sweetness, very sensual smell! Gets you addicted to It wanting to sniff more of It all the time, I keep getting a constant whiff though out the day. Lasts for days on clothes! Lasts hours on skin. Projection of an arm length. Might wanna let It sit for a few weeks after the first spray, the vanilla will do It's thing! This perfume a masterpiece! Projection, longevity and sillage are awesome.

the_enigmatic_oblong

Gorgeous perfume! I love the combination of almond and lemon, on me this lemony breeze lasts for quite a long time. Overall on my skin the perfume lasts around 6-7 hours but on my clothes it lasts even longer.I would say it’s perfectly unisex but I tend to say that about most perfumes that aren’t overwhelmingly floral and not overly barber shop like. The perfume is very deliciously sweet but not sickly. I would eat it if it was a dessert. It doesn’t project or last as long as Orchid Leather from the same collection but considering Orchid Leather lasts for days, this isn’t a negative really. It will last you for the day and evening if you spray it on your clothes. If you want compliments this is one that will attract attention.

amanda0727

I just got this bottle and I am not smelling much of anything. Faint almond, sweet vanilla and citrus is what I am getting now. With Bois Dore, after letting it sit for 3 weeks it became beast mode. So, gonna let this one sit for at least 3 weeks and update.

Update: yes, scent became stronger after it had time to macerate. I hate to say this but, kinda smells like BR540 Extrait.

Amberrose1983

Brought this a few days ago and ive tried it on my skin and clothes but all im getting is straight up sawdust mixed with pepper that eventually dries down to a moss type smell, my husband said he could smell chocolate orange but i cant, i love my gourmands and Brought this because of the gourmand related reviews on it, for me its not a safe blind buy at all especially being over £100, it lasts a couple of hours on me and isnt very strong but there isnt many that do to be fair, my skin literally drinks perfume up, other people say they can smell it but i cant after a while, my suggestion would be to buy a sample before you try

ohuz01

Wow wow. Love at first sniff! Almond top note is delicious and reminiscent of some of L’occitanes almond products and le petit Marseille amande. Don’t really get any citrus or lemon but that doesn’t matter this is a true gourmand I wish I could eat it. If you like sweet woods like Margiela’s Replica ‘by the fireplace’ chances are you’ll enjoy this. Dry down goes Woody enough so that it doesn’t feel too feminine I found it lasted for hours on skin and daysss on clothes. Wish it came in 100ml instead of 75ml. I will definitely be grabbing a bottle when it hits sales.

Vellocet

This smells like a refined and more almond forward version of hypnotic poison which I love! It's heavy without being too cloying, mysterious and seductive. Great longevity!

Seba James

One of the best vanilla fragrance,
On clothes it lasted days!

MiwaB

This smells beautiful, but unfortunately it doesn’t last more than an hour on me and stays extremely close to skin. Love it but dont really use it because of its poor performance

moccacino

The woody, gourmand delight with the soft, velvety sweet notes of almond and vanilla. Soft and creamy, warm and sensual! I adore this! A perfect balance of almond, vanilla, musk and cedar. I don't get any citrus. Longevity 12+ hours. Gorgeous!!!

oceanorchid

I never even bothered trying this one as almond is a note I usually don't like. To say I was shocked when I first tried it is an understatement. It was love at first sniff! It's so well blended and it's a soft, creamy and slightly powdery vanilla with a hint of woodiness from the cedar. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

The perfume itself is perfection, but the longevity is very poor.

Allikib

A super pleasant Fall/Winter scent. A blind buy for me from a swap group and it’s truly like a sweet Jordan almond with some freshness from the lemon and cedar. Not an overwhelming sweet gourmand though. Very different from many of the other gourmands I have purchased or sampled.

just28

Sophisticated and simple gourmand. I love that there are not a hundred different notes in it, but it still has layers.

Starts with a very sweet almond that is more refined than simple almond extract. Addictive. Almond is one of my favorite scents so I was already hooked at first sniff. Tried it on and it lasted for HOURS (10+ hours on me). Starts with vanilla and almond, then transforms more into wood. At first I thought it was mostly feminine (sophisticated woman in a camel wool coat and maybe a black leather purse + a walk in a forest in the fall) but as it evolves I can see it work very well on a man, too. It gets a bit less sweet and more woody with time, but the almond is always somewhere in the back with that vanilla touch that keeps it approachable in it's boldness.

Don't kill me but I kind of feel like it's like a more refined black opium? That's what comes to mind for me as a very amateur nose.

Strong like for me.

StopHammertime

If you are disappointed that l’occitane almond line never came out with a perfume. This would be something to try.

This is hard to explain, but I would say this is not a super gourmand / sweet fragrance. The almond is not a syrupy sweet almond, although it isn’t dusty. There is definitely a vanilla sweetness but it is not over the top. Probably the cedar keeping it in check. I wish I smelled the lemon more but I only get a little bit when this is first sprayed.

Anyway this is one of my all time favorite scents. I find it so unique and different. Blended perfectly and smells expensive. I consider it a well kept secret like most of the van cleef collection extraordinaire line.

carblazehell

A decadent gourmand. On my skin, the vanilla really stands out and above everything else. The rest smells secondary to me. This perfume reminds me very much of the candied almonds you can find in the mall...except I never felt the need to eat those almonds. If I were not Me, I would consider eating me. Lol.

Fragrance_Ultime

A seductive fragrance with a daring and inviting aroma. As a pleasure seeker of the world, I've had the privilege to travel widely, and one thing I learned is that every place has its own unique scent. I fell in love with this one: a delicate, yet robust scent that marries sophistication with an air of whimsy. With a fresh and captivating scent, this perfume is for the discerning woman who knows what she wants. With top notes of exhilarating citrus and luxurious floral aromas, it will definitely envelop you in a certain aura of charm and seduction.

carmenandmonkey

Looking at the listed notes, its all there. But it's so well blended, this scent is hard to imagine/describe! Its mainly semi sweet almond (but not almond extract-like). I see where the BR540 comparison comes from, to me its in that airy top note saffron quality. Also strange to note- I sometimes pick up a sort of soil smell, it could be the bitter facet of the almond/skin.

nektarinka

Gorgeous woods smokey almonds sweet close to Tam Dao I MO

AlaskanAngel

Lovely orange marzipan opening. I wish the almond didn't fade so fast! The cedar is quite dominant for awhile until the vanilla and musk balance it out. Perfectly unisex. It's nice, a bit disappointing considering I bought it for the almond, which is right in the name, but promptly disappears never to return.

This has a very strange end game. It gets sweeter and airy with a bit of... ambergris? Like a salty/sea air vanilla with a hint of something almost sweaty far in the background as it grows muskier.

This starts as a gourmand, moves into woods, and finishes as a sweet air/aquatic with a difference. Verrry interesting progression of the scent story on skin, but really not my style. I definitely wouldn't repurchase.

NOTE
I have never smelled BR 540, so have no comment on that. I own ByTheFireplace and this smells nothing like it at any stage, in my experience.

UPDATE
The end is too musky for my taste, it's actually become bitter. I'm also picking up some ambergris that I'm not enjoying. Decluttered.

Danaalr

How in the world are people actually comparing this to BR 540??? The only reasons I can come with up is that they either never actually smelled BR 540 and just want in on the hype or they just want an excuse to mention it. They are two completely different fragrances, I can understand people comparing this to By The Fireplace but BR 540? Just stop. Stop comparing every single fragrance to BR 540, its actually misleading and annoying. I like them both, but they’re very different. I said what i said.

Zethre

Sugary sweet vanilla with a touch od almond and something creamy. Good if you like really sugary sweet gourmands. Too sweet for me

hsiangchi.huang

It's a beautiful fragrance on its own, understated. Lightly sweet with the almond + vanilla notes, which reminds me (a teeny tiny bit of) BR540. It's nice and smooth, not as edgy as its brother Bois Dore. This can be easily wear all year round, not too heavy or woody.

clairesque

I normally don't review a fragrance until I've worn it a few times, but sometimes when I really love something on the first spray, I just have to rave about it. This is one of those fragrances. Such a smooth and exquisite blend of warm almond and crisp wood with just a hint of sweetness. There is such a delicate dance between warm and cozy vs cool and refined happening in this fragrance. The scent reminds me of a spa or a ritzy hotel. It truly smells luxurious.

Dee76

Nice opening, especially 5 - 10 minutes into the dry down - can really detect the sweet almondny goodness at that point. There is a likeness to BR 540 (extrait) but a whispy, more delicate, aloof similarity. Sadly, the projection is non existent and the fragrance doesn’t last more than a few hours on my skin. For a scent that sits on the skin & for such a short time at that it is overpriced IMO. Would probably work well as a layering fragrance. Blind buy - t’is a shame - I really wanted to love this, the lack of projection and sillage lets it down.

Rozalina

Don’t get anything from this except straight up cedar, like I’m in a wood shop. I would never guess there’s almond or citrus in here whatsoever.

Beauxpeep

This is a really lovely scent - creamy almond vanilla! I get the references to BR 540, but Bois D'Amande is smoother on my skin and doesn't develop the medicinal dentist smell that BR does.

Like my other Van Cleef fragrances, this is low projection but does last all day. I layered it on one arm on bare skin and one on top of Escentric 01. Hard to say which I like better, but I've been happily catching wafts of it as I do my work. This was a blind buy and overall I'm very happy with it.

ani6200

This is one of my new fragrances for the winter that I got when it was finally discounted. For some reason this got pretty hard to find and I am wondering if it's getting discontinued. I could only find it on 1 of the biggest retailers here and had to pay close to full price.

To me it opens with a blast of cedar and a little bit of lemon making it smelly pretty masculine in the beginning. But then the cedar tones down and you can smell the beautiful almond and vanilla. It's sweet but not too sweet and it reminds me a lot of Vanille Insensee now that I am smelling them side by side. Bois d'amande is more unisex and more daring because I definetely see how the cedar could come off as too masculine for some people. What I like about this fragrance is that the almond isn't making it a very powdery scent (because I personally can't stand plasticky almond scents like Hypnotic Poison).

Unfortunately the projection on this one is pretty underwhelming which is typical for Van Cleef fragrances 🙁. The lasting power is moderate. Overall I like it and will be reaching for it when I want a woodier version of Vanille Insensee but other than that still prefer the later because it's easier to wear for me, better projecting and lasting (despite still not being the best at that either).

gritzalimaria

Hello Baccarat... This is me, your younger little brother. I smell the same but im even more smoother than you. Bye bye Baccarat, the lady that own me doesn't care a bit for me.

Aromantra

This is both an airy yet potent gourmand. To me this smells a lot like an almond custard cream-filled eclair. Very sweet & creamy vanilla, and within a few hours smells mostly like whipped cake batter on the skin. It reminds me of This Is Her by Zadig & Voltaire but less of the lactonic note and more marzipan. It's pretty, feminine and well blended, but I really wish it had more citrus/cedar. Not bad, but not as complex as I'd hoped. Definitely going to try one of the comment suggestions below and try layering it with Molecule 01 :)

StackMaintain

Nice fragrance but unfortunately smells like burnt rubber/petrol on my skin😪😪😭. Selling a full 75ml unused bottle. Message me if interested. Please sample this on skin before purchasing. You have been warned!.

Dove01

I’m in love…..again. I decided to try this yesterday as I am such a huge fan of Bois Doré. You know that feeling when you spray a scent for the first time and you instantly love it? Well, that’s what happened to me. Love at first sniff which grew steadily throughout the day. A gourmand delight with strong almond, vanilla and something fruity. The notes say lemon but it’s not obviously lemon. Soft and creamy - I adore this. Maybe even more than Bois Doré. I think this one has the edge.

ImmiMathiassen

I’m addicted to this. I overspray every evening. 2. bottle now. My baby.

Allinug

A blind buy but the notes oh... I really thought I would love this. I smell almond and wood and I don't like it and it's so strong and triggers a headache. I sprayed it on my husband and oh dear on him it's that beautiful smell I wanted on me. On him it's almond and vanilla, I gave him the bottle.

Mooniq

A nice scent. On my skin I get woody almonds and musk, a bit unisex towards male'ish, but I have weird skintype, I know. Not almondsweet, but very nice. I think it will be perfect to layer with a sweet or flowery scent.

scentofbuket

Fun fact: When I was strolling in a store, I saw Van Cleef perfumes section and approached to try one of the testers. I picked up this one immediately, thinking it's actually Bois Dore (which was recommended by some of youtubers and I was curious to try) and soon came to realise it wasn't. I instantly fell in love with the smell, took the tester paper with me to see it's performance throughout the day. During the day, I smelled the tester paper like a junkie and amazed by the longevity and the evolution of the smell.

It's not a very complex scent but is a perfect balance of almond, vanilla, musk and cedar (I don't get any citrus) and it projects amazingly clean, sweet, gourmandy, creamy, woody, even a bit soapy, OMG I can't even put the words for this. I just fell in LOVE.

Surprisingly enough, I thought I might have found "the one!" and immediately ordered a bottle. My quest for a signature scent is a never ending process and every time I love a perfume, I usually think about the next one that might overpower the current loves and I really want my signature smell to be unpopular among people around me. But this one is going to keep its place for a loong time and I hope stays low profile enough so that it doesn't get popular, but loved enough so that it doesn't get discontinued ever.

I have sampled it from the bottle at home as well. And not kidding, even the room smelled amazing whole day, although I sprayed it on my wrist once only.

Longevity - 10+ hours
Sillage - enormous!

ayken

I can definitely smell the almond and the vanilla in it because they are the most prominent ones that my nose picks up usually. as you can tell from the list even the blend is super simple yet it manages to smell so rich, savoury that makes you feel confident in your skin, the more i smell it the more i love it. the almond is really nice in it almost the type you would taste in a cake. i will get this for suuuuuuure.
also super strong like all of the van cleefs perfumes mostly
sweet but powdery and musky, a heavy perfume to those who know how to wear a strong fragrance, this could outwear you if you are not that confident

zind

I am only writing this based on a couple of sprays from a tester. It is gorgeous, but I kept stuffing my nose in because it is so, so familiar to me. Then it hit me, it is very close to Nubica, except the opening had almond instead of patchouli and Bois D'amande is more woody. I just love this. IMO it's a lot more feminine than Bois Dore which I own and love as well. I sure wouldn't mind a whole bottle! Not very almondy, but mmmmm.. it's lovely

Pixiedust2

Wearing this today for the first time. Started out with a strong odor of mildew, just like my grandma's basement! In a short time, lovely woody notes emerged, sweetened with vanilla. As per usual with my ridiculous skin, I'm getting no almond. I wish it was here, as I'm finding this a linear wood scent. It's blended very well. I smell cedar and some other wood note(s) but it's not an iso e super bomb by any means. It might be there, but I'm very sensitive to it and I don't smell even a trace. In that respect, it's a great wood. Sweet from the vanilla, cozy, decent sillage, doesn't smell cheap. There is the tiniest hint of lemon but it evaporated quickly and for that I'm thankful. Overall a very nice scent, more masculine IMO, but no almond here for me.

I agree with the person who is getting BR540vibes. While it is not a dupe, it sure is similar. I am not a fan. I was hoping for more vanilla/ almond creaminess like others have mentioned. It’s a woodier BR540 on My skin.

utterly delicious. My first wearing I wasn't sure as the top notes reminded me of something else however as soon as my nose began to pick up the undertones as well it drew me in. I have nothing like it, it is snuggly but fresh, creamy yet nutty, it has a slight woodiness on me the right amount in my opinion. A really lovely blend that is totally unisex not being girly or masculine. I love it, I feel it is quite a personal scent not announcing itself before you enter a room but it is intriguing and moreish and a complete wrist sniffer for me. It is blended the way Orchidee vanille is into a truly beautiful perfume, I don't wish to smell like a particular thing, I just want to smell amazing and I personally think this does that.

Absolutely stunning blend of notes. The musk, vanilla, and almonds dance together and form a grey cloudy type of feel. The lemon and cedar wood take a backseat to support the ever so fragile and fluffy scent. It's versatile and not distinct as a perfume, but i think that's what makes the scent. A gentle cloud passing by on any given day.

This could be described as a more mature version of This Is Her by Zadig&Voltaire. Absolutely stunning! The opening is a very unexpected cheeky blast of citrus that doesn't last long. Still it's refreshing! The dry down is cedar almond and a soft vanilla, very well blended. The musky notes are soft too. It's like a warm sweet hug around me. After half an hour it becomes a skin scent but people near you still notice it. I love the perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur and almost all of her creations!

Gorgeous! I get major BR540 vibes from this during the drydown. Not the same but both are going in the same direction. Bois d'Amande quite woody with more almond notes. Same high level of sweetness, but whereas BR540 is synthetic, this is natural and smooth. Complex and more masculine. I actually really love to layer with Molecule 01.

Very warm and cozy. I will get a lot of use of this at night and during the cooler months for sure!

The wood completely takes over Bois d'Amande for me.
The first couple of seconds i get a burst of lemon/ almond but then that very quickly disappears and i get wood wood and more wood. It is too harsh (and almost headache inducing at first). It is only after a couple of hours, at complete dry down do i get some vanilla musk, but by then it is so faint that i don't think it is worth the woody wait.

I blind bought this because i am a fan of orchidee vanille and i like/ have Bois Dore and i would say this is closer to Bois Dore although Bois Dore is definitely sweeter and more unisex. Bois D'Amande is more of a masculine fragrance IMO and i am really disappointed because i thought the almond and vanilla (my fave notes) would stand out more.

I would definitely recommend for someone who likes dark, woody smells with a hint of sweet vanilla.
I won't be keeping my bottle.

Incredibly blended with a woody almond accord. A sense of sophistication with each spray. Bois d'Amande truly reflects the imagery one gets as if being read off the note list. Sweet balanced almonds, cedar wood, vanilla beans, musk with an interesting lemon freshness. I find the freshness quite familiar. Happy that this has crossed my path may it never be retired or discontinued.
