Dr. Hottie

Rate this book
From Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestseller Vivian Wood comes a sexy new STANDALONE romance novel.

I’m not a big believer in romance. I’m certainly not the type of woman to get drunk, meet a guy, and go to friggin Reno later that night to get married.

But Dr. Hottie himself, AKA Jack Stratton, changed all that. Even if it was all a lie.

Okay, so our relationship is as fake as a bad spray tan. It’s all to show up our mutual exes, make them realize how much they miss us. Can I help it if he’s so ridiculously handsome that simply being near him makes me blush? And when he smiles at me…

Maybe I should’ve nicknamed him Dr. Panty Dropper.

And I admit, part of me is head-over-heels in love with him. How can I not be when he keeps telling me we have to spend time together? We have to keep up the charade. We have to kiss in private so it looks good when we do it for show.

When my ex finally gets the message a month after our “wedding”, I’m left with two options. Go back to the man who the whole town says is right for me… or gather all my courage and strike off in a new direction. A direction that includes a new future that Jack and I make, together.

What happens when your younger sister talks you in to going out? Well if your Addison Fuller , the Addison Fuller who stopped her life when her mom passed away and came home from college to help take care of her sister and father and run the family diner; you cave and you go out. You drink way too much Trequila and champagne and wake up with a miserable hangover in a Reno hotel room with the new hot doctor in town and two wedding rings. However, what could have turned out to be a horrible mistake ; eventually becomes the best thing that ever happened to each other.
Jack Stratton and Addy Fuller are from different walks of life ; Jack from a wealthy family's where being anything less than a Doctor or lawyer was not tobe considered ,but with the money came distance . Addy's family may not have money just to throw around , buy anything they want, travel whenever they want but the love was always present. So for Jack , Addy with her warm heart, her adorable blushes , determination and beautiful curves slowly becomes Jack's everything She keeps him rooted and showed him what real affection was. In turn Jack helped balance Addy's life adding a bit of spice, adventure and becoming her rock.

As always, Ms wood has written an incredible story , giving us drama, hot sexy scenes some comedic interludes and eventually bringing us to an HEA . I was fortunate enough to woman arc copy , but had I not I would not have missed this one for the world!

A Vivian wood book never ceases to surprise! With every book I go in thinking I know the outcome but nope! Each book is full of surprises (some good, some gut wrenching) that add to the story making it one of a kind!!

Jack and Addy come from two different worlds and at times it seems those differences work against them. The reality though is they balance each other out! Addy is Jacks anchor! She keeps him level headed and shows him what true affection can be like! Jack is Addy’s adventure! He shows her that it’s ok to step out of your comfort zone and have fun! Together they are fire but will that fire run out and consume them in the end or can these two let go and find the love they deserve!
What started out as a simple arrangement just might be the adventure that both need in life!

Tequila + Champagne = marriage + memory loss!

In this fantastic book with some comedic moments Addison Fuller and Jack Stratton awaken with no idea of what happened the night before, and, wedding rings on their left hands. I might not exactly class this as a rom-com, but the story was hot and entertaining to say the least!

Addison Fuller is weighed under with the familial responsibilities that aren’t hers. Living with a younger sister, who is more interested in parties, and father who spends way too much time with alcohol, it is Addy who cleans house, pays the bills and manages the family restaurant. Bossed into a night out on the Fourth of July by her younger sister, Addison finds herself in the company of one of the new doctors in town. Not only is he hot, but he’s very amenable to the idea of tequila shots and salutes to all that is worth celebrating!

Jack Stratton, the Dr Hottie in question is so much more of a gorgeous book boyfriend than his name might suggest. He’s new to town, he has a sexy Australian accent, and, he is a complete gentleman. Any man who is going to fossick for a hair tie and fasten a woman’s hair back while she is yodelling into the great white telephone, is a keeper in my book. The man is romantic, sensitive, considerate, and, ok, he is a unicorn. And one that Addison has married, but has no memory of.

Being talked out of pursuing an immediate annulment may not be Addy’s idea of sensible, but, Jack has a way about explaining his ideas that makes them seem...right. Next thing, she’s agreed to several months, and is moving in with him. It’s hard to remember that it was all a front.

Vivian Wood has written a great story of a fake relationship, extreme parental interference, and, a reality that many people face. But, it is the book world reality that makes our lives so much better, and Vivian has certainly done that. Check the book out for yourself. 5 Stars.

Wow!  This book was a fun and dirty read.  Dr. Hottie title is perfect for this book, because he is a hottie and knows how to use it.  Yum!  ;)

Addison is dealing with a lot in her life.  Her mother died and her father is an alcoholic.  Not to mention that her sister is not ready for being responsible.  Everyday it is the same routine.  Clean house, pay bills, run restaurant, take care of sister and alcoholic father.  When her sister suggests for her to meet her out for drinks she thinks what the hell, why not!

When Addy walks in her sister is at a table with some new people.  Two of the new people are hot doctors who just moved to town to run the new ER hospital in town.  Addy is struck by how handsome one of the doctors named Jack is.  As her and the new doctor flirt Addy's ex shows up with his new girl.  So she orders shots.  Lots of shots.

When Addy wakes she discovers she is now in Reno with a stranger and a ring on her finger.  Holy Shit!  How much did she drink?

This book was hilarious.  I had so much fun reading it.  I laughed, yelled and cried.  A fast paced read with wonderful characters and story plot.  Not your typical hot doctor book.  Vivian takes it to a whole other level.

Jack and Addy are adorable.  They are both from very different worlds yet I would say they balance each other out.  She is Yin to his Yang.  Where Jack is adventurous, Addy is level-headed, a mother hen of sorts.  I enjoyed them trying to fight the love that developed between them.  It was very entertaining.

I suggest this book to anyone looking for  an entertaining and hot read.    Because the hot doctor Jack is the definition of fine.  Help me! Help me! I think I need a doctor.  ;)

I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this book, I laughed and I thought it was very steamy. I loved Jack and Addy, I thought they were great together. It was obvious they were so in love, even though they were the only ones who didn't know it. I loved how Jack brought Addy to life, making her leave her comfort zone and do things she normally wouldn't. I loved how Addy made Jack more serious and not just a carefree playboy. Jack and Addy met one night in a bar and got very drunk. The next morning they woke up together and were married, with no memory of how it happened. They decided to stay married in hopes of making their exes jealous and winning them back. In the process of that, they fall in love and deny it to themselves. Addy also deals with an alcoholic father and running the family restaurant and Jack deals with a surprise visit from his snobby mother. This was a great read that will make you want to laugh and cry. I loved it, although it make you wonder why single people are allowed to drink tequila. Good one.

“If Addison Fuller could summarize her experience with drinking tequila, it would probably go like this: tequila gives you rug burn on your face, and a ring on your finger.”

This quote, reeled me in from the second I read it. It holds truth and like tequila, lingers on your lips like a memory almost forgotten. Most can relate to a crazy tequila story or two, and knows it leads to bad decisions and a night of delirious fun that passes in a blur.

Addison and Jack meet at a bar on Fourth of July that he sister pressured her into. Jack is tall dark and handsome. Not to mention an emergency room doctor. Addison is your typical mother hen older sibling. She looks after her drunk father and little sister after their mother passes away.

Their worlds couldn’t be any more different, Jack comes from a family of doctors and money. Addison has the weight of the world on her shoulders, running her family’s restaurant.

When the wake up the next day in Reno, rings on their fingers after a night fueled with tequila and beer. They’ve got a dilemma on their hands. Deciding they would play up their “marriage” to make their ex’s jealous and get Jack’s pressuring mother off his back, it leads to a whirlwind of emotions. A love that flourished and grew as they fight off the inevitable of truly falling in love.

The story is fast paced but beautiful. There’s still a depth of detail that allows you to picture the scenes in the book as you read along. I absolutely loved the back and forth humor between Addison and Jack. I could read this book over and over and still be enraptured by their story.

A hottie Doctor with a BIG.... heart!
Well, there is one underneath the hard shell of Jack Stratton Australian ER doc with self-confidence some find disarming. When Addy ( Addison ) Fuller meets the charming hunk of a man at the local favorite dive bar, Cuervo helps bond them in ways they might not have gotten to without that liquid courage or is it liquid trouble and suffering? Now that they've got one another's backs, they're going to use this time to the fullest of their advantage.
How long is too long to keep up their rousing game before people get hurt?
Emotional pandemonium! Another book by Vivian Wood that had me talking to my Kindle!
Oy vey, it was touch and go for a bit there!
Here's the deal..
These two sexy, sincere, yet so C.O.N.F.U.SE.D for their age folks have a beautiful sweet and sad blooming romance. For the love fictional beings everywhere, I wanted to reach into my Kindle and shake a few characters after I felt like they've been bounced enough. Ask them what the ---- they're doing?! Why must you be so cruel?! Too much?
GAH! I was a goner.
Couple that with the break my heart scenarios ~ I was a puddle of love me some more of this book goo! Yeah, I, like these characters seem to be glutton for punishment!
Love to hate, love to take away the pain, love to love- this tale was all kinds of amazing - One I could not take my bulging eyes off of until the very end!
Well Done!

Yes, there have been a lot of hot doctor books, and a lot of “I got so drunk, I can’t remember anything and woke up married" books, so why should you read another one? Because 1) it’s Vivian Wood, 2) this one has some interesting, unique twists, 3) Dr. Hottie is not only steamy but has a ton of heart, and 4) it’s Vivian Wood. Okay, if you’ve never read Ms. Wood's work numbers one and four won’t mean much, but this book is really fantastic and great fun to read! If you haven’t read her work, this book is a great introduction to her because it has a little of everything in it. I loved all of these characters and even found myself liking characters I was supposed to hate. Ms. Wood managed to work her magic and made the most despised character likeable in the end.

I always get excited when I see an early copy of Ms. Wood's book arrive because I know it will be a great reading experience, and this one didn’t disappoint! The main characters were strong, complex, realistic, loveable and inherently flawed, which only endeared them more to me. The storyline was interesting as well as entertaining and easily kept my attention so I flew through the book, eager to see what happened next. With smoking chemistry, a nice dose of humor, a few surprises and a ton of low-angst heart, Dr. Hottie is sure to please!

There was so many things I liked about this book I can't begin to explain all of them.

The first being, I could relate to Addison on so many levels (ok maybe not the getting hitched to a stranger thing) but on a more personally level. Addison is someone who carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is the one that has kept things going for her family for too long. The guilt that this woman has was really hard to read but yet I got her. She has people in her life that weren't taking responsibility so she had to. If she stopped paying the mortgage what would happen to her dad or sister?

Jack was exactly the kind of guy she needed in her life. He was a serious man at work when he needed to be but he also knows how to let go and take a risk not knowing the outcome. I personally would have liked to see him stand up to his mother a little more but I understand why he doesn't.

Watching these two interact was fun to read. I will say that my favorite part of this story was so small but it packed such a huge punch to me was at the end and without giving away any spoilers was when Jack grabbed and help Addison's hand. This part of the story had me balling like a baby. I loved that she had found someone to help carry the burden.

Holy hotness! Addy has not much of a personal life and thinks romance is not for her thanks to her cheating ex and the restaurant she runs for her ailing father. Her more carefree sister begs her to come out for the 4th of July and she reluctantly agrees. She ends up getting drunk with the new smoking hot Aussie Dr. Jack Stratton loves being a Dr and is happy to be away form his overbearing mother and his ex - another Dr. He is instantly attracted to Addy, as much as she is to him, and after a long night of drinking, to get back and forget their exes, they end up in Reno. The big shock comes in the morning when they realize they are married! Despite their intense attraction, Addy thinks its a disaster. She is shocked to hear that Jack wants to keep up the ruse, and she agrees. He is smitten with her and tries everything to keep her. There are times when you want to slap Addy for being a bitch, but what they go through makes them finally realize they want and need each other. This is a smoking hot story filled with guilt, anger, misunderstandings but so much passion - I just loved it!

YES SO YUMMY. I absolutely loved this one. Not only was it about a woman fighting back from a past but a hot yummy doctor that changes her world. I absolutely love Vivian and her books. This is top on the list for me right now when it comes to her books. I absolutely love Jack and Addy together. Their characters have some amazing chemistry. Hot and loveable. I absolutely love how these two got together and stayed together through everything that was thrown their way. Just a very well written little love story. With some great hotness thrown in. I highly recommend this one.

“If Addison Fuller could summarize her experience with drinking tequila, it would probably go like this: tequila gives you rug burn on your face, and a ring on your finger.”

Addison Fuller is a serious lady. Working hard at her family’s restaurant while her dad stays drunk, she rarely takes time for herself because she is always taking care of those around her. When her sister Kenzie convinces her to go out to the local sports bar for the 4th of July, she never expects to be left alone at a table with a complete (but utterly sexy) stranger. A few hours of small talk and A LOT of alcohol later, she’s awoken by Dr. Hottie in a way she never expected.

Dr. Jake Stratton never expected to find a woman like Addy attractive. The complete opposite of his usual type, he couldn’t pin down what exactly drew him to her. Then after a night of conversation and quite a bit of alcohol, he wakes up in a hotel room in Reno with her by his side. Decidedly making the most of an awkward situation, he and Addy take a plunge into a fake relationship, but even the best laid out plans have to take a bow to fate.

This is the first book I have read by Vivian Wood and I absolutely loved it. This book is maddening in all the best ways. The sensual scenes are hot, and the tension is immense.

This book was absolutely fantastic!!! I received an ARC for an honest review and I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of this book. Dr. Hottie is a page turner and I absolutely adored Jack and Addy! Jack is from a wealthy upbringing, where Addy isn't. These two balance each other out in all the good ways, Jack makes Addy more adventurous and Addy helps Jack to be more level headed. These two meet at a bar when Addison's sister Kenzie invites her to a Fourth of July party at the bar. Addy gives in and winds up meeting Jack and they automatically click. After a long night of drinking they wake up to the unthinkable. To avoid giving you spoilers, I just will have to say that they have an incredible journey full of decisions, happiness, sadness, and twists and turns ahead of them. I read this full length stand alone novel in one sitting. I truly couldn't put it down. I had read only one other Vivian Wood book before this and can honestly say she will be one of my "one click" authors on Amazon from now on. Absolutely 5 star rating!

Jack and Addy had instant chemistry and I absolutely loved watching their relationship bloom from fake to finally admitting that they do love each other! It was an emotional read but with a very happy ending!!! Once the first page was read I couldn't put it down until the last page was done!!! I can't wait to see what else Vivian Wood's has in store for us!

Addison, or Addy as she's called has taken on the responsibility of running the family restaurant after her mother died, and her father has fallen farther and farther into himself. So when her sister actually manages to talk her into going out with her and some friends, she meets Jack, or Dr. Hottie as we come to know him. One drunken night and a trip to Reno leads to a marriage that neither remember. Jack, is in Tahoe because it's a far cry from Melbourne Australia, and far away from his mom. When they wake up married they each have their own reason for keeping it going, but after only a short period of time the marriage starts to feel more and more real to them both. It doesn't come without its own hardships and complications though. This book has some emotion in it for sure. Some that hits your heart and some that hits your hormones. This is a sweet, sexy, at times very emotional, good read and one I'd recommend reading. I received this book as an arc for an honest review and this is me honest.

I just love Vivian's books! They are like a breath of fresh air! They are fast paced and a quick read! Which sometimes I need!

This is the story of Jack and Addison. Their chemistry is fantastic and after a drunken night they end up married!

Addison has had the weight of the world on her shoulders for a long time and to add insult to injury, you have a douche of an ex to contend with. She handles it with grace and strength, but you can tell it weighs her down sometimes with her responsibilities. She needs someone to share her burdens with, even though she doesn't see it right away.

Jack is privileged, he's a doctor and he's an adrenaline junkie. But underneath all of that, he is a man with a bit of alpha swagger to keep you coming back for more. He is the shoulder that Addy needs to lean on.

I really enjoy reading Vivian's words and falling into the world she creates with her books.

Wow! This is a great book!

I cannot remember that I laughed this much while reading a book!
The dialogues often are simply hilarious…

If there is a day one feels bad or depressed they have to read THIS book to feel better…

But to reduce this book to a mere comedy would not do it any justice.
There also is some drama, with protagonists feeling insecure about their own feelings and their feelings for each other, or family problems that need to be resolved…
And it would not be a book written by this amazing author if there were not some sizzling hot erotic tension or some steamy scenes included…

This book is pure entertainment!

Dr. Hottie had me hooked from the first few pages and I couldn't put it down. It is a page turner for sure.
The chemistry between Jake and Addy is there from the start. Jake (Jacob) is from Australia and from a wealthy family. Addy (Addison) Is from a small town in America and is helping with the family and the family business. The ups and downs, twists and turns that go on is something that you can relate to on many levels. At the start it was convenient for them to be together and then it goes from there.

Vivian Woods books are awesome and I am so grateful to be able to read this book as apart of the ARC group. This is a brilliant book and I would recommend that you get this book and read it

Jack Stratton, Australian doctor and Addison Fuller, managing and working her parents restaurant.

What starts out as a way for Addy to get back at her ex-boyfriend by flirting with and pretending that Jack, whom she just met at a bar, was her boyfriend, ends up with Jack and Addy getting hitched in Reno and neither remembers the occasion. So, instead of getting an annulment right away, they decide to use each other to make each others exes jealous.

There were SO many times that I wanted to throat punch Addy. She would get really made at Jack and treat him like crap and he could never figure out why. Addy had many irons in the fire. Her dads situation, the restaurant, her sister and now Jack. Can she keep up with it all?

This was such a great read. You will love it.

I just finished this book and want to read it all over again.

Dr Jack Stratton, aka 'Dr Hottie' meets Addison Fuller at a bar. Next morning they are married, tequila shots are involved (do I have to say more?). Big mistake or best thing they ever did?

This is just the first of many interesting events Jack and Addy find themselves involved in. An overbearing mother, alcoholic father, irresponsible sister, jerk of an ex, an ex who wants their man back, and an ending that I was not expecting. All this leads to a book you will not want to put down.

I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest opinion.

I absolutely loved this fiery, sexy, tense-filled story by the incredible Vivian Wood! The chemistry between the two main characters Jack (aka Dr. Hottie) and Addison are off the charts! After one crazy drunken night, the two end up marrying. Instead of getting an immediate annulment, Jack convinces Addy to keep up the charade for a bit longer to make both of their exes jealous. Little do either of them realize they will soon be in too deep. This was one hot romance that will have you laughing, crying and sweating throughout. I highly recommend this author and this book.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

When Addison Fuller agreed to go to the bar with her sister, she never imagined that she would meet someone like Dr. Jacob "Jack" Stratton. Much less get so drunk that she would end up married to him with no recollection of it.
Unfortunately, for me, that was pretty much the end of the good parts of this story till the last couple of chapters. As much as I loved the characters and the concept of this story it just did not work. There were so many things that didn't make sense or had no details almost like it was just kind of thrown together as an afterthought. Like here's an idea but that's all you get with no explanations or follow-up. And there are so many times that you just shake your head and wonder why. Why did this happen? Or why did they do this? Or why do they say something in one part of the book and then say something completely different later on about the same thing?
Although I didn't much care for this book like I said I loved the characters and I would love to see more of them in the future. Especially Rosalie and Phillip. And I can't wait to see what this author has for us in the future.

Another 5* read from Vivian Wood❣

Dr Hottie it HOT!

Jack is fun, adventurous and down right HOT and when he wakes up next to Addy (his new bride) his world is turned upside down but instead of getting their marriage annulled he suggests staying married for a while to shake up their ex's it's clearly not going to be long before his feelings towards her change but will Addy feel the same way? 《They do have Hot chemistry thats for sure!》 But she has her own problems to deal with and throwing a marriage into the mix only stresses her more! Will she want the same things as Jack or will her doubts and insecurities win ....READ TO FIND OUT!
I totally recommend this book i loved it as I do with all Vivian's books❣

There is nothing sexier than to play doc-parient but when you have the real thing is even better.
Both Addy and Jack are running from the day-to-day lives and find themselves in a situation that can be beneficial for both.
Their story doesn’t develop “normal” but with evey day that passes they will start notice there is something that was missing and little by little they start finding it.

Their differences, that at first made Addy a little bitter, at the end, will complement the other.

Jack was what Addy really needed to start living up and stop worrying about others.
Love their adventures and would love to know more about that future.

Dr Hottie is a five star must read! I really loved this book. Jack and Addy meet at a bar, hit the tequila shots pretty hard. The next day they wake up in a hotel together, married in Vegas. So instead of getting an annulment, Jack suggests they stay married for awhile to get his mother off his back and make their exes jealous. I love the chemistry between them. It’s a fantastic well written story. I would love to read more jack and Addy. I highly recommend it. I received an ARC for an honest review.

This book jumps right in, but then takes you on a journey to get to the HEA. Addison and Jack think the loves of their lives need to see what they are missing, but maybe in the end Jack and Addy don't really care about anyone else but each other. I loved the storyline and the felt the characters are very dynamic. This is a sexy, at times funny, flirty, sweet and chemistry filled romance that is sure to pull you in and captivate you till the last page. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

The story of Addy and Jack is full of twists and turns. Sadness, anger, perceived betrayal, jealousy, happiness, and every other emotion in between. They start off unconventional and there are a lot of unsaid things that cause issues along the way. However, the sexual spark could not be denied and helped cement their love together despite all the outside influences. I loved the ancillary characters as well. A great read with plenty of story outside the bedroom.

I really enjoyed this full length stand alone story from one of my favorite authors! Jack is an easy guy to fall for the way he is written. I loved his humor and the back and forth between him and Addison. Addison was definitely my kind of person, so caring and giving of herself, she always puts herself last, everyone else's needs come before hers. Its heart breaking and you really want her to get her happy ever after, I can't remember anyone who I felt was more deserving of a fairytale than this woman. It wasn't a typical 'fake marriage' troupe and there were plenty of side stories that you won't see coming. Definitely worth the read!
