I love Boucheron Quatre and I LOVE Boucheron Quatre Intense. I'm also a vanilla, almond and pear lover so I ordered Quatre Absolu de Nuit as soon as it hit the market. unfortunately it was a disappointment. the first time I tried it, it reminded me of Burberry Brit. not that Burberry Brit is bad. I used to love Burberry Brit for a while but then I figured out I don't like some aspects of it, aspects which are also present in Boucheron Quatre Absolu de Nuit. I was also disappointed because I expected this one to have something in common with my beloved Boucheron Quatre and Quatre Intense. I expected it to be like a Quatre with amped up sweetness and added gourmand almondy-vanilla facets but this one has nothing to do with Quatre.
I don't have Brit anymore because I gave it away so I can't test it with Quatre AdN side by side but I'm pretty sure they're identical at least during the first hour of their life on my skin.both are described by other people as very sweet perfumes. they're even called sickly sweet, sticky sweet, syrupy sweet. that kind of sweetness could save this perfume for me but unfortunately none of them are really sweet or true gourmands on me which might be because I'm used to much sweeter gourmands. in both perfumes the first couple of hours is dominated by lots of almonds and a fresh, tart citrus note (bergamot? lime?a green pear?) and there's also lots of dry woods(feels like the cashmere wood in Manifesto Elixir) and a hint of powdery vanilla and soapy musky jasmine. I love the combination of almond and vanilla when it feels like an almondy pastry like marzipan or macaron but the almond here is like real raw woody almonds. I'm also not a fan of the citrus, tart fruity note here.I love pear when it's ripe and sweet or like cooked pear in a dessert but it feels hard and green here. this tart and green lime-pear thing is very present to my nose and gives this perfume and also Burberry Brit a masculine vibe.
After an hour or two the tart fruits and intense dry woodyness(almond and something like cashmere wood) calm down a bit and tonka and sandalwood showup making the scent warmer, rounder and creamier but even in this stage it lacks the sweetness I was looking for. it's as if I'm anosmic to the vanilla note in this perfume. I'm pretty sure I would have loved this if it had more vanilla sweetness but as it is, it's a meh. I find it a very office friendly scent because it's completely modern and contemporary but also grown up,professional and kind of serious.
For me Boucheron Quatre Absolu de Nuit is not a dupe of Mon Guerlain but it reminds me of Mon Guerlain in so many levels: I bought
both of them with very high hopes and they both disappointed me. I expected both of them to be very sweet and gourmand but they're not(at least not to my nose). while they both have warm base notes, they also have something cold, dry and clean in them and they both have a citrusy fruityness which I don't care for.

Sticky-Sweet, Golden Gourmand Spiced-Pear Pie with Almond & Tonka-Bean...

I came back to this scent after awhile, and it's evolved a lot as the vanilla aged. Before it was almost a bit thin as other reviewers have mentioned, or like a thinner pear-tonka scent. But now everything is drenched in a creamy-sweet golden vanilla that leans near caramel. Opens with a burst of bitter-almond, bergamot & pink-pepper and already you can feel the creamy-sweet vanilla, tonka-bean & pear coming through. The overall effect here is of a sticky-sweet golden gourmand of vanillic, spiced (faint cinnamon) & caramelized pear pie with almond-extract nuances and soft spice being evoked by the tonka-bean & pink-pepper. Has above average performance for year round wear, but the denser, vanillic sweetness will make most find this best suited to fall and winter. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

I wasn't convinced at first, but the weird thing was that I kept thinking about this perfume and wanting to smell it again. Luckily I had a 2ml sample. Tonka is a note that can ruin any good scent for me, and while it's quite heavy in Quatre Absolu it somehow works! Pear is not really a note I find particularly attractive either, but the sweet fruity aspect in this is nice. It doesn't smell much like pear though (nothing like the realistic pear note Miller Harris created for Poirier d'un Soir), it's more like the synthetic pear scent of an ice cream or a candy.

Quatre Absolu starts out a bit spicy and very "perfumy". It smells very contemporary, but also quite grown-up for the type of scent it is. At first it did indeed remind me a lot of Mon Guerlain (I'm sure this could harvest the same amount of compliments) - they do not smell identical by any means, but there are similarities and a good chance that if you like one you'll like the other as well. In the drydown it morphs into a gorgous creamy vanilla that is slightly fruity and maybe even a tad balsamic? I think I smell benzoin! The drydown resembles the discontinued Untold Absolu by Elizabeth Arden.

I do believe the reviews that says this grows on you. It seems like one of those you'd reach for. It's not linear and boring. It must certainly smell pretty to others and it's more unique than you'd think when you first sniff it and think you've smelled this before. Seems easy to wear as it's not annoying in way. I am certainly getting a bottle!

Lovely - almond & tonka, with vanilla & candied pear - some candied almond too (& just a little lime at the beginning) Almost a hybrid of Burberry Brit Eau De Parfum & Black Opium Eau de Parfum minus any coffee notes; but otherwise that's exactly it. Lasts about 6 hours, quite concentrated, present & lasts well but not overbearing - works well in all weathers except the hottest days of Summer, but this is a 1 spray perfume - or 2 smaller sprays at because it is potent, any more would be far too much, I find this rather lovely, certainly sensual, borderline sexy but not unsubtle, lightly sprayed - & is good for Date Night, Dinner & Christmas or Birthday Parties & any evenings but tbh I think it's not too much for Brunch, Lunch or Afternoon outings, at all, even though it is called "Nuit" & the v elegant bottle is dark smoked glass (great packaging all of it, really - definitely French Elegance) Boucheron make lovely bottles & packaging, & you cannot go wrong with this if you like sweet perfumes & Gourmandes, & are looking for something not "too mainstream" - to me, this is much nicer than the Brit EDP/B Opium EDP it resembles - & much more elegant than the heavier, (& thicker) more simple Elie Saab Girl of Now, & is more complex than that perfume, but not too complex. This EDP is never "too much" as some of the gourmandes can be, espc the sweet ones, this is beautifully balanced, sweet but not too sweet, & real a blind buy win it's really pretty, but in a sophisticated & grownup way, a gourmande for ladies not teens, but not too "mature" - it's fine for young ladies too, though - a good all-rounder.

Interestingly created by the nose who created Burberry Brit EDP also though - so this really is almost that + also similar to YSL Black Opium, too, kind of like a hybridof both - & with some other details to make it just a little more than the sum of those 2, (this also has the not too sweet, candied almond of Burberry Brit EDT that is sadly missing from the Brit EDP - & so a very good choice for sweet but not too sweet perfume lovers. Comforting too, in cooler months & Actual Winter; I like something like this, sometimes if it's a bit chilly & I crave something like this, quite sweet but not too sweet. Love!

Ferra_Verto

Really like this one, somewhere between Burberry Brit & Black Opium, like layering those two scents together. Almond at the start, turns to candied pear and tonka, then on to vanilla & amberwood.
Perfect for autumn & winter, lasts around 6 hrs.

I'm still deciding about this one. Based on the notes, I thought I would love it! (So I blind bought it!) It does have a similar vibe to Black Opium or Burberry Brit, but like other reviews point out, that PEAR note....Hmmmm...The pear note really comes out in the middle notes, and I don't know that I like it. The base notes are good, and this really reminds me of a nice spring version of a Black Opium-ish scent....The base notes are nice, and overall, I do enjoy this one. I'm not sure how often I might reach for it in my collection, but it's a nice variation of the notes I typically prefer.

*Update-Not sure this one is still around, but I used to have a BBW lotion not in the database here, GOLDEN PEAR & BROWN SUGAR scent. This lotion would pair perfectly with Quatre Absolu de Nuit. In fact, Quatre Absolu de Nuit is kind of like the luxury version of BBW's more affordable scent. I ended up returning Quatre Absolu de Nuit, as the pear note I just couldn't get past--it was almost nauseating to me and I can't pinpoint why, but unfortunately, wasn't working for me.

This just smells sultry and comforting. It's a bit cold for SE Texas weather and I put it on my wrist to sample it before bed. Every time I'd turn, I'd get a sniff of the fragrance. I wore it today with a knit shirt. The fragrance was so nice I wanted it to stay all day. Even later in the day, the fragrance on my clothing was present and still giving off an "I'm here, come smell me vibe". Ironically, I blind bought this based on notes. I'd never tried Quatre or any of the flankers. Now, I'm revisiting them.

Alexandra.kom

Am i the only one that smells the tonka intensly?

I like this perfume, the dominant note for me is the tonka beans and the pink peper!

After 2hs it starts gets sweeter and more vanillish.
It is a beautiful perfume- recommend it only for winter as the tonka is overbearing for summertime

mskolchev

I was looking for a really sweet vanilla fragrance and this turned out to be PERFECT! It is very winter appropriate warm nutty vanilla which kinda reminds me of Elie Saab-Girl of now, and I am genuinely suprised no one's ever compared them. They have a lot if similar notes but this one is like a vanilla flanker and a bit weaker (well, Girl of now is a beast). I wear Quatre de nuit at my office and I can smell it all day. It is not a simple fragrance, not JUST sweet vanilla, it has some interesting touch and depth. But it doesn't change, it is the same from the beginning throughout the whole day. 5/5 would recommend for what it is!

I was inclined to buy Quatre En Rouge but decided, on my last shop visit, to try Quatre Absolu de Nuit. I haven't done it before because I tend to avoid all "Intense" version, I always suspect they will be overpowering, which is not my style at all. So I always ignored Quatre Absolu de Nuit. I sprayed En rouge on one wrist and AdN on the other. En Rouge, after some hours, felt a little bit teenager to me: fruity but too sweet, a good start and boring dry down. Is not bad, but the dry down was a disappointment. And then, on the other wrist, surprise! Maybe was this combo jasmine/vanila, idk, but it developed beautifully. It is not groundbreaking, but it is comfortable, warm and well put. Correct, but gracious. It's in my next buy list, Christmas is coming. And I feel really sorry for En Rouge because I find the color gorgeous. The blue one I will by for sure, I don't even care what's inside, that blue is just hypnotizing.

Turns out the reason this smells thin to me is the amberwood. I'm asnomic to it and this has a rather big dose of it therefore it smells "thin". I wish I could smell it because I love Boucheron fragrances usually.

Unfortunately, to my nose this is a pear dominant vanilla without any of those gorgeous supporting notes. I'd say it was a bit "thin". If you like the pear note (and I do) and vanilla only, this is a good deal bc Boucheron makes very good fragrances, I'm just not a fan of this one. I blind bought bc honestly the price was almost as inexpensive as buying a sample, so I couldn't say whether it's a safe blind buy or not.

I had a sample of this and liked it enough to buy a full bottle. After getting the bottle, I didn’t wear it much as I started to find it too chemical-smelling and pear-heavy, almost boozy which I dislike. Lately I’ve started spraying it, lightly, over an argan oil lotion (interesting that someone below mentioned detecting an argan note in the scent itself) and it’s much more palatable, even quite nice. It becomes less chemical and more creamy, warm, well-rounded vanilla. I find myself smelling my wrists all day long and I think it will end up having been a good buy after all.

Kuty22

I bought it, based on the notes and reviews.
I like it, on skin is super sweet mostly vanilla and jasmin.
I wore it in the Winter but I believe you can wear this for any occasion even to the office is not offensive*(I don't consider scents offensive, but the idea is that it won't be bothering anyone).
I'm going to try the original Quatre

grapefruit352

On me this fragrance smells like coffee beans mashed together with almond and the argan oil soap. Coffee beans with almonds evaporates from my skin within half an hour and in the dry down it stays only argan oil soap.
From the beginning till the end, the scent sounds very faint with low projection and close to the skin. I feel it only if I put my nose tightly to the skin. This fragrance was in my wish list before, but now I have to delete it from there, since I had an opportunity to test it in real.

khristyah

I adore this scent. To me it opens sweet and fresh kinda beachy vibes. In the dry down the freshness from the bergamot disappears and it becomes sweater where u can feel the bitter almond and especially the vanilla and tonka. I don’t get the heavy vibe. I can overspay like hell haha. It’s quite similar to the en rouge to me minus the fruits. Overall I think it’s a safe bet for someone that enjoys a sweater perfume.

Madyana

didn’t choose this, this one chose me.
This was my first Boucheron and at first I was disappointed. This wasn’t that kind of thick almond, tonka bean vanilla what I was looking for. But the more I learn about scents and my own preferences, the more I admire and appreciate this Boucheron's scent. Quetre absolu de Nuit is enough of everything and not too much of anything.
Basically, on my skin, this is a just pretty long lasting, quite good sillage, lovely resistant nutty pear scent with a pencil chip kind basewood including little medicinal twist. That is all what I need for my signature. And Boucheron, they know that.

LoveThySmell

It was a blind buy that turned out quite disappointing. The notes seemed alluring, especially with the vanilla, almond, jasmine, sandalwood. The first spray and the burst of synthetic sweetness almost made me nauseas. It was sickly chemically sweet on my skin for quite a while. After a couple of hours, it does dry down to a softer, mellower powdery floral. Longevity is good. But an absolute NO for me.

Amy Ann

Why are you playing with my heart, Boucheron?I saw the Marketing commercial with madam gangster, I saw this beauty of glass and I was already dreaming of 90s Escada scents, earthy, floral, cold, balsamic. I ordered my bottle in the middle of the pandemic and waited for it with my heart in my mouth. And it came and I opened ....to tell you a bad joke if in the bottle would have been Covid I would have been more satisfied there was at least something and I would felt something...so ... well I felt something ... a terrible disappointment. A teenage scent, sweet, warm, vanilla and slightly gourmet, that all. It is not a perfume for a mature woman, much less for a strong one....Please, Boucheron, don't play with the customers' imagination anymore, it's like throwing the candy at us and then pulling it back with a thread from under our nose.

vlarya

This fragrance for me was like expecting sweet, smooth milk chocolate, but getting dark paleo chocolate with artificial sweeteners instead. 😥

Rozan

They would be really elegant if not for the chemical overtones. Pear straight from household chemistry, overclocked with bitter almond and pink pepper. Over time, it joins an amber tree, vanilla only after a long time. Tonka doesn't exist for me. Over time, the smell warms up and makes it more pleasant, more natural, but for the first hour they are unbearable to me. I advise against buying blind. A beautiful bottle.

Taxidermy

A copy of the good old Burberry Brit. Oh, they were created by the same nose.

Luckyrose

Chanced upon this scent and to my nose the opening smells almost like a dupe to Good girl by Carolina Herrera BUT BETTER ❤️. I much prefer the dry down of this to Good Girl. Sexy, sensual and a little naughty. I see other reviewers’ reference to black opium which is an old favourite of mine but would gladly give that up for this. They share the same DNA but do not smell alike. Such an underrated fragrance and I really hope this doesn’t get discontinued in the near future.

ILikeToSmellNice

The classiest gourmand I've ever smelt hands down.

I was in a hurry so only tested this on the paper, might go back to the shop later to test on skin, or I might just buy it online. I really really like this!

faubel

Generic fruity floral celeb type scent in sophisticated packaging. It smells nice, but there's nothing interesting about it. I'd take Rihanna Rebelle, Queen Latifah Queen, or even Jessica Simpson Fancy over this one. Gorgeous bottle though.

Edit: I had to double check I have the right scent because I get more fruit than vanilla, tonka, or almond. Yep, it's this one.

Nonzerosumness

I wish I had read the reviews before buying this. It was a hasty blind buy based on notes because I'm in a nougat/almond phase right now. It smells lovely, but considering I already have Girl of Now, Burberry Brit, Eau de Lacoste Sensuelle and miniature of Black Opium, it doesn't bring anything particular exciting to the table. At this point it comes down to dry down, sillage, longevity and for me, Girl of Now is the winner by a long mile. This one, after 2 hours is barely noticeable on my skin.

bronni666

i get the black opium reference but it reminds me more of roberto cavalli edp.

genny17

Glad I got a sample as i was thinking of buying it...it is very much like black Opium, without the coffee note...rich, sensuous, warm., cozy....nicely done, but has been done so much, and I don't care for another gourmand...it has a delightful top notes, smooth, stylish, but it morphs into a category B sweet scent..The tonka has a pretty quality to it too..no doubt this is very pretty in its execution
nice, but not for me.

Mooniq

Quatre Absolue Nuit is loud, warm, sexy and flirty scent. Perfect party-scent. 1 spray goes a long way on my skin. 3-4 spray makes it thick and awful. Quatre - less is more, and you will get noticed in a good way.

Astar

I had the strongest deja vu when I sprayed it on myself, and it grew as the time passed. My goodness, that's the good ole' vanilla, tonka bean and amber. I mean, 50% of my perfume collection is like this and I definitely don't see a need of another flanker.

yeence

This fragrance is sweet and soft, perfect for the cold winter days. It stays close to the skin, is not offensive, safe for work. A little bit too sweet for my taste, but I love wearing it despite this.

orpailleur

Forget the top notes, they just appear and vanish.
This is a very interesting floral-woody frag, delicate and fine. Quality and magic mix of ingredients is definetely present and great (Interparfum works with Givaudan & Robertet).
Sandalwood and tonka are outstanding, jasmine too.
Very affordable for the quality, lovely.

COSMICSCENTS

I immediateky thought of Fantasy by Britney Spears when I smelled it. It's nice but I wouldn't pay full price for it. The blotter card still smells like Fantasy.

Elisabeth M.

Nice scent but quite different from the original Quatre EdP. There is a notable resemblance between Absolu de nuit and the original Burberry Brit, though Brit is more youthful and sweet while Absolu de nuit is more refined. Tonkabean and pear are prominent here.

ScarlettX

Spicy and interesting top notes, fruity-floral base notes.
Delicious vanilla, almond and tonka bean mix is dominant in top notes, which I like quite well.
After a few hours I sense pear, that is not that delicious.
So the base notes are a bit disappointing to me. Base reminds me of celebrity perfumes.
So the beginning is outstandingly good, but the base quite unoriginal.
Nice, but that's it.

Cassiano

The correct name is "Absolu", not "absolue".

SillySue

Does anyone know where this can be bought online? Also a review would be much appreciated :)
