This stuff is very strong. Three sprays is still really strong after 11 hours. Two sprays would've been better I think. It's a room filler too. It's kind of stark on its own, Mid day I sprayed 1 spray of Pour Monsieur and that kind of softened it, but it was pretty quickly overpowered. But I'm sure this'll be great for layering, maybe with something a little sweet.

I also have Black Musk and this one is easier to wear and I'm guessing it'll be better for layering.

A nice one. Balanced, warm and a very non-Western fragrance.
Montale's base oud accord often reminds me of ballpoint pen ink. Here, it's present again, but subdued just to the right amount so that it doesn't spoil what a good musk should always aim for: escaping attention, only subconsciously leaving a trail of confidence.

A blind buy and what a disappointment. Looking at the notes online, I bought, and was expecting a strong musk fragrance (I had something like Jovan Musk in my mind, sadly it lasts like a minute on me), what I got is a very average liquid which is not at all fit for the rate tag. Maybe it will grow on me but the first impression is a wet rag. It reminds me of thunderstorm by Demeter. Very alcoholy, chemically created, sweet powdery smell. And not in a good way. Had to spray Calvin Klein obsession on my PJs to get a night feeling coz this dude is very weak on me.

I sampled this a few years ago and loved it and instantly ordered a 100ml , but sadly I just never got that feeling again from it ,I I’ve not worn it for over a year and thought about selling it as I just found the box whilst cleaning. Anyway I dug my bottle out and sprayed my hand and arm and a couple to the bare chest …….
I smell bloody awesome , I’m not great with notes I just smell very clean , it reminds me of some rose fragrances and does feel a bit feminine so some men might not get it ,, but I wear anything like a boss lol. It’s very cold here in England so I’m gonna go far a walk later and spray a couple more before I leave and see how this does out in Baltic northern England haha.
I honestly feel its an opulent fragrance and only rich people should smell like this , I could choose to feel like I have imposters syndrome BUT,
Nope I’m gonna rock it like a boss and strut through my rough council estate haha

My new favourite! For me this is very pleasant and it reminds me of something from Amouage, can't put my finger on it . Maybe someone can help?

I hated this fragrance when I first got it. I have black aoud, red aoud and aoud musk. Wearing loud fragrances is a guilty pleasure of mine and I don't think it gets louder than montale. After some digging and reading people's comments on musk to musk I was convinced it was my next purchase and that it was gonna fill rooms ahead of me while I was miles away, but I never stopped to think that maybe these people I was reading on forums hadn't had any experience with anything more beastly than this fragrance so to say I was disappointed when I got this would be a massive understatement. I even initiated a refund from ebay because I thought I had been ripped off.

After a couple days I let my wife and her friend sample it, surely it was going to validate everything I had been thinking right? Nope. The exact opposite. She loved it, THEY loved it. She HATES every other montale/mancera fragrance I own I can't wear them around her if I've applied it within the last 4 hours but she loved this chemical nasty disgusting "musk to musk" fake I thought I had. Side not; my wife and I have 0 on common when it comes to fragrances, our tastes couldn't be more different.

So I've been testing it here and there for months and have come to realize this is actually very VERY nice. The ONLY powdery fragrance I'm ok with. It's a bit sweet and powdery and clean. I've smelled real deer musk, I have some at my desk right now and not 1 single scent has ever matched it synthetically and I doubt ever will but at this point musk labeled fragrances aren't aiming to do that anymore in my opinion, they're making an accord with a certain vibe we all kinda recognize.

I'd give it an 8 out of 12, takes some getting used to but it really opens up into something beautiful once you've work it enough times

Not bad,i feel three layers equally , soft spicy, powderet musk ,syrupy sweetness in one ,warm daily musky, voluptuous oriental,as i said not bad, nothing striking ,but a pleasand, comfortable perfume :)

This is a great musk, dirty & sexy. It is different - and better - than most musks I have smelt, being pungent and spicy. The very dominant musk is well complemented by nutmeg and warm woody notes.

I think Musk to Musk was a perfect name for this scent! When wearing it, without looking at the notes, I actually felt like it was two separate musk accords. The more I've tested it, the more I realize it's a scent similar to musk in the top, which is comprised of the other notes, that dries down to a softer synthetic musk note in the base (all musk is synthetic btw, but I particularly like Montale's choice musk note as it dries down). The texture changes drastically, as does the scent from the start to the finish. Although the opening scent is a bit loud, the base note, which smells more like more natural musk, is much softer.

Overall, the scent is very clean, albeit a bit metallic in the beginning, which some won't like, but in this genre, it's great! It reminds me a lot of Chopard Musk Malaki, Bond Signature, and a bunch of other musk themed fragrances, but this one is for the true lover of that musk note. The actual musk note is the same one you'll find in Montale's other "Musk" scents, like Aoud Musk etc. Definitely worth a try if you love that musk note!

It starts funny, sort of leathery, smoky rubber but just after a couple of minutes turns into phenomenal uplifting smell.Got tons of compliments.Love it!

ParfumAmour

This is very misnamed as a musk. I get a horrible chemical smell, very off putting, I could never use this. Smells like some kind of pesticide.

Pianomelody

I LIKE!!! Strange, noble, and very oud! long evolution... is very powerful at first, you have to wait a while before the moss is out .. the bottom becomes more 'soft' with moss, but the note Oud is always very present, in everything! Not bad, but I do not know if it ever will buy .. for now I use my sample .. then I'll see if buying a bottle or not. :). For me,can fit for autumn .. it would be ideal!

Ok so this has the same oud rose feel as mancera the aoud even tho no rose is listed.
this is less headache inducing but still a very strong oud rose combo to me?..
can be very cloying so apply with caution nothing new or groundbreaking ehh 3.5/10 smell
8.5 sillage

This is good.
Opens slightly spicy and musk making lives up to the market.
Beautiful spicy oriental composition.

Musk to...Musk? I don't smell any musk at all, just some dusty metallic oud smelling like a knife in an old cabinet. Then again "musk" is one of those terms that is often thrown around in perfumery used for describing a mixture of materials, rather than the actual animalic compound. "Musk" could mean anything.

DENIULTRAS

I just tried it, and the feedback will be hot! I tried White Musk by Tesori d'Oriente, but me, I'm very much reminiscent of Ashley Musk Allys even reminds me a bit on my Krizia Time Uomo but we have to note that in contrast to the above, though more subtle, and that is very volatile, though, I put a lot, but again, but it seems that such 'nature of the perfume, not pushy, gentle, yet elegant enough in my opinion representative representative so called musk perfume, now I wear it, but I'm not crazy about them, but given that this is only my first, sorry 2(maybe some more), review Niche in the class, it may be a little biased, but this is my perception of the perfume, and as such I've shared with you, and I repeat, is quite gentle, and relatively linear, so it is not required, some further comments, in my opinion.

Labaloo

Agree with the former commentators: this is much more of an oudh fragrance than musk- oudh-rose, in fact... which is nice, but there are already so many others with this theme... several.others.

HappyShopper123

The description of this Montale is pretty spot on. This isn't a gourmand musk like Frederic Malle's Musc Ravageur or clean like Kiehls Musk No 1. Musk to Musk is an altogether spicier affair. I only pick up a hint of musk from time to time. On top of this base is a very woody spicy scent. The oud note is very resinous. It's very masculine and warm, but perhaps to masculine for my tastes.
