The dry down smells like fresh rose, sweet juicy orange and vanilla? Never would have guessed, looking at the notes. It's quite beautiful, wish the honey and spices would have stayed for longer tho.
Longevity seems pretty good, but it sits quite close to the skin.

thatbitch

Better than many niche perfumes on the market. Don't judge it by its opening. The dryness is so delicious that I want to smell myself all the time. That addictive woodiness, mouth-watering honey and unique rose... ahh, I love it! It definitely deserves much more recognition. Thank you Amouage. Best regards to the perfumer.

laurenruth

The opening is a bit challenging, but it smells perfect when it dries down. This perfume definitely deserves a better score. I haven't been this impressed by a scent in a long time. The perfume is definitely addictive as the perfumer said. You should definitely give it a try. My favorite Amouage. 10/10!!! EASILY.

qianqian

I love the opening, but the middle notes remind me of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. I am OK with that scent but definitely not as much as like. Have to give this one a pass...

chaosepher

I really like the name, the story of smoldering rocks matches the scent as a narrative.

( I can recall reading that somewhere...maybe a dream..on the website they only say this:
Crimson Rocks conjures the majesty of Al Hajar mountains in all their glory at dusk. Standing tall at the top, one is engulfed by a sweet sense of peace.)

This is a interesting rose, because the rose is there, and yet its not all about the rose.
There is his feeling of something that is hot, yet its not warm...or feeling like there is something burning.
It smells like heat, kind of like a hot pan on the stove, but not steel,.....so it gives me the feeling of a warm rock.
Its got this resin feeling, I think that's the pepper and honey creating it, But since i like resins I perceive it as some sort of resin.

-I don't find this fragrance on the sweet side, it has a nice balanced not to dry, nor sticky.
I do think this is in the same vein as Ambre Nuit, as the rose in that one is also in the center and yet not a overpowering ROSE fragrance.
I have worn both and I thought they were similar at first, and after a few wearings I can say that they are not the same. Its close though.. difference is this is more woody or earthy, AN is...well...amber base.
Apparently I have a thing for rose fragrances so for me its not redundant to have both.

-I don't get any cumin on my skin nor paper nor clothes,

-Also glad that the cinnamon is nicely balanced, its there to give this warmth not a cinnamon fragrance nor gourmand/pastry feeling

Overall I like this, but its soft an quiet, and not mind-blowing so... I don't think this is worth the price.

ckorp8

This is on the sweeter side. The rose is honied with cinnamon sprinkled all over. But the scent isn’t that strong so it’s not offensive at all. Don’t quite see the semblance to Amber Nuit. And thank goodness I didn’t get any cumin whatsoever. Kinda like this as it’s quite easy to wear, making it a daily use scent possible.

Btw the dry down is quite similar to the vanilla tone used in TF Tobacco Vanille.

Revontuli

The notes in this looked very promising, and the beautiful reviews I had read gave me hope... But things turned out very differently. I'm so glad I didn't blind-buy this.

There is no cumin listed, but this is pure cumin on my skin until it calms down. Very sharp, bitter spicy. After an hour or so, it settles down to a honey-rose, but it's too silent. Too close to the skin. Nothing strikes me as extraordinary or memorable enough.

I think it's high time that I accepted that Amouage and I are not meant for each other. The majority of the fragrances I have tried from this house has been a let down. Lyric Woman and Rose Incense will always be a love, but that's the end.

Dramaloladiva

This is gorgeous, a honeyed and spiced rose with woods in the background, absolutely gorgeous ✨✨
How have I not had this beauty on my radar until now?? I am going to enjoy this for the rest of the winter because it’s one of those scents that shines best in cold temperatures, in my humble opinion.
So glad to have this gorgeous scent in my collection 🩷❤️💜

Sereen84

This perfume is amazing! it has it all. Beautiful sweet and spicy rose with great performance! 10/10

FerretBoy

After about 5 months of wearing it, I can safely say this is wonderful. It's tangy, rosy, very spicy and woody in a very delectable way. The honey and the cinnamon definitely stand out. They make the composition smell like foodstuffs at times, but the oak base grounds the gourmand elements just enough to avoid a realistic "dessert" experience. It is close, though. The rose is felt throughout, but it plays a supporting role here, lending a dusty, floral facet to the rest of the notes. To my nose, the rose makes the whole thing smell more perfumey and elegant.

I have gotten many compliments from friends and family, but my favourite was: "you smell like a yummy library". I'm happy with my purchase and I hope I get to enjoy it for a few more weeks while the cooler weather lasts.

Embodied~Professor

Verrrry similar to Le Labo’s Rose 31. I find cumin a challenging note in perfume so neither the Le Labo nor Crimson Rocks is for me.

disturbingandpurging

Crimson Rocks is a beautiful fragrance. On the initial spray, this is almost identical to Pacoma's 1987 spice-and-honey-bomb fragrance Gatsby. When it dries down, it's very reminiscent of Frederic Malle's Musc Ravageur. These are two of my favourite fragrances so that's absolutely fine!

Smeraldina77

I am trying a small decant and to me it smells very pleasant, sweet and warm, but after 6 - 7 hours I smell something a bit synthetic.
Overall, is a very beautiful fragrance, but I would not pay full retail price for it since it did not really amaze me and I believe is a little below the usual Amouage quality. This is my personal opinion, of course.

Manepi

This is cold spicy, almost feels like "minty", and that actually was among the words I received from others. It somehow gives out soapy tone of roses. I do get Red Hot vibe comments but yes certainly it's not all that.
When oak note stands out, which is rarely the case for the freezing weather here maybe, it does give me a feminine, more daring, Side Effect kind of sent.
However, at this point, it's icy cinnamon rose I would say. Honey is a marinade, not necessarily sweet or thick. Overall, this is a beautiful perfume. It is still Amouage.
I blind bought this one and have no remorse but I would recommend you to try on first.

JetSnail22

I only feel rose oil with honey with a pinch of vanilla on my skin. It’s warm and great to smell. Very wearable and beautiful.

RottigrlNYC

On me it’s way too spicy peppery, I get cumin and pepper. It’s terrible . The worst of all newest releases. Can’t wait to scrub it off

nichoa99

The notes looked promising. Smells like cinnamon infused pinecones from Hobby Lobby, but like they went stale… and more like synthetic, plastic cinnamon.

brightsun2205

This is like having a cinnamon honey rose tea in colder climates.

fanonlamb

Often I don't get along with Amouage. We should, on paper, work; French and Middle Eastern transfused. But often the works smells messy or unpleasant.

However, I do like Crimson Rock! I think. It is a perfect name for a rough and spicy rose, tamed just a bit with honey. For me, this is a dry rose for winter.

Pez_Enelrio

Powdery rose perfectly blended with cinnamon and spiciness making it very festive

Whateverwhocares

Cinnamon, rose, pepper and honey. No doubt. Accurate scent profile. Doesn't amount to much. Has a gum extract vibe in the undertone. 'Big Red,' meets Fireball Whiskey...without the whiskey. This could have benefitted from a touch of whiskey. I'm gonna need a shot of whiskey after smelling this crap. Just kissing, it's not bad. Not good either. Just meh. Meh+

Dodiefy

Im a newbie so I'll do my best to describe my sample I received.
When I tried this for the first time, I was overwhelmed by the atomic hot cinnamon balls opening. It even reminded me of wearing my brothers Diesel plus masculine back in the day.

After a little while it began to smell dry and dusty, almost musky. Perhaps this is the honey. I can imagine the honey being thick, raw and concentrated. It settled down quickly to a sticky, spicy rose with the cinnamon ever present with a smooth woody base.

At times felt like there must be some cloves or even liquorice as there seemed to be a campherous note which cut through the sweetness to stop it ever getting sickly. I also picked up lemon an hour in, which I hadn't noticed in the opening. Interested, I looked on the website and the rose essence used has lemon facets which I think is so clever and again brings a freshness.

Initially I felt that this was a more typically masculine fragrance, but as the cinnamon faded and let the other notes shine through I think it is pretty unisex.

After a couple of wears I look forward to the beautiful drydown and I even crave the spicy opening. Lasted 8hrs+ Looking forward to trying my next Amouage sample 👌

Hennessy909

Kind of a feminine unisex. If you want the most complicated scent of rose and cinnamon, it's great. sillage and longevity are good, but not impressive. At least not like an Amouage perfume. Overall it's awesome.

SSBurn

Opening: heavy cinnamon and honey (borderline animalic “pissy”) within seconds tgat weirdness from the honey is gone. The woodiness in this is just at the base. Nothing overpowering. This overall is a jammy sweet rose with strong cinnamon with an oak wood base. I don’t get a lot of cedar thankfully. I’m a fan but it’s definitely polarizing.

An hour into dry down: husband smells like horse lineament and I can’t unsmell it. Def gives tiger balm vibes 😂

TillyWave

Amouage! Crimson Rocks! What a disappointment! Well a save for my wallet I suppose so that's the silver lining, but I'm a bit shocked a this perfume.

You see it is a strong rose, and a spiced strong rose at that ... but it's over run and RUINED by harsh woody aromachemicals. They overtake the entire composition and that's pretty much all I can smell.

Unfortunately, that's my review. You can't load up these crap wood bases and expect to have a perfume with any sense of nuance. What happened, Amouage? WE USED TO BE BEAUTIFUL.

Angelic3432

I only have four perfumes from Amouge in my collection but find their scents very interesting even if they're not my favorite. The rose note is not very prominent which I am happy about as it's my least fav flower used in perfumes. The wood and honey is very prominent though. I wish the cinnamon was a bit more. I feel this leans masculine but am good wearing it. It may grow on me like Overture did.

Nessers

My personal opinion about Crimson Rocks is not reflective of the majority of the community. I’m not a big fan of rose at all. It doesn't matter what you do to it. It's fine, but it's never great in my opinion. You can never get rid of the cliche essence of roses as a fancy gift or elegant surprise. You have to do something really original to Break that curse. I don't think they did that here and I don't think they wanted to. For what it is, it's fine. Jammy rose and cinnamon etc.

JenAvery

I waited a bit to write my review, this fragrance is very masculine to me, I was hoping for more of a honey cinnamon rose but the base notes are very pronounced on me. I would love this scent on a man, but for me I have to use it to layer. Kinda let down, but it is a beautiful fragrance, just too masculine.

iloonytoonx

HEAVY cinnamon. Sweet spicy, for cold weather.

Bibi16

Way too much cinnamon and honey ! Headache inducing along with the rest of amouage

Adjames

I love this. Spicy honeyed rose / not too sweet, and still somewhat desolate and alone, yet warming and welcoming at the same time. I tried this is summer and it still works, although probably best for cooler nights and weather. To me, this leans more feminine. This reminds me of the spiciness of Rouge Saray, without plum and resins which I do also like. This is more woody- the brightness at the beginning allows some woods to poke through. I can smell woods throughout with rose in the backdrop, never at the front. For the confident and outspoken person that can stand on their own. Not for the weak.

Rozalina

Crimson Rocks is cozy, spicy and immediately strikes me as something one would wear in the Winter to warm up. It smells like a rich tea latte with cinnamon and honey. The rose is there but it’s overpowered by these notes.

Lili1105

Strong spicy rose covered with cloves, honey and wood, or smoke from luxury wood. Strong coffee for me. If I wrote elsewhere that there is a strong orientation, I take it back and put it here. It might sound strange, but I also smell some cherries / amaretto? Well, we won't be friends, I don't have the "balls" for this, but I have to admit that it's great when mixed. But if you are not a fan of strong opulent oriental scents, stay away from this one.

Myrtillajus

I like Crimson Rocks, a lot. An imposing and opulent rose right from the start, spicy and deep. Super sensual. It is one of those fragrances that I would be very happy to wear, I find it magnetic for my tastes. Since the creation is inspired by the Al Hajar mountains in Oman, which offer a suggestive but arid landscape, I see the image of a carnal, red rose that emerges from the rocks and is the undisputed protagonist. Really beautiful, goes in the wishlist. The "Saba with glass of wine" portrayed by Fabian Perez, extremely sensual and attracting all eyes, would wear it.

Chatulie

The smell of Indian cuisine, which is not bad when I eat it. I don't want to smell like Indian cuisine.

harperpeshhe

A nice gently spiced soapy scent, unisex leaning. Beautifully blended and exudes quality. Yet the vision and feeling it conjures is 1920’s during the prohibition where guys looking dapper met with girls in flappers and feathers all waving cigarettes and rum around enjoying the night drinking and dancing away.

lmnsvgz

Sweet, spicy, cinammon-y. Honestly less impressive that their other ones but definitely one of the most likeable if you like sweet spicy scents.

Kizzyb93

Got myself, a small tester of this, and I will say that it’s not quite what I expected. I expected the roast be a little bit more prominent.. firstspray I was taken back by the spiciness of the fragrance. You have to have an an acquired taste to actually be able to appreciate this favourites due to the pink pepper and cinnamon and oak all being the main players in this. I do get a sticky very sweet rose in the background, but it is quite faint to be honest to my nose. I just expected a higher dose of rose.
I’m not quite sure if I like this one or not, I think I might have to get a bigger Decant and test is over a longer period of time
(although something about this has thrown me off, I feel like this could be one of those ones I could love in the future much like I did with TF tobacco Vanille)

supersaiyan

Cinnamon bomb opening but it feels like some Amouage magic is missing. Their beautiful incense DNA is present mixing with the cinnamon but it lacks something… special? Smells like a dumbed down, more modern and sweeter rendition of Fate W, which had tragically been discontinued. Later on, it is slightly reminiscent of a spicy cola like Roja Creation-E Enigma Parfum Cologne. I’ll need to keep testing.

lahfeainfe

I was searching for a new signature scent when I came across this perfume. In the store, it was way out of my price range and sweeter than I wanted, so I didn't buy it and ended up with a sample instead. The chokehold this perfume has on me now is unparalleled. It lasts 24+ hours on me and even longer on my clothes (I could still smell it after they were washed). It will dry down differently on everyone, but I found the more I let it dry down the more those woody base notes really rang out. Absolutely love this and will be investing in a full-size bottle.

I highly recommend getting a tester of this if you're interested, and judge whether or not you like it by wearing it.

Bordo

I love Amouage, but this is not for me, as it reminds me too much of a grandfather's scent. Some Asian eucalyptus smelling balm called "Little Star", which was very popular in Europe some decades ago + some sour sweat of am elderly. And something else, hard to describe. Edit: I figured it out, pink pepper dominates the stage here! Performance is fine, but overall, this is not a perfume for me...

felised

I've been consistently unimpressed with pretty much everything I've tried from Amouage in the past few years, but I'm happy to have found an exception in Crimson Rocks. The initial blast of cinnamon is borderline astringent but the woody drydown is gorgeous and so addictive. I don't get an enormous amount of rose in this, leans more gourmand than floral on me. Tried it on my wrist and thought it was alright, then it jumped all the way to full bottle worthy for me just for that amazing drydown. Totally unisex, relatively long lasting and the sillage is good but not nuclear.

Sheherazad

What rose? Where??

Rose perfume Lover

This is a spicy Rose that gave me Christmas vibes, lol 😝
It’s very unique with the Rose, Cinnamon, and honey. Projects really good 👍

Retro_Futurista

I don’t understand why the fragrance has so many bad reviews. Scent is so subjective but I thought this would be a big pleaser considering this smells very close to Ambre Nuit. Like extremely similar to me. That fragrance is wildly popular and has rave reviews but this one not so much.
To me this is a gorgeous spicy amber rose. It’s heady, heavy and spicy. The main notes I get are rose honey and cinnamon. As it dries I get more of that cedar coming through. After I smelled a sample I ordered immediately. I am def on a spicy rose kick lately. I want to smell like a gothic rose and I’ve just been obsessed with the note.

Carpe Noctem

Not only is everyone's nose different but everyone's skin is too.

This sounded great, until I tried it on. The vetiver here is sour and very very strong. I can't believe vetiver isn't listed in the top three ingredients voted on, above. To me, it's the strongest out of any other note and whatever aroma chemicals in this have given me a headache now.

I get zero roses, zero cinnamon and zero honey. Just an ice pick up my head.

jjluvsm9

Having received my full bottle and given it a proper wear test now, I can say unfortunately this is very lacklustre. It’s not rich or deep at all, it’s light and airy spices and some woods in the background. Really nothing to write home about. The rose which was supposed to be central to the scent is also nowhere to be found. There is a sour note lingering constantly throughout my wear time, I imagine this to be the vetiver. This fragrance feels lacking in depth, almost unfinished, lacking in smoothness. The performance is subpar compared to all other Amouage’s I own - I have to OVERSPRAY this significantly to get any kind of scent bubble that I’d get from one or two sprays from their other perfumes I own. And at Amouage price points, I should not be over spraying anything. I am really sick of the new Amouage releases tbh, they don’t feel high quality or luxurious at all! They smell rather synthetic and very simplistic. A real disappointment from a house who were once known for pushing the boundaries of the art of perfumery.

The scent itself is simple and underwhelming but no it’s not awful. What’s truly awful is the lack of projection and sillage. This sits close to the skin from the get go. Longevity also only a couple hours and then it’s as if I sprayed nothing. I am hoping that this needs to sit for a while to macerate but, again, I would have thought Amouage perfumes would be fully macerated at this price point. It seems that my skin just eats this fragrance right up.

alit

Spectacular spicy-rose fragrance. The cinnamon and pepper in this are so strong, dry and spicy, it's literally a burning fire sprinkled with honeyed rose. Only in the drydown you get a bit of a "break" from this heat with the woody notes. At this point it does indeed give a bit of a boozy feel, rum or whiskey... Very earthy and powerful fragrance.

LSAUG

Amouge is a brand that keeps letting me down. I sample things from them and even if I like it (I've only liked 2) I don't like it enough for the price point. Most everything I sample from this brand I end up really hating. The pink pepper and atlas cedar overwhelm everything else in the composition here and you can barely tell this is a rose perfume. It is a rose perfume that needs more rose. It is extremely masculine to the point I will not be wearing the sample; I will give it to my husband or send it along to another friend that I have met here. Very, very, woody and very, very heavy w/ a sour pink pepper. I like pink pepper, but this is a pink pepper overload. I keep smelling it and I have to downgrade it to a dislike. This is a woody, spicy and aromatic fragrance w/ very little honey sweetness, not enough cinnamon and hardly any rose. Very disappointed, I expect more for this price point. Glad I got the sample super cheap. This is the last time I sample from this brand. I'm done w/ Amouge.

Edit: 2/24/23 Revisiting this again and trying to give it every chance but I still dislike it. What I suspect is this. They used an alcohol soaked in oak barrels note here instead of just using real oak. This perfume has a sour mash Whiskey smell to it that I dislike. It is an extremely sour note here. I also suspect that cumin is used in the composition, giving it another layer of sourness. Pink pepper can be sour but the more I smell this the more I suspect it is cumin that is bothering me. There is not enough cinnamon, honey or rose in this awful fragrance. Again, I do not get the hype around this brand. If I sample again I will have to get it for free. I am not paying for them.

Cherry_Darling

instantly sold on those notes! Amouage always impresses me. I think it's easily in my top 3 favourite perfume houses. This is like a cinnamon tree bark, very woody but not in the usual woody way. In a fresh and peppery woody kind of way (of course the pepper note but somehow interacts with the wood in a great way.) Also has a slight soapy feel to it but not the usual off putting way - there's a luxury woody soapiness to it. Not getting too much rose. Sweet but not really honeyed. This is such supreme quality I'm putting it on my want list.

Edit: somehow drydown smells like cinnamon waffles. I feel something herbal or hay maybe like immortelle.

Rosegold

One of my favourite layering combos is Ambre Nuit and Volutes. The pink pepper, rose, and that slight cherry smell from the tobacco is somehow juicy and sparkly at the same time and its so addictive. Crimson rocks opens in a very similar fashion with the addition of another punchy fresh spice (maybe cardamom?) that's not listed in the notes. Whatever it is, I am OBSESSED with the combination. I wish it lasted forever, but instead it dries down to whatever amber wood note that dominates so many releases these days. Once I smell that note, that's all I can smell and it assaults my nose for hours on end despite multiple scrubbings. Amouage and I have historically gotten along and i own and love many from their line. But my experience today makes me less enthusiastic and a bit leery to try their new releases. For those that are sensitive to woody amber aroma chemicals, BEWARE.

Josu01

If we adhere to the quality Amouage has accustomed us to, Crimson Rocks is a scent that is easy to like.

It is a rich and alluring woody perfume that is spicy without being overpowering, slightly sweet thanks to the honey, and with a rich and appealing background of dark roses; with cinnamon playing a prominent role in the composition, blending well with the rest of the notes.

Perfectly unisex, I think it performs well, though possibly not on a beastly mode as some of the other, already-powerful perfumes from Amouage. However, the whole composition is just delicious and the perfume bubble it creates around the wearer is very unique.

Sniffathon

As expected, a strong cinnamon opening with the tiniest hint of pepper. However the spice persists and persists and I can’t quite get on board. It does soften a little, but not enough to show me a blooming rose dipped in honey. Maybe it is just blended so well that I can’t pick them out? But I also am struggling to get on board with all of that cinnamon.
I can kind of see the appeal on the right person, but just not for me.

furgillsss

This is my second favourite from the house, after Memoir ❤️ Very rich, warm, winter perfume

Tunzz

Powdery, spicy rose.

Edit:
I let this sit for a little over a month now. The cinnamon and honey notes are showing up more, the scent has somehow become sweeter and more gourmand. Love!

Lolo79S

amazing Cinnamon fragrance mix between amber and spice specially Cinnamon, pink pepper and honey with rose, beautiful colors ,presentation and perfume 😍
I love it so much in cold weather night time 🥰

ryoshiho97

Well… this was a disappointment. Every single fiber of my being knew I was gonna like this. I almost blind bought it because I love all the notes listed above. But after a few misses of blind buying fragrances, trust issues were born. I went to the store and sprayed it to myself for good measure. I was so excited to try this. This opening was heavy wood notes, cinnamon and probably other spices that’s an assault to the senses. I had to wash it almost immediately and didn’t even wait for the middle and base notes to come through.

XeniaKoneva

This smells absolutely divine and regal. The kind of rose I've been after for a long time! In a nutshell, It is a thousand Taif roses placed in a smokey oak barrel and covered with a generous amount of honey and cinnamon. Initially what you get is a strong mature rose scent, and something strongly resembling whisky somehow, which can be attributed to the wooden base.

To me, Crimson Rock is 1/3 woody, 1/3 gourmand (cinnamon and honey give me a tiny bit of cherry in hot weather), and 1/3 pure rose essence.

As usual, sillage is strong, and performance is even stronger.

anapana83

This perfume reminds me so much of the bases of both Flower by Kenzo and Sensi by Giorgio Armani. More so the latter. Very woodsy, warm, and spicy with a nice balance of rose. I would say that in comparison, Sensi is less intense. I know it's unisex but I would love this on my man more than myself. It leans more masculine than feminine imo and I have other perfumes that have more feminine-friendly notes that I prefer but with the same warm and resinous base. A confident woman can still pull off wearing this. This is a great warm scent for fall and the cooler months.

iszzieanna

Truly enjoyed the opening of thick, sweet honey. Then it dried to any other resinous, cinnamon spice. Borderline gourmand but make it Amouage

fragrancefemme

Absolutely agree with Awan's review - this is just amazing. Its complex with a strong "eastern" vibe, standing out from the others in the Renaissance line. The pepper note is incredible, only gradually softening over the hours. Unlike majority of Amouage's fragrances, it has only a few notes but is so well blended. I have quite a few spicy perfumes but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest (although jointly with SL Arabie).

MadMadCat

From the (unused) spray I clearly smell honey and cinnamon. You can imagine my surprise when, after spraying it on my skin, I got a blast of a strong cardamom note that I don't see listed anywhere. It's a very spicy cardamom, too, probably because of the really strong cinnamon, vetiver and woody notes that are fighting for attention in this spicy assault to the senses.

Despite the woody notes and the honey, there is no comfort in this scent: it's sharp, somehow "cold" and the rose just contributes to that picture. The honey appears in the middle notes and, for a minute, the fragrance reminds me of spicy honeyed tea, but that impression fades quickly, leaving the stage to the base notes: essentially vetiver and resinous, freshly cut wood.

I find hard to believe this has been categorized as a mostly feminine scent, because I find it quite unisex if not masculine leaning.

I don't hate it, but it puzzles me. To me, it smells more like a place (a cabin in the wood, with spiced tea being brewed on the stove) or food (some middle eastern dishes and drinks) than a scent for a human being.

Gatorsrules

A honey cinnamon bun with rose. Made me sneeze a lot with the powerful cinnamon. Left me wanting more. Almost smells astringent on my skin like cinnamon gum.

Enrium

Crimson Rocks is a spicy, woody rose scent with some oriental facets thanks to a synthetic amber note in the base. I love a good use of rose in perfume, particularly a rich, dark rose like this, but the rendering of the amber note here, while not bad, keeps me from loving this scent. There is a persistent woodiness from the beginning that also smells quite synthetic, making for a balsamic accord with the amber that lasts throughout, unfortunately choking the rose note at the heart of this scent.

CR opens with warm, sweetly spicy cinnamon with some pink pepper, bridging the gap between the spices and rose note nicely. The rose is rich and dark, sweetened by the honey note which amplifies its jamminess. However, the aforementioned woody-amber accord dominates throughout, balsamic and loud.

As it develops, it mellows, becoming a softer woody-rose oriental with some spice. It is at its most classic during its later stages, and the woody notes in particular become more akin to the real thing - more wood shavings than ambery liquid. The spices complement the woody notes quite well here, and a hint of rose remains for a good while. It fades to a woody-amber skin scent, with a slight muskiness emerging as it disappears. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting. This is a unisex rose despite the sweetness, in the Middle Eastern style.

A modern interpretation of a classic accord, CR has its moments and improves significantly as it develops. Still, it is imperfectly formed in my opinion, and given the price, is not full-bottle worthy. Amouage has far surperior perfumes in its line-up, for example, Lyric Woman, one of my absolute favourites, is the best spicy rose scent I've ever tried. Objectively not bad however. 3/5.

rhaineclayton

I blind bought this for a good price and am trying it for the first time today.
After sitting with it for about half an hour, I was thinking I'd be listing this for sale soon. After the cinnamon settled, I found myself liking it a bit more, but still not loving it.
Tonight, I've been sitting here wondering why my house smells like freshly milled timber and it's me!
Up close, I get some of the rose, but the general scent wafting around me is a sweet milled timber.

Perpetual Collector

Who the heck is voting this similar to Ambre Nuit? It has nothing in common with it at all. First spray, here comes cinnamon, closely followed by honey, and holly **it, it is neither sexy, nor mature, nor very pleasant. For some reason, i smell tobacco in it even though it's not listed.
It closely resembles Velvet Teddy from MAC, which i have and never wear because i find it sickening. Looking at the bottle and the name i expected red color perfume, but this perfume is yellow through out (honey, cinnamon, tobacco)
I am happy i tested first, i was so close to purchase a full bottle blind. I think aside from Love Tuberose, Lilac and Sunshine, Amouage is just a tad much for me.

yasemint

A perfume with a high concentration of suffocating in the heat of summer and suitable for wearing a coat, scarf and sweater on cold winter days… It opens with an explosion of cinnamon; It takes a long time for the cinnamon to give way to honey. In that process, the smell cannot show a high performance in terms of making you happy. Persistence and spread is fine for the first two hours, but a memoir is not as strong as a love tuberose. Although I loved it, I was not satisfied with its performance so I sold it. Even though it was launched as a women's perfume, it is truly unisex. I hope I don't regret it in the future

Raluko111

I am usually not a fan of spicy orientals with rose, but this creation is poetry: the notes are beautifully blended, not screechy, not synthetic, not cloying, just pure perfection. It will forever remind me of my Istanbul summer nights, drinking Turkish coffee with baklava at Gulluoglu in Karakoy. Initially, I would have ranked it as a cold weather perfume, but it performs just as beautifully in hot 30+C days.

likesleet

darker, more masc/unisex apple cinnamon.

Walerie

This is the perfect winter perfume. The rose scent for us not enjoying rose! The rose is there, but it does not take over, it's almost not present at al. Instead, this is a warm scent of cinnamon with a vanillin hint (I guess it is the honey making the hint of vanilla in the cinnamon?). The pink pepper freshen it up together with the base of woody notes. Lovely! A truly unisex perfume, but I don't give it to my husband, hence I want to have it by my self. This could be my everyday (and night, preferable night) scent for the deep winter. All those days you need to warm up in a cosy, yet elegant scent.

betsyglez8

Spicy sweet , perfect for cold weather can lean more mature aged style ,
I feel it’s nicely blended and loving the honey in it but still not sure it’s for me .

Awan

This one is really underrated. I had a 3ml for testing and I tried it seveal times to be sure I would like it during its whole process. Waouw...I was not disappointed because it's longevity and sillage is strong and lasting. The floral and sweet facets would slowly retreat to the discrete background and the cinnamon, wood, honey and spicy character stays more clear all the way down.
I got plenty of compliments and some even asked me what a heavenly scent I was wearing.

Some users would say it's too feminine but I like floral and especially rose fragrances. Crimson Rocks is unisex and really a very modern and sophisticated scent in a highly well and genuine blend.

Finally I was lucky and got my hands on a full bottle today for only € 90

This is a keeper for me!

Scent: 9.5/10
Longevity: 8.5/10
Sillage: 8.5
Originality: 9.5/10
Price: 7/10
Overall: 8.7/10

Those saying it lacks longevity and sillage must have a dilluted bottle. My bottle have a fantastic longevity and sillage - no doubt!

Dmiddy

Sweet and spicy. The holidays in a bottle. Cheerful, warm, and accessible. To my nose, a non-challenging crowd pleaser — but in this case, that’s a compliment!

delightme5

If your a sweet tooth especially for any middle eastern like sweets, this may speak to you.
Starts a bit grainy resinous like with a dry sweet feel ..But wait ! .. I find after not too long , that start seems to melt away, and although there's not much complexity or evolvement to me, I don't smell roses etc -.it simply becomes a deliciously sweet aroma. Cinnamon well blended. Yes, a jujube honey lolly like or delicacy with a persistent smell. Could cloy, pick your mood. It's a love. Unisex 100%

Silverquick

I’m late to the Amouage party. Samples are hard to source in my country and they are just starting to be easier as people offer up splits for sale. This was my first Amouage sample and I was unsure. Because cinnamon to my nose can end up having a strange drool/saliva-like finish. That’s not the case here, it’s hot, clean and truly delicious. The rose and pepper joins the cinnamon in a burning candied rose way. Never truly distinct but there. The honey creating an ambery effect. In the dry down the cinnamon eases off and the rose blends in the wood and hay-like vetiver. A truly long lasting scent with strong projection. Very unisex for someone who wants to feel invigorated and is comfortable with attention. I would say this is cool weather only. On my hit list ❤️

Crimson Rocks perfume pictures an extraordinary place in Oman - the peaks of Al Hajar bathed in the red of the setting sun. In spring, the buds of damask roses sprout from the rock faces and cover the slopes of Oman's majestic mountains like a pink carpet. The whole area is drowning in petals and the wind carries their fragrance to the valleys...

Domitille Michalon Bertier painted the mood of this place beautifully with the fragrance. That's how Crimson Rocks was born. A dignified, mesmerizing rose enveloped in spices that beautifully enhance its lingering character. Nutmeg and dusty cinnamon evoke the dusty slopes of the rocks. The Damask rose absolute is brightened by a hint of honey, but that's just the prelude. The oak accord adds weight, texture and classic character to the composition, as well as the warm, sweet aroma we know from double wood whiskey. It combines with other ingredients to create an extremely creamy, warm base. Opulent, tingling with spice and perfectly polished. From beginning to end you can feel the signature of an excellent perfumery.

Moeytja

Geriatric, animalic, urine undertone for sure. No, no and no. Like someone at the geriatric house wore a vintage strong scent. Geez christ. I just cant w amouage. Cinnamon bathed in urine.

Labwuh

Crimson Rocks by Amouage.

Oh dear the reviews here are so harsh!

First impressions is frankincense through and through even though it's not listed. Heavey on Cinnamon & honey but it settles down to a warm cozy scent.

I understand everyone's nose is different and the old Amouage perfumes are far more superior but that doesn't take away the newer edition shine away.

Short story:
I never use to like Amouage (before magnetic cap) meaning the formulation was stronger back than. I remember smelling Honor and I was like NO NO (okay Tuberrose isn't my favourite note) but I was young and loved only designers until they were all REFORMULATED to a shadow of themselves!

Fast forward 2018: Along came Beloved Amouage and my amazing -expensive- lol niche journey started!

I guarantee you with the HOUSE OF AMOUAGE you will always smell unique, regal and mysterious.

I actually waited a year before I bought Crimson Rock and I'm so grateful to have it now in my collection.

This is best suited in a cold climate.

Sample first.....

The Wolf

I can sum this up in two words: Poisoned Cinnamon.

On paper I should love this.. I love the note tree and I love cinnamon. But the way they blended cinnamon, pepper, vetiver, and honey makes it smell completely off on my skin.

Like cinnamon with a green, but also slightly urinous undertone.
On the plus side, it's well blended and a strong performer that doesn't smell that bad in the air, but more so up closer in your immediate vicinity.

Scent 4/10
Performance 7/10

perfumewave

First 1-2 hours is a blast of pink pepper and cinnamon. If you're patient enough to wait, then you start to smell honey which gives it a bit sweetness but it's still cinnamon heavy, that cinnamon NEVER goes away. I don't smell any rose in here, it's probably supressed by the cinnamon. I actually think it smells nice but it's not worth the full bottle for me. But if you like warm spicy scents I'd suggest you to try it. It is a truly unisex scent imo.

marty15312

To my nose there is absolutely no rose in this. I for one cannot detect any. For me this scent has a strong resemblance to Nishane's Ani. I know the notes of the two perfumes hardly have anything in common, but that's what I get. It's a very spicy vanilla/woody scent (though no vanilla). Unfortunately I am one of the very few people who don't like Ani so this is also a pass for me.

zhejr

Many different reviews here.
To me, this is not mature/geriatric/medicinal like some say.

Rather the notes are pretty on point - honey, pepper, rose, woods.
It is sweet and spicy gourmand.
The combination gives this savory, cake-like smell. It is playful and unisex.
Atypical for Amouage? Yes for sure, but not in a bad way.
I am really picky with my taste in fragrances, but I would recommend it.

SmellsLikeMoneyWellSpent

The opening is nasty. As soon as the top smooths away, the rose emerges, sweet savory and surprisingly fresh (vetiver?) with slightly woody undertones. It’s ok, wouldn’t buy a big bottle though.

WFT321

So disappointed by this scent, it smells savoury to me, very similar to a curry. Definitely won’t be purchasing, just glad I got a sample first!

Birnam_Wood

I’ll fast forward the obvious: sweet-salty-spicy-caramelized-honey-syrup etc. etc.

What interest me is, giving it time and letting all these pieces fell into right places, they’ll spell out a forbidden word:

Heliotropin.

shhhh, don’t let IFRA hear it, it’s been banned.

Heliotropin WAS the centerpiece of, well, Heliotrope note, which is a sweet creamy powdery scent with yummy, high pitched almond tone. You can find a mesmerizing presentation of it in L’eau D’hiver by Frederic Malle.

However, if you smell the highly concentrated chemical ingredients itself, you’ll find it … fatty. To be precise, it’s a salted, raw-cream-like scent, with an irreplaceable waxy-fatty undertone. It’s so dense, you can almost feel the sticky weight on your wrist. Jarling by JAR has the “thickest” presentation I’ve known.

Back to Crimson Rock, I don’t think they’ll go against IFRA to use Heliotropin, but It did create a illusion of it at some point.

Soon the fatty-waxy scaffold collapsed, then the 3D “heliotropin” is flattened to a salty-sweet-creamy layer, with a salted dried-fruity hue and a woody tone goes hand in hand (oak, probably).

Then the scent has reached the skin stage and basically on autopilot.

ingeneuxo

-Revolting scent. Geriatric almost.
-Reminiscent of chinese herbal oils that are used to soothe tummyaches via topical application. (-)

onaona

I was intrigued by the opening and somewhat startled.

Crimson Rocks practically jumped off my skin with a big medicinal blast when first sprayed. I know it's the pepper and cinnamon, but lordy, it was unexpected. Spicy, my nose would have been better able to explain. It was a surprise, but fortunately, I was also intrigued. It settled a bit, but pepper, cinnamon and something slightly tinny wouldn't give up without a fight. I've been wearing fragrances from the Amouage's garden collection lately, so CR was bracing. My nose forgot that Amouage also produced Memoir, Epic and Lyric, which inhabits some of the same space as Crimson Rocks. Lyric is, smoother, and considerably more rounded and lofty, but the similarity is there for me, despite the obvious difference in notes and lack of complexity. The lack of complexity served to create a linear fragrance with a one track mind for pepper, cinnamon and a single red rose, maybe two, but no more than that. The woody base never quite fully materialized for me and honey didn't even attempt an appearance. I'm actually good with it being rather linear. I don't always need fragrance to be a story. There's something to be said for getting right to the point. For Crimson Rocks, the point was, no...IS, a peppery, cinnamon covered rose. CR is nothing more and nothing less than exactly that. It's also not for me.
All that opening intrigue was just a red herring.

Noteworthy Notes
cinnamon, pepper, an outflanked rose, pepper, cinnamon

Notably Absent
honey, a wood base, warmth, complexity, curves

Crimson Rocks has crazy longevity and projection. Apply with care, it's rather tenacious.

dcjimr

My initial impression is that this is almost savory in nature. I find it very interesting but I'm not feeling much of an attraction to it.

TeachOlfactoryArt

Amouage made a colossal mistake when they lost Christopher Chong and replaced him with this new Belgian boy-man, last name Salmon, looks 15 and sounds in his press releases like a pretentious idiot.

They’re now—by their own admission—focused more on PR, marketing, and social media than on actually fine fragrance. Down goes another once-great house. Crimson Rocks is overloaded with a vile woody-amber aroma chemical, probably Amber Xtreme, and cinnamon. That’s it. Unwearable.

RottigrlNYC

This does smell like a spicy Indian dish I once had. It’s weird, I like it ok but not enough to buy a bottle. Very strange, this one is.

AMajeedQT

Honey & Spice.

Crimson Rocks smells of sweet honey, spicy cinnamon, & softened with a touch of rose. The rest of the notes are a monotonous woody background on which the aforementioned notes are colorfully painted.

Sweet, spicy, rosey, gourmand.

Since the CEO & creative director of Amouage changed, they have created superior feminine fragrances relative to their masculine counterparts, which have been received almost universally with lukewarm reception filled with "eh"s & "meh"s.

Crimson Rocks is a mature gourmand wear, suites better the cool days.

toushiroumimi

... I am so sorry but this smells like a Saudi dish and I can’t get it out of my mind 😂😂😂 you can faintly smell the honey but wow it’s a spice bomb this one...

It smells better blended with floral perfumes but on its own it’s just food for my nose 🤣🤣🤣

Zentocs

This is a very good but masculine scent-I can’t imagine that it’s suits me. There is some sharp spicey side of it what makes it good for a man. I love the bottle❤️.

Julia11307

I was hoping to love this perfume but unfortunately this is something that i can't handle. At first sniff I felt like honey, rose, and sour cherry. But it was only for 5 minutes. And after that warm and lovely notes I felt nothing but iodine only. I was hoping it'll go away in few minutes but no.... it was there for more then 3 hrs !!!! I have warm type of skin so it might be only wrong type of skin, wrong weather or something else.

taylorrose

Very strong and mature scent.
It smelled more masculine. Definitely some notes of artemisia or other bitter herbs.
I don’t know if it suits me.... I was curious to order more Amouage samples because I liked a couple particular perfumes from this brand. But this one is way too heavy and “mature”.

I first became interested in this scent when I saw a YouTube reviewer raving about it. There aren’t much reviews around it on YouTube or Fragrantica and the low ratings made me reluctant to buy it. Some reviews say it’s sweet, rosey, I think one person mentioned that it smells like side effect from Initio. I love side effect so much that I was tempted to blind buy this. However some reviews mentioned that it is spicy & I don’t really like spicy scents so I ordered a sample. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. The opening spray is very spicy, like red hot flavour crisps. This remains for a long time until a few hours where it becomes a sweet, cinnamon rose situation. It does smell regal, this is for a powerful woman who enjoys deep scents or Middle Eastern scents as this has that vibe. The performance is okay- it will not fill a room but it has some intensity when people come close. Also I would only wear this at night. In terms of the scent I like it but I wouldn’t buy it. If I was gifted a bottle I would be so happy but I don’t love it to buy it for £260.00 no.

NoviSad2019

In my opinion, it's a beautiful unisex fragrance. But to me it's a copy of Roja's Enigma pour Homme, in the dry-down at least. How come nobody's picking up on that? Personally, I'd go with Roja, but I can see how Crimson Rocks fits into the Amouage product line. Performance is excellent, as is projection. If it weren't for Roja's Enigma, I'd highly recommend this perfume.

moderndandy_swap

Its quite similar to SL La Couche du Diable. The best among new Amouages. Insanely powerful.

ignatzb

Opens with very weird BLAST of honey-tinged pepper and Red Hots, but once it calms down... yummy! The syrupy rose/cinnamon/honey heart is predominant but the base notes are my favorite. Earthy dry woods, absorbing some heat and dustiness from the main notes, complex and potent. It almost suggests incense without having any incense.

Kots_Tanya

This is so Unique, I like it a lot, Slightly reminds me of Santal Majuscule from Serge Lutens, that dusty woody rose accord but with sweetness of honey and cinnamon spice ( not sharp at all) very well blended. I dont know if I would wear it just yet, but I keep coming back for a sniff on a paper strip so that means the scent is pretty addictive. So far my favorite rose perfume from Amouage. Its woody, rose soft with sweetness, yet a little spice. I believe if you like Santal Majuscule, you will enjoy Crimson Rock too. The performance is amazing, its gets only stronger with time. I sprayed it last night and woke up to even stronger scent on the paper, not sure about the skin yet.
Edit: It also reminds me a lot of Rouge Saray by Atelier Des Ors.

OmarAladdin

My favourite of all the Renaissance Collection, only upon first impression!!
Had to give it a lot of shots before I come to decide;
Throughout the life time of the fragrance there is this almost funky/animalic tone in the background.
My best stage is the opening, before rose kicks in, cinnamon combined with pink pepper and honey are one of a kind,
but soon, in the heart, the rose stands out with a jammy, molassesy, coconutty, starchy, average quality type of rose. Hereby, I was dejected.
The dry down is truly seducing, where it's all woodsy with that funky/animalic effect of the honey+cinnamon and luckily that rose disgrace is over.
If only they used a different type of rose accord! The rose here is not the type of rose that I would expect Amouage to be using. It's more of something that Montale/Mancera would do.
Sadly, it doesn't live up with the previous high quality rose offerings from Amouage that I am used to.

Overall, oriental-jammy rose fans will definitely be happy with this release.

gunmetal24

This was an equivalent of a chemical sledgehammer to my nose for the first few hours. Phew! It has that overbearing wall of sound feel that reminds me of some of Patricia Nicolai's work, most notably Incense Oud. I can wear Incense Oud as it slowly becomes less and less congested but Crimson Rock's tsunami of scent keeps on droning and droning for the first few hours. The woody amber material leaves my skin after three hours and it becomes a more pleasant almost prettier scent then, with resins, vetiver and a smidge of rose. But sadly this portion of the scent onwards was a bit too close too skin for any usable longevity. I also find it quite linear and ultimately not satisfying. Not for me but I think this might appeal to someone who likes Montale and maybe are looking for something that's slightly more exotic smelling.

lemale83

Crimson Rock is my favourite from Renaissance collection. This one is great. A different take on rose, nothing like over done rose-oud theme. Open with prominent spicy cinnamon accord, almost gourmandish. I was wondering where is the rose, rose note slowly bloom in the mid stage. It’s a realistic rose accord, neither fresh rose like Lyric man (which is my favourite rose frag) nor very dark like Lyric woman. If I want to make a reference, it is very similar to the rose accord in Amouage Rose TRO attar. Honey note is bit tricky on my skin, but here it’s well done, not over powering and it’s just jell very well with the main rose accord. Woody notes and earthy vetiver gives a nice body and depth. I don’t see the similarity with Tobacco Vanille. This is perfectly unisex. It last more than 10+ hours, but projection is quite close to the skin. This is a winner from Amouage and definitely a crowd pleaser.

katrin.niisuke

Beautiful rose with cinnamon. Very unisex and must try for gentlemen out there. My favorite from the collection.

Golfgal426

This is a gorgeous fragrance. I was hesitant at first because some of the notes are not congruent with what I normally like, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is the first fragrance I own that has cinnamon in it, and when I initially smelled it, I thought it was a little heavy. But when it is ON, you get this chorus of deliciousness that involves rose, cinnamon, honey, and pink pepper, among some nice woody elements I was pleasantly surprised by.

It is so beautiful. Truly a masterpiece.

cocofluff

Warm ambery opening. Spicy sweet rosy (dried roses) mid. Base smells strongly of cinnamon sticks and woody notes. Overall, it smells a bit weird to me.

The first thing I thought when I smelled this was sweet "amber". What follows are a ton of notes all at once: very sweet honeyed roses with warm spices. This smells gourmand to me. The more fragrances I smell with honey, the more I'm convinced that I don't like honey in my fragrances. -

Houdini4

This is an exemplary fragrance and restores faith in creative perfumery. I'm not overstating that, I think this is one of the most unique prospects of the renaissance collection which to be fair are all very interesting and faceted in their own way.
So just to make it clear I wrote a separate review to this on Instagram before I'd read any notes but naturally I've been informed by the Fragrantica ones that there's
So this has a spicy opening but it's somehow blunted (in a good way) and I'm someone who loves pink pepper in top notes, I go mad for it and it's certainly complimentary with rose. However, I can't say it's instant piquant nature comes across to me, this almost feels a little like licquorice but not licorice, It's very difficult to describe the opening of this fragrance, I struggle and I like that.
This is a dry, volcanic, ashy, but not parched feel, it's kinda like an aerated volcanic rock, of a thing but becoming much sweeter with rose. I received compliments ranging from 'that's sweet I like that!' to 'you smell a bit like cola cubes' both of which I'll take.
I think the rose starts to have a purplish hue as the day wears on and a definitive smack of damascones!!! Its a rounded rose accord complete with the velvety, lightly decayed feel of Bulgarian absolute. It's not a jammy or boring cliched rose, this has a subtle character. Musks chime in beautifully after several hours, giving a really warm, cosy, gorgeousness to this fragrance. That ambretteolde/Romandolide/musk ketone humming warmth.

That's two modern roses in the space of a year or so that I think have completely flipped the script on modern roses, just when you think you'd seen all the perfumers trickery.
Lovely stuff from Amouage and Bertier! Bravo!!!

AndySmellsGreat

Gorgeous scent.

Received a carded sample - fell in love at first sniff...

However... after refreshing my memory I held off a FB purchase. I sprayed Initio Side Effect on my right and re applied this on my left.

I found that this is an almost 75% copy - I would find it hard to accept this was not based on this. Side Effect is deeper, darker and more resinous where as Crimson Rocks past the strong smooth initial cinnamon and rose over wood turns creamier and softer.

I enjoy both and would say yes to both as sometimes the subtle difference is enough depending on the mood however the reality is Crimson Rocks is far poorer in Sillage in comparison (Initio as a brand has easily the best performance I know of other than Xerjoff and Stephan Humbert Lucas 777).

I also remembered House Of Sillage 001 was similar and yep... it’s even closer only a little softer around the ‘red’ vibe - so I guess this sits somewhere in between.

Again, awesome scent but for similar money I’ll take Side Effect any time ( yes I know the note make up is different).

Amv10

Love at first sight. Took me a while to try to understand what happens in this fragrance. It’s in my view back to what makes Amouage great, which is that the end result is bigger than the sum of its parts. The opening is almost gourmand and sweet but in the same time totally dry. It has a bit of the toasty réglisse notes of Memoir Woman but just slightly coming out from a blast of dry caramel on incense. The incense is very present and keeps it all dry like the desert. The rose is there but never center stage and in the end it all comes out to a superb opulent feeling but which is hard to nail in a word.

Pez_Enelrio

i can smell the cinnamon and the honey very much which makes it a little bit christmas-like with some velvet rose petals added, a bit feels like when I once spent xmas in Dubai and however all the decorations and the assesories of the holidays appeared I had a strange feeling getting a tan at the same time. but i think this line is well proving we dont have to worry about the future of Amouage

Mak-7

Crimson rocks is mediocre. Before you "pfff" at me, here is my position.

Amouage to me was always associated with high quality, complex, memorable perfumes that smelled very natural. They are perfumes that would create an image, at the same time i could tell notes apart. To me that is the highest form of perfumery.

What i get with crimson rocks is a much more simple composition in european style. When sniffing deep into test strip, i can call out pink pepper, cedar, rose, cinnamon and honey exactly in this order. Pepper is fragrant and not obstructive. Rose is light and pink in feel, blended with cinnamon that gives it spicy edge. These 3 notes sit on slightly sharp, dry cedar wood similar in style to bel ami. And all composition has a little sweetness from honey that is a background player.

What i dont like is the quality of materials, either they are not high quality, or some aromachemical has been added that is really popping to me from both, the test strip and skin. Blending washes edges of ingredients away creating a very basic image that is not Amouage worthy. To me crimson rock can easily be related to eros stylistically. Very forgettable, boring, and not something i would ever want to smell like. Longevity and silage are very good though.

If this is the new direction of the house, it is clearly the wrong way.

Explorador

Some time ago, when you purchased on the Amouage site, you would get your most desired bottle of perfume in no time, with a little note inside the box saying “this bottle was carefully prepared for you by...”.

Now, they take two weeks to send an email to tell you that the perfume is out of stock and they will procedd to do a refund as soon as possible.

Luxury expresses itself in all aspects of the customer experience. Amouage has changed from a truly luxury brand to a mass market company, totally direspectful to their customers. Really sad for former lovers of Amouage.

thebark

This stuff is REALLY good. I have a number of Amouages - perhaps 10 to 12 in all - but I've never warmed up to Lyric Man. It's light and effervescent and well done, but this - this is what I would have wished that to have smelled like.

Crimson Rocks opens with a strong blast of cinnamon which prompts, "Who just ate a whole box of Red Hot candies?" It's a strange opening, perhaps jarring and why some comments so far profess to it not being their favorite part. There's a certain darkness there at the start (and throughout), which encapsulates the theme perfectly of a sunset on red rocks; you can feel the darkness coming on, but there's a flare of light burning that provides a stark contrast.

Then comes the honey. Rich and dripping in texture, there's something lurking amongst the combination of notes that, at my skin, gives off an almost honeyed-tobacco accord as the rose starts to bloom - and this is not the light, airy rose of Lyric Man, either, as its soon propped up by woody notes and vetiver making this perfectly unisex, more so than Amouage Overture Woman.

Over time, I get different wafts of notes depending on where I sniff. Sometimes, the burst of cinnamon is pronounced, fiery with spice. Other times, it's the woody notes. The rose is always there, but never hammering you over the head with its presence. As bdoughty82640 noted, imagine Moss Breeches with the just the right amount of smooth, spiced-roses.

Stellar stuff!

bdoughty82640

Holy Honey bomb Batman.

I’ve seen reviews where I heard this was a straight forward rose, or rose and honey. Yet I haven’t heard anyone talk about the oakmoss.

This scent is regal and cosy. This is classical perfume at its best. Although I agree with the review below that this wasn’t love at first sniff.

Honey soaked roses with spice and a heap of oakmoss ending with a rich and sweet dry down.

Imagine Tom ford moss breeches (honey and oakmoss elements) with smooth spicy rose. Just imagine...

This is a stellar scent. Took me a few wearing to get all the stages and facets of this scent but in case you can’t tell - I’m super impressed by this.

I give this ten Dianas out of ten (and you can really only handle one Diana at a time... trust me)

Not sure if it’s my favourite of the four new offerings but I’m working my way through then slowly. They all have merit :)

MissDeeDee

Oh yes! Syrupy rose cinnamon with honey! Love it!
But it wasn’t a love at first sniff though. First minute was a dislike, as I only smelled the top notes of pink pepper and only the bitterness of cinnamon, without the aromatic sweetness - the rocks without the rose. I went for Ashore (loving that at first sniff!). One minute later, coming back to Crimson Rocks, the rose starts to bloom slowly, developing into that rose cinnamon syrup with honey that I am smelling now, 2 hrs later.

It’s sensual, sexy, but refined. High class.
Perfect for night, but also for day. I find it working all year round, as it’s not obnoxiously sweet. Is, as I said, a refined, young, classy woman. Yes, definitely leans feminine.

I was passing by Amouage store and saw the new collection in the window. Still not selling until 15th of September, but it’s there for us to test the entire collection.
And this one is definitely my favourite from all 4.
