Crème de Cuir by BDK Parfums is a Leather fragrance for women and men. Crème de Cuir was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Violaine Collas. Top notes are Pineapple, Grapefruit, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are White Suede, Pink Pepper, Sandalwood and Pepper; base notes are Cashmeran, White Musk, Gray Musk, Vanilla and Birch.

"It’s the Indian summer, when the hot days are over and the sweet freshness of the evening begins to fall. A sensual elixir marked with white and beige hues, a pure representation of contemporary sensuality. The perfume evolves through the monochromatic style of Rothko where materials are dancing in circle one after another one. The leather is stripped down, dusted of any impurities, made it white and pure. The green notes embrace passionately while musk and bergamot push to the skies of Italy."

TOP: Mandarin, Bergamot, Pineapple
HEART: Pink berries, White suede, Sandalwood
BASE: Vanilla,Birch oil, White musk, Grey musk

Available as a 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Nice, slightly fruity leather in the beginning, but then it turns to peppery leather.

Devved

opening is wonderful! i wished the fruitiness would have lasted longer as afterwards is turns just to another bitter leather perfume.

Loose Goose

Powdery slightly bitter suede, opening is very bitter.
Mediocre performance

vipariously

Playdoh smell. Not nice.

BALANCE in a bottle! Fresh and light, yet creamy with a hint of depth. Genderless.

This is the scent that I am most enchanted by from my discovery kit that came with Gris Charnel. I love citrusy woods, and this is akin to that vibe just with leather instead of the woods. It starts off quite bright, sharp and juicy with a surprising intensity of the citrus and sweet fruit from the pineapple. The hint of leather comes out in the dry down, and the longer I wear it, the more it transforms from fresh citrus to creamy white vanilla.

The leather is present, but incredibly clean and light. It serves to ground the fragrance and add longevity more than anything - it is not loud, dark, animalic, or lacquered like some leathers can be.

This is classy, intriguing, non-linear, and the kind of fragrance that puts a smile on my face.

P.S. Musks can be a big red flag for me and dominate on my skin, but again the formulation here is stunning and balanced.

onnagreen

its crazy how good this smells. Its soft and creamy, even though I am not a musk fan this is a pretty musk not a animal sneezy musk

smile4thecamera

To me this is class in a bottle. It's so smooth and beautiful, never overbearing. It's mostly light suede glittered with fruit in the opening, then becomes suede and vanilla midway through into dry down. I'm loving that the vanilla isn't an overbearing one. It's only April and I'm already getting tired of all the vanilla in the new fumes out as well as all the high prices. This is worthy of a bottle because it's gorgeous and different imho.

Endlessfumes

Not sure if my nose have betrayed me, but this is almost an unscented water, I hardly can detect any scent from this!

honeybunny1977

I don't have anything like this fragrance. Right off the bat its obvious this fragrance doesn't follow any rules or trends and is very unique. I love the punchy citrus and pineapple at the opening. I go on a scent journey with this perfume and its really fun. All the mid notes show up and the dry down truly does stay true to the note profile with the base notes of vanilla warming everything up. I'd say this one is not exactly a crowd pleaser but it will appeal to those who enjoy something fresh, something different and something unusual. I am not disappointed and this one seems to last on my skin. Its a win for me. *if you like niche perfumes like Francesca Bianchi you might want to try this. Its like a unique piece of art.

Trendkill97

Creamy, crunchy leather scent with a nice tropical fruity touch, clean white musk-suede subtle sweetness, comforting cashmeran that's pretty evidently present throughout, the birch, the pink pepper, this scent ever so slightly reminded me of scents like Tom of Finland by ELDO, Coach Platinum, Paco Rabanne Pure XS, Xerjoff Accento. But this has a bit more playful side cause of the pineapple and fresh breezy citrusy top. Quite unique, warm for those cooler evenings/nights. Good stuff.

Fraglord2022

This is by far the most unique, beautiful, rich scent I’ve ever smelled! This opens up with a blast of creamy citrus that smells like an orange creamsicle. In the opening, it kind of smells similar to Tabarome Millisime by creed, but the softer and sweeter version! Dries down to a beautiful TRUE suede that is authentic and crowd pleasing.

Gillzathrillza

God, this is so good.

I used up a sample before taking the plunge and the first spray from the new bottle inspired an audible groan from me. (I’ve not had this response since my first spray of the delicious JPG La Belle, which is my most worn favourite.)

It’s the perfect blend of suede, leather and citrus. I’m not usually a powdery scent fan but it’s just the right balance for me.

It’s strong, lasts for ages and makes my eyes roll back when I sniff it. Maybe not the most girly and sweet fragrance in my collection but I don’t give a single shit, as I’m too busy fancying myself.

Catch you guys later - I’ve got some heavy sniffing and sighing to do…

CrisMS

💯 on point @notnati review. Beautiful, soft projecting scent, unisex, but maybe best suited for a man in a professional environment. Soft pineapple citrus opening with a smooth (white) suede throughout. Well rounded and balanced transitional scent. Perfect for everyday use when you don't know what to wear, but want to smell good.

Dor_ili

I don't know why this perfume has such a low score. It is stunning. I love it,it is so well balanced,so interesting,so different and intriguing. The perfect unisex perfume, definitely genderless.

Forever Neil

I've fallen out of love with Creme de Cuir. Creme de Cuir used to be my favorite BDK. It's an unlikely mix with suede and bright citrus. Soft projecting. I think I initially loved it because it was an unlikely mix and found it super interesting.

notnati

Writing another review after having spent a while with a full bottle. This is a beautiful, beautiful fragrance. It has the perfect balance of lovely suede and citrus (and I'm not usually a fan of citrus!). But I don't find myself wearing it often and I'm thinking of parting ways with my bottle. To my nose, it has this cold quality to it that makes the fragrance more masculine leaning. I would love to smell this on a man, and if I wasn't chronically single I would pass it on to my partner for sure. I also struggle a little bit with when to wear this, as to me this is a strictly transitional weather fragrance, due to the juxtaposition of cool quality and leather. Beautiful nonetheless.

Fountain30

The notes are beautiful and it’s a very well constructed fragrance but it’s just way too soft for me. I’d exclusively wear it for the office and that’s it. You won’t make a statement wearing this because it’s barely there. Light, airy and soft leather with subtle citrus accents. That’s all.

Odor Aeternitatis

Each note in this fragrance is subtle. It begins with citrus and transforms into a heavy musky and leather scent. The leather note is named "White Suede", and as the name suggests, the leather is very soft and looks like a mild white suede.

These days it's hard to find a fragrance without vanilla! Vanilla is a beautiful note but I don't believe it should be in every fragrance! But, the birch note in this particular fragrance is very good. Its concentration is perfect and adds a woody-smoky touch to the scent. It blends well with the spices and leather notes to create a well-rounded scent with a character.

This is a good fragrance but it's not niche in terms of being creative, or unique. I also appreciate that tt avoids the current trend of being overpowering.

I just couldn’t handle this one…My skin just doesn’t do leather scents very well.. for some reason it turns it to petroleum. After 20-30 minutes it smell better but still it has a rubber-oil smell on my skin. After an hour it smell nice like a warm vanilla scent on my skin.

temporalgrace

It really does smell like a burning tire (I blame the pineapple). Absolutely not. I'm beginning to think this house is just not for me lol

wes47

This might be a little lengthy, so I apologize in advance lol. This was a slow burn for me, and DEFINITELY not a love at first sniff. Okay so a little background; I blind bought a bottle of Gris Charnel because it was the most hyped up from the house of BDK, and with it came 3 samples. Rouge Smoking, Créme de Cuir, and Velvet Tonka. This was early on in my fragrance journey, and I just don’t think my nose was developed enough to enjoy any of the samples. Rouge Smoking smelled like cherry cough syrup, Velvet Tonka just smelled,, weird and unusual to me, and Créme de Cuir smelled like a sharp burning tire, so I ended up putting them in my closet and forgetting about them... Fast Forward a year later and I find these samples while rummaging through my closet and decided to give them another sniff just for the heck of it. Rouge Smoking still just smelled like cherry cough syrup; Velvet Tonka still smelled weird to me.. but THEN I got to Créme de Cuir. I put a little dab on my skin, waited about 15 seconds to let the alcohol dissipate, put my nose to my arm and my jaw DROPPED. This burning tire turned into the smoothest, creamiest, most beautiful BUTTERY suede, vanilla, musky scent I have EVER SMELLED IN MY LIFE. I literally ordered a full bottle the next day and I am honestly thinking about getting a backup bottle because, as much as I dislike the idea of me having a singular "signature scent", this is probably the closest thing I will ever have to a signature scent because I wear this every day and it is such a hidden gem! I NEVER WANT TO STOP SMELLING THIS. You will smell completely unique. The projection and sillage are soft, so it's unlikely anybody will smell you unless they enter your personal bubble, and the longevity is a moderate 6 hours. As somebody who usually like to wear multiple fragrances a day (one during the day, and one at night this doesn't bother me). I wear this to the office every day and somebody complimented me while I was wearing this actually lol... Somebody told me, "You always make the office smell really good", and I usually spray 6-8 times since this is a softer fragrance. I cannot wait to experiment with the versatility of this fragrance in the spring and summer, however it is GORGEOUS in cold weather. Every time I smell this fragrance, I involuntarily smile... Like a smile literally forms on my face without me even thinking about it. PLEASE BDK DO NOT EVER DISCONTINUE THIS, ITS SO AMAZING!

kennedim1022

I truly just get dusty, old, grandpa’s brown leather jacket from this. I really wanted to love it but it’s just not for me. Super powdery and a bit headache inducing. I don’t get any of the fruity notes from this one. Maybe it just didn’t work with my skin chemistry, but it’s a hard pass for me

Tuck

I love the note of suede so I love this! It’s soft but strong. It sticks around and gives off a soft silage but it’s definitely present. It you like Tom Fords white suede you will love this as they aren’t the same but maybe second cousins. This also VAGUELY reminds me of Liz Claibornes perfume called Curve Crush (in hot pink can/bottle from years ago), but this smells much more expensive. Overall if you like the suede note this is a go.

ImNosey

It’s what everyone has said: creamy, fruity, musky suede. It’s also pretty + soft to the point of being boring. Nothing quite stands out. If you liked this but want a brighter fruit opening or more suede, try Soul of my Soul from ELDO.

Tshahb

On skin I get little to no leather, which leaves something resembling a citrus designer scent, but executed through a delicate lens.

Another reviewer pointed out a sort of dentistry smell. My uncle is a dentist, so I spent a lot of time at his surgery as a kid, and I agree, it's there, although I may not have put my finger on what it reminded me of.

It's a subtle but strange scent, the more I smell the more I feel there are clashing notes in here, but it's so gentle perhaps it works anyway.

It's not for me but I respect it.

shokravee

weirdly familiar, when i first smelled this blindly, i thought for sure a designer. i wrote down these notes being present without checking fragrantica or knowing what it was that i was smelling: orange, orange blossom, lavender, vanilla, musk, ambrette, pepper and leather. the opening weirdly resembles YSL libre, which is why i thought this would definitely contain orange blossom and lavender, which to my surprise are not in the cocktail. in the dry down is where the niche aspects of this bloom, it kind of resembles atelier materi DNA of musk/ambrette + suede, in fact, it reminds me of both bois d'ambrette and iris ebene, it's more about the soft musk and leather than the citrus/floral touches. it's ok, i think many people would like this DNA, for me personally i don't think that i particularly care for the opening and i prefer bois d'ambrette.

Enrium

Crème de Cuir (great name) is, fittingly, a smooth leather scent with an interesting fruity opening. I like leather scents, but they can be inconsistent, varying greatly in composition and quality. This one is as beautiful as it is approachable - buttery-soft throughout in the manner of high-quality leather goods. It also has some points of interest, namely its fruity opening.

CdC is a leather-led scent from initial spray. The fruity accord follows closely, tart and bright, with a nicely-balanced sweet-sour quality. Although it shouldn't, the fresh fruity accord melds seamlessly with the leather, adding a bright counterpoint to the darkness of the leather. The leather here is very smooth and polished, like an expensive handbag. The fruitiness adds to this effect, refined and slightly sweet. It is not dry birch tar-like leather, nor harsh synthetic woody-leather. It isn't even particularly suede-like initially.

As it develops, a soft woodiness creeps in, complementing the leather accord nicely. Soft peppery spice marries nicely with it, adding a hint of warmth. Vanilla emerges fairly early on, adding smooth, creamy yet subtle sweetness. It is all wonderfully smooth, remaining so until final fade. It is well-blended throughout, with hints of the opening fruitiness remaining until the drydown phase, and leather permeating this scent throughout. It fades to a musky skin scent, becoming slightly dry as it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate, and it is perfectly unisex. It is a transeasonal scent.

A smooth, creamy, fairly subtle take on leather, this is high-quality and nicely-composed. Effortless but refined everyday elegance. 4/5.

AnastasiaGostieva

Beautiful blend of fresh icy citrus, bright pineapple and scratchy spices followed by warming velvety suede and soft creamy woods. Amazing scent that combines both fresh and warm facets.

Very pleasing scent. If beige was a smell. Lingers in the background. Only really noticeable when up close and personal.

Juliana Ch

This is AMAZING! It is such a soft and welcoming leather. It is also sweet, so I think it’s more feminine. I never thought leather could smell so good and not super masculine. This is a first for me. I got 8 samples from BDK and this one is my favorite, alongside Tubéreuse Impériale. Most of BDK is great. But this one would be my first full bottle from BDK. It is such a soft and sexy scent. I’m just amazed.

Fafoo

Love at first sniff! Such a smooth scent.. the leather note is so clean and buttery, with a beautiful citrus opening that turns into a clean yet sensual scent that is so sophisticated and elegant without trying too hard.
Perfect signature scent for unisex fragrance lovers that are seeking for a scent that is both unique and niech but wearable and versatile!
I can easily see myself wearing this one through seasons and occasions, not the performance is great, lasting about at least 7 hours before turning into a lovely skin scent.

Fountain30

Really nice if it works for you but sadly smells like sweat on my skin

Ba2siK

Crème de Cuir is an undiscovered gem in the world of fragrances.
Its unique combination of leather and pineapple notes creates a truly distinct and clean scent.
The leather exudes sophistication, while the floral undertones add an elegant twist.
This fragrance is a unique and understated choice for those who appreciate something special and refined.

Dawnya7b

For some reason I am somewhat anosmic to this one. I can smell it faintly in paper but on skin it’s nonexistent. From what I can smell it’s beautiful and musky, it reminds me of glossier you which I really like but a more refined version of that. Maybe my sample is bad but I got all my samples from twisted lily but you never know. I’ll try it again after my showe on clean skin and clean pallet and update

DariaDark

Light, fresh, happy. Not quite enough.
That was my initial reaction. Boy was I wrong! If this was a man, I wouldn't give him second glance; but he came to me, kissed my hand, took me for a ride and made me beg for more!

The initial spray didn't turn my head. I could see this on a very young man, teenager even. Citrusy and soft woody, slightly leathery... Very cute.

Then, 180° turnaround! And the drydown is to die for! Oh yes, this is what does it for me! Fresh spicy masculine with decent cloud around. I wish I could make this my mans signature scent! I'm not sure if I can pull this off but I will definitely try. I am completely down on my knees! To me, after a few minutes of pure citrusy nothing, this is a sexy new fresh cleaned car with a sweet but adventurous man behind the wheel, kissing my neck while parking on a lookout somewhere, enjoying the night sky and lovely view.

Pay attention to the negative comments as well, they are spot on too, just the impression and interpretation is different. To me, all that "cleaned truck" and "wet wipes" mix together very well in a sensual and generally pleasant complex scent.

The pineapple is very light, but somehow it is not lost in this composition. Far from it actually, I think it reaches the farthest. On skin, the blend is leathery and aromatic fruity, manly, sexy, throwing my underwear (and money!) kind of WAU! Cozy enough for autumn and winter, but in the same time, fresh enough for spring and summer. Fresh daily scent, mysterious evening date scent with maybe some after-party on the back seat of the car... Paints very vivid images, let me tell you. I need a cold shower and a full bottle of this right now!

Gulsah Sezgin

Very unique and versatile, sillage is really strong on my skin and it lasts minimum 7 hours. It suits to fall time I believe.

Farrque

Candied ginger, elemi, jasmine, bready tuberose which then turns into a veeery smooth, slightly medicinal leather.
Interesting combo, for sure.

Ba2siK

Smells amazing, clean, laundry, but super weak performance.

AveParfum

Gross—I’m done with this house the way I’m done with MFK. Overpriced chemicals is all they are. There’s no pineapple here, no suede or wood. It’s a headache-inducing vanilla plastic scent, like a cheap vanilla candle made with a poor quality wax like paraffin. Worse than a Yankee Candle. Kind of smells like baby doll rubber too. Not masculine whatsoever! Way too sweet, synthetic vanilla and dolls. Blech!

Baltabarin

CRÈME DE CUIR - It starts with a contrast between the freshness of pineapple and citrus, and an almost tangible warmth provided by animalic notes.
As the minutes go by, the more citrusy and tangy notes evaporate, leaving behind a candied pineapple that blends with vanilla on a much more significant leather backdrop, along with a musky accord reminiscent of laundry soap without too many frills.
The result is a harmless fragrance, yet not lacking in personality and originality, in line with BDK's concept of a modern classic, elegant and sophisticated.

MelissaKS

This is a nice citrus and suede scent with a hint of sweetness from the pineapple in the top and the vanilla in the dry down. The suede in this reminds me of the suede in Tom Ford’s White Suede. I think it’ll be nice in the fall and spring when it’s warm, but not hot or cold.

It’s unisex leaning slightly feminine.

My husband likes this one a lot and he usually thinks my fragrances are just “ok.” That’s a win for me.

Marie20707

It’s not the scent profile that I would go for. It’s inoffensive and it gave off a soapy smell on my skin. It was probably the way the citrus and the suede leather came together. It’s unisex and right down the middle that it can be worn by men or women. I can’t speak on longevity, but projection is moderate.

Charmedbymeghan

One of my favorites from the house out of the 7 or so that I've been sampling. Velvet Tonka is another favorite. While I enjoy both of these, I'm not sure they are Full Bottle Worthy quite yet. I really enjoy these 2 fragrances but I feel like they are similar to other fragrances I enjoy and may have some more unique features. Although these would be an easy reach. Gris Charnel & Extrait are maybe more interesting, although I enjoy the comfort of fragrances like Creme Du Cuir & Velvet Tonka more these days.

Zoeanne

Really doesn't work on my skin, it smells almost animalic and I hated it. BUT on my husband it smells lovely, citrusy and cozy at the same time and the leather just adds some nice depth to it.

sakrosankt

This is my darling. Can't quite put my finger on what makes this one so special, but I loved it right from the start. I feel like Prettylittlejedi and SereneWerewolf described this perfume quite well.

It begins with a slightly sweet spritzy citrus and then starts to envelop you with a cozy fuzzy soft vanilla but the suede keeps it from getting trivial. First I wasn't sure if it represents "me" though. But I grew into it and feel like I won't get sick of it in the next decades. Thought I could only wear it in Fall and Winter but it's even nice in Spring and Summer. Never too sweet, never too loud, never boring. I bought the full bottle at full price when I passed a very important exam and I'm so glad I can tie this memory to it.

My husband, who is extremely picky, turns up his nose at 90% of my samples and shirks giving an opinion when asked, said of his own accord: Oh, this one smells really nice. It was kind of earth shattering :D

Prettylittlejedi

I bought a 10ml decant of this scent in late April, knowing that I would be working on site for most of the month of May. I bought a second decant a week later because I was afraid I would run out and i never want to stop smelling this scent. It's also one of the only frags that I get consistently complimented on. If I am wearing Creme de Cuir, someone will approach me and ask me what I'm wearing. I had a stranger follow me into a medical appointment because "you smell so good, I literally floated here on your scent trails". I purchased a full bottle immediately.
It smells so elegant and sophisticated but is still somehow also comforting and cozy... like an high class hotel. For me it's the birch note that really makes it special though, it's just so unique and blooms so beautifully in warmer conditions. I think I found my signature fragrance.

Jays_Juice

Before it was discontinued my go to fragrance was Bvlgari Black (hockey puck bottle). This is the exact same scent in my opinion making it a must buy full bottle for me. Now I’m impatiently waiting for my package to arrive.

SereneWerewolf

An elegant but playful feminine leather that is unlike any scent combination I’ve ever smelled and which blooms in hot weather despite the predominant leather note?! This is a rare gem.

Creamy and opulent white leather meets latex meets pineapple and tropical citrus with the faintest traces of marshmallow (evoked by the vanilla and musk)… I’m not gonna lie, the rubber glove comparisons are valid but if you can get over that, you’ll likely be able to even appreciate it. For me, it adds a sense of cool sterility that is an absolute treat in warmer temperatures.

Crème de Cuir is unique to the point of being a bit odd but maintains sophistication and its unusual nature gives it an heir of exclusivity in my opinion.

I find this quite versatile. Probably most appropriate as a nighttime scent on pricier date nights but I’ve been enjoying this as an easy reach clean scent for running errands during the summer. The unique sterile quality that I mentioned before is totally delightful and the thrill of an ultra smooth leather that is warm weather appropriate is simply irresistible.

emgailba

Whoa--this is MAN. I really love it for an actual, hair-on-the chest, bearded man with some life experience.

jojococo777

Male all the way. Smells like my dad's truck after getting cleaned at the dealer (leather seats & interior). The leather cleaner or whatever (I'm a woman, idk) has this citrusy quality. I just read the reviews and people are mentioning it smells like a cleaning supply or leather cleaner, 100% agree. The name of the fragrance translates to “Cream of Leather”. Don't know why this is marketed and voted as unisex. I love unisex scents and it's what I gravitate towards, hence me buying this sample, and I don't like it for myself.

JamesGamez

Emmm…Pepper and leather. Dries down to an antibacterial wipes smell.

pale-cinder

Smells like a hospital. Longevity is zero on my skin.

TabledThoughts

Very peppery.
Reminds me of Rogue Man combined with VS Heavenly.
Unisex but would be lovely to smell on a man.

Tupac1971!

I am completely obsessed with this fragrance! I have tons of samples from BDK and this is seriously my favorite. The white suede, sandalwood, vanilla, and white musk is so intoxicating. I bought this in November on a trip to London with my sisters and I am almost done.

Annybear

I smell like leather cleaner. Probably not what I'd like to smell like.

Xela_529

Another underrated offering from BDK. I wish people would give her more attention. She's a lovely fruity & woody suede. If you enjoy suede & leather notes I highly suggest this one. I would wear her on a crisp fall day. She's effortlessly sophisticated and masterfully blended. For me this is a 'I have my sh*t together' perfume. But it's not as in your face as a 'boss lady' perfume. Just wonderful.

myjebo2012

I sampled this last year and thought it had a warm smell to it that layered closed to the skin however I grew confidence of buying a FB and it arrived today. This is only an old rendition of Blvgari Black. Period the END!

PetyaK

I have this one , Gris charnel and Velvet Tonka from BDK and they are all masterpieces! The brand is just incredible overall and has unique frags- full stop!

astridkh3

Tried out my sample of this for the first time today and I love it! Starts out as a creamy fruity leather, and becomes sweet and woody over time. The wood reminds me a lot of trips I’ve taken to the Martin Guitar factory where they walk you through the production floor from start to finish. Like warm pine and birch. I find this to be a truly unisex fragrance, unlike many unisex perfumes which feel very masculine to me. would definitely suit a man as a daytime scent or woman as a nighttime. May get a bottle to split with my boyfriend

Hartsy3

This has become one of my favorite perfumes of all time! I don't think I would have noticed the fresh fruit on my own, but since I've referenced the notes, I can see how the mandarin and pineapple give this a fresh energy, making it suitable for all seasons, really.

For me, leather notes always give perfume an egdy, "cool girl/cool guy" vibe. It's the olfactory equivalent to wearing a leather jacket, giving you sex-appeal with an air of unavailability. It says "yes I am sexy but I am not to be f***ed with!" In this fragrance, it's a soft suede with a smooth note of sophistication and elegance. This fragrance is everything I aspire to be in a bottle.

poodleParty

I don't care for the opening, which is like a mix of pineapple and new car seats. It took me a while to like this, but I'm almost finished with my 5ml decant...and I think it's full bottle worthy.

It's creamy, chic, modern and warm. The suede note is there, but it doesn't overpower the musk and vanilla. I think it's unisex, leaning female.

I think lots of ppl are repulsed by the opening, but I'd say that just give it a chance. It doesn't project much, so people won't smell it unless they come close to you. It lasts about 4 hours on my skin.

rightonthenose

When I first put my nose on this, it immediately leaned more feminine. Crème de Cuir reminds me of a Paris socialite who wants to smell luxurious yet understated.

Ignore the top notes, this one is mainly suede, sandalwood, and a slight hint of pink pepper and vanilla. Not sure how people are getting pineapple but maybe I'll try again. It's definitely a leathery-sweet scent.

I kept wanting to smell my wrist, it's definitely an alluring scent if someone can get close enough to smell it on you.

However, it definitely leans more feminine. I actually think my mom has worn something with a similar DNA.

For women: 8.5/10. Luxurious, classy, understated. Definitely worth a decant if you can get your hands on one.

I sampled this along with Gris Charnel and Pas de Soir, I preferred Creme De Cuir out of all 3. Didn’t really care for opening but dry down turned into a soft, clean, white suede that blends well into my natural skin scent. Like a luxurious, modern smelling, thick body cream. It smells clean- maybe even slightly soapy, but in a good way. I also think it’s Similar to Bvlgari Black- it could very easily be a Bvlgari Black flanker (named Bvlgari White). I wish this was made into a body lotion as it would make a great base for other fragrances.

Sniffathon

This goes from a wow to a disappointment as it dries down. The wow component is the juicy opening notes, and right up until the peppery and leathery goodness emerges. But give it another hour and the sillage is smelly man wearing cheap cologne that has dried down over 8 hours vibes.

Acidula

I really love this fragrance, and I was considering the purchase of a full bottle for the cold season. Too bad the longevity is a bit disappointing, IMO.

ArsinoeHelena

Creme de Cuir doesn't work for me in winter but in warm weather. It's a beautiful soft, round suede blend. I'm still amazed I like it even though there's not one single floral. In summer it's bright and nicely fruity, in winter too stuffy, overly sweet. A mysterious scent!

ivaylops

This smells like a way way way way way way better version of Salvatore Ferragamo F Black. I can't stop sniffing my wrist gawd damn!

Steve907

Creme de Cuir is fantastic. To me it's a mix of Dolce & Gabbana Intenso and a soft version of Gucci Guilty Absolute. It's really nice and it's so versatile. Right now in the midst of Spring warming up, I'm looking for something to wear that's not cloying or too heavy. This fits that bill. I think this would work really well as a spring office scent. This doesn't smell like Burberry Touch, but if you like the powderiness of Touch but want it in a slightly more masculine package with some leather, this is gorgeous.

Dumbplings

I don't get the comparisons to luna rossa black...that is mainly pure powdery & rubbery vanilla and sweet....

BDK creme de cuir however is fresh, woody, musky, citrusy, green (yes I smell patchouli, sage & cypriol oil), and leathery.

It does remind me of Ajmal mystery, jaguar evolution acqua essenziale blu, etc...those types of citrusy/woody/musky fragrances

amanda0727

Heck yes I got a bottle even though i said i wasn't going to in my previous review. I am hooked!

Motown28

Received a decant today and I don't know what it is with my nose but this smells off to me. It isn't bad and the sweetness is decent but the leather reminded me of old bus seats.

Ilikewhatilike

Cuir scared me off as I’m not into leather frags, but I’m glad the SA recommended I try it. Very smooth and powdery and comforting. I’ll be giving this more time to test out.

Edit: After a full wearing, I like it. Some juicy pineapple up top, but it remains smooth and sophisticated. Some zinginess stays around in the heart (grapefruit, bergamot and pepper) and it blends nicely with the sandalwood and musk. The suede is soft and ads some body to the fragrance, but it remains calm and subtle throughout.

EternalLight

Reminds me of gin

Ravenrage

Oh my, this kinda really reminds me of my precious beloved last few ml of the discontinued Bvlgari Black. Little lighter, cuddlier and the soft fleeting citrus on top, but the base is similar and I probably need to splurge on another FB now. Shit, BDK, why are you doing this to me.

On another note, I just sprayed a small amount from my sample, but so far it looks like this is quite weak and sort of lacks a bit of depth. I hope it's gonna prove me wrong upon proper wear.

Update: FB is on its way.

stroopwafelslut

I'm so obsessed with this. Smoothest leather/suede I've come across. It's like new car smell but wearable and fancier.
The smooth suede and vanilla in this, in my opinion, is very similar to a long discontinued celebrity fragrance from Taylor Swift called Incredible Things. Incredible Things is MUCH more bright and fruity, so they are not the same overall. But the bases are very similar to my nose.

Tamina

Blind-bought it based on influencers: very interesting scent, but leaning masculine on me. Offering a FB for a reasonable price :)

dreamsis

Love this!
I bought a 2ml decant to try it out first and was very happily surprised with this one. I was interested in trying another suede scent since ALOF's Hallucinogenic Pearl is one of my favourite scents.
As other reviewers have said, this is a slightly smoky, fruity suede with a hint of musk.
I couldn't stop smelling my arm for the first 20 mins, and it turned creamy and yummy very quickly. The musk came to the front holding pineapple's hand tightly as the day went on. Will probably buy a full bottle in spring or summer if it transitions through the seasons nicely. My first BDK.

Violet28

BDK can do no wrong in my eyes lol. This is perfect for everyday wear. I don't like citrus but this is subtle and bright. I really enjoy it

LMBelvi

Very nice opening followed by a super quick fade. It’s dry and professional smelling.

annamal

Love, love, love this one. I have purchased 10ml to "try" and honestly have fallen in love with it. I have super cold skin and so far all the perfumes I've tried didn't open on me at all or opened very little and lasted short. This brand is magical. So if you, like me, have cold skin- run to the shop.
About the perfume: it smells fresh and rich. I hate most of the popular fresh, summery perfumes because they are too fresh (can compare the feeling of smelling them to drinking too concentrated lemonade) and are very mainstream. This one- fresh top notes are very delicate and buttery, close to the skin. The name speaks for itself: this perfume smells like clean skin after the shower with some citrus oil or like a very expensive cream. It doesn't bore me during the day and is a perfect, sexy smell for wearing everywhere.

EDIT: okay, you definitely need to check the perfume in the environment you are living in. IT PERFORMS THE BEST IN A COOL WEATHER. I bought it in Norway in winter and it was insanely nice, but I live in a tropical country so here, it suffocates me and I feel leather sweet notes. And they are not nice, they smell like hot bus' seats mixed with sweet random perfumes in a hot summer day. It makes me sick. Good I didn't buy big bottle.

SailorV

This is a nice scent, and I do like it, but I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't smell like the name suggests at all. I wanted creamy leather and got smokey pineapple instead.
The opening is quite tart and fruity. Pineapple and citrus notes are blended with dry woods and pink pepper and a smokey backdrop that I can't link to any of the listed notes. At first I thought the scent would go into a more masculine leaning direction, but as it dries down, it becomes sweeter and turns into a true unisex scent.
Vanilla and a milky sandalwood warm it up considerably. It even becomes a bit creamy, but still not as much as I would like it to be. The soft white suede starts to get noticeable, too, but it's blended into the smokey and woodsy notes and doesn't stand out as much. Hints of citrus and pineapple cling to the base, so Crème de Cuir retains a certain freshness all through the drydown, even in the final skinscent when vanilla has taken over.

For me this could have been improved with a little more oomph, more creaminess and maybe an amped up vanilla. The notes sound so great on paper, I just wish they popped a little more. It's a matter of personal taste in the end. I still think this is absolutely worth a try, just expect a cooler, more subtle interpretation of the notes, not some kind of leathery gourmand.

lmnsvgz

Writing a new review as I managed to wear it more. Pineaple and clean leather, suede. It smells smooth, clean, with slight sweetness that is fresh due to the pineapple. It smells quite unisex but I think it will be a great fit for a younger man who is effortlessly cool. Same family as Black Saffron but with suede+pineapple, instead of raspberry+leather.

itsmellslikerain

This is really pretty. Zesty opening that transitions to a soft, creamy pineapple. Could be classified as a spring/summer scent. I’d buy a bottle if it were decently discounted.

amanda0727

This one surprised me! Fresh, fruity, slightly spicy but the suede is quite prominent, though not offputting at all. I like this very much! Not sure if I would get a full bottle.

Erica.Cass

Pineapple, suede, musk. Nice but not a love. Definitely unisex.

_jenevieve_

Smells like an old leather glove took a trip to the dentist.

Edit 12/27/22 Tried it again, same reaction.
Thank you, next!

cloudswirl

I really enjoyed this one. It's smooth and well-blended. I love the hint of pineapple, but none of the notes are super overwhelming. The top notes make me lean towards this being a summer scent, but the dry down reminds me of a transitional season scent -- be it from spring to summer or summer to fall.

raiza1990

Very smooth, a bit sweet and softly powdery. It smells classy and calm. It’s pleasant but not a love for me. It’s a bit too soft.

snoopy2

This, for me, is a good autumn scent as I get tired of wearing heavy vanilla based fragrances. The opening is a pleasant, slightly heavy citrus though I can see how one might think citronella candle just in the reminiscence of the citrus. Dries down fairly quickly into soft woody scent. All BDKs that I have sampled have been noticeably smooth with no overpowering notes. I think unisex is a good call on it, not girly or macho in any way.

evarosa

Leather notes hardly ever work on me, they smell like wet cardboard, cucumber, in this case just okay. Opens like a blast of juniper and transforms to a iris-y leather. Neither love nor hate. Lasting power and sillage are quite good.

Trishaaa

This for me takes me back years ago to a much simpler time. I just love when fragrances do this because it really does make you happy straight off the bat.

It's definitely unique with the notes listed but somehow it feels like it'd work best in the summer for me personally. I know that's probably not going to be a popular opinion but honestly that's the beauty of fragrances. They'll all mean something different to everyone, and this one has made me appreciate that journey so much more. Love it!

notnati

Wow. This one is beautiful. Smooth, soft, musky, almost a little milky suede. The citrus notes are blended really well into the fragrance to the point they are not very prominent which is ideal for me (I detest citrus perfumes for the most part), yet they are bringing balance to the scent that would otherwise be too leather-leaning. I find it quite unique, definitely worth a try. I haven't had much luck with BDK perfumes (apart from Gris Charnel, the other ones I tried were a disappointment), but this one I really like! I might actually like it more than Gris. Longevity is great on this one, though projection loses potency after a few hours.

Edit: I kept coming back to it every single day, I had to get a full bottle. This fragrance is stunning, I really wasn't expecting to fall in love with a perfume so heavy in citrus notes but here we are. The bottle is of immaculate quality, as typical with BDK. A hidden gem from this house.

CamillaAre

Its smells like gin and tonic in the beginning. I'm not normally into leather, but this is a bright and soft leather.
Can't wait for the dry down... Never smelled grey musc before!

lmnsvgz

It smells a bit green in the opening. It leans masculine imo, but it is quite soft and quiet. Too powdery for my taste. Suede is an obvious note.

PetyaK

I feel this is the more male or winter version of Rouge smoking - this is stronger but have similar notes!

Lashtx43

Omgsh this is so good. Love at first sniff. The perfect cream powder. Peppery and perfect. I can’t believe I waited so long to get my nose on this. FB worthy!!

amyaz

Suuuuper powdery, I feel like I just stuck my nose in some johnsons baby powder lol. Not my cup of tea personally but longevity and sillage are great.

Rosemary14

This is a very nice soft, smooth, almost buttery leather and vanilla scent. The fruity notes of citrus and delicious pineapple are gorgeous in the opening but then vanish within about 30 minutes. Then at least on my skin the leather, vanilla, and sandalwood stay. My skin pulls hard on leather but this is the softest, most velvety leather ever. It’s powdery and woody in the dry down and has extraordinary longevity. I put 2 sprays on yesterday afternoon and I could still smell it this morning.

Siv7Stars

Redoing this review because I forgot to mention that I thought I'd check this out because it's been compared to both Armani White AND Diesel Plus Feminine.. they were not at all alike but I loved them both.. So I imagined I'd love this but found the opening sharp, which is maybe the grapefruit, then it got too leathery. Feels like a twisted kind of smell, sorry I can't be more articulate about it. It bears no resemblance to those two I mentioned, no idea how others are perceiving those.. If it's like Midnight in Paris that's because they both leathery vanillas. I disliked MinP for the same reason I don't like this, in the end too sharply leathery.

Fragrant_Heat

It is my new addiction, a wonderful concoction of zesty lemon, juicy peach and sour plum that just can't be beaten. This elixir has been a joy to wear and it is hard to stay away from spraying over and over again. Not only does it last anywhere from two to four hours on the skin, but the scent changes as it wears. It is not the same old boring fragrance you are used to smelling. This is not your average perfume either. It's a well mixed up blend of chypre notes, a gourmand with a hint of vanilla and creamy sandalwood, gush it’s warmed up so adroitly by the spice of pink pepper too

Alex Starrick

Crème de Cuir is a stunning fragrance bearing both the strength of leather and the sweetness of vanilla, that comes in a lovely way as a back note. It is yummy and original. The opening is also fresh with pineapple, and the suede comes right in time as a core note, magnifying the opening and not making the whole too sweet. The name of the perfume describes its sent perfectly. It is an ideal unisex fragrance as it will suit every confident and tasty person. It can be worn all along the year and lasts long (the leather and vanilla survive from a day to another, and even resist to a shower) despite not having a very powerful projection; it is a strong but yet discrete fragrance. I love it as a 20 yo man

PetyaK

Smells like PREMIERE JOUR by NINA RICCI… and ROUGE SMOKING smells like NINA the red apple … basically BDK copy NINA RICCI old perfumes 😅

Salalome

Hot weather Test 33°C
This is beutyfull but it also hurts. I wish I could smell it more and huff my wrist cuz it remeinds me of something of my childhood. My fluet teacher comes to minde.
But if I smell my wirst to close kt stings my nose.
I will update this review as I go along.

Update:
Much nicer in the cooler seasons. It mellows out and lasts longer. My favorite from BDK and its on my wish list now

allthatis_barelythere

Unfortunately Crème de Cuir does not agree with me. Personally, I find it quite sharp in the beginning before it dries down to a softer woody-green type of scent. It sits quite close to the skin. On me, it reads very masculine - it has something that smells familiar, like a traditionally masculine fragrance that I’ve come across many times before. Weirdly I don’t pick up creaminess or fruit at all.

Artio

a beautiful soft suede perfume on paper but on my skin it smells of straight up insect repellent. incredibly disappointing

amyloudxn

I'm still going through my sample, but at the moment (in colder weather) I'm finding it a little too similar to Eau Duelle by Diptyque for me to own both.

Dadmehr

Its really creamy suedy nice scent just i get a petrol 🛢 oil note in it! Needs to abate that petrol note to make it more rounded and nicer

Cherry_Darling

I had to really think what this reminded me of - but finally i remembered, it's very samsara / marrousia in some ways. Powdery but in a very subtly suede / leather kind of way, cashmeran, skin, woodsy, vintage, just a touch sweet. You really have to smell it, nothing to do with pineapple or fruits, just has an overall vintage powdery woodsy vibe, but not in the usual way, in the samsara way.

** official sample available, check my customs, get in touch! UK only **

RiddlesKitty

Not looking at the notes, I’d be guessing this is a suede/osmanthus fragrance. The mix of fruit here gives that same fruity floral and tea-like impression osmanthus often has.

MrsPress

I get mostly cashmeran and grapefruit from this. It’s a hard pass for me. Also, extremely overpriced.

Kaylovely

It's giving me a Halfeti & Cuir Beluga vibe. Nice, I would get Cuir Beluga though. Eyeing Halfeti but it's light in projection.

Bubbles1964

Crème de Cuir is addictive, but it’s also familiar.

I pick up some fruit (though no specifically pineapple), vanilla and an ozonic note in the opening, then it morphs to a well done vanilla and suede in the mid and base.

Performance is above average. I’ve been on a trying-on binge because I’m sampling from a niche traveling box—and was excited to see a few BDKs in it. So even though I like this good performer, I can’t get too excited because I think I have something similar….and the exact fragrance is escaping me. I think that’s the biggest issue, Crème de Cuir is just not that unique.

Well done, yes. Full bottle? No.

Luluteeter

This is a beautiful soft suede leather, with a hint of vanilla. I’m not getting the fruity aspect as much.

I REALLY like this but it is so close to the 1998 version of Armani Lei which I own two bottles of 😭

MrsSage

Intensely fruity with a surprisingly delicate suede, very interesting take on a mens targeted fragrance. On my skin its quite tropical and juicy, but on my husband it was warm and creamy. It might be out of some peoples comfort zone but I think it smells great. Not the best longevity but smells incredible on a sunny day.

Zoffe

Fruity opening, but pretty quickly turns into mostly peppery suede. Unisex. Great performance. Sophisticated, classy. Could see this being a great signature scent for some!

LanaDP86

This smells like a comforting hug from a women wearing vanilla perfume who has on a new, expensive, white suede coat while sipping dolewhip. I love the gray and white musk with cashmeran - Very comforting after an hour. The pepper keeps it interesting but doesn't distract from the suede/vanilla. Very unisex. Will be my next purchase.

SwavScent12

Smells like a creamy limoncello

If only it lasted long it would be a great fragrance

Smells great, doesn't last

Edit: retried this and it lasts longer than I first thought. Solid 8 hours and projects heavy in warmer weather. Really nice stuff !

antoniov

For a leather fragrance, it's not bad at all. On my skin it smells more unisex and the mandarin/grapefruit/bergamot accords make it smell like an old-fashioned shampoo. It's not unpleasant though, just not my type.

Arber Cami

Opening is fruity, but fades away quickly. Dry down is suede with milky sandalwood and slighlty musky. A smooth unisex leather fragrance, nothing groundbreaking.

ArrrDee

A sweet, smooth suede fragrance with a hint of pepper. You do have that fruity opening in the beginning, but it's mostly suede. Not offensive and easy to like to me.

mhobol

Creme de cuir is not for me. This is probably the last "powdery leather" I'm gonna try - it is very suede-centered and I don't get the creaminess. It is just dry and I don't like the dust that tickles my nose. Anyway, I would say it is a unisex and pretty ageless fragrance. Moderate projection and quite good longevity.

CCClydes

I enjoy BDK fragrances and have a full size of Triumph of Bacchus. But Crème de Cuir just isn’t my jam. I get a big blast of Citrus/Bergamot and then a dry leather. I find this very masculine and soapy on me out of the gate. I’ll spend some time with her but just feels super barbershop and that’s not what I like to smell like. May be a great clean fresh mens offering though.

Trayce

A Niche Version of Coach platinum with Birchwood creating a Smokey firewood feel that pairs well with the soft musk and suede. In the dry down I was attacked by ♠️ Pepper it made me nauseous and really ruins the fragrance for me.

Liz-frag

Don’t be fooled by the name; this fragrance is not entirely a leather fragrance. I would probably more put it in the « citrusy vanilla » category such as Vanilla Diorama or even Xerjoff Lira. The suede note is just there to nicely balance the blend and make it smoother and softer. The pineapple is there in the opening and offer a nice fruity tropical sweetness, but still very understated and shy. I like this fragrance, I think its very well thought and original and its also quite pleasing to wear with an intimate sillage and an overall comforting cloud, very appropriate for colder seasons but also nice in the spring with the pineapple.

anaikebana

I don't understand what happened when I first tried it, but it impressed me as fast as it let me down. at the first few sniffs on my wrist I was in LOVE, but then when I sprayed it on me/my neck it became cloying and nauseating after 5 min, and I had to scrub it off. pity, because I still think it's a very beautiful scent, but for some reason it's not for me.

iszzieanna

This smells like musk, soft leather and suede. The projection is low and the longevity is even lower.

Ksj_

I have finally found you…

pon_farr

This one sounded lovely based on the description, notes, and some of the reviews. To me (and on me), it smelled like a haunted house. It's that mix of fog machine, rubber masks, and clown makeup. I kept checking to see if the scent evolved in the dry down or grew on me at all. But after a few hours I had to wash this off as it became nauseating.

A.Bandini

I dont get all those notes and sadly i have not much to say about this fragrance as i immediately knew what this one would remind me of: 90% Wick vapo rub, 10% suntan lotion. Not even particularly well blended. Unwearable stuff to me.

Gazel

Round leather fragrance almost sweet, almost spicy and aromatic. Not into leather fragrance but this is a nice scent.

lovelytuberose

smells like firewood on me.

fanntonyoscar

I haven’t understood the leather note being in a fragrance until now. It just doesn’t sound appealing to me. But… this!!! I get it now! This is an exquisite fragrance. The leather note works beautifully with all the other notes. Get a sample and try it - you’ll be glad you did!

ingeneuxo

-Woody, musky, with a refined touch of suede.
-Really well blended scent that is perfectly balanced in the woody: suede ratio.
-I'm really enjoying the suede in this. Doesn't lean too masculine (unlike Tom Ford-White Suede) or too 'expensive handbag' (unlike Hermes- Kelly Calache)
-A standout from the house of BDK!
-Hands down my favourite from this house. (+)

redberry11

nice warm hugging scent. safe and inoffensive. musky. more an impression of leather than real leather, suede bag not leather boots. well blended, nothing sticks out. the pineapple rounds the citruses, middle notes create the texture, vanilla is not too sweet (but still present). unisex. you have very probably smelt this type of pepper-vanilla-musk scent before.

spiceysauce5

Nice refined suede with a slight fruitiness, that’s it.

DemonicCupcake

I finally caved and tried this one, so glad I did! I've been wearing it for a few days, and this hint of nostalgia kept coming back... I couldn't put my finger on why, but today I finally realize! This smells just like a more sophisticated more mature version of Loves Baby Soft, the original one in the can. A powdery musky yet warm comforting scent. A love for me! Def leans feminine imo.

IAmStaka

Well this is just beautiful :) Sooo creamy!
Simple, yet highly effective.
Whoever said it smells like PDM Galloway need to go get their nose tested. Not only do they not smell the same, but they're not even in the same category.

shaeri87

This is the type of fragrance that I looked at the notes and thought, oooh yes I'm going to love this one. Turns out you really have to try fragrances on your skin to be sure (as is almost always the case anyways). Based on the notes alone, I would have blind bought this, but I'm glad I just got a sample. I can definitely smell the suede, that is for sure the most prominent note for my nose, however, the dry down just ended up turning into this powdery, almost baby-wipe like scent that was not terrible, but just not my cup of tea. I did notice however that it sort of bloomed in the shower, so maybe if you live in a very humid climate, or somewhere that rains a lot, this might actually perform well for you. I live in a super dry climate, and even though it is currently fall, it still just didn't do it for me. I asked my husband for his opinion, and he said it smelled basic, or like something from Avon -__- not quite sure what he means there, but he wasn't a fan either. I will also add that my husband's nose is like that of a bloodhound, he can smell things that I can't even smell. Not a safe blind buy, imo.

YUM

I love this frag! What a delightful formula. On the scent stick the top comes trough splendidly. Citrusy! But not in your face. The pineapple is so clever. The bergamot, mandarin, and grapefruit play together so well. As it starts to dry down it starts getting wonderfully complex. The musk, vanilla, cashmere on the base serve as a fantastic foundation for the middle notes. That suede is just intoxicating. The peppers tie in so nicely with the suede and the sandalwood!! what might be the best possible compliment... sits with them in the middle.

BDK really seems like they're a cut above. These combinations of notes just work in ways I never would have guessed. I'm so impressed.

It does have a slightly masculine muskiness about it, and the suede and woody notes are some of the most long-lasting. The citrus on the top is quite feminine but dries down quickly. I'd say its quite unisex maybe slightly more masculine.

Lovely!

Kerryd504

Easy to wear with a great suede note and pineapple up top. It turns into a creamy vanilla suede with hints of citrus and musk. In the air this fragrance is beautiful!
It’s one I’ll keep in the rotation for sure. My only wish is the performance was a little better but it lasts days on clothes. I may be spoiled by extracts though. It goes for about 8 hours with about 3 of decent projection.
It’s more versatile than I thought. Excellent for nights out year round and all day in cooler weather
8/10

Dramaloladiva

This is beautiful. There is enough leather in there to smell perfectly unisex, but there is a certain restraint so that the other notes shine as well. A very beautiful blend. The fruits and vanilla lend a subtle hint of sweetness but only at first. This isn’t a sweet perfume.
As I tried this on one wrist, I sprayed Cuir Béluga on my other wrist and they couldn’t be more different. While Cuir Béluga is sweet, quiet and soft Vanilla, Crème de Cuir is musky, smoky and has soft Suède accents. Both are beautiful blends but absolutely on opposite ends.

It is definitely on my list of future purchases.
I would wear this during the cold months of the year.

Celphie

I came across this one by happenstance.
I had won a full bottle of Rouge Smoking via a giveaway from a local perfume shop, and I liked it enough that it piqued my interest for the brand. I checked out the most popular ones but Creme de Cuir was just innocently standing forgotten in a corner and I had ignored it the whole time (I'm not big on leather so I bypassed it), but then decided to give it a sniff and Lo! and behold! What a wonderful surprise it was!!

Firstly, the dry down of this juice is near identical to my beloved now-discontinued Bvlgari Black (a rubber tire-tea-vanilla concoction. Don't ask! I guess I like to smell like rubber tires).

Second, from the initial blast down to the heart is a delectably spicy and peppery note that almost smells raunchy.

Thirdly, the musk and sandalwood notes tie the whole thing together and give it a lovely, hazy, cloudiness that blurs the harsh edges and keeps the whole thing soft, almost creamy.

This has the makings of a skin scent, but with a much stronger projection and lasting power. Overall, the sexiness of this perfume comes from the fact that it smells like freshly scrubbed skin that got wrapped in a leather outfit for hours, and then the leather is removed and some of its scent has rubbed on the then-clean, now-musky kiiinda sweaty skin, and this is the scent you are left with. I love it!

Ps: Wore it out for the first time yesterday after getting a full bottle and got complimented by my friend. Hey I know it's only one compliment, and it shouldn't matter much, but it counts ok?

Veracruz

I sampled this along with Gris Charnel and Pas de Soir, I preferred Creme De Cuir out of all 3. Didn’t really care for opening but dry down turned into a soft, clean, white suede that blends well into my natural skin scent. Like a luxurious, modern smelling, thick body cream. It smells clean- maybe even slightly soapy, but in a good way. I also think it’s Similar to Bvlgari Black- it could very easily be a Bvlgari Black flanker (named Bvlgari White). I wish this was made into a body lotion as it would make a great base for other fragrances.

Perpetual Collector

This is out of this world. I have no words.

FAV FAV FAV crowd pleaser woman loves to smell it on men

torayumex

As others have said, a very nice, civilized, well behaved, versatile, safe leather….the notes listed make it look perhaps more interesting than it is? This is one of those fragrances that I think most people will like but very few will actually love…it doesn’t really make a bold enough statement for that. Would probably make a good gift for someone whose taste you didn’t know well. I’ll finish my decant, and probably never think of it again

heatherrose

Wow. I can't get enough of this. The citrusy, leathery, woody, musky notes are just blended to perfection. Absolutely beautiful.

savianora

This is one of my faves. I’ve had this since last October and this is definitely a versatile fragrance. It’s bright, clean (not a soapy clean but fresh) creamy, spicy, softly leather scent. Créme de Cuir is super addictive to me, sexy, sophisticated and perfectly unisex. This is perfect to wear when dressed nicely, even smart casual, but perfect for work or an evening out. It’s projection is the right amount; enough for others to enjoy but not offensive. Definitely buying a back up bottle soon. 💕

LovelyLifestyle

Opening: Spicy citrussy
Dry Down: Starts to turn a little soapy and woody
Deep Dry Down: Pricey citrus shampoo

Think Herbal Essenses but if they started using quality ingredients and selling at Neiman Marcus...

myjebo2012

I just received a sample of this today and sprayed it on my neck and pulse points. It smells exactly like Bvlgari Black. It is totally the same composition. Wow!

Mr.dondunna7

The vibe I get with this fragrance is a citrusy and bitterness with the Pineapple and Mandarin Orange 🍊

I then get a soft leather vibe with the White Suede that invokes an image of some delicate suede gloves. Then well blended in a creamy Sandalwood, Vanilla, and a dry yet powdery woody vibe from the Birch.

This is smooth and velvety to my nose and it's beautifully balanced, very sexy but versatile and wearable. Another banger that's full bottle worthy.

Science&Scents

Leather lover here. This is definitely leather but I get distinctly get conditioned, leather car interior--a new leather cover for the steering wheel. It is a lovely leather scent but not sure I'm into smelling like what this conjures to my mind. Especially when my partner is into working on his latest BMW project and just bought a leather steering wheel cover--I helped lace it up so the memory is fresh, I guess. I imagine this would work wonderfully on him though and be very fitting.

Can't comment on longevity but it sits pretty close to the skin; makes it quite alluring for that reason, actually. Definitely a pass for me though.

Edit: Just tried again because the comment above mentioned they got the pineapple-citrusy-ness that I was hoping for. I get that for literally 3 seconds and then is goes straight to leather car interior--citrus.pineapple is completely gone. Must be a skin chemistry thing.

This fragrance smells very similar to Galloway by PDM. Especially in the dry-down. I feel like this one is slightly sweeter & ending with less of a leathery scent than Galloway. This leans a little more feminine where Galloway is definitely more of an ultra male scent with a bit more spice.

Update: after having this for 6+ months I have to add that this fragrance has made me start looking at others from this line do to the performance alone. This fragrance lasts as long as some of my strongest heavy hitters. I get wonderful wafting hints all day. It’s quite lovely. Definitely a leather cinnamon burnt Carmel spice. Not as fresh as Galloway, this is more like an evening scent.

Something I forgot to note from my previous review is that there is definitely a very powdery almost milky feel to this, so much so that when I was wearing a tester of Amouage’s Reflection Man on the back of my hand with this on the other, they felt to me like although they are different, they almost could be from the same family. Reflection is a bit more floral to my nose whereas this has more of a caramel sweetness, but both also sharing a pale powdery space too.

Ahhhh this is SO close to a love for me! Sprayed the sample on a test strip and I really enjoyed the citrusy blast of pineapple in the opening. The subtle suedey leather almost instantly starts to appear just behind it.. then the slightly more powdery, vanilla vibe comes through as it dries down which really completes the feeling of light leathery suede and to me it smells incredible in this latter phase!!

Unfortunately for me, it’s quite a different dry down on skin, and one of my only samples I can ever remember where I much prefer it on the test strip to my skin :/ On my skin, the opening is great but the suede (my favourite part of this scent) lingers much more in the background and the more lemony notes of the citrus are further forward. A real shame - the tester strip still smells incredible and although my skin also smells great, it’s just not as good as the strip.

Projection as with other BDKs I’ve tried is quite low, but the projection on this is even closer to the skin than Gris Charnel which isn’t exactly beastly either!

Hoping one day they reformulate to push the citrus back and bring the suede forward.

7.5/10 but could easily be an 8 or a 9 for me

This is a delicious White suede perfume that is wearable in summertime. If you layer Myrrh and tonka from Jo Malone and a fruity pinaple fragrance I am sure your can get a similar result. Longevity is more than 4 hours on my skin which is good.

KowltheOwl

Fresh, powdery leather w/ musk...not a love for me.

Nooshin (Atghia)

In Crème de Cuir, after a zesty, green opening with the slight bitterness of mandarin and orange, like a brief outline of a cologne, a soft leather evokes the velvetiness of delicate suede gloves or with a wave of nostalgia, the inside of a school satchel. All wrapped up in a beautiful accord of creamy sandalwood, ambery vanilla and dry, powdery woods, it unfolds on the skin with warmth and softness, no hint of excess nor a single note out of place. It’s an outstanding fragrance as my first experience from this house.

Dwallyfritz

I really like this fragrance- it would be a love but the opening is a little too strong/masculine and citrusy for me. (Edit: this opening is so much smoother in the summer! I bought a full bottle...) The pepper notes are quite noticeable in the opening as well. But...but. This one is a chameleon. It changes so beautifully into a smooth, unisex leather/musk scent with a light sweetness that balances the heavier notes perfectly. It is not gourmand. I feel like the pineapple and vanilla carry the sweetness but aren't so defined that it feels like food. The middle of this has that BDK signature, and if you've smelled Gris Charnel or Nuit de Sable, you know what I mean. The suede, cashmeran, and musks are the star in the dry down and give big Armani Emperio lei vibes. It might end up full bottle worthy...
Edit: in the winter this fragrance has moderate projection and longevity but in the summer- a whole different ball game! Gorgeous trail, very good projection, and longevity becomes beast mode! I absolutely love this on a warm summer night.

Maksvela

Leather and peppers, I can not find any citrus note here. Sharp, smoky, rebellious. Not the first choice of mine. And not the second one.

Heidipeidi

Nasty. Smells like some toilet cleaner we had in my home as a child. Ajax powder sort of thing.

hundreds

It does have a leatheriness to it... but it hits me as soapy, and I'm sure that's all it's going to smell like to others. I wouldn't buy it (I have a sample--wish I could actually go somewhere and sample it without having to pay).

A Fragrant Life

My nose has been a little off since recovering from COVID, so maybe this is a result of that, but the opening of this really strikes me as a cellery-esque note. It's not offensive, it just smells like smooth leather and cellery. Interesting, but very short lived on my skin and probably not worth the price tag for me.

ETA: 8 months on this is now a love for me and the celery smell has gone. It could even be FBW.

Is anyone else bored of pineapple? I'm so bored of pineapple! But...

This opens with bright, sweet juicy pineapple seasoned with cracked pepper (any citrus is bulldozed) and seconds later you're hit by the suede. Not a harsh, black leather but a soft, white suede. Incredibly evocative to the point you can almost feel it, smooth and velvety on your fingertips. Beautifully balanced, very sexy but versatile and wearable. With pineapple. And not boring.

Stunning.

LTJ82

Easy to wear, safe, not offensive at all you could wear this anytime IMO
This fragrance opens to my nose like a orange creamsicle then fades to a floral creamy leather and dries to a creamy leather
I felt it leans feminine however my wife disagreed go figure 😎

mychinarose

I usually love leather perfumes, but this one is sadly a disappointment for me. I liberally applied my Scent Split sample today and immediately regretted it. From the name I was hoping for a leather and whipped cream experience because I intentionally didn't look at the note pyramid. Ooooh, bad idea. I get lots of suede and pineapple/grapefruit. So it's a little bit citrusy-sour while also softly suede-y and to me it just doesn't mix well.

noel1stanley

Absolute masterpiece. Woodsy, vanilla Musk which has a slight leather undertone. Imagine a creamy Musk mixed in with a soft, woody smell. I sprayed this on, and after about 3 minutes, I knew that this is not only full-bottle worthy, but I'm not mad at the only option being 100ml. BDK is a brilliant house. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Rating

Binchicken

So beautiful! Creamy sweet powdery white suede, completely unisex in my opinion. The kind of frag that keeps revealing lovely pleasant facets as you wear it.

Funny how people are getting very different vibes from this one- I don't get any citrus. The pineapple I can't pick out on its own, but I can see it might be adding to the sweetness of the cream.

Longevity good, projection not impressive, quite an intimate scent. Could not offend anyone. I would wear this to an important meeting, where you don't want to blast people with your perfume, but you want to feel classy and confident for yourself.

I wish more of the BDK fragrances came in 10mL! I would be all over this. I just don't think I can justify a full 100mL bottle for myself only.

Nothing like TF Noir Extrême...

Crème de cuir has no leather notes nor feel, take a barbershop scent, add pepper + a tiny bit of citrus and sandalwood + make sure the scent is weak and skin scent and you get Crème de Cuir with no Cuir 😤.

Also don’t forget to charge big 💰💰💰for it 😠

If Spicebomb existed in a cologne concentration, this would be it !
Don’t bother with Crème de Cuir, get OG Spicebomb with better longevity, projection and much much cheaper !

Donkar

Somewhat reminds me of TF's Noir extreme and Byredo's Bal D'afrique.
Sillage is good for 30 minutes, then sits close to skin.

aspirina

Very soft leather/suede scent, I almost can't detect any fruit...not pineapple for me! I think it is pleasant, not really sexy, it feels clean and elegant. No sillage to be honest, but it has great longevity as skin scent. More than 10 hours and I still can smell it..if getting my nose on the skin were I applied it. Not full bottle worthy in my opinion, unless you find it for a very good discounted price...

Don't vote down this review. I understand some people might feel offended because a review is not all stars and lights ..but it can keep someone from blind buying a scent that is superexpensive and has NO projection at all!

Forever Neil

First Impressions Smooth Creamy Leather. If you're not so into leather, check this one out. I'd say the most wearable easy going leather of all time.

BDK Crème de Cuir is, as Tamaartje said, a very warm and cosy fragrance. It is a very creamy fragrance and the leather being used is very soft! Not the type of leather you see in all the other fragrances like TF TL or Rasasi. I do smell the musks after an hour or so. Very dry and smooth. The cashmeran in here, smells to me like a: soft spicy, balsamic vanilla. It is a very soft, gentle and subtle fragrance. I do get lots of attention and compliments wearing this fragrance. Try to find a sample and enjoy the ride :-)

Overal: 8.5/10

Tamaartje

The name of the perfume is perfect because it’s a soft, creamy and leathery scent. It’s warm and cosy and easy to like. The longevity is great with a moderate sillage. This is my second sample and I’m still thinking of buying it but probable won’t.. 😉 But it is a really nice fragrance!

Q80

Pineapples & citrus.

This is more grapefruit & citrus with tropical essence than cuir. The leather is dissolved within but it's there, not much visible but it's there. Now the suede is much visible here with the creamy birch that is softened by the vanilla and made that birch kind of cute. The musk, the pepper, and the sandalwood are dissolved within.

It is quite creme as it's name but slightly sweet suede creamy blend with tropical citrus. It's interesting tho and kind of charming but i disliked the salty pineapple note. Cute.
