Blanche by Byredo is a Floral Aldehyde fragrance for women. Blanche was launched in 2009. Top notes are Aldehydes, Rose and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Peony, Violet and African Orange Flower; base notes are Musk, Woodsy Notes and Sandalwood.

Blanche is a fragrance by Byredo introduced in 2009. Just like its name suggests, the perfume is dedicated to white colour. It is airy and simple in its structure, but captures thoughts about a certain person who inspired the creator with its innocence.

The perfume opens with white roses, pink pepper and aldehydes. A heart includes violet, neroli and peony. A base is enriched with blond wood, sandalwood and musk. The perfume is available as EDP 100ml.

Clean but mean about it. Hard-edged soap. One of my "I'm all-business" favorites, pairs well with starchy button downs, vantablack pants, and sculptural heels.

loves2read

I have tried it because of aldehydes but all I smell is soap. Just ordinary soap.

heartbeam

This is the first thing I think of when people describe a smell to be “fresh”. I’m usually not heavy on pepper or white florals but this perfume is just so beautiful. I didn’t expect to like this at all from the notes but it’s definitely up there with my favorites. I haven’t pulled the trigger and upgraded to full size yet, since the price tag is simply too steep for something I’m sure can be duped elsewhere. I will 1000% sniff it whenever I pass by Byredo stores though, lol.

nguyenxxx

As someone who doesn't like white floral / aldehydes, this was surprisingly inoffensive. It's light and clean. Not something I would reach for, but does not repel me either. It is kind of a like a laundry detergent smell.

questionmark

It’s a 1:1 for H&M’s Above the Clouds if you want an affordable dupe— if they even sell it anymore. I initially bought the fragrance because I heard it had similar notes to Glossier You, but I’m afraid the only
Similarities it carries are the violet and musk. I don’t smell the pink peppercorn or the woodiness. It is a clean scent and I almost get a fresh fruity light whiff of pear but maybe my mind is deceiving me. It’s a scent you wear on a bright spring day in a white tee and jeans running errands. Beautiful clean scent nonetheless.

L'égyptienne

I love it!!!
It reminds me when i enter my hotel room during a vacation, it is clean, fresh with a slight sweet touch :)

cicifrances

this smells exactly like a women's public restroom

Modern architecture, minimalism, newly released Apple electronics, white marble, fresh snow, porcelain tiles, crystal chandelier, panoramic windows, clean and ironed white clothes - 'Blanche' evoked all these images and associations in me when I wore it, and it successfully delivers what it promises.

It is a modern floral-aldehyde, a reinterpretation of this perfumery genre that was born in 1921 with Chanel Nº5 and which declined in popularity over the decades: while classic aldehyde florals use the molecules to give a bright floral notes with a warm/animalic base, Blanche simplifies, or rather, minimalizes this structure, making the aldehydes its main star - an absurdly clean, bright perfume, almost bordering on aseptic, fresh, icy, dry, metallic.

The rose, peony and violet are evident, but they are not "in natura", reminiscent of a garden, they more resemble the feeling of being in a modern glass vase in a chic living room. The aldehydes do not cease for even a moment, leaving an aroma reminiscent of freshly ironed clothes, washing powder, soap, soap bubbles and an infinite number of clean and white things.

Excellent logevity, very good sillage. It can be used all year round, even in hot weather in controlled doses. Elegant, versatile, appropriate, harmless. Great perfume to be a signature.

(P.S: Toy 2 is very similar, but softer and friendlier than Blanche).

perfumepearl

This is beautiful yet pricey. @brainrot comment describes the perfume perfectly. The price is crazy but the oil roller is not that expensive.

brainrot

on my skin it's a gorgeous lactonic fragrance, not overly sweet, not too 'clean' a scent, but certainly light and soft

Erika.Lane

Straight up fresh laundry.

Johnny Madison

Quite possibly one of the most addictive fragrances in my collection, to the point where I found myself wanting everything with this scent from the lotion, body cream, hair perfume...I can't get enough. The only unfortunate thing about Blanche is that it seems that I am the only one that can appreciate it among my circle of people. Friends always tell me that I smell like a bar of soap or that I perhaps may have used too much detergent in my last load of laundry, but to me this is something so uplifting and magical. Ethereal, angelic, so perfectly delicate and unassuming; blanche is uncomplicated but gorgeous. I believe it is very difficult to blend aldehydes into a perfume to where it doesn't take center stage and make a fragrance icy cold or too synthetic smelling, but Blanche has accomplished bringing in aldehydes so perfectly to where it is modern and balanced... This is great for the office or wearing before slipping into your slumber.
Blanche is kind and approachable and I will always have a place in my heart for her.

Msala140

What a pretty , fresh scent. The aldehydes are modern, and give it this laundry touch to it , not like warm like opening up a washer/dryer but just the clean scent of the dryer sheet but it’s it’s cool and airy due to the violet, which gives it also a light powderines. I don’t get much rose but I’m glad because I’m pretty much over rose, everything has rose is in nowadays . Breezy, clean, and fuzzy . Perfect for summer and spring

jjx

If you tell people you are wearing byredo, they probably won’t mind the smell. But if you don’t, you will smell like strong soap/laundry detergent to them.
Not a lot of depth with this scent even though there are lots of ingredients listed.

theperfumegirl

I was hoping to get the laundry detergent smell as some people have mentioned that’s what it smells like and I quite like clean scents but this smells like straight up soap. The smell is OK but it’s quite sharp at first and I don’t think I’d like to smell like soap especially at this price tag. I would say it lasts around 3-4 hours before it becomes a skin scent and after 4 hours I can smell some sweetness, it kind of reminds me of Lush Snow Fairy, but this bit only lasts about 1.5 hours before the scent completely disappears. If this was cheaper I’d wear it to the gym or somewhere where loud perfumes were inappropriate. I won’t think about this fragrance again there’s lots of cheaper alternatives if I really wanted to smell like this which I doubt I will. 3/5 overall because it’s just meh

Smellywaterlover

Strong laundry detergent scent. I like the scent but not as a perfume. I only use this to spray my curtains to make my room smell nice and clean. There are plenty of clean-smelling fragrances out there, but this is too expensive for what it is.

Sammy134

Had a travel size from the Le Selection set. I heard people said it smell like laundry and I thought that’s crazy. I was definitely surprised.

It unironically does smell like it if you think about it long enough. As it’s drying down it’s reminding me of Tide powder detergent, not the liquid, the old school powder. But like in a good way, not aggressive, except the first moment after spraying was a bit of a headache with alcohol and aldehyde - but it’s Aldehyde fragrance so I’m not surprised.

To be honest, I don’t smell any wood or Orange Blossom like the Middle and base suggested. It’s Aldehyde with a bit of rose and powdery from the Violet.

I couldn’t see myself wearing this seriously but I have been spraying it on my shirt then let it dry out a bit while I get dressed with other things and it definitely makes my clothes smells fresh and “out of the laundry” even though it probably was out of the laundry for days now.

Overall, get it on discount or travel set, blind buy will be disappointing if you’re just purely looking at the notes. And it’s true, it smells like laundry.

P/S I don’t know if the full size is like this but the atomizer on the travel bottle is so fine and smooth, could barely feel it hits my skin if it wasn’t for the alcohol

theblondegourmand

Not a fan. For the first hour or so it has a very classical chanel mature smell. Smells of alcoholic and roses in a way that I don’t enjoy. Eventually, it became more ozonic and pleasant but I would not wear this.

alexandrarst

Oh, God, the opening makes me sneeze, there is something very sharp and synthetic there (the aldehyde I suppose). No, no. After 10-15 minutes it calms down, but it still doesn't attract me. It smells like detergent, cleaning solutions, and not in the best way. I had expectations, I was hoping for something more subtle, ethereal, of better quality. It reminds me of Avon's Pur Blanca, which I had, and all the girls used when I was in elementary/high school (and the intention is not to criticize that one, oh no; that one demands the money it deserves and delivers what you expect). Other than that, there are better and cheaper options if you need a clean/laundry scent (see Margiela the bubble bath or lazy sunday stuff). The only plus is longevity and projection, at least for me a bit better than other Byredo fragrances.

I think I see a pattern with Byredo; it's a big hype, you set some expectations and become extremely disappointed after you buy; then you admit it or force yourself to like it just because you spent a lot.

Heliotrope72

Rating: 🧼🤧
Do I like it: On skin no, otherwise yes
Who it is: A person carrying a bucket of Lenor fabric softener through the house that has all the windows open after the spring cleaning
Smells I get: ozone, Lenor fabric softener, violet, peony
Meyer's Briggs type: ISFJ, ESFJ

This is an odd one.

I really like it on clothes and as a room freshener, I think it's simply a marvellous scent, but on skin it gives me a headache and doesn't really work.
I think there is no point to mix this with body heat - it's a cool, fresh and clean scent that was meant for clothes and surroundings.

As per the review - the scent is exactly what it says it is, an ozonic, aldehyde packed floral. Reminds me of the blue Lenor fabric softener. It's nice, surprisingly strong per Byredo standards, and a bit aggressive on the aldehydes, violet and peony.

If you're going to spray it to enjoy the soapy, freshly washed scent, I recommend spraying it on ankles, over clothes. That way you should catch whiffs of it in the air, and the strong aldehydic, ozonic florals should be smoother than from up close.

ShowMustGoOn

If you want a good laundry scent get Lazy Sunday Morning from Margiela. This one is subpar and not worth the $

LomaAroma

Based on the reviews I really wanted to love this fragrance, and I did love it- for about the first five minutes. The first five minutes were amazing. Nothing short of amazing. Almost like a soap made for babies. Outstanding. Then it dries down to something atrocious and I just don't understand. I had the same experience with Bal D'Afrique in that, the opening was incredible, then it dries down so bad. I've only tried those two from this house and have been disappointed both times. It makes me sad. If they would eliminate whatever is in the base that causes that god-awful stench after dry-down, this fragrance would be in my top five favorites. I am going to let this sit for about 30 days and see if there's any difference.

Tericarl

I received the byredo sampler and I loved the other two. This one gave me immediate memories to individuals masking cigarette scents with fragrance. My guess it’s the laundry freshness and maybe there’s something in this scent that was similar to febreeze but everytime I smelled it I got smoker mom* memories.

That being said- I had a lot of those memories while wearing this so it has a long wear and decent sillage. If the fragrance doesn’t give you weird memories or brings out the right notes on your skin, you can trust it’s a solid fragrance for longevity.

*no criticism to smoking mom- it just gave me that scent memory of being in friends cars or houses when their moms smoked.

churinl

This is my first experience with Byredo, and won't be the last. I love it's freshness and light floralcy. The only thing that prevents this from being a love for me is it's dismal longevity and complete lack of sillage. Even heavy spraying does little to change it, and the only way to even have an intimate skin scent is with frequent reapplication. This is far too expensive to use in that way.
I've accepted the fact that even niche perfumes frequently suffer from poor longevity, but this is so poor, I don't think I will ever repurchase. That said, there are many others in the range that I want to try, so I'm not going to write the brand off yet.

yukikiki

Agreeing with the person who said it smells like bathroom cleaner. I was looking for a heaven's gate fragrance I smelled on someone. Wasn't courageous enough to ask. But it wasn't this.

Very sharp, too sharp. It does have a laundry sort of vibe to it. Buy I suppose they added too much of something and it veered off into bathroom cleaner, the astringent one used in women's public bathrooms.

I'm sorry, there are way better laundry scents for a better price. Also agree with the same user that sometimes I want to smell like Tide.

For those looking for a clean laundry-like scent, go for Lazy Sunday Morning, I don't gravitate towards that one but it's certainly better than Blanche.

ettenig sayam

Blanche by Byredo. I like this fragrance. I won't say it was or is "love at first sniff," but it has grown on me. It reminds me of laundered white sheets drying in the sun after a day of rain and wind. It' clean - not in a soapy way, but in a natural way. I would wear this to an early morning Pilates or yoga class or even to the gym. It's the kind of spa-like scent you enjoy after you have enjoyed a sauna and a shower and you put clean dry clothes. It reminds me of fjords of Norway. If they had a smell, it would be Blanche by Byredo. It's a cozy scent to wear on a cold blustery day when you snuggle into your pajamas and enjoy a rice bowl on your couch watching some fascinating Netflix movie. To me it's full bottle worthy. It's a keeper. Perfect for the quiet office, a gym meet-up, or people who work in stinky environments and want a whiff of a clean crisp fragrance. 9/10.

elliem@y465

This perfume smells like straight up toilet cleaner. It has a very powdery smell that reminds me of a women's bathroom. I was expecting a soft laundry/clean luxury scent however this perfume is very harsh and not warm at all. I am a clean scent lover and sometimes want to smell like straight Tide, however this scent was not clean, it was perfumed diapers.

linne_i

It is very good for a humid weather and tropical country. Refreshing and not offensive, just fresh clean scent that does not induce a headache or nausea on a normal day. Yes it is good for hospital, office, and probably restaurant work in a humid place.

mjolkj

Un-intriguing and blatantly poor in depth, this perfume turns rancidly sweet on my skin. This is what Princess Peach would smell like if she was having a bad day at the laundromat

booksandcats457

Unfortunately I am one of the people who gets straight up “laundry detergent/dryer sheets” from this. It literally smells just like I rubbed my wrists with dryer sheets. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad scent by any means! It’s very clean, crisp, and soapy. Very reminiscent of clean linens or a freshly laundered t-shirt. I think this would be perfect for work for that reason (it doesn’t read as overtly “perfume-y” and thus would be unlikely to offend), and that’s probably where I will wear the rest of my sample, to the office. But this isn’t special or unique enough for me to consider shelling out for a bottle, especially at Byredo prices.

Sophia97

It's a warm and cozy fragrance for me. I really like it when I wear this fragrance, like I feel fresh and super clean after wearing it. But one thing that bothered me was that after the dry down it got too soapy which was too much for me, and just because of this thing, it made me looked for a fragrance similar to this, in which I came across White Beauty by Dua fragrances and it smelled HEAVENLY! It's the exact smelling fragrance but exactly how I want! in price and in smell. Amazing.

nichoa99

I love clean scents, and this one is very nice. It smells more like a laundro-mat, a little bit of a generic metallic-powdery smell. This one is definitely more on the detergent side, and more literal. This doesn't have any bleach smell to it, or chlorine. If you know any perfumes that do, send me a message!

solulszabolcs

Aldehydic scent. Very clean. Loveable.

Tsmarcondes

It smells like a soap from a really expensive hotel. A good one, fresh, reminds you of those super white clean sheets or a super clean toilet. Yeah, clean is the word and as I really like this kind of smell, I would wear it eventually but I'm not willing to pay this price, no sir, so forget about it.

Edit: Toy 2 from Moschino is exactly the same for a fraction of the price. I'm going after it, for the days I just want to smell like straight out of the shower.

Hifza

I like refreshing clean scents, for example if someone had come out of a shower and the scent which comes out of their body and hair is very fresh, clean, clear and pure like it portrays that yes the person feels good and neat. There is some kind of self-satisfaction which is being felt after taking a shower and that only comes after smelling yourself or if anyone compliments, oh you smell so nice after shower or says you smell so fresh (when you're all damp) though this scent is kind of that one, like if I wanted to refresh myself without taking shower, then this is my go-to fragrance in the morning. It's definitely a clean soapy scent but oh man, not taking shower is costing me too much and I am unable to afford it more. Is there any similar scent to this which would suit my budget i.e. around 80 dollars?

Icebearsniffsniff

Smells like toilet cleaner straight off, it does dry down a bit better but still an unpleasant cleaner smell.

Powerfulpatchouli

For fans of the aldehydes of Channel no5 but wanting a lighter, fizzier floral for warm weather. Perfect for wedding guests, when your friend with excellent tastes has the most romantic garden wedding in the Spring. Leaving the boss perfume at home you are relaxed and joyful and planning on getting drunk for free on well chosen champagne. Would also suit older brides. The type who knows herself. She is past the girlishness of a Delina but is giddy with excitement and love.

SeauxGood

I have to agree with those saying this smells like laundry detergent. Mind you, not like clothes that have been freshly washed, but like the liquid itself. I could see wearing this to the gym or to freshen up my uniform during a restaurant server’s shift. Not exactly something that justifies paying this price point. You can get this same effect with Clean Warm Cotton or Clean Fresh Laundry. Besides, I’d rather my “clean” and “fresh” fragrances smell like actual perfumes, not like cleaning agents. Overall, this doesn’t smell bad; it’s just unnecessary.

MissStarE1973

This is straight-up clean laundry to me. While that's ordinarily not a bad thing, I don't necessarily want my perfume to smell like that. I don't smell roses or any florals as mentioned in the perfumers notes. Just laundry detergent. I can't figure out if I like it or not.

Supernova07

I agree with all those who characterize this scent as clean laundry. It has a soapy, detergent-like quality that is definitely not for everyone. It's a nice fragrance for those white t-shirt and jeans days or whenever you skip the shower and still want to smell clean. I think this is a unisex scent, but it is not a safe blind buy. While I enjoy the scent, the price tag prevents me from considering it FB worthy.

deanyunuss

This should be unisex !

sangyeon

i'm sure it's great on other people! on me though, it made me feel a bit sick, but not in the way you'd feel sick when you smell an extremely sweet perfume. instead of clean laundry, it smelled like... plastic, and a tiiny bit of the gross odor you smell when you sneeze and it lands in ur hair... was not laundry at all to me sadly, especially bc i love laundry scents (and because of that price D:). i made the mistake of smelling this at a nordstrom where everything smells great so that was my fault >,

Vaivakac

Whenever I wear Blanche, I feel like a girl boss!! But at the same time like an auntie in the Y2K

abcdefgeps

If you don't like perfumes with aldehydes, steer clear of this one. The aldehydes in this is very strong.

I love it only because it triggers fun childhood memories. It takes me back to being a little kid in school in the morning hanging out with other kids, all showered and drenched in different colognes.

Will I repurchase a bottle? No. It's too pricey for what it is. I might just settle into using my current one sparingly.

Commonscents99

Blanche smells like rolling around in clean sheets, but sheets that are slightly lived in and have an earthy soapy musk smell of a lover. I really enjoy this scent it makes me smell clean and feel put together when I wear it. This is the ultimate high end designer white t shirt kinda smell. Sure it’s over priced but it’s so versatile that I am making a decent dent in it which is no small feat for an avid perfume collector.

Babey

Look i'm a sucker for clean scents, juliette has a guns (not a perfume, pear inc, musc invisible, ego stratis), j'adore parfum d'eau, courrèges slogan...
The first time i smelled Blanche i didnt get it nor liked it but still decided to get it. And i Love it! It is very clean, laundry type of clean, pale sunny mornings, fancy hotel linnen, genuine winks, white undies and hugs in funfairs.

spaceybailey

It smells beautiful. Very clean and fresh. But not a laundry scent. Something you would spray the teddy bears on your bed with. A more sophisticated Mr. Bubble original bubble bath. Sweet but not too sweet, fresh and long lasting. Great for your kids closet, to keep their clothes smelling fresh. Powdery, but not like baby powder. I personally wouldn't wear this. I actually love this on my FUR baby. I spray her clothes with Blanche because it has a bougie grooming SALON vibe to it. One spray is all it takes to keep all her cute outfits smelling amazing. The perfect cuddle perfume. BISOUS

Frenchfragrancelady

I bought this one blind and never regretted it. If you like clean scent it's so worth it! Most of all it's so so fresh, I've never smelled it on anyone so it still has some rareness. Nevertheless super pricy for what it is....

bbyevrm

it was a blindbuy for me. it is shocking how correct yall were by saying that it smells like clean laundry omg. i feel like i just came out of the washing machine. but it smells like an old lady tbh

TuesdayTaylor

I love clean scents but this one is just too synthetic. It smells like the cheap hand soap used in fast food restaurants. It even kind of smells like the cleaner they use to mop the floors with. It’s not pretty, it’s not warm, it’s not fresh, it’s just a cheap industrial cleaner. Anything from the “CLEAN” brand would be a better choice than this. Or even Philosophy’s “Pure Grace.” Right now my favorite clean scent is Nemat’s “Amber” oil. ❤️

lenileni

theoretically i should love this scent but it is unfortunately a dead ringer for the kind of cleaner or hand soap they use in public bathrooms in my city...a bit too sharp on me to be a "clean laundry" kind of scent

cgaleb

Blanche is too strong on the “clean” laundry detergent scent and my skin doesn’t pick up on any of the other notes. I definitely went into this sample thinking I would love this perfume, but it doesn’t change at all over the course of the wear for me and I can’t get behind all of these aldehydes and nothing else on my skin. Sadly, not for me.

isha2003

I love my fresh scents, this smelt like clean laundry. this is a professional scent, i imagine a very fine person with formal casual wear (white top, black pants), walking past me at an airport, i can sense they probably fly business/first class, cause this smells expensive. Someone who is successful, a well put together person.

This is a safe scent, yes it smells good, but do you love it or just like it or just think its ok? a fine line to deciding whether you want this or not, cause it is expensive. i would personally buy this just to smell like clean laundry, but i wouldn't wear this on a day you are looking rough, you won't wear the fragrance well.

You get this sparkliness with a cloud, and this tone of light blue. although people say its warm and cozy, i would say it's quite opposite cause its crisp, there is this coldness to it. but you would wear this on a sunny day/early morning. overall i rate this an 8/10. although i love this scent, just cause of the price and weak performance.

edit: after wearing this for sometime, i realised it reminds me of a very clean bathroom, i have a faint memory of Singapore airport ladies washrooms smelling like this, its a soapy clean scent in a good way.

samsara1977

Intercontinental in China discovery; bathroom had this lovely scent to offer in soap and the whole bodycare range. Loved it!

billiedenise

This smells like very fancy laundry. Like a commercial of white linens blowing in the breeze on a clothesline on a sunny cloudless day. Like a bright white bathroom with shiny white tiles. I do like the scent but maybe not as a perfume. It would make a lovely room spray or candle... Or perhaps just to use a few sprays after a hot shower before bed to set a calming mood.

sexonlegs

Smells like you are in a humid bathroom and put all the colorful soap/oil beads in the bathtub that the 90's kids used to have. Very clean, fresh and cozy because of the nostalgia. Its good, if your thing is smelling like you just got out of the shower then this may be of interest

tanss

This is the perfect clean scent. Smells clean without being soapy. Very gentle, low projection, low longevity. Don't understand the comparison to Toy 2. Blanche absolutely lacks the obvious apple in the opening of Toy 2. Cant seem to understand the similarity. Toy 2 seems to me more of a shampoo vibe.

pheebana

May I paint you a picture?
I close my eyes and I’m on a road trip. I have just stopped to take a pee and I’m washing my hands with generic pink soap. I am standing at a sink in a gas station bathroom. A relatively clean gas station bathroom. But still. The florescent lighting makes me look like actual garbage, makes everything around me look washed out and miserable, and the smells surrounding me do nothing but make me want to leave and never come back. Do I really look like that? (No). There is a crappy hand dryer that will swirl the gas station bathroom air all around me without drying my hands. I will smell like that pink soap for the next hour and it will remind me of that specific gas station bathroom smell. That specific gas station bathroom feeling. It is what it is.

All I get from Blanche is gas station bathroom. I would feel disgusting wearing this. Perfume really do be subjective, huh.

emily385

I, personally, really enjoyed this scent when I tested it, but it's not something you would want to overspray

JmThms

A minimalistic fresh and clean Aldehydic scent. Aldehydes controlled enough for my enjoyment. Not like the extremely harsh raw Aldehydic bomb Pikovaya Dama by Xerjoff, in that the aldehydes are softened pretty well by the florals and aromatics. Pikovaya Dama is like an industrial strength cleaner inserted directly into the nostrils. Blanche isn't like that, but it IS predominantly Aldehydic, and so people who are especially sensitive to aldehydes may not like it. I like it. Its in the realm of a "not a perfume" fragrance, for those people who are stuck between not wanting to wear anything and wanting to wear
SOMETHING. I thought it was a whisper in the opening and so sprayed more trying to
compensate. I shouldn't have because it started
radiating those clean aldehydes as it approached the mid, and it actually nauseated me a little. Ironically for a "not a perfume" fragrance, it's best to control your sprays with this. It's in the neighborhood of a Musc Invisible by JHAG and Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Martin Margiela. Nice office scent. Unisex. Still my favorite of this house is Bal d'Afrique and Pulp. I like Bal d'Afrique more than Blanche because of the beauty of its composition - florals, citrus, aromatics. Blanche is overwhelmingly Aldehydic, which gives it a harsh, although clean, edge.

isierra

This genuinely starts off smelling like a sprite soda. The dry down is more of a Powderly citrus floral. Not my favorite.

Pernillaw

Love it but the longevity is te-rri-ble,

Madame Le Nez

I gave this one too many chances. In the end, the smell is intolerable and leaves me feeling grumpy. Disappointed to say the least.

zefragrancec

airy, peppery, sharp, kinda underwhelming considering its hype but it not bad

WitchQueen

3.5/10 Another expensive laundry detergent, this time with piss poor longevity

toosimilar

Does anyone know the note giving nauseating in all frags like that?
The one which is slightly sweet, fruity somewhere in the background
I hate to hear "it's a fresh, clean perfume", it's not.

Ineke01

Bought the Moschino dupe Toy2 because I love the laundry freshness of Blanche but can’t get over the steep price. Unfortunately, Toy 2 is no dupe at all. Nice smelling fresh teenage scent etc but in no way a dupe or comparable to blanche. Just so you know

LightOfJoy

On my skin, it smells pretty dead on to Bath & Body Works' Cotton Blossom. It's lovely, but not my thing.

It's what dryer sheets used to smell like in the early 90s, which makes it feel fresh and clean. Aldehydes, florals, clean musks.

torres_jake

I live in a tropical country, and now I understand why this is very popular here, it smells very fresh and clean, like an expensive soap. I really like it. Feminine leaning, but I think a guy can pull it off.

8/10

delrey

very much clean girl aesthetic. strong and lasts all day, smells like fresh laundry and the color white personified.

fragfrance

Really smooth, soapy powdery scent with little bit sweet. My ex had Acqua Di Gioia, and it was 9-10 years ago, and this reminded me of that perfume. I might be tripping cuz it was long ago. This leans bit towards feminine to me.

soctafianto

It's a blind buy, like most of my collections. Initially bought as gift for my wife by recommendation from the seller. I was reluctant as rose is the main note and afraid it will will overwhelm other notes. But to her nose she said this is unisex. The soapy and powdery notes will blend with the rose and the first impression is like you just took a nice, very nice bath.

She is absolutely right. And now I also use this one to myself. And it lasts like forever.

Flared Maple

This smells like you just took a nice bath in an industrial sized vat of laundry detergent.

and I’m honestly here for it. 🐇☁️🤍

Pinnacle of office-safe fragrances.
Also, really great as an amplifier to any freshies you have in your collection.
I love layering this with Dior Blooming Bouquet, Byredo Mojave Gohst, or Moschino I Love Love to name a few.
Goes great with anything floral or fruity really. Gives those fragrances a unique BURST of clean freshness and seems to amp up the sillage of whatever I layer on top.

Vellocet

Of all the clean fragrances out there, Blanche is the cleanest of them all. It really do smells like fresh and crisp laundry that has been drying in the sun. Luckily the aldehydes are faint here, and quickly disappears to give space to the musk, the powdery violet and peony. I love it, no doubt. But the longevity isn't great. After four hours it's almost completely gone, and for that price tag it's simply not worth it. Dossier has a great dupe called "musky aldehydes", and in my opinion they seriously are identical! Above the cloud from H&M is very similar too! I'd definitely recommend you to try dossier or h&m:s before thinking of buying this. I don't agree that toy2 is that similar though, they just share the same vibes.

sandra_101

It smells just like fabric softener dryer sheets! Elevated dryer sheets but still.

Wearwolf56

The definition of an "office safe" perfume.

Julietrenoir

I LOVE it!!!

Do you know the amazing feeling when you go to sleep into freshly clean sheets after having a shower? It feels like a CUDDLE to me.

TBH, the first time I tried it, I HATED it! It felt too soapy-clean-detergent like, it gave me the idea of a person that is obsessed with cleaning the house all day long.
They gave me a sample, I tried it again and..it smells BEAUTIFUL on my skin. Yes, it smells like clean, but not only... it smells like violet, musk, and more.. I feel nice, clean, neat, fresh, ready to go!

strawberrystar

This smells like a mix between detergent and the horrible cheap air freshner scent in public restrooms. Pass.

Lollo

Its alright.

Baltabarin

It's easy to understand why Blanche is a best-seller by Byredo; it's essentially a fresh and clean perfume with a subtle sweetness. I don't think there's anyone in the world who could find it truly unpleasant.

Personally, it evokes the olfactory landscape of a luxury resort: bright, serene, and comfortable. On warm skin, it can take on the character of a sun lotion, losing a bit of its refined simplicity.

That being said, it's in line with Byredo's style; a pleasant and polite fragrance, well-composed but reassuringly unexciting. It's a good blind buy for everyday wear and a gift that is almost certain to be appreciated.

jjeongeun

I feel nothing about this.
I expected very strong powder detergent
but it is just a normal powdery floral scent.
I'm sad that I couldn't feel the cotton-like smell on this.
I have both Blanche and Boy2.
It's quite similar with the Boy2 but Boy2 is sweeter and cheaper.

Giselecharlotte

When I very first smelled this, I thought..BLEACH. But no, not even close, and im so relieved because this has become an easy reach. It is quite glorious.

I have a very specific visualization that I get when I smell this..from a birdseye perspective, it is a bright sunny morning and your hand washing white sheets in the garden.

valentina.marini

nah. can't believe the hype around this one fr! yes, it smells like a fabric detergent, the one that smells cheap and bad and now you have washed all your clothes with it and wearing them is unbearable.

ForTheLoveOfFrag

I've never had anything like this before. Based on the name and description, I was expecting something totally different. I love clean, white, minimalist frags like Lake & Skye 11:11, Lazy Sunday Morning, JHAG Not a Perfume. I gifted mine to a girlfriend and she positively LOVES it. I don't know if it's my skin chemistry or my smell receptors, but, on me there is no florals, no musk, no sandalwood, no development. It is ALL aldehydes. So much so that it doesn't smell clean, it smells like a hospital. Sterile is the word. I was so disappointed and I gave it a fair shake too! Different temps, different times of the month and it always came out the same. It's a shame, it's the one Byredo that lasts forever on my skin.

It sounds like a safe blind buy, but I would def sample this first.

luanneog

Fresh, peppery and a very inoffensive rose. Maybe I got a bad batch or something because to me it mostly smelled like a nail salon.

LauraKay

I don’t usually gravitate towards aldehylic scents and the first time I smelled this I actually hated it. I thought it was too harsh and felt it almost burned my nose. But about a year later I revisited it and had a completely different experience. This time I felt the opening was fresh and crisp - exactly like a fresh, just washed white shirt. And the drydown was what really captivated me. On my skin the drydown is super pleasant, musky, slightly floral, gentle and calming. This is now one of my absolute favourite scents. It makes me feel put together, cool and relaxed. Love it.

bangingmrsnick

For like 90% of the day I forgot I was wearing this, but every now then I'd think "Oh! What smells good?" then realize it was me. Then it'd disappear again.

LSAUG

I have been curious about Blanche for quite a while now and finally decided to test it. It is polarizing and I can understand why because aldehydic perfumes usually are. It reminds me of a toned-down version of Estee Lauder's White Linen. That perfume is wayyy to much and I usually hate "laundry" type perfumes, but Blanche does this type of scent in a pitch perfect way. It is neither to strong nor to soft. This would be a beautiful scent to wash your cashmere sweaters or silks blouses in. Soapy aldehydes combined w/ a faint cloud of pink and purple synthetic flowers that are pretty the way faux pearls are pretty. This is a good signature type of scent for those who want to smell clean, ladylike, and nondescript. It is classy but in a postmodern way. It shares nothing in common w/ Chanel no 5 or White Diamonds. Those perfumes are much more voluptuous and sensual than Blanche. They are a power move; out for seduction, Blanche just hums along, she is nice and kind of pretty, but she isn't looking for attention, she is happy to just go w/ the flow. It is a new type of aldehyde for millennials and possibly Gen Z. I do not understand the high price tag and I won't buy a full bottle of it because of that. I would rather buy Chanel's and Guerlain's that are on my want shelf instead and surprisingly ounce per ounce they are quite a bit cheaper. This is the only scent from Byredo that has interested me enough to test. I cannot understand their justification for such high prices for all synthetic creations. But they must sell because I never see their perfumes at discounters so they must be very successful. But I can also understand someone falling head over heels for this and buying it for the asking price. It is unique at least to my nose and again it has that postmodern style that will appeal to the young who want a 'vintage' scent but can't tolerate a true vintage aldehydic perfume.

marieberd

laundry and that's it.

LeighaCece

When I first smelled this, it was like a nostril assault. I sprayed a little bit of the sample on my forearm and was like "oh nope, I'm wearing something else today" and over-sprayed a totally different perfume on my wrists and pulse points...and then kept getting whiffs of clean laundry. I kept sniffing my wrists and was like "hmm no that's not it" but was convinced that someone around me smelled like they just jumped out of a dryer full of freshly cleaned linen. I finally pulled up my sleeve and smelled my forearm and realized it was THIS. Even though the initial spray smelled like bathroom cleaner, it must have quickly dried down to a lovely clean, fresh laundry scent. I've been looking for a "dryer sheet" type clean scent and this is IT. It smells like MMM Lazy Sunday Morning and MMM Bubble Bath had a baby (those are also two of my faves). Once you get past the shocking aldehydes top note, it's totally worth it. My boyfriend smelled it on me several hours later (like, 12) and asked if I plugged a "fresh" plug in on my side of the bed or washed the bedsheets in a new detergent. Perfect "clean girl" scent if you're really looking for that clean laundry perfume (with soapy floral notes!)

dhcoalition

Typical byredo- clean kinda boring scent with a high price tag. Aldehydes help balance the florals keeping things fresh and light. Woods add a soft powdery touch and there's a slight hint of sweetness. All in all it smells quite natural and like a expensive yet luxurious laundry detergent. This is easily unisex as it just smells like cleanliness.

I actually prefer this as a room spray as it projects an opulent yet calming cozy cleanliness.

Bluetsprincess

I normally hate aldehydes and overly clean scents. But on my skin this dries down to a very pleasant clean/floral/sweet smell. On my clothes however this remains a headache-inducing fabric softener smell. It's fine to wear around the house or to the office.

All that said, I lucked out and snagged this online for super cheap. I mean no offense but if you would drop the full retail price of $250 on this, you need to see a financial advisor!

Sheherazad

Turbo fresh laundry. An aggressively clean, soapy opening. Dry down introduces a faint green lily & a shy Iris in soft, fluffy peek-a-boo play. Stays pretty linear after this. I like it as a room scent, but not sure I want to smell like a floral dryer sheet. Will love using this on my linen.

sisina96rv

I have this sample for over a year now. When I tried it in the summer 2022, I had to wash it off my wrist after 15 minutes of suffering. A screechy, sharp detergent, very unpleasant. I tried it several times, but it made me sick. I was very dissappointed with the scent.

Now we are in the summer 2023 and I tried it again. I do not know what happened with my chemistry, or OK, maybe I know. I stopped taking some tablets. The point is that now Blanche smells different on me. It is pure, fresh and elegant. It reminded me strongly of what I knew and then it clicked - Avon Pur Blanca. I read some reviews about Blanche before writing mine and it turned out that my nose did not deceive me. But whereas I loved Pur Blanca, this is not love, only a pleasant surprise. I feel that Pur Blanca was sweeter, probably I smelled more Lily of the Valley in there. And in Blanche I see similarities with the Chanel No. 5 as well.

Well, this is definitely a clean scent and what I like about the Byredos in general that they have a very decent projection and they are very long lasting. The Byredo wearer leaves a trail in the air and the perfumes last 12+ hours, no problem. So despite Blanche being a clean scent, it is perceptible and I find it very suitable for the hot summer days.

Ghadah02

This is between a like and an ok for me the reason is it got a hint of a soapy edge to it but just a little not too much.

Simple and clean in a bottle.

Nataliemarie

I have to agree with the review below. It does smell like BBW original Sea Island Cotton. Not worth the price to me at all. I saw the reference for the Avon perfume, I'm a sucker for SOME Avons, so I may buy that. I have Toy 2, it is wayyyy better, stronger, & it is different, not a dupe. I have Clean Skin (Loooong time fave), I see the comparison, but CS is a much better smelling perfume & it does last a lot longer. Pass for me.

elly9993

I got a sample of this and had very low expectations. I do not like overly powdery, floral, rosey scents. However I do like “clean” and feminine scents, so I was curious about this one.
I was extremely pleasantly surprised. This is so nice. I enjoy that it’s not as screechy as Clean’s Fresh linen which tends to give me a headache. I like the soapy, clean laundry scent that it has.
I could see myself buying this and using it consistently, but the price of Byredo perfumes really turns me off.

gourmand_girlie

There was a Disney Sleeping Beauty doll released in 1994, that came with a small bottle of "lily of the valley" perfume. This smells almost identical to that perfume, just a slightly more grown-up version. Although this doesn't match the notes, here's what it smells like to my nose:

- lily of the valley
- baby doll head (powdery/soft plastic)
- creamy rose
- faint iris

It's all very creamy, soft, and well blended - feels like a fluffy lilac-colored cloud to me.

Someone below said it came across as more "screechy/synthetic laundry detergent" on their skin, and that's exactly what happened to me too for the first 30 minutes - literally like huffing generic dryer sheets with a too-sharp synthetic accord.

While the opening is screechy and lasts a while, the dry down is worth waiting for!

meadhbh

This is gorgeous on my friend, the soft florals really shine and smell beautiful on her. On me however, it's more of a screechy detergent scent.

silverbellshellsmell

It smells like dipping your tongue into a vat of laundry detergent grains.
Headache inducing, shrill, no subtlety, no elegance. Total disappointment.

Icarel

I try not to rely too much on rumors or comments, but as they say, there is no smoke without fire... I'm a huge fan of aldehydes, so I thought I'd love it, but not at all. This fragrance, to my nose, really smells like household products or even white vinegar when I tried it in a Byredo counter. Perplexed, as who would want to smell like detergent or a window cleaner? Well please do you, we are all free and different. I'm going to give it a second chance so as not to condemn it for life, by trying it on my skin, but in the shop, it bit my nose off.

Sjess

Smells clean & fresh but really nothing special. Reminds me a bit of Narciso Pure Musc and Clean Skin. It’s a non offensive skinscent, lasts pretty long but it’s just too bland for my taste and way too expensive. If I want fresh & clean I rather grab Glossier You or MFK 724.

questionalities

It's laundry - just like freshly-pressed white hotel sheets on that newly made bedspread you press your nose into when jumping into the hotel bed for the first time. While some might find it comforting and fresh, it seems oddly...impersonal to me, detached and almost clinical-like, void of personality. Hotel laundry, but definitely not home laundry. It's clean for sure, but not the kind I'd want to wear on myself. And the exorbitant price tag pulls me away from this completely; you're better off actually doing your laundry to smell like this perfume, and at that point why bother spraying this anymore?

doftnos

My all time favourite! Smells like newly washed sheets with a flowery hint. Suitable for every occasion

denizaryay

"I haven't only washed my clothes recently but also ironed them. I'm a nurturing, put-together woman. Even though I'm not an ice queen, you still don't want to mess with me because I KNOW what I'm doing. I will take care of everything but only if you respect me"

Lykopa

I shouldn’t love this as much as I do. Clean girlies, get in line! Fresh, and smells like aldehydes in a very comforting way. Like fresh laundry, or the day after rain. I would love this as a linen spray. Been admiring this scent for years.

basgam

It is like some expensive laundry detergent, in most positive way. Very fresh and clean, and cosy at the same time. Reminds me of Clean brand, definitely sharing the same 'clean' vibes. Rather casual and safe to wear, nothing seductive or sexy. And the price.. a bit shocking.

AkaNeri

It's nice, fresh, but too aldehydic for me.

beag

smells like hospital laundry. but a really fancy hospital for wealthy people where they bring you food in ceramic dishware instead of disposable plates and cups. the nurse who cared for my grandmother after her double hip replacement smelled just like this

LMD

Clean musky floral. Ever so slightly sweet. Smells pretty similar to Clean Reserve Skin. Pleasant and inoffensive but nothing special.

HannahRosesAreRed

I don't know what's driving this trend of pairing pink peppercorn with rose, but I'm more than OK with it. Byredo "Blanche" is beautiful. It's the quintessential clean aldehyde fragrance. It's refreshing, sparkling, cool and calming without being too cold; it evokes fresh air on a clear day, newly washed laundry, clean linens and freshly made beds, and the soft, subtly floral muskiness of skin just out of the shower.

"Blanche" boasts rose as a top and peony as a heart note, but I would hesitate to call it a primarily floral fragrance. Much like fellow Byredo fragrance "Rose of No Man's Land," this one opens with a sparkly-fresh pink peppercorn note with warm and inviting rose. But whereas "Rose of No Man's Land" is deeply sensual and mysterious, "Blanche" is a softer, cooler and calmer, inviting fragrance. The bottom notes of musk and blond woods have a skin-like, cashmeran effect, and combined with the top notes of aldehydes, create a distinct "soap" scent. I can see why some might be put off by this fragrance. But I, for one, love it.

On my skin, it's an extremely sensuous aquatic fragrance. The rose and aldehyde notes come forward front and center. It feels so good and clean and approachable both on skin and the scent card. There is a deeply nostalgic quality to "Blanche," evoking childhood bubble baths before bed, settling in for the night in clean sheets with the window open on a warm night. This might be one of my new favorite fragrances. I could see wearing this work as easily as spraying it before bed.

Edemay

Disgusting
Smells like cheap air freshener from the $2 shop

I’m dead serious go buy a cheap cotton scented toilet spray it will smell the same

Jasmineaeisha

I mean… it projects & smell clean but idk if I can justify the $280 price tag. It’s very much giving mild hand soap & laundry detergent. I will say it’s a very pleasant scent. Like the comfort of being in the school’s nurse office waiting for your mama to pick you up and take you home early from school :)

kimberly.b.stone

The first spray reminds me greatly of "Je Reviens" from Worth, but with a big splash of some cool and fresh herbs on top. White flowers are there, certainly, and woods. I think the powder must be tempering the scent so it's less like Tide, more like soap on skin. It's well balanced so that all these elements - aldehydes, woods, powder, flowers, soap - are there but no one element is shouting out the others. It's more complex than a minimalist perfume, but it's one you could wear any day, any time, and smell good, in a "you smell good" way, not in a "your perfume smells good."

Enough sillage for this light and white scent, less sillage than you'd want and expect from a heavier scent. Lasting well on me for 5+ hours, without having faded to an entirely skin scent yet.

Evie01

Tried this one on paper, as I am addicted to fresh clean scents.
At first it was strong laundry detergent, but then changed to the smell of green flower stems. I’m surprised that there are no green notes listed

cyclone1391

I received a free sample of this when I ordered Mojave Ghost direct from Byredo. I really enjoy this but uncertain if it's worth the price tag. I much prefer this to anything from the Clean brand. This is basically a higher quality Bath & Body Works Sea Island Cotton, not the current cotton offering from Bath & Body Works. Very long-lasting skin scent. If you were to wear this daily, I could see it being worth the price, because 2-3 spritzes lasts all day whereas the Bath & Body Works fine fragrance mist would require several more sprays and reapplication. Plus, the Bath & Body Works scent is discontinued, driving it's price up. For occasional wear, I would just find an old Bath & Body Works bottle. For daily wear, I would pay for this.

Maddison21

At first, I really dislike this perfume, for me it was too much aldehydes. A year later, I still decided to try it and realized that it needed a special state and mood. Before buying, I advise you to wear it on yourself first

ashleyj317

I have a love hate relationship with this fragrance. I love so much about this. Something if off putting and i think it's the aldehyde.
I think on clothing/fabric it smells amazing. It turns into something gross on skin. Maybe it's just me. I'm still on the fence of purchasing it. I do have rose of no man's land which is very heavy, very strong and gives me a headache after a while. I also have bal d'africa I'm spelling it wrong and i love it too and i normally hate citrus.
You can find these in Paris 50-80$ cheaper.

chb

Don’t know why you would pay so much for this, just take a shower?
Has a shower fresh/unscented soap/fresh linen feel to it.

Himawarinonioi

Straight up laundry detergent
Waschküchenduft

It's a good scent, one that will always smell good on almost anyone but is it worth the hype, the price? Nah.
Little bit of fabric softener or dryer sheets will do the same trick

LeahBear

I didn’t know how much of a staple workhorse this was in my collection until I broke a new 100ml bottle of it on my bathroom floor. I only just got it to replace an empty one and can’t justify another $300 right now. I thought it was just ok but now that I don’t have it I feel naked without it.

It’s all of the clean freshness of the chanel no.5 opening with none of the heavy dry down. It’s the cleanest most sophisticated soap scent out there. An awake shower in a bottle. So easy and inoffensive. I need to save up for another one. :(

AquaBaby5

I had forgotten I sprayed this on my hand to test again this morning. Made my morning coffee and when I went to take a sip I got a whiff of acetone from the hand holding the cup. Nah, not a fan.

SaraSeven

This smells almost fresh/aquatic and very one dimensional on my skin. I was hoping that the aldehydes and sandalwood would shine and really bring in some depth as I usually adore those notes - but i could hardly detect them at all. It might just be the chemistry with my skin, but I didn't find it very exciting. Not bad, not offensive - just kind of boring.

Olfactory Nerd Girl

Clean, yummy, fresh AF!

I’m going to go against the grain and say this is one of my all time favourites… and that’s a HUGE compliment.

It’s the perfect everyday scent. Longevity is great and projection is moderate. You’ll smell this on your clothes for days if the frag rubs against them or if you spray it directly on them. I personally don’t deliberately do that with fragrances, but have accidentally with this one.

It’s an all year round scent. Beautiful in all seasons. I humbly disagree with the below comment saying it’s ‘boring’. Yes, it’s inoffensive mostly, yes it smells clean, but it’s extremely intriguing and not something you smell on people every day.

It’s a crowd pleaser that doesn’t get enough hype. In a world where everyone is obsessed with Gypsy Water and Bal d’Afrique for a ‘clean That Girl scent’, Blanche is extremely underrated and in my opinion should be the go-to scent of ‘that girl’.

Zhommeby

Clean laundry. That’s all I have to say. It’s one of the stronger Byredos but it is purely just the smell of clean laundry.

AquaBaby5

This is…. Very clean, maybe veering on boring. Fresh, inoffensive but is there. It projects at least a couple of feet which is better than the average Byredo. I feel like this would do well to temper the higher pitch of Mojave Ghost, which I don’t really care for.

I could imagine this is nice on a warmer day. Unfortunately at the time of testing it is a colder rainy day.

Also unfortunate but I know I’d never reach for this even when it’s warmer. I’m not a laundry musk fan. If I want fresh and aldehydes I’d go for Chanel No 5 L’eau.

KindaQuirkee

This is a fascinating one. I don't necessarily like it, but it's a clever creation. It has a vanilla drydown and a very bright initial spray, almost like grapefruit. I can definitely smell the florals, they are very "clean" in the sense that the perfume is not cloying or jammy like some florals can be. It does not smell department store at all - this is the sophisticated older sister of department store perfumes. That said, the aldehydes don't work for me. It's not as aged as Chanel no 5 and the like, nor is it powdery. It's the bright grapefruit mixed with the aldehydes that makes this somewhat sharp, which isn't the huggable or "mmm" feeling I want people to feel when they smell me. This would frankly make a great unisex/leaning female morning shower gel.

Edit: Based on what others are saying, YES I can definitely smell the laundry detergent smell! Almost like before you put it in the washer, very concentrated.

Mokokos

Blanche is very clean, pleasant, fresh. You will be asked “what are you wearing? You smell so good.” If you wear the hair perfume along with the bottled fragrance it’s a knockout combo. I love it and it makes me happy. Well worth seeking out to try and buy if you like it.

miss.alyssa

This is my favourite scent. I’ve gone through a bottle of it already and had to repurchase. So so clean but still complex and mystical smelling, almost magically so. I am such a sucker for clean and musky smells but many of them lean too much toward bergamot and it comes off a little sharp. This does not. It is more of a flowery soap, but not your average one. I would say this is on the extreme side of soapy, not a safe blind buy at all. Layered with Bubble Bath, this lasts about 5 hours. All my colleagues love it! So safe for the office. I think people just criticise popular things. Anyone would admit this is masterfully crafted, even if they didn’t like it.

anntdangg

A fresh clean floral perfume that smells amazing! I really love the dry-down.

MatchaCat

Strong smell of clothes washing detergent and cotton, very literal, very clean, feminine leaning. 6 out of 10.

For reference, I'm female.

ChocoLei

Sharp, expensive, liquid laundry detergent.

It does smell nice, but as much as I adore clean scents, including fresh laundry accords in perfumery, I feel like that's all there is in Blanche. I'd be content with an inexpensive freshener spray.

Spencemonster

Beautiful scent. However. Just buy Toy 2 by Moschino. Lasts longer, is way more affordable and the bottle is adorable.

Siennai

Starts off like lazy Sunday morning. Sharp cotton. Little headache. Dries down close to bubble bath. Nice. But not fbw as many cheaper alternatives within this genre. I don't love laundry scents enough to justify.

Aleauv

the fairest and cleanest of them all , the scent of being pristine and well groomed.

cynthialacey52

Now that I’ve discovered Blanche, I’m done. I have a hundred fragrances or more but this is what I’ve been looking for . It’s clean and fresh and doesn’t smell cheap ! Love !!❤️

vtboyarc

It reminds me of clean washed and ironed linen, rather than the soap itself. Very clean and fresh; comforting. Slightly powdery with some floral notes, some lovely musk in the dry down. Perfect for when you want to smell good without making a statement or wearing something too overpowering. It is something you wear to enjoy for yourself, not to impress. I love it.

klioux

Soft fuzzy aldehydes with some powdery florals. It's definitely clean, to the point of feeling sterile. Like smelling your favorite nurse next to you during an otherwise un-fun hospital stay. Not for me.

ava96

I got a small sample of this and am glad I didn't splurge on the full thing - it smells like some sort of washing powder. I really do not like this as a perfume. If I smelled it on clothes, I'd think it was a regular detergent smell and even then I wouldn't like it. It made my head hurt.

current93

i really wanted to like this one. yes, it’s a “clean” scent, but to me it just smells like soap, or cleaning supplies. i just can’t get behind spending this amount of money just to smell like the cleaning supplies aisle of a department store. however, it's pleasant and inoffensive.

alyssarware

This perfume is the most incredible clean one I've smelled, it actually smells like warmth. It's clean in a way that doesn't smell chemical, it's just like laying in the sun on freshly washed sheets

msdarcy

I love that this smells clean and floral on me. I love clean scents and I am definitely a fresh scent girl. I own mostly fresh citrus scents, but this one I specially like because this smells fresh but feminine to me. When I spray it, after 2 or 3 hours, I thought it's gone but every now and then I could smell it on me and I smell the freshness of flowers. Price wise, I wish this is cheaper and more available on countries outside North America and Europe.

Ciszie

This to me is everything that CLEAN Warm Cotton isn’t. It smells clean and soapy without being to strong or headache inducing. I like spraying this on my clothes.

Catmo

This is one of my favorite fragrances to wear to bed! Clean and fresh is how I want to feel before drifting to sleep and so this is perfect for me. I typically don’t go for aldehydes but I adore this one. The only other aldehydic fragrance I enjoy is Mettalique.

ellennie

Of the 12 Byredo perfumes I've tried, Blanche is my least favorite. I cannot imagine spending what this costs to smell like dryer sheets and dishsoap.

Bergamet

There's poetry in smelling offensively clean - overwhelmingly, brilliantly, radiantly sparkling clean. Of all the soapy fragrances that are out there, this one is my favourite. I love Blanche deeply, from concept to execution it's absolutely *perfect*. The hand cream is awesome too, try it if you get the chance.

esterelmer

Oh this is so nice and clean. It’s not like other skin scents that are obnoxiously soapy or don’t smell like anything. It has the smell of a newborn baby.

vorachoom

To put it simple, it's how "cleanliness " smells. Like, how a fresh laundry that just came out from a washing machine can be dirty? That's literally how this fragrance smells. It's so clean that makes me smile every times I smell it cuz what pops in my head is "hmm, clean".

jero

Aldehydes aparts from old day's dusty, musk lost the animalic, a flower of the modern industry waits a name, it's a beautiful day a clear skinscent images flowery. I like to comprare Blanche to Olene, the latter is more indolic, making you think a species of jasmine. This is like a work of art leaves spaces.

strawbrrymelk

So much better than Lazy Sunday Morning. Buy this if you want to fresh sheets and laundry smell

Acidula

I have a cloth spray that smells exactly the same. Why should I spend all the money Byredo expects from me to smell like fresh laundry? I'll stick to fresh laundered clothes, lol.

Sallymiller

I got this in a discovery set along with gypsy water and bal d'afrique. I dislike gypsy water but can’t choose between Blanche and bal d'afrique as my favourite.
Blanche is a very clean, fresh fragrance with an intriguing twist. I love it but i don’t think it projects or lasts on me at all long sadly - but I would purchase a bigger bottle and maybe later with the body cream to see if that helps it last.

Minimijn

Indeed, this is soap soap soap! But a nice, luxury soap that I certainly don’t mind smelling like! If it wasn’t for the price I’d already have a full-sized bottle

KrystalMeth

I freaking love this. Smells exactly like a fabric softener sheet that’s warm and fresh out the dryer. I could wear this every single day and be content.

lapequenita

White crispy shirt, sunny spring day, staring at the sea while breeze is messing up your hair. Early morning with first sun rays seeking through the window while laying under satin bedsheets.
Fresh, clean with just a hint of flowers. Minimalistic. Uplifting. Blanche is an easy to wear, very pleasant perfume. Might be good for layering.

emeraldmh

This fragrance smells like strong laundry detergent with a hint of soap. I love the smell of detergent on my clothing, however blanche is overpowering, intoxicating to the extent where it is headache-inducing. I would not wear this as a perfume, although it might suffice as a very expensive room spray. It is not neccessarily a bad scent, it is just so heavy and clouding, in the same way spray deodorant is. Definitely test for yourself.

notnati

This is simply a laundry detergent but done really well. One of the very few fragrances I find wearable in high heat. That being said, I don't think it's worth the price point for how simple it is so I'll stop with a sample.

Daniela_Beatriz

I really thought I would like this as is right up my alley (musky, clean, powdery) but surprisingly I didn’t. Something in it didn’t work on my skin, it’s just not right… headache inducing with a very artificial musk clean smell. Can’t put my finger on exactly what is wrong, but doesn’t evoke comfort cleanliness to me.

likesleet

a watery lightness. not reminiscent of skin at all.

likesleet

Ricka

On my skin it smells like Palmolive soap bar.
It can be nice sometimes. Wish it would last longer.

Anabee

This smells EXACTLY like the air out of a rubber balloon. What type of adult wants to smell like this and also pay 200$ + for it?
I think Byredo is messing with us.

OTA Mom

One of the most boring bland fragrances I have ever experienced. Mild white french milled soap.

Laurus

I can not smell any soap in this. I am also wondering just like one other reviewer that what kind of soap are people using who smell the soap? I just smell something very delicious sweet note, is that musk? This is innocent, transparent, fluffy like a white fur coat. No sharpness at all in this.

likesleet

soap, but not headache-acidic laundry detergent. pillowy, pale, and subtle.

The Wolf

Wearing a decant around the house after not having revisited this scent in over a year. My thoughts have changed a bit. I love soapy scents and this is a good one, but it leans a little too fem for my taste.
Smells a lot like dove soap to me nowadays. Soapy and lotion. Love the aldehydes. Still like it but I don't love it. Histories De Parfums This is not a blue bottle 1.2 is a good quality, less expensive alternative.

Scent 7/10

For me, this perfume isn't associated with washing chemicals as many others pointed out. It's not laundry detergent, fabric conditioner or expensive/cheap soap. Fortunately, I can't smell any harsh, intrusive notes in it.

Blanche is fresh, clean and a bouquet of delicate, unobtrusively fragrant flowers on a base that slightly becomes powdery over time. It's refreshing in the heat wave, but in the coolness the floral accord smells even more beautifully and as if envelops you. There is no enormous sillage, the scent stays close to the skin like a veil.

I don't even want to guess the notes. Blanche is a whole and charming perfume composition. It's rather complimentary when I wear it. A perfect white shirt (and not just that).

This is the first Byredo fragrance I bought although I know much more their items. Each scent-bottle is a little masterpiece 🤍

KatherineC

I've been enjoying a travel spray of Blanche for the past month, and it took a while to get used to the ultra clean smell. It's become a favorite post-shower spritz. The florals are gentle but present, but powdery musk and sparkling aldehydes dominate the fragrance. It's a refreshing scent evoking purity and innocence, and smells especially good layered with rose scented body or hand cream. The aldehydes remain bright and crystalline through the dry down, much like Stairway to Heaven by Jules et Mad. But Stairway to Heaven is a far more interesting perfume with its contrasting icy and smoky notes. Blanche is a like but not a love, so a full bottle is not in my future.

Conniethehbk

this is the first Byredo perfume I’ve tried that I’m head over heels for! And I don’t even know why exactly bc it’s soap! It’s literally soap! But nonetheless I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it! Ok so this is very clean, very soapy, if you don’t like clean scents put the bottle down don’t even bother. Think fresh laundry and delicate powdery soft florals swirling about a bed of subtly sweet musk. The musk and sandalwood in this is the opposite of suffocating as I know sometimes those two can be quite heavy for me. The powdery florals in this remind me of Iris even though it’s not a listed note. If Narciso Rodriguez Rouge EDP hooked up with Clean Reserve Skin and had a baby, but that baby just took a bath, it would be Byredo Blanche. It’s so soft and comforting, very demure and classy, it has an angelic innocence. It is reminding me of the cleanest comfiest hug and makes me want to cuddle. WHY DOES THIS SMELL SO GOOD TO ME!? I can’t stop sniffing my arm! Full bottle purchase coming up, please hold

airy and clean with some kick from sunny citrus

perfumologist83

a gorgeous mixture with reviving and zesty inauguration of marvelous top notes, harmonized with divine florals and spices in the heart, they smell so unique here, the inscrutable ambers and woodsy elements are used in a very one of a kind and remedying custom through the heart notes, it spans so conscientiously with and in the foot compounds that I have to say that so many people at the dinner party at my colleagues roof asked me what I was wearing, it’s an absolute compliment magnet with distinctive silage even in open air.

anngelica

Being an aficionado of rather natural components and influences in perfumery, I cannot name oneself a fan of the Byredo brand, however, this beautiful fragrance is one of the exceptions for me. It evokes all kinds of white and spotless things, it is like a cloud of snow-white, fragrant petals strewn on freshly washed bed linen of the same color. This round dance of aldehydes, flowers and musk is the epitome of the crystal clear Swedish minimalism.

Blanche is a perfect fragrance for work (in case you do not work at a laundry ;-), for a walk on a rainy day or just for indulging yourself in the crispy feeling of cleanliness.

Fresh and floral sunshower, you can practically feel the flowery water dancing on your face and skin.
Aldehydes, peonies, roses, and musk with touches of pink pepper and orange flower. Lightly soapy, lightly spicy, works for spring & summer.
One of Byredo's absolute best.

BaldBoyBaris

The smell of washed sheets dried in the sun. Aldehyde provide the sense of sunshine, and the rest provides a smell of laundry detergent or soap.
On my body the fragrance can be a little bit sour, but not an unpleasant taste.
Good for clean and simple dress.
------
干净,阳光下晒的洗过的床单的味道。醛提供阳光味,剩下的提供一种洗衣粉或肥皂味。味道稍微偏女性化一些。
在我身上有点发酸,但不是让人不舒服的味道。
适用干净简单的着装。

I love this perfume. Clean, floral, and with a little sweetness on me. An everyday kind of scent. Does not smell like you are wearing perfume, but maybe it could be your laundry soap. I read in a couple of these reviews that it smells like public bathroom soap. I guess I could see this being true in some ways ughhh. But I’m not going to let that ruin it for me. I still love it. If you like laundry scents, I would recommend getting a sample to try it out.

Scouthome

Byredo Blanche was my first Byredo perfume that I got as a present from my Mother who is now no longer with us. And to be honest Blanche is probably in reality my true signature scent. She, (I call her she as she has a she name…for me. But that doesn’t mean I do not think this is absolutely a unisex scent. Because this scent blends a lot with your skin scents and will lean either more feminine or more masculine depending on who she rests her head on…).

I do have a lot of perfumes and most of my flasks will probably last me a lifetime. But Blanche I have since I first got it from my Mother repurchased, not just once but twice! That’s how integrated she has become to my everyday self. Apart from her there are only two more perfumes in my life that I have ever repurchased (Coco Mademoiselle being one of them) so that alone is telling a lot. She also layers well with some other players.

Blanche is such a well executed composition that very clearly belongs among the clean fragrances, but I would absolutely not describe this as laundry detergent leaning!! (What lux laundry detergents do you guys use!!?) But rather how white laundry washed in very expensive exclusive hand wash detergent may smell once it hangs outside to dry in a garden surrounded with newly cut grass and lovely pink and violet and orange flowers who together offer a whiff of fresh air which blends itself with the aldehydes from the clean laundry. And once you put Blanche on your skin and go out in the sun she warms up and blends with the warm scents of your skin she offers a breath of fresh air and coolness to the heated up skin which to me is quite irresistible.

On me the longevity is quite ok. She lasts on me throughout the day with a rather light but still beyond pure skin scent projection and can for a few hours also leave a bit of sillage behind me. But not stronger than allowing this to be very office appropriate.

In essence Blanche is everything I wished the old Estée Lauder White Linen would be but were not… And to this day one of the most perfected blends from the Byredo house. ❣️

itsalwayssunnyd

i was intrigued by this because apparently, it is quite popular among korean youtubers and korean women, as they like a more clean, soapy fragrance (don't quote me on this - that's just what the reddit folks are saying). I can't help but feel like I am too heavily swayed by what's popular here in the west to truly appreciate it. i kept waiting for....something. it all feels too airy, I wouldn't even describe it as clean, since anything I use to clean myself leans either clean-powdery, clean-floral, or clean-laundry. even the most basic of soaps has some sort of scent to it (thinking of olive oil based soaps). all that to say, I am not adverse to clean scents, but this is so aldehydic its just void of any sort of character. I can see why that may appeal to some, but as jclmnxx put it, it just smells sterile to me.

kingderella

It's giving "vibrant floral" up top, settling into "clean laundry" as it goes on.

I generally don't love florals and I don't wear scents that are very feminine but I quite like this one. I think this is the one floral I'd wear.

The floral opening skews feminine but the lack of sweetness keeps it unisex-ish. As it settles into its clean/detergent/soapy phase it becomes 100% unisex.

If only it weren't so expensive :/ It's very much a spring scent, I'll wait until next spring and see if I still want it.

luciant

Smells very floral and powdery, like laundry detergent. Not for me, but if you want to smell clean like wet laundry go for it

jclmnlxx

i don't really like it. i thought it would smell powdery and light on my skin because most reviews said so but it just smells so...fizzy? it does smell clean, but not the "got-out-of-shower" kind of clean—for me, at least. i think it's more like sterile? yeah. it kind of smells like the inside of a hospital or clinic for me so i don't think i'm going to wear this perfume that much.

mklouise24

It smells too soapy and powdery. Like you just took a shower and had a fresh laundry on. Not my taste because of the lack of depth. But i guess if like clean scents, u might like it.

chrisaied

When I entered metro I felt this aroma, so familiar.. And I knew, it was Byredo Blanche!
Intense and you can feel it by 15 feets, and after shower and 2 days under Sun you will smell it.
Not smell of soft clean skin, but a soap and fresh t-shirt or percil…
Too ‘chemical’.
I love it!

michaeld2986

This is a very clean white musk blended with light florals and aldehydes. It's a really nice 'fresh out of the shower' scent. Great for the warmer weather and I feel a man or a woman could wear this. You can tell this is a very upscale fragrance blended with high quality ingredients just like all Byredo fragrances. It's subtle enough to wear in an office environment and I personally get about 4-6 hours longevity and it projects at arm length. Blanche is my 6th full bottle purchase from Byredo's house and I'm glad I have it as a new addition to my collection.

allthatis_barelythere

I liked it a lot at first. Fresh, clean, powdery. It definitely reminded me of classic laundry soap scent, in quite cozy and comforting way. Unfortunately I read that some people think it smells like public bathroom soap, and now I can’t un-smell it. It is way too accurate.

Pampelmousse

Do you like that “tickles the nose” effervescence of a Dove soap bar? I don’t, but I just can’t shut up about expert craftsmanship of Byredo perfumes and Blanche is on my list to review. It’s clean, it’s bubbly, it’s so very soapy. The aldehydes are sitting in the front, middle, and rear of this freshness show. To my nose, they are exactly at the border of being over-done. The -hydes can take on a weird fatty quality, which ultimately puts the fragrance off for me. If you like clean and aldehydic scents, Blanche is a shoo- in and the projection and sillage is above average for this house.

Lalavignia

"White" is very apt indeed. Smells clean. Not out of the shower clean but more out-of-the-washer clean. Nothing special but very utilitarian because who does not want to smell clean all the time, right? Not head over heels about it but I'm surprised I rreach for it A LOT.

ScentFairy

I liked it A LOT on the paper when I sprayed it in the perfumery, but I really do not like it on my skin. It is TOO powdery and TOO soapy for me. When I was at the perfumery, I even wrote down "a better version of Lazy Sunday Morning by Replica" as a note to myself but I change my mind. I haven't tried Lazy Sunday Morning on my skin yet, so I'll have to find out what that would be like.

HorseFriend

sometimes you want to smell like a nice clean soapy lady, okay??

Greentig3r

Bought a tester after reading the reviews here.
I’m surprised there was no mention of lilies in the notes, or mention of D&Gs Feminine.
I can’t get along with this, it’s all lily and soap with no powder or freshness.

ko.yours

When I first sprayed it on a test strip I thought it was really cute, but remember that the test strip slowly turned into an incredibly soapy smell. Today I sprayed it on myself regardless and it smells like dish soap? Like I just did a huge amount of dishes and didn't rinse
Why

Philosocat

Flowery fizzy soap.. reminds me of a bath bomb. Does smell clean and inoffensive to me. Not a love, but something I could see myself spraying on laundry to freshen it up.

deepernet

As soon as I sprayed it, I knew I couldn’t handle this scent. Immediately, I was awash in the smells of the airport. Some cleaning solution mixed over gasoline and overused bathrooms. This is reminiscent of the pink, goopy, industrial soap they use in conference room commodes. It’s a smell that’s clean, but not fresh. It’s florals over b.o., but in a way that made me feel ashamed of the naturalness of human elements beneath. I detected the same notes throughout the dry down, but I will say it softened from its sharp, acrylic, freshly-cleaned tile smell to that scent simply soaked into skin. Close up, I enjoyed the floral notes — the violet and peony were distinct and lovely. And, in brief moments lingering near my wrist, I almost got, surprisingly, marshmallow? Where did that sweetness come from? But, alas, at the distance from nose to chest/arms, this scent was a shrill note in my nose; a clanging that gave me a headache. Blanche lasted all day, Ms. Devereaux would be proud of her stamina, and even made it through a scrub in the shower, which if you enjoy this scent would be to it’s benefit.

martaisarollingstone

It smells like a more sophisticated version of Pur Blanca by Avon. :D

mrshnchnkm

Smells like Dove Pink Beauty Bar. I like to wear it in the summer because this fragrance is perfect on hot skin and my skin smells like I'm just out of the shower. Not sure if it's worth the money though.

ThePinkRepublic

This smells like a standard white bar of soap. Immediately upon first spray I was reminded of my bottle of Moschino toy 2, they are nearly identical in the opening except Moschino is a tad sweeter (and more pleasant). I think that if you were to wear this perfume, most people would think you had just washed your clothes rather than that you had applied a perfume. I don’t know that this scent is worth the price unless you’re a really big fan of white soapy scents.

humphryclinker

Blanche opens with a frenetic burst – aldehydes, peony, and rose centifola . It's a whopper of a fragrance, where the aldehydes take a starring role. After the dry down, the aldehydes still burn bright and the smell of fresh linens mixes with the more delicate musk and sandalwood in the base notes. In contrast to some of Byredo's other fragrances, the sillage and longevity here impress. A single spray does a lot of work and is going strong after 5 hours. I'm not a big fan of laundry scents, but if that sounds up your alley, then the complexity and performance in Blanche makes its more expensive price tag well worth it. Clean, fresh, a scent to hang the clothes out in the garden on a May day.

Rachuy

Violets & aldehydes. This is beautifully composed. Delicate and shy, but strong and alluring. Simple and quite linear. It’s opening is fresh and it’s heart a cool soft violet. Reminds me of Parma violets candy. Mmmmmm. To me it smells mainly of pretty Violets. More than innocence, I think it captures truth.
I think the violet note is where the comments for washing powder are coming in, not just the aldehydes, however it’s subtlety different and has a warm, almost fizzy sweetness from the neroli. It’s nuanced. The dry down which is eons away tends to be reminiscent of old lady soaps from a bygone era, this is due the the violet once again and the faint rose/peony/musk/neroli combo. Not a deal breaker in my eyes as the journey has been splendid.
My preference would be to wear as a close scent, one spray, dabbed about.
It can definitely be slathered on, but you’d be missing the point entirely. It’s just showered in fresh sheets and it’s incredibly sexy.

wenshere

This smells like a floral scented soap to me, like it literally smells like one of those LUX soaps. It's not my taste at all as a perfume. It smells clean though, maybe TOO clean to me. That's all I can say.

Ms.Vermouth

Smells only of pepper and astringent chemicals. No floral notes whatsoever. Headache-inducing (as all of Byredo's perfumes, in my experience). Flat. Detestable.

Not worth the money or my nostril hairs.

cocofluff

- Opens with a blast of aldehydes. Smells vintage. Smells fresh and clean. Glad to have a sample. it's ok.
