Extravagance Russe by Diana Vreeland is a Amber fragrance for women. Extravagance Russe was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Clement Gavarry.

Diana Vreeland Extravagante Russe was created as an homage to Diana Vreeland’s love of Amberism. The fragrance incorporates warm and deep shades of amber in a modern interpretation combined with resins and balms providing an opulence of thick and hot shades, softened with bourbon vanilla and sensual musk. Available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I think this could easily be a unisex perfume, albeit more suited for women. It is sweet and I'm not a big fan of the initial notes, I sometimes get a bit dizzy because of them, but once it settles on the skin and the midnotes kick in it turns into this lovely perfume for anyone who loves musk and vanilla. It smells better on my skin than on my clothes, so I always spray it on skin.

I cannot see myself wearing this during the day and never during hot seasons. It's a scent that's reserved exclusively for night wear, black tie events. If you can go past those initial notes, it really is a lovely perfume with a very, very strong scent that lasts forever.

I stumbled upon this perfume a few years ago and saw it was out of stock everywhere, but my curiosity towards it was soooo big that I asked Santa for a Xmas miracle. Lo and behold, Santa found it (no idea where or how, I was convinced it's nowhere to be found) so this makes Extravagance Russe my first blind buy (or blind gift, lol). I wouldn't advise anyone to blind buy it, it has a sort of sweetness to it that I wouldn't think suits everyone.

All in all, a great perfume with a long-lasting scent and powerful notes. You'll definitely get noticed in the crowd wearing it, but you won't always get compliments as it's not everyone's cup of tea!

I thought I’d get a sample
I hoped it was interesting and unique
Sadly it’s not
Not saying it’s bad at all
Cause the warmth of Luxurious Amber is there
However for the high price
You can achieve a better Bang 💥 for your money with 2 other fragrances

Ambre Russe is much better because you actually get the sensations of champagne 🍾 and Vodka albeit briefly but it’s there.
and far reasonably priced !
Ambre Imperial is a sweeter and stronger scent and again better priced

Slightly cinnamony amber, with an EDC lasting power. Not offensive, but nothing remarcable abt it either. I know more interesting amber perfumes, and much stronger, for less than 10% of the price of this.
And for a similar price and name, we have PDE Ambre Russe, which is so much better than DV's that the name similarity seems like an offense.

I blind bought this at a holt renfrew trunk show where no testers were available. The notes were among my favorites and I thought I couldn't go wrong. To date I have worn it once. It is a lacklustre powdery vanillic amber scent somewhat reminescent of Coromandel with the latter being far superior. Everything about the fragrance is meh from scent to performance. It now sits at the back of the fridge, sadly neglected. Goes to show that you dont always get what you pay for.

i find this can be a unisex scent. I liked russe more but it was soft and i have better fragrances that do get attention. this collection is nice but a bit more on the feminine side. "Russe" being the most masculineof all and "brilliant" being more of the citris day wear that smells generic. better off getting tom ford neroli, jo malone or acqua di parma for that citris scent. This collection has nice bottles but for the juice aint worth the price. Jo malone collection blows this one away. especially Jo malones Oud bergamot, pomegranate noir, birch blackpepper, incense cedrat & wood sage sea salt.

A very modern, resinous amber. It's smooth and warm, a little spicy, and kind of reminds me of a slightly more balsamic Cuir Ottoman. After the initial opening, I get some lighter, sweet/spicy notes, a light leather. Very wearable and unisex compared to some of the others in the line. A beautiful tribute to Diana Vreeland in these exquisite jewel toned bottles. Sillage and longevity were moderate. A little pricey at $250/100ml, but the quality is there and is truly an extravagant experience.
