The One Desire by Dolce&Gabbana is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. The One Desire was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Givaudan. Top notes are Litchi, Mandarin Orange, Lily-of-the-Valley and Bergamot; middle note is Tuberose; base notes are Caramel, Vanila, Amber and Sandalwood.

In collaboration with Procter & Gamble, Dolce & Gabbana is launching a new fragrance named The One Desire, a successor of the popular fragrance The One, launched in 2006. In addition to this debut scent, The One women's fragrance collection includes L'Eau The One, Rose The One and The One Lace Edition. The new fragrance follows the trend of black bottles and its most distinctive feature is its carefully nuanced composition.

“This is for the woman who wants to feel unique, beautiful and sensual. She owns the room when she enters. She’s not just noticed, she attracts the attention of everybody and is sexy but not vulgar," said P&G Prestige vice president Luigi Feola.

The One Desire reveals in the top notes a citrusy blend of bergamot, mandarin, lychee and lily of the valley, emphasizing the glamour and glory of a woman. The heart blooms with seductive tuberose which is cleverly laid out on the base which is made of caramel, vanilla, sandalwood and musk. The scent is designed by Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, in cooperation with Givaudan's in-house perfumers.

The fragrance arrives in a black bottle with gold-colored details. The name (Desire) is also inscribed in gold and hand-written in the Sicilian Baroque style by Stefano Gabbana. Desire The One will be available as 30, 50 and 75 ml eau de parfum. The advertising campaign was photographed by Terry Richardson, and it shows the celebrity actress Scarlett Johansson. The One Desire fragrance will hit the shelves in January 2013.

I find this to be very similar to the original The One, but definitely a sexier version. I think it’s very feminine and floral, but deeper and warmer than The One, so it’s excellent for the colder months of fall and winter. It has a lovely warm and subtle sweetness to it. It’s romantic and seductive, but in an elegant way.

I typically get great longevity with my fragrances, and The One Desire is no exception… it lasts the entire day. The projection is nice too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me.

Bangabanga

Cognac and honeyed coffee to my nose.

Love it, actually, but am confounded but the scent pyramid displayed here.

Eriksen

This is just amazing. In my top 5. It is sweet gourmand . It speaks in a low voice, buy it talks all day 🥰 Soft projection, but people will notice it. I would say it could be office friendly, eventhough it projects guite good, the smell is so soft

I am so lucky that I just found this ONE in a tiny store in Hungary. Fantastic fragrance, that's all I need for autumne - warm shiny fruit, vanilla, tuberose and sandalwood. Stunning!
Nowadays this is my everyday scent when I just want to feel unic and feminine and comfortable. It is the warmest, the more juicy hugh I ever felt.
The bottle is gorgeous too.

GUADELUPA

It's very sweety and sexy fragrance. I think it's similar to the classic The One, but only partially. The base notes are similar. The Desire - it is litchy covered by caramel. Delicious! The scent is unforgettable! I like it or even love it. Longevity and sillage is excellent, twenty four hours even on the skin. Worthy fragrance in gorgeous bottle. How they could discontinue this masterpiece!

Bebeck

The initial spray hit me with a sharp citrus burst that I wasn't keen on. Like a strange balsamic citrus but soon fades. I detect powder, which isn't in the notes but to me is very present, maybe due to the sandalwood.
The dry down on me is much better than the initial spray would lead you to believe. I am a musky skin person. Musks suit me but also are absorbed if they aren't strong performers, which is what this perfume does for me, it absorbs. It's very faint and powdery. The sandalwood makes this amber gourmand fragrance more grown up than a lot of other gourmand perfumes. I like the maturity and it would be nice for evening wear.
Unfortunately this doesn't project for me. I struggle to smell it even when holding my wrist right to my nose. I think there is a caramel note there but it is hard to detect and blends into the other scents. All I get is a soft woody scent with traces of bergamot, vanilla and caramel that are hard to detect or distinguish. I bought a big bottle for a good price and I don't dislike this fragrance but it will definitely be one that I wear regularly purely because I don't want to use up my favourite perfumes.
In my opinion it is not worth a high price tag as it's performance is fleeting and whilst pleasant it's just ok.

Tinabill

TOD opens with fresh tanginess and bright citruses. In a few minutes you can sense the white florals blooming but it’s not the tuberose that hijacks the show; it’s a team player here. You can sense the smooth, warm caramel as well but it really intensifies in the dry down. However TOD whispers rather than shouts because on my skin the projection is close and longevity is on lower side of moderate at best. The pro is that the low sillage renders it an elegant gourmand, the con is it makes you “desire” to spray more. It’s not as dark as the bottle suggests nor owns the room as the brand description claims but it is a beautiful classy gourmand nonetheless. It makes you “desire” a better performance but nothing more 😂.

Aglopez09

I was excited to try this because of the caramel, but unfortunately i got close to nothing of caramel ! bummer. I will stick to the only one for my gourmand fix!

Rahel Nightingale

This is a beast! I adore it! The sillage & longevity are eternal! Believe me!

giri-boni

It definitely has that peachy, cosmetic features the original has, but is a bit sweeter due to base notes and tuberose, which I cannot easily detect. A skin scent, sultry and long lasting.

Bouquet Bleu

A ruined version of The One. There was only one The one, pun intended. Useless flanker. Sweet, bland, no core whatsoever. It is like body spray with candy scent.

AnaisLouLou

It was so hard getting a large bottle of this at a reasonable price. Really glad to have it in my The One collection. I have The One EDP, Rose, Essence and now, Desire.

Desire is a more sultry version, suitable for date nights. The higher notes of the EDP are tamed. The caramel notes come out in the mid and dry down, forming a skin scent.

Desire is obviously the precursor to The Only One. I positively dislike The Only One, I find it revolting and nauseating.

It's a pity Desire is discontinued. It's a great perfume.

oncebitten

I've had this one for a while, and I think I finally have to give up the ghost and admit this doesn't work for me at all. I agree with other disappointed reviewers who saw notes of lychee and caramel listed and aren't getting much of either. For me, it starts as a creamy, mildly sweet and slightly soapy floral, and within thirty minutes I smell like my grandmother's vanity. Total powder bomb, which more often than not results in a splitting headache. What a shame!

1universe

This has been discontinued but there might be still out there online, not sure. I had a bottle but not really for a wear but for just a cool display & sniffing off the bottle occasionally. But that caramel & vanilla sweetness with a bit of floral smell was definitely alluring and one day I just sprayed on my T just for a hell of it before bed. Oh wow, what a nice comforting sweet whiff I was getting all night under my blanket. So ever since it grew on me more and I’ve been always open to be wearing both genders fragrances if I like them. So now, I like it a lot!😍 It’s absolutely delicious and cozy and I see dressed up women in black for the night out wearing this for fun. 🤩 But I think some guys can definitely pull this off as well if you’re also open to a bit of floral scents like myself. It won’t make a man girly or anything in my opinion, unless that’s your DESIRE, I can see some darker or dark skin guys wearing (many Middle Eastern men wear floral fragrances, too) so whoever wants this sexy alluring scent on them, they are definitely going to rock this one for sure! On my skin, I get a lot of caramel, vanilla and some white flowers and some sandal wood 🪵 following them right after. But the opening definitely has more fruity opening that lasts only for short while and goes right into more caramel, vanilla, flowers and woody note. If you don’t like the opening like the person below me, 30 min wait is absolutely NOT long enough for the full development of the fragrance. You gotta give way more time until it settles down. Be patient and just keep yourself busy doing something while it’s transitioning. And wear it a little away from your nose. Behind you, on your arms and lower side of the body but make sure spray at least 10 to 12 sprays (or more!) as designers fragrances are normally weak in performances. It might be powerful in the beginning but it will deflate very quickly with most designers even with EDPs. This scent is desirable for me for sure especially for evenings and when I need a bit of warmth. 👍🏽👍🏽✨🤩☀️

Fraghag7

I need to give this one a real try, as in wear it out for the day. However, I have tested it on my skin twice like just around the house and both times I ended up washing my arm within 30 minutes.
This is a sharp lychee/burgamont on me. There is no caramel or vanilla and it smells like a confusing mix that ends up smelling like screechy shampoo.

Other people are right this does seem "light" and appropriate for warmer weather so I'll try again then. I really hope I don't have to sell this one 😭

giri-boni

Balanced sweet fragrance. Not overpowering. Don't feel the tuberose that much. Like it for summer.

fyetan

I wouldn't call it strong litchi or strong caramel.
It's kind of a mishmash of sweet jammy white florals... but in a kind of nauseous way.

Wwoman

It's interesting that the consensus on the strongest note is caramel, because I would call this a mildly sweet fragrance at most . Also, I don't get any of the slightly burnt sugar smell that caramel implies. After dry down, I am left with a semi sweet fruity floral that is unremarkable. Maybe on my skin it performs differently than everyone else (this wouldn't be the first time that has happened), but due to the extremely varied reviews, I would say this definitely not a safe blind buy.

$kank$mell$

This scent really isnt all that different from the original THE ONE for her. To me they just did a switcharoo to Caramel and Tuberose here instead of Lily and Vanilla from The One. While they are different they serve the same role/purpose so they seem the same.
I cant stand the very strong opening of the fruity and screechy lychee in this one, but it goes away rather quickly. I think it could have been left out TBH.
As the scent treads on the caramel comes out to play as well as the tuberose. It does deepen and become warmer, but its not that "dark and sexy" fragrance as the name and black bottle suggests.

This fragrance was not easy for me to acquire at a good price for the lrg size. I dont know if its discontinued, but sometimes I question if it was worth the process.
Im glad I have it, but it should be darker, deeper and sexier like it purported

rociito.moon

I made two strategic mistakes with this perfume: 1) buying it without trying it before and 2) trying it right after Shalimar, Black Orchid and Lady Vengeance, which I love...

Clearly, it didn't go well.

After spraying it, I can't smell the sweetness in this one; only tons of a very strong tuberrose with a soft, faint vanilla (I think) note in disguise. It's very similar to The One. The opening smells just like every cheap 90's perfume in my opinion.

Luckily, the drydown is really nice; the mix between all the notes is comfortable and wearable, even for a gourmand girl like me. I think I'll try it in the summer, since, in my opinion, is a really common, calm smell that should not bother anyone. The caramel note (which is why I bought this perfume), it's, in my skin, an "elusive one"; randomly hits me like a wrecking ball, for a couple minutes and then disappears... then reappears, and leaves again. I would love to feel it constantly.

The lesson is: if you want caramel, go with Mugler.

Tip: Last night I layered Pure XS EDT (which I hate -I've been looking for what to do with it-) over this one, after an hour aprox., to try to give more strength to the sweet notes. Total success; I dreamt I was covered in candy.
One wrong and a partial wrong can make a right.

animahad85

I love this one! i was using The one & Rose the one like 6 years ago. This is much more suitable for when when I hit my 30's as it smell more elegant and sophisticated. Its also the perfect one to wear during special occasion, and going on a date. Its sexy, mysterious and sweet at the same time.

Love the bright opening notes as its smell citrusy, hopes it last more than few seconds. Then it settle down to more deep and creamy middle notes, the combination between caramel & tuberose smell which I adore. Tuberose here is just the right amount and compliment the rest of the notes, adding the sexiness in it. Suprisingly I prefer this one to Do Son by dyptique because it has more layers, rather than a simple and straight forward tuberose fragrant. I use Do son for hot and bright day while The One Desire for night out and Dinner occasion.

D3G

I swear it smell exactly like the cheaper versions.
I get mostly just foody sweetness and I have a love and hate relationship with sugary stuff.
I use to love it so much and I was so happy when I find it around £20. Now unless my taste changes, this will be mixed to be balanced or given to someone who like extreme sweetness.
Will see durability...that's good
The noses behind this are surely more refined than mine and many people like sweetness, but couldn't you come up with sometime different? Acqua di Parma have done some beautiful work with Vanilla(I call it bitter vanilla)Or the old Body Shop one(I'll say more on the flowery side. I think I'm not gonna open my last bottle for now, just in case my current situation make me dislike it too)

Hollyyyy

This is one of those beautiful comforting scents.
Lovely vanilla caramel scents. It is a gloomy day today and once I sprayed this perfume, it instantly lifted my mood. If you like vanilla caramel scents, this is a must try.

Amascent

My second review... of all the perfumes I have, this is still my top favorite and the one I reach for the most.

dazydeadpetals

This starts off bright. Not bright like daytime, but bright like fireworks in the midnight sky. I get creamy caramel, fruity litchi, and floral reminiscent of rose. This is rich, fun, and interesting, a little provocative even.

My bottle is from a department store, circa 2014. So likely the original formulation.

camilla_nordin78

I absolutely love this perfume! It always make me feel sexy.
Unfortunately i lost my almost full bottle at a hotel last new year, and because it has discontinued its very hard to find.
I had this bottle for a while, because I only use this for special occasions ( always keep my perfumes cool an dark)
I bought a new one on e-bay. On an trustworthy shop in England with good rating.
The bottle arrived, the package looked good, the bottle looked just like my old bottle, but there is something about this that isn’t right?
Its not that intense and seductive as it use to be, and it doesn’t stay on my skin. The old bottle i had seam to stay on my skin even after a shower.
I could smell it lightly in my hair even after I washed it.

So? Is this a fake one? Did the perfume change?
There is still some bottles out there, is it worth to try another one?

Anyone knows?

Amascent

I adoreeeee this scent! I have been wearing it nearly every day for 2 years. I have gone through 4 2.5oz bottles in that time period. I wear it at night, all day and in bed. Its perfect for every occasion. The citrus quickly wears off on my skin and develops into an elegant blend of sweet spicy florals that is just like amazing grown up candy on my skin. I loveeeeee it! Can't say it enough❤ It's perfect for a young 30 manhattanite like me with just enough mystery and elegance to suit my taste and enhance my sense of style and personality. It's so sensual and just a stunning scent. Definitely not for the boring, more for the daring. I love it!

rissy200

I had the original One in the past but it seems like The One Desire is the more attractive sister. To me The One was like a girl who tries too hard but Desire is the natural beauty of the two. She’s less fruity, and the addition of the tuberose and caramel gives her more warmth. Desire also has good sillage and stronger lasting power than the original.

dglightblue

warm
powdery
cosy

i used to get an orange in the background or that might be essence... anyway this is nice but not what i remember. not similar to the one edp

lilysong24

Wow. None of the reviews are anywhere close to what I smell. I’ve got a dense bouquet of deep dark roses and rich booziness in mine. Beautiful, potent. Like a mysterious ruby lipped fortune teller dressed in layers of dark velvets. Intriguing, serious, slightly intimidating and yet welcoming.

Ceruleanpeaks

Powdered caramel vanilla with a white floral undertone. Can smell the sweet citrus at the beginning. I think its lovely, although not as much caramel as I was expecting. But I like things sweet after all.

PricklyAndHot

It opens most of all tuberose on me. Unfortunately, I'm not a tuberose lover.

brebtalka40

Literally, zero staying power! Even the "poor" longevity button (30 mins – 1 hour) would be an exaggeration.
Sillage is similarly overstated.
Nice bottle, though.

Emera1d

This is a very sweet, soft and gentle scent. I mostly smell caramel, and maybe the floral notes which stop it from being cloyingly sweet. I was never a fan of the original, but absolutely adore this one. I have worn it all year around and think it can be a great signature scent. It smells classy, elegant and expensive to me. It has depth to it that makes it alluring and sexy and I love wearing it for a date night. It lasts good 6 hours on my skin. The bottle looks super fancy and need to get a back up quickly, before this beauty disappears!

227jaman

Proctor and gamble involved with this company?? No thank you, they are responsible for some of the most horrific animal testing ever. Please don't support cruelty!

perfumeglam87

If your looking for something cheaper. Jessica Simpson fancy def resembles this. That powdery musk caramel is the top note so yummy and beautiful!

Soofiya

My previous review seemed a negative one but what I truely think about this perfume is that it smells heavenly gorgeous.so lovely that I can't believe someone dislikes it(unless you really hate sweet scents)
it's sweet but not a thick, cloying sweetness.caramel is there somewhere but it's not the most prominent note to my nose.and it's not one of those caramels smelling like burnt sugar or a dense, syrupy one.I prefer it to original The One because it's less fruity.it has a fruity undertone but it doesn't shout litchi or peach or whatever.tuberose and sandalwood act the same.they're there without being overpowering and making it an overly woody or a heavy white floral scent.everything melts in to create a creamy, sweet, soft and super-feminine scent.
What was disappointing for me in first test was that I expected a darker version of "The One".something with a heavy caramel and huge sillage.it's not what I expected but this doesn't make it any less beautiful.
I still prefer "The One L'eau" flanker because it has one of the most beautiful lily notes I have ever sniffed and probably that made my expectations high
Now I've decided to give away my full bottle of the one desire just because a friend offered me "trussardi inside"which I wanted for a long time and I'm dying to try it.in other case I would never swap this lovely perfume.yes,I don't find it ground breaking and I'm not happy with it's moderate projection, but I still believe that it smells sooo lovely
And it has a classy, heavy bottle.deciding to give this one away was a difficult decision

ewalkzz

It's just too sweet for me and I hate lychee. I received it as a gift.

It would be perfect for anyone who loves a gourmand and caramel. I agree it's like a sexy marshmallow - which isn't my vibe.

PM me if you want my bottle.

WildDove

I was expecting Desire to be a variation on The One, but it's also a gourmand variation on D&G pour Femme and D&G pour Femme Intense. Crazy but true. Clearly these fragrances are all sisters.

bibibling

You have to let this one develop for a minute or three so that all the notes settle down and that the caramel-litchi combo starts to pop, because for me, the first few minutes feels like the tuberose is trying to push everyone else off stage and be the star.

This feels very appropriate for winter and cold days. For something extra cozy, try layering with Hermes's Elixir or Eau des Merveilles. Floriental semi-gourmand caramel+litchi plus woodsy orange+amber notes combined feels like a bright beautiful Christmas morning with crisp fresh snow outside when you are nice and warm at home.(There is already amber and mandarin in here so all we're doing is amplifying those notes and adding more texture.)

Hildy

I had a sample of this & LOVED IT. I describe it as "sexy marshmallow".

petal411

Just got this one at TJ Maxx. Have never sampled it. The scent is spicy and at the same time creamy. Very nice. Happy to have purchased it.

SandyMelak

As caramel love I can honestly say
This is DIFFERENT than any other caramel scent I have ever owned ..
It mightnot be my most fav
Or not that Wow colmplement getter
But it is different n more unique than any other caramlized fragrance I own

Over all rate : 7.5/10
Uniquness 8/10
Long ladting 6.5/10
Silage : 6/10

UnearthlyApothecary

I really like this one, it’s like a more sophisticated and mature Viva La Juicy. I don’t often like caramel in a fragrance, it almost always smells weird and synthetic and nothing like real caramel to me. I like it here though. Desire is a beautiful fruity tuberose with a creamy sandal base. The silage is so so. I am crossing my fingers for better longevity then others have mentioned. Will update later
UPDATE: I have to agree that the silage/longevity is pretty terrible with this one. Another thing it has in common with Viva la Juicy. You will need to frequently touch up throughout the day while wearing this one.

NicoleET88

Every note in the pyramid shows up in this fragrance, and they all blend into a clearly identifiable version of the original The One. For that reason, I can never bring myself to let go of my bottle even though I rarely reach for it. Also, the bottle is freaking gorgeous. So chic, elegant, mysterious. Heavy in the hand. Sometimes I take it down off my perfume shelf and just...hold it.

That being said, something in this one clashes (slightly) with my skin chemistry, and I get an almost painful metallic sharpness while the top notes burn off. Some interaction of Bergamot and Lily-of-the-Valley, if I had to guess. It's not there with the initial blast but rather creeps in around 5 minutes later, and hangs on for a solid 15 minutes thereafter, during which time I really want to go wash it off. This happens. Every. Time.
Thankfully, once I'm 20-30 minutes in there's only tuberose, musky vanilla and burnt sugar, still with a little bit of "The One" DNA.

I agree with all other reviewers who pegged this as a good "night time" fragrance. It's great for an evening out, when you may want to smell a little bit bolder and richer than usual, but by the time you get back in the house it gets very close and sensual. It also makes a great day-time scent for when you want to add a dash of classy Va-Va-Voom.

cedar_lea

This is a beautiful perfumer's fantasy tuberose. It's amazing how something can smell so clearly tuberose without actually smelling like the flower.

Of course that is because the litchi, lily of the valley, and caramel have bonded with it to create a dressed up version. It's pleasant and interesting and not too perfumey. If I didn't know tuberose I might think it was a solofluer.

The opening citruses are interestingly done. Sparkling is a really good descriptor. I actually thought there were spices in the opening. Someone mentioned a plum note and I could smell that too.

The result is a complex and clean smelling tuberose. This could be a good tuberose for those who find it too heady.

Soofiya

I love, love, love D&G the one l'eau so I couldn't resist it's darker sister.I expected to like this one more,as I usually prefer everything to be louder, sweeter, heavier but not this time.I still like l'eau version more, perhaps because of it's gorgeous dominant lily but not that I dislike desire version.it's good.a nice blend of sweet notes, florals and fruits.it's feminine, likable, even kind of sensual but I wouldn't buy it if I tried it first,or I'd exchange it with another bottle of D&G the one l'eau
The one desire is sweet but I can't pickup caramel,it has a White floral heart but I can't detect tuberose specifically and I think this, non descript notes is what puts me off
I'm going to give it more chance to see whether it grows on me or not
By the way longevity and silage are moderate at their bests

Ashleighgreen

I could bathe in this stuff. Its a creamy Jasmin dream. I love to wear this to bed. Its increadibly comforting.

dglightblue

I get a bit of a citrusy floral opening, then it fades, later I get caramel, almost like what I expected juicy couture gold to be.
Lasts ages but very quietly. Fine if you don't have other similar scents

rihabi

I got a tiny sample of this one and I'm like super disappointed. What caramel, what vanilla...it's straight up white floral... Nothing but lily of the valley and tuberose...Am I the only one like this? I'm not buying it full size.

Algernon

My husband, bless him, bought me this for Xmas. Love the scent, love it right out of the bottle, love it for the first 5 minutes and then....pffft! it disappears! I have never experienced a scent that goes AWOL on my skin so quickly. Happily, others on this review don't seem to have this regrettable experience but thought I would share mine. No problems with the aroma, it's delightful. Just don't get to enjoy it for very long....sigh.

paneradfisk

This is indeed sweet and vanillic, but also VERY powdery and thick, sultry. More mature than expected.

mrspowell

I just love this perfume! when i fist saw this Black bottle with this simple yet elegant and rich black stopper on it (which reminded me of an Onyx stone) it sort of whispered to me "Im mysterious" But when I sprayed some on I thought it was just like anything else. However, I would sniff my wrist every now and then and with every sniff let me tell you that there was a "moan". The notes? I don't have a damn clue, it just smells really good and makes me feel sexier.

bettybee983

The first blast of sweet caramel calms down into what smells like freshly cut roses--seriously, it seems I'm smelling the real thing! Then after about 15 minutes, some caramel and vanilla start to peek out from behind the floral. It's rich and beautiful, like a long, luxurious winter coat.

Alvie Kuptz

i dont know what to say yet.. i got this 3 weeks ago and sprayed it once. for me it smells like vanilla noir. or dark vanilla. it is good for night time and cold weather.

socorrosouza

That dreaded tuberose note on me makes me feel only tuberose in this , since my skin amps tuberose to the max.Wish I could smell the vanilla and caramel.Lasts for a long time, 7 hours plus with heavy sillage for about 2h 30.

AliPratt25

The One Desire smells like a very clean gourmand perfume. The vanilla and caramel are definitely there but the citrus, lychee and sandalwood clean it up making it a daytime office appropriate scent. Longevity could be better lasting about 4 hours.

daisyvision

There's a hint of sweetness in the opening, but it settles into bitter citrus before fading away shortly after. Very, very little sillage/longevity on me - I couldn't smell it at all unless my nose was directly on my skin. I'm a big fan of tuberose, so I was hoping for more from this one, but I could barely detect it. The quality of this one reminded me a lot of Hypnotic Poison Eau Secrete by Dior, which was all citrus before dissipating almost immediately.

blake.lee

Yikes, this smells like cat pee on me the first 10 minutes. Thankfully, it dries down to a nice caramel fragrance, but not a sticky, creamy, soft, butter caramel. It's more a light, hard caramel flavored candy.

Kon-nos91

I did a review for D&G The One months ago. It's full of 'ballons' and I am so happy that people agreed with me. To bring a quick review in a few words: "D&G The one is not actually the one, but the summer one."

It smells exactly how Greek summer nights at islands do. A pure rich cream with floral undertone applied in a sun-tanned skin. Very good sillage but amazing lasting power. White clothes, gold accesories, desire for impression. Why I am saying all this? No, I don't want to confuse you or mix the original with Desire edition.

D&G The One-Desire smells identically to the classic, they share the same feelings/base BUT, Desire is softer, less heavy, a bit more simple, a touch of caramelly vanilla. It's ideal for the younger fans of the original. Less dressy more casual. If you know already original and you want a softer and more 'sweet' edition, this could be a blind buy that will not dissapoint you. All in all, I like it but if I had to do a huge 'boom' in around noses, I would choose the original.

The One, as much as I loved it sniffing the bottle, once on my skin it screamed NO... I wonder if I can pull this on off? I do have and LOVE Rose The One...

This is a very elegant perfume - from the black bottle with its strong lines and gilded lid to the beautifully formulated scent. This is a "little black dress" perfume - classy and sophisticated, though not necessarily the biggest head-turner at the party. I love that this a "fruity floral" with enough of a dark base to not smell too sweet. I smell lots of caramel, with good amounts of mandarin, lychee and lily-of-the-valley.

pretty mini collector

All of the notes combine on me to give me a fuzzy peach and velvety plush red rose scent. The caramel and sandalwood combine to give this a rich, deep ambery base. This is both sweeter and denser than the original. The original was meant for daytime; this one gives me images of opium dens. It hints at something deeper, something slightly offbeat and a little dangerous. It is darkly tempting, and I've fallen for it.

kellymi

Like others have said, Desire is not exotic or daring, but for me it is lovely. Smooth powdery amber with hints of vanilla-y caramel. A rosy glow and a gentle kick of sour midway through, settling smoothly and sweetly once again.

It vaguely reminds me of what BonBon would be without the peaches and spice.

I'm a fan, regardless if it is considered run-of-the-mill.

Peachysugarbuns

The One Desire is an easy-to-wear sweet/fruity/floral perfume. It is nothing groundbreaking, but I am really drawn to the potent lychee note. Desire is lychee + vanilla on me, smelling akin to the original The One in the drydown.

Florals are mild in The One Desire, with the tuberose and jasmine acting as a tether which helps the juicy fruit notes (lychee and tangerine) and the sweeter notes of vanilla and caramel meld together. I have one word for those who find the tuberose in this composition to be "too much": FRACAS. Desire is hardly floral to my nose, but instead features many facets of sweet. This fragrance is able to hold its own on a night out, but is "easy" enough for before-bed use.

The One Desire would never be considered a defining or signature fragrance for me, but I like that lychee note (and the fragrance lasts for ages on the skin, truly) so I added Desire to my collection. :)

Update: I've been wearing this fragrance a lot lately and I always receive compliments. That's always a plus!

sidlesup

I received this along with The One in a sample lot and it didn't stand out.
Tried it again a few months later (this time in cold weather) and it's becoming my new signature.

It reminds me a bit of Black Opium but without the heavy gourmand feel. Just enough caramel to be cozy and sexy, just enough floral to avoid being too sweet or "young."

HeidiLynn

The bottle is gorgeous: black and gold, elegant, sultry, imposing. It's a statement bottle, and one would think it held a statement fragrance. Sadly, this is a fragrance that doesn't quite fit the bottle.

I've smelled the original and this is quite similar--a light floral vanilla, not foody but not as rich as some vanilla scents either. There is a sweetness, but I didn't find the caramel notes excessive. A lightly tropical tartness must be the lychee. My husband said he smelled "chocolate and raspberries"--interesting impression. It dries down to a department-store-base of light, chemically floral vanilla. It is a pretty fragrance, but with low sillage (to my nose) and with longevity of maybe 6-8 hours, but progressively going from faint to fainter. Not a ton of character, it doesn't develop much over time. Overall, I was underwhelmed and a bit disapointed. Into the swap bin it goes....

KarlekLila

Since I have a full 2.5 oz bottle of this beauty coming to me from a swap I tested it today at Sephora. At first the caramel is most prominent. It's luscious and rich, with the sweet-sour lychee peeking thru the caramel veil, It's as if the fruit had been dipped in the sauce. The gourmand nuances end there, however. As the caramel slowly mellows down out pops spicy, yet creamy tuberose that lasts for an hour or two on me. The dry down softens even more to a soft, powdery combo of tuberose and amber. Lovely!

Update: The luscious caramel makes a return appearance in the background of the drydown (sans the lychee note). Sillage is medium but noticeable. I was complimented several times. Longevity? About 12 hours on my skin

When you smell this perfume in real life, the fruit is much more prominent in the mix than you would think from reading about it. Although the top notes include mandarin and lychee, it isn't the sweet citrus from the mandarin that comes through, it's the lychee. If you like fruity scents you'll probably like this. It's quite pleasant. If you were hoping for the floral or caramel notes to dominate you might be disappointed.

rieliey

buy a small bottle during lunch break. comes back to office and a guy complimented the scent as "lovely". Will definitely go back for bigger bottle :)

Hipchick40

I think is the kind of perfume that can one of two ways: caramel and vanilla OR tuberose and sort of powdery. It seems it mostly drifts towards the caramelly sweet direction but on me, it went tuberosey and almost powdery. I don't dislike it, it is still nice, but I'm jealous of those who are getting something leaning towards gourmand which is what I bought it for! I love the original and L'eau as well. Rose The One is also great for spring time (I have fellow Fragranticans to thank for the wonderful suggestions and info!). I really hoped this would be my winter go to but...so far, not happening.
At the same time, it's also one of those things where if I stop trying to smell it for the notes I want to be there and just enjoy it for what I do smell, it's nice! Know what I mean? Bottom line is that I will keep trying, wait for even cooler weather and enjoy it for what I do smell and stop trying to make it something it's not. Then, if I find I don't reach for it often enough, to my swap list it will go. But it's well made enough that I do feel it's worth hanging on to for a bit longer.

ellenresia

I catagorize this as a sexy perfume. A dominating of caramel and honey, makes this smell sexy naturally. The scent of vanilla, sandalwood and chocolate are on my base note, on my nose. Soft and tender smell, feels elegant and classy when I wear this. This is good for spring time.

mirkamm

The One Desire reminds me of Christmas time. On my skin there's some soft spiciness mixed with caramel and vanilla. I'll definitely take this up again when the dark winter comes back. Sillage is good and longevity is about 7 hours.

the_new_esta

The opening is so nice. Unfortunately, top notes quickly fade away. Then you're left with the horrid scent of the original. Putrid, synthetic and clammy.

melange

Sweet, not unlikeable, but very, very synthetic.

charmedbella

I purchased this at the Atlanta Duty Free. I was very interested in this fragrance because of the caramel note -- I'm on a total gourmand obsession right now!

The opening reminds me a little of Coco Noir -- that sparkling citrus, almost-masculine-clean opening that I love. It's the bergamot and manadarin.

Soon after the initial blast, the juicy lychee and sweet caramel come out to play. They are the dominant notes, followed by white flowers, vanilla, and a hint of amber.

This really doesn't strike me as total gourmand. Not like LVEB, La Nuit Tresor, or Bonbon. The lychee and tuberose are powerful enough to keep the caramel from taking it into complete gourmand territory. I, personally, was hoping for something more gourmand.

I find Desire to be safe for work. It's not overpowering, or too sweet, or too sexy. But it can easily be worn from day to night. Longevity is probably no more than 4-5 hours, so be prepared to reapply. Sillage is soft to moderate.

For me, this I is just a "like". I'm unsure if I'd ever buy another bottle. It doesn't have a "WOW" factor for me. But it is pretty, versatile, and I will surely wear it.

missjackie

Since I like the original 'the one' a lot I wanted to smell this one. I like this one too, but the original is much much better. It actually reminded me of ck one shock for her, which is ok, but not what I expect from a perfume as expensive as this one. So if you like this one: try one shock for her first (because it is very cheap!). They are very much alike in my opinion.

Annica

There are several similarities to the original imo. The difference is that the original is slighthy sour. They added more sweet notes to Desire. I prefer the latter. It is creamier and softer but both are well done.

Update: 100% loveliness in a bottle. Love it!

Kudzai

i loved the bottle the black and gold is lovely; it has a lot of vanilla smelly yummy but not yummy enough i personally prefer poison to this one if at all they can be compared .its an ok scent

alice.livings

I was given a bottle of this by a friend who complained that she felt it made her "smell like an old lady". My opinion was more favourable. It opened with a fresh sparkling pineapple and blood orange before softening to a sweet, smooth redcurrant and lime. Thereafter, it slowly morphed into a lovely, fresh tuberose. Interestingly, on the blotter the tuberose came across as quite synthetic, with little hints of redcurrant peeking through, before evolving into honest-to-goodness gin and tonic with a twist of lime, and an undercurrent of soap, then making way to a sweeter note that, to me, smells more of Turkish Delight than caramel.

arenee92

Alexandrarae - mine says the same thing on the box, darling, and it smells just as good and the same as the tester in the department store.

Alexandrarae

I tried this yesterday at 11.45am, bought it at 12noon. I could still smell it on my wrist at 10pm. On the outside of the box it says "Desire" with "The One" written underneath in gold letters. On the black box, if you look very carefully, it is imprinted with the words 80% VOL. under that P&G PRESTIGE BEAUTE and under that EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE and underneath that NATURAL SPRAY VAPORISATEUR and under that 75ml 2.5 FL OZ. On the back it says LONDONECIA 4DD,UK and under that MADE IN UK. yOU HAVE TO LOOK VERY VERY HARD TO READ EAU PARFUM INTENSE as it is not in gold letters as it has been deeply imprinted into the black box. I can't find anywhere on the notes from D&G site any mention of there being a "Intense" version of Desire!!! Can someone enlighten me please. Just hope it is the same quality as the tester bottle I tried?? I'm edgy about opening the box now in case what is inside is not the same.
I did like the perfume but the sales person never mentioned that it was and Intense version??
Very confused Alexandrarae

arenee92

It took me a while to warm up to this, though I always liked it. It's so pretty, it's hard not to! Think boozy, rich vanilla, creamy caramel. Desire is sexy, comforting, sweet, but not cloying, or heavy. It's not typical of sweet fragrances, there is a depth beyond that delicious caramel. I often am complimented on this. A perfect anytime frag. Only dislike is that it seems to dissipate quickly on skin....it lasts on clothing, though. One of my most worn, definitely. My boyfriend LOVES this!

Vassallos girl

I just received a sample bottle of this today. After reading all the great reviews and owning d&g pour femme and pour femme intense I thought I would love this. Well to my great disappointment, this isn't "the one" for me. All I can smell on my skin is tuberose. Very strong and skanky to me. I wanted to like it so I gave it a couple hours and tried again. No. I just can't like this at all. I had some others smell my wrist to see if it was just my nose but it seems no one really liked it at all. But hey there's a perfume for everyone. I love gourmands and vanilla and caramel but couldn't detect anything but tuberose and wild animal smell. Well I have plenty of perfumes and more to test out so am ok with this not being for me.

Ulusia

When I sniffed it first I thought an ok frag, likeable. Later on I thought - I know this, I have already had something like this and I found out - this is in the heart (the beginning is different)where The one Desire is very similar to Alchimie Rochas. If you compare ingredients they have some incommon.

Juliana6

A sophisticated cold autumn/ winter fairy tale. First I feel a hot, sweet, delicious, creamy, rich, dark vanilla and caramel (yes, really!) wave. Freshly baked apple, almond (not listed but somehow I smell them too), caramel cupcakes just out of the oven put next to an opened window. Outside there's a flower garden and that delicious scent melts with some refreshing, quite realistic flower notes (I feel the tuberose, but no lily-of-the- valley for me here, so sad about it...).
The base becomes even more gourmand (more adult, natural vanilla, less caramel), sensual and cozy in the same time. Strange, but I get something dazzling, head turning, maybe slightly alcoholic too.
The younger sister of this could be "Fancy" by Jessica Simpson. They have something in common. But "Desire" is certainly more mysterious, more complex, more adult, more sophisticated. Feminine, elegant, modern!

ScarlettX

Caramel? Really?
I can't smell it.
The whole thing is much much better than the original The One, but not as good as the Limited edition in the red bottle.
There is fruity sweetness, but something smells like those fruits were rotting.
There's a really annoying undertone to it.
I mostly smell tuberose, amber and some fruity notes.
Sounds like it could be really good, but unfortunately not for me.

stephb

I am wearing a sample of this tonight. This is what I wanted Kenzo Amour to be. I sprayed one spray on my wrists and walked through a mist. It's sweet but not so sweet that I am put off by it. I do smell the tuberose but in a good, creamy way as in Michael Kors. I notice the orange more at first but not so much upon dry down. The musk, vanilla, tuberose, amber and caramel come out then. I'm guessing the litchi is the unfamiliar scent I can't put my finger on. The combination is sexy, nice and sultry yet soft and not overpowering. Often, i find musky vanilla scents can end up powdery. I love that this didn't turn powdery on me at all. After about 3-4 hours, it did get a lot softer. I wonder if I sprayed a few more sprays if it would last longer. I'm adding it to my wish list!

Cyntillate

Firstly, I do like this fragrance quite a lot and wear it often... It's lovely and just a bit seductive. My only "complaint" is that I have to put it in the catagory which I call 'department store frags'. Meaning that it doesn't have that certain something. It isn't quite unique. But it is very accessable! You can pretty much buy it anywhere and like I said it is lovely. There is another perfume I like a lot and wear a lot that is so similar it even has a similar bottle and that is Gucci Gold. Not similar in scent but in all the other things I said about Desire. I don't mean to sound like a perfume snob - I am not wealthy enough! Honestly if I could spend without worry, I would indeed buy mostly niche perfumes as I do love mystery and exotic, intriguing 'not for everyone' kind of perfumes. But for the average gal we need to find one of the readily available and sometimes discounted 'department store' scent. And I'm grateful for one as delightful as this.

Jasmindee

So, I bought this perfume for around £35.00 for a 50ml after reading the reviews here for my dear Mother on Mother's day.

It just came today and, oh my god. I am in love. (I obviously had to test it out, y'know, to see if she'd like it... or something like that!!)

The presentation is absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't expect anything less from D&G but, still. It's utterly beautiful. Sleek, simple black box with gold letters. It would make a ravishing gift. The bottle is a heavy black glass with the same gold lettering and a black and gold lid. It looks chic yet vintage at the same time, honestly it's just so beautiful to look at.

I sprayed a little bit on my wrist and the opening is a soft, girlie caramel that settles into a bright, wrist-smelling scent. I can't describe it. It's unlike anything I’ve ever smelt before. It must be the litchee, it's sort of light and sweet, almost tropical. Then it turns into this sensual vanilla. Even as I type, I can't stop sniffing my wrists!

This is a sexy bombshell of a woman, turning heads in a black dress with lacy black underwear undearneath. She has big, innocent eyes, firey red hair and painted red lips and nails. Unique and girlie but also naughty AND nice!

I love it and secretly might have to borrow it when my mother isn't looking! ;)

Firegoddesslily

Absolutely divine, it's the kind of perfume you just cannot stop sniffing. I can definitely smell caramel which I love and a strong fruity note which must be litchi, anyway it is completely beautiful. I do wish it lasted a little longer though, after a few hours it seems to lose all projection and I need to re-apply. But that's okay, I got a big bottle so I can do that and it's worth it for the amazing scent.

SweetTxGal

Since I love D & G The One so much, I thought I would try Desire. It's every bit as wonderful as the original. Caramel, tuberose, vanilla, and jasmine are a heavenly combination. Desire is a soft, creamy delight. Not as sweet as Prada Candy, nor is it a sillage-bomb. Stays close to the body and makes my husband crazy (in a good way)!

mschnabel666

I'm a huge gourmand freak, and I recently purchased a lot of samples of The One Desire. Caramel is my fave note in perfumes. All I get is the floral in this? white floral/tuberose? It did smell sweeter on my clothing but nothing like the reviews. My sample boxes say INTENSE PARFUM.... did I not get "The One Desire"? I love Pour Femme 2012, but think the Intense version of Pour Femme too floral as well (lacks the raspberry and potent marshmallow)... Is there a Desire Intense? I'm not impressed... but maybe it's because Michigan is super duper cold and my house is very dry?

APULIAN

as a man, i think this fragrance is very classy and sophisticated, seductive but not tawdry. maybe not for teen agers, better for 25 and older. very versatile, good for all seasons, better for night.

Aloha
I have a question, i sprayed this one at the store. I was in love, couldnt stop smelling my wrist. Months later it was at Nordstrom rack, i tried again, and omg. Yum. All night yum! So i decide to go back and buy it. It was gone in the medium size and only had the gift set, 2.5oz plus the other shower junk. I buy and hmm, not in love. Its nice but kind of cloying. A bit too sickly sweet. This one is "edp intense". Does anyone know if there are different notes in the "intense"? Im not even sure if what i tested at the store was different or not now, im thinking of returning. :(

PLUMPIE

To me this has the deep mysterious almost leathery background of Armani code yet it is a completely different set of notes - probably something similar in the orange and bergamot perhaps but these are the only notes vaguely similar. This scent is the only fragrance containing caramel or litchi that I have ever liked - usually both notes alone are overly sickeningly sweet and gourmandish for me (especially when combined with vanilla and amber) but somehow the litchi is powdery sweet and the caramel is a dark well blended sweetness and they round the fragrance out. The tuberose gives this a slightly older feel, not so popular these days but gives it a floral kick and something a bit different to the run of the mill scents of today. At first spray I feel this is too sweet, too fruity and way too juicy for my taste but it soon smoothes out to a musky vanilla scent. It's in no way amazing or totally different to what's out there, but it's a better version of what has become a swathe of super sugary fruity florals which are dominating most perfume houses today. Easy to wear but easily replacable. I am not sure I will be keeping this just yet but for now it can stay.

Nyssa Ainley

This is most definitely desirable, it is on the list of wants. It was a while ago since I had it spritzed on my wrist so I cannot remember the notes but I do remember that the moment I raised my wrists to my nose I was blown away by its heady recipe and the fact that it lasted the rest of the day on my wrist ...

... well, now I want it so badly but I have my lovely Tresor to replace, so I have to write a PFL. Priority Fragrance List - and tick them off as I go.

Edit: I own this too! Proper review will feature on you tube and blog.

Edit 2: This fragrance survived on my skin for well over 12 hours - with just one extra spritz throughout the day which, quite frankly, was just a self indulgence on my part. I can still smell it on my top! So, worth the buy!

patxaran

As a tuberose lover who is probably a bit anosmic to caramel (see my review of Prada Candy for that) I have to say all i can smell is sweet fruity something - I guess it must be the litchi which seems to be a nono for me. I would say this is a fruity floral in my book with a gourmand note (if you can smell the caramel). It smells more generic to me than I would have imagined, but then again I am not a big fan of fruity scents. Not for me but a fun fragrance for a younger outgoing woman I think. Mainstream but not as common as Juicy etc. so you could try this if you want something a bit more distinctive and less overused (?).

Dara813

I'm not usually a big fan of tuberose, but apparently when it's paired with caramel and litchi, it smells divine! This is exactly what I smell in this perfume by the way, at first blast it smells like sweet, juicy litchi with a little caramel mixed in. Then, I really start to smell the caramel and then the tuberose starts to appear. I can smell them all at some point but the first 20 minutes or so are just litchi and caramel to my nose. I was so happy that I could smell the sandalwood in the drydown because it's one of my favorite notes.
The longevity on this scent is not all that great - maybe 4-5 hours. I got it at a really good price so I'm not going to complain too much, but I do like it a lot so of course I wish it would last longer. The sillage is also quite modest; tuberose is usually loud on my skin, but it stays pretty tame in this scent.
There are certain aspects of this one that remind me a little of the original; there's one point in the scent where they bare some similarities and I think that maybe it could be the way the litchi and vanilla are blended. I thought this was going to be one of those - I like it better in cold weather scents - but I think this is going to be very nice for the spring; it's lighter and juicier than I expected.
I have to agree with so many others, the bottle is lovely and luckily, I really enjoy the juice inside!

1scentaddict

From the reviews I expected to love this, but I tried it and don't pick out anything apart from overwhelming tuberose! It is completely a floral musk for me, nothing gourmand or caramel comes out at all. Much prefer The One.

Lipglossjunkee

Mmmmm this one smells delicious, and is my favorite of 'The One' series, with the exception of 'The One' for men.

The first blast is a mix of the sweetness of the caramel with the tartness of the litchi and it is quite strong right from the get-go. As it wears on, the litchi fades but the caramel remains amped up, mixing with the tuberose, vanilla, and amber for a truly unique blend (I'll admit--I bought it because who doesn't love tuberose and caramel?? What a perfect pairing!!)

The drydown gets less sweet and more woody as the sandalwood comes into play....the final drydown is reminiscent of really warm dryer sheets, and I'm ok with that. One spray on each wrist gets me about 4-5 hours of longevity. My skin eats scents, so I don't have a lot of sillage with this one, it's pretty close to the skin after the first hour.

I do like this one a lot, I got a great deal at TJ Maxx ($59 for a giant bottle, plus lotion and shower gel) and it is a bargain at that price. I love the bottle design as well, very classy.

Addict2Perfume

Dolce&Gabbana The One Desire opens with a very sweet litchi note that transitions into a sugary caramel and soft vanilla scent. It can definitely qualify as gourmand fragrance because the caramel note is very prominent. The original The One has a classy/sophisticated vibe to it and reminds me of Chanel Allure for women. The One Desire is sexy and sweet which makes it great for evening wear. I am going to love wearing this fragrance during the winter and it seems to be drawing a lot of compliments from men!

the_new_esta

Basically, this is 'the one' with a different opening. Same as rose the one - once the nice top notes wear off it's the same perfume -_-

Tovah

Like Deppaholic, I just got an adorable little bottle of this with my Sephora order. Unlike Deppaholic, (ironically), I was hoping for some skank...On me this smells like caramel apples! I expected this to be completely different...I mean, I know it's not a product from Amouage or Swiss Arabian, but based on things I've read about Desire I thought this would be warmer and much spicier...even skanky...I like this fragrance very much. It's pleasant; a warm skin scent, nice for warm Autumn days. I'm not crazy about lychee, and this is heavy with it. It sure isn't tuberose as I know tuberose. I have a little cream of Bath & Body Works "Mad About You" that I used on my hands this evening, after wearing Desire all day. (It's so, so gone). Honestly, on my skin, Mad About You blows Desire out of the water for its aromatic complexity, sillage, and lasting power. Somehow that's creepy.

Deppaholic

I actually had my choice of small bottles with my Sephora points, and read the reviews here before I chose this one. On me, I can only say, because I really do not like to diss fragrances, that this is straight up skank. I'm going to have to say it's the tuberose. Anything with that note, just hits my skin and gives off this weird smell. I remember back in the day, when I had a ton of energy to clean, and I would mix a few cleaning agents together and create a caustic agent! :O Whoa, it would burn my eyes and nose for a few days. Well, this isn't that bad, but I would never (you know what they say about never) buy a full bottle of this. I actually think I shall even return my order of D&G Pour Femme, because I tried that the other night, and already had my order placed. However, I do have this in a small bottle I got with points, if anyone is wanting to swap. I will never wear this, ever. For all who can, congratulations! Oh it's probably a good thing I don't like it. I have enough fragrances already! Is there such a thing? Give it a try though, it just might work for you and be your new fragrance!

synergypsy

Opens with a fruitopia blast, and then I get rich chocolate. Fun! A bit later, I get pineapple and brown sugar. Guess that's "caramel" for me. And lots of white flowers. Just a lovely, lovely fragrance. Plum, and jasmine, for me, is at the heart rather than tuberose. But, after about 6 hours, though, I swear I get an onion-y smell. Like I've cut up an onion and the odor is still on my hands after washing. THIS must be the musk and labdanum that Melzy noticed along with the plum and jasmine middle notes, on which observations I agree. Could there be vetiver in there, too?

Overall, a delicious, soul-nourishing fragrance. Only drawback is that the lack of projection (sad) disallows anyone else the joyful experience. But then again, I have the EDP from Sephora points-- which is the tip bottle to wrist or finger to apply. Possibly the spray would envelope me better.

Lilithorvat

This is sexy, sophisticated, and YUMMY.
I love the tuberose/caramel combination, it's so beautiful and delicious all at once. It's the same combo I get from my other favorite the original Juicy Couture.

This one is so sultry, night time, sweet and savory! I can't get enough of this when I sniff it. It's so perfect if you like gourmand and white floral fragrances. This one hosts both types beautifully, and ladies you will get attention from men with this one, men love the yummy and feminine scents, but this is also chic, and straight to the point! This is perfect for nights out on the town with my husband at a lovely evening get together, and then fruity cocktails at a high class bar. Fun, and glamorous.

Treacherous

This is a gorgeous fragrance! So addictive. It starts off with a burst of sweet floral fruitiness, then it calms down into a scent of yummy goodness. The caramel and lychee combination are just divine. It is a deeper scent however the longevity is not that great, only last around 3 hours. A bit pricey for a scent that doesn't last that long, also don't like the fact that you can't see how much fragrance is left in the bottle. Good to wear in the winter, it's nice and cosy but sexy at the same time. My man loves the smell of this on me too, he always has sniff me and say something when I wear it. Definitely in my top 5 for sure.

kasslee

I wasn't really a fan of The One, but the notes in this caught my eye so I had to try it.
The One Desire starts out with a burst of sweet, juicy lychee and then starts to mellow into a warm caramel scent.
In my opinion it's not too heavy to be worn in spring/summer or during the day.
I find its pleasant and inoffensive and could be worn anytime. I really like this one :)

linzilou92

This happens to be one of the most unusual scents I own. It's quite hard to explain, it's a gorgeous warm deep scent that I would personally only wear in the winter. I think the mixture of the strong caramel and litchi note gives it this sweet sharpness that makes it so unique to most fragrances out there. It's long lasting and the dry down is beautiful. I can't wait for the cooler months to get here so I can start wearing it some more. The bottle is stunning! It looks amazing on a dressing table, sitting out, ready to be used.

caylarhene

I tested this the other day and right when I smelled it I knew it was going into my top five. Its such a sexy sophisticated mature sweet smell. I love and fell in love with it. I can image wearing this all year and it not giving me a headache. !!

sherapop

Vanilla, caramel, abstract flowers ... why this could be a celebrity scent. Oh, I see from the marketing campaign that it is: the scent of Scarlett Johansson!

I am chuckling at all of the reviewers who maintain that tuberose ruins this fragrance. Ha! Would that it were! To my nose, this is like a cheap version of Juicy Couture meets Madonna Truth or Dare. Except that this one has much less tuberose than either!

According to the P&G prestige vice president cited above:

“This is for the woman who wants to feel unique, beautiful and sensual. She owns the room when she enters. She’s not just noticed, she attracts the attention of everybody and is sexy but not vulgar,"

I see the rift growing vaster and vaster between people who developed a love of perfume pre-Y2K and those who came later. One reviewer even claims to hate Fracas but love Desire The One! Yes, my fragrant friends, it's a brave new abstract world. Looks like the marketers are bound to win the propaganda war, as this chemical soup tsunami shows no signs of abating during my lifetime.

cheriebeary73

Well wanted to love this, got a sample from Sephora and decided to try it today. First put on my arm and was loving the scent. When it came time to shower and get ready for the day, I chose this sample to try now this time several sprays-2 on neck, 1 chest, 1 on each inner arm/elbow etc. so 5 total. Smelled for about an hour or two, then like many can barely smell it! I press my nose to my arm and barely smell it. I had it on my want list, but nope had to remove it. Way to expensive to not last! I actually just returned Prada Candy today to Ulta for the same reason, Smells yummy for little bit then poof gone! I exchanged the PC for my Lancôme La Vie Est Belle. To me LVEB and Chanel Coco M are the 2 best fumes that last on me!

Update: I gave this one another try and I just love the scent! It's almost worth buying and trying to layer it somehow to get the scent to last longer. I changed my mind, and decided to put back on my want list since I love the scent so much!

Whiteclimax

This is a fresh fragrance! I expected to be sweeter and more gourmet. Is a little bit soapy.
I don't know...I feel like something is missing...

polkadot27

I have now tried all three, this one, rose the one & the one. And i'm disappointed to say none of them did anything for me and i was actually going to buy all 3 blindly at one point! I'm so glad i decided against it and tried them instead. Well to be fair i really liked this one... on paper that is. On one's skin it is completely different. On paper i got a beautiful creamy vanilla coated tuber rose and litchi scent on a gentle bed of sandalwood topped with caramel. On skin it is awful it smells like sticky toffee, no class, no complexity just a sticky toffee smell and the silage is very poor, i have to put my nose onto my skin in order to smell this one it is so soft and light. Lasts about 2 hours, but honestly couldn't wait to get it off. It's bland on me, i felt bored. I really expected a range of classy, enchanting, amazingly unique, vintage scents in the making from these 3. However all 3 seem average and they have already been done 100x before, they just bore me. From the brand name i suppose i expected them to be of the best quality... Just goes to show the reputation and expense of the brand aren't everything when it comes to fragrances. I especially wanted to like this one because i Love black perfume bottles, but i couldn't possibly pay that much for the bottle knowing the scent isn't half as good.

xclairabellax

Im not a huge fan of "The One" I find it a bit cloying and thick if that makes sense? My sister ADORES it and cant get enough though and it really does suit her so well.

I gave the "L`eau" version a go and that`s better but this "DESIRE" is much more me.

I love Mandarin and this shines through in the first spritz which is juicy, fresh and just sweet enough. The litchi gives a nice fruity fizz to it which is a good combination.

Then comes a hint of tuberose, again Im not a big fan but Im liking their choice of flower here. They could have gone for the usual jasmin, rose or peony combo which seems to be very popular in a lot of scents these days. Luckily there is none of that here!

A gentle floral mix of tuberose and fruits which then drys down to a sweet (but not sickly) blend of the base notes where for me caramel and amber take the centre stage until HOURS later..and i mean HOURS when there is a musky vanilla that lingers on, sensual and close to the skin!

What is very clever is that somehow ALL the notes apear as would be expected and are beautifully blended but none actually disappear for me. They evolve yes and take a lesser role - but the complete fragrance is always apparent.

rosagarcia163

This is a great perfume, the best way to describe the scent is expensive cupcakes and champagne. It's not a perfume I consider to be a signature but it is deffintatly worth your money or a try

bren400

I lay here with my mouth open as I read everyone's post. Assuming those that don't like this fragrance wouldn't dare write a negative review because of all the popularity. WTH IS THIS??? FARRRR from fresh, fruity & light. It is aggressive & offensive! NEVER have I smelled something so horrid in my life!!! I'm sure if this wasn't put out by Dolce & Gabbana, it would've never sold. I can't even believe they came out with this fume. SMH

floralfragrance

This is such a beautiful fragrance and I wasn't expecting to like another flanker this much. It is as sweet as the original but with a fresher and juicier note included, it is very creamy and well blended. It can be a signature if youre looking for something vanillic and sweet, but also soft and elegant. Also may work all year round:)

Silkpuppet

This scent makes me so sad. It has caramel, vanilla, amber, and lychee- four of my all-time favorite perfume notes. The One Desire has all the features of scent I would adore; it is gourmand, it has a sexy black bottle, and it has decent longevity and sillage.

Then tuberose belly-flops into the mix and the whole thing goes to hell in a hand basket. Tuberose is one of my least favorite notes; it smells like plastic and play-doh to my nose. Without the tuberose, this smells like a tasty vanilla-lychee bubble tea (I guess the amber and caramel pulls tapioca for me). On the flipside, if you love sexy foody scents and you also love tuberose, this is a win for you!

EDIT: Tried this again and could tolerate the tuberose. I found that layering Desire with a vanilla lotion helped to bring the foody notes to the forefront.

vanillary29

Scrumptious! Much like the original, the caramel and tuberose adding depth to the already delicious vanilla-amber goodness! The original smells more refined, sophisticated whereas Desire has a hint of naughtiness simmering beneath. Perfect for evenings and colder months.

lyciumchld

First impressions: smells like Addict with lychee added and the spice removed. I'll need a few wears to get to know this one better, but thus far I like it.

Inamorata

I love the notes of tuberose and bergamote. This scent makes me think of a beautiful, relaxing holiday - it does wonders to my senses.

By the way - at the moment, it can be bought at a special price on Strawberry, for those who are interested.

melzy

The One Desire opens with dominant (and extremely juicy) lychee, accented with sweet caramel and creamy tuberose. It's an interesting combination, that always makes me think of passionfruit pulp swirled through melted white chocolate, as odd as that may sound.

Unfortunately, the initial juicy stage wears off quite quickly. On my skin, it dries down to a powdery, musky caramel-vanilla. I don't notice the citrus or the woods in this fragrance.

I get around 5-6 hours longevity. It would make a great evening fragrance for late Summer.

I'd just like to add: the note pyramid above is wrong. Top notes are correct. Middle notes should also include Lily, Jasmine and Plum. Base notes should include Musk and Labdanum. There is no official mention of Amber in this fragrance.

Hellita

The more I smell different perfumes (trying to find something new), the more I appreciate the One Desire. Every time I smell something I find overly sweet or too citrusy I comfort and remind myself that I've already got this fantastic scent in my collection. I should just stop looking for something else for a while, 'cause all I need is right here in this bottle :) The perfect balance between caramel sweet and floral fresh. So niiiice!
PS! I receive a lot of compliments on this one, mostly from men.

Irinka Popova

this is one of my fav's!!!but i'm wondering why sometimes i feel this note that people call "catpee"?this makes me crazy cause i love it so much and i don't know what will happen every time when i choose it from my parfume wardrobe!!!if somebody can help me and ask me why...i feel the same and with first THE ONE...

Hellita

Oh! I'm so amazed by this perfume! It's absolutely divine and it totally works for me. When I first took a sniff at the paper I said "WOOW" out loud! I tried it on my skin and it was just as good. Something very alluring with this scent I think. It's sweet, but not too sweet, creamy but still fresh, fruity yet warm and soft without it fading away instantly. On me the longevity is fine, though it calms down a bit in the dry down. The sillage is ok I guess (so not to the extent that it will choke people around you). It's girly and mature at the same time. Sexy and sensual but still daytime appropriate. I'm so glad I found it!

I had the original The One which I loved at first, until I found it to powerful for me (didn't develop much). I asked the sales lady to help me out when searching for a new perfume and I was about to stop her when she reached for The One Desire (since I had bad experience with the original), but I'm soooo happy I didn't! I've only worn "T.O.Desire" a couple of days now, but I can def. imagine this to be my new go-to frangrance and maybe even a new signature. To me this is just YUMMY. Man am I glad I finally found this! Without help I never would have discovered it. I left the store with a new EDP and a BIG smile on my face!
I will repurchase this one!! (warning: it's quite pricy)

magrathea17

I looked forward to this caramel scent, but litchi keeps ruining it from the beginning to the very end, it doesn´t fade away, how come? this makes this frag overly sweet in a strange way..without it it might be deli :)

Antares811

Similar to the original in the opening but after a couple of hours it turns different (caramel).
It's definitely a very lovely fragrance. If you like sweet, caramel scents this is beautiful because it's not overpowering or sickly.
Unfortunately, it's not very longlasting.

pravda48

I disliked the original due to an odd (to my nose) rose/litchi contradiction. I wasn't feeling it, I thought I disliked the litchi note, which made me sad since I LOVE to eat litchi fruits!! Used to get them in CA! :D

But this one... mmm! Real juicy litchi opening, so delicious! Made my mouth water and flung a cravin on me somethin fierce! (Sorry, my southern is showing.) Anyway it dries down to something that reminds me a LOT of HANAE MORI original. Smells like strawberry to me! Still sweet but not so much my thing. Will keep my sample for that opening!

larita91

Oh my God! Love at third sniff.
First, I thought it is the same as the original The One (which is something I adore on others, but can't stand on myself).
My second oopinion was...it is a lighter, more wearable version of The One, but basically still the same.

Finally, I'm in love. Very sweet, but in a mature way, lovely and extraordinary. Loud perfume with decent longetivity. It still really close to the original, but so much better! Less oriental to my nose.

Test it on skin, before you buy! Worth trying... :)

Rawannnna

This is a nice perfume with no "wow" element in it. very normal fruity-floral with meduim lasting power and sillage. its sort of linar and there is not much to discover about it. good and safe for every day use. not really dark or mysterious or has any partcular chacacter.

chrissyc15

I sprayed this on my left wrist and the original the one on the right. They smell nothing alike on my skin. The original The One is more sweet, subtle, sophisticated, and warm. Desire smells almost like straight Tuberose with a slight hint of vanilla. The caramel is completely nonexistent. Also, I spritzed these on last night at about 7pm. As of 3pm the next day I can still slightly smell the original, but Desire faded out before midnight. I am a HUGE lover of the original The one so I thought I would LOVE this one, but its more of a like. Not something I would wear regularly. So glad I didn't blind by this one like I originally thought about doing.

Sweet Sea Pea

I have a mini of The One EDP which I put on one wrist, and a sample of The One Desire Parfum Intense which I put on the other wrist. On the open The One Desire smelled pretty much like The One...cloying sweet. On the dry down all I really get is the white floral, with whispers of amber, and wood. I get no caramel! Ok, maybe a whisper of caramel, but I really want to smell it. It's a nice soft floral, I wouldn't call this a floriental at all, and that is my favorite category. I get no spice in this at all. If I was a lover of The One, I would probably be disappointed because I don't get that full round vanilla that The One has. I'm not a lover of The One, so I like this better but it's still pretty meh to me. Not offensive, something I *could* wear, but not something I crave or think to reach for unprompted. I have to say, after sniffing at both for a while, I have a headache. Yech.

kxnaiades

A decent smelling scent, delicious and thankfully none too artificial scent, opening with a quick burst of citrus, vanilla and lychee joining the caramel and after about an hour in, it settles into a amber/musk/wood base with the caramel and lychee still going strong. I would have wished for a stronger sillage and better longevity, after about half an hour it became pretty much a skin scent on me (it wasn't me going anosmic, other people used to strong perfumes radiating from me also commented on lack of scent). I'm not disappointed because it is a nice scent but I won't be getting another bottle after I'm done.

nightcat23

I like the idea of this scent but the strong Tuberose is the killer for me! I can't stand strong white florals and I wish it wasn't in this perfume.

AnnBerg

At first the smell is rather sharp on me but it settles soon and becomes a nice mix of tuberose and caramel with a fruity twist. It is sweet and creamy but also sophisticated and sensual. It smells absolutely wonderful.

Cascade05

Fresh , warm , simple yet intruging.... Good longivity but dries down quickly.

OTA Mom

"The One" is one of my top three all-time favorite fragrances. However, I should know by now not to try anything in a black bottle. Heavy, heady, languid and suffocating. This scent is not how I would define desire--no sparkle, no flame, no excitement. Personally, I would be repelled. Two thumbs down.

rttoronto

Boring. Boring. Blah. It's been LONG time since this house has made anything worth mentioning.

freddinos

I acquired The One Desire in a wonderful swap. I have used (and liked a lot) the original in the past, and was interested to also test this version. I thought it would be a darker, more intense flanker, based on the look of the bottle and the name. To my nose, this could be The One light. It opens with oriental floral notes (as opposed to the peachy opening of the original), then it almost dives to the depth of the original with all the balmy warmth, but never really gets to be as rich. It lasts less on my skin too, which was a shame. All in all, I found The One Desire a lighter, day and office appropriate version of the original. I suspect it blooms in warm weather, I wore it on a crisp London evening and it was whispering on my skin. Will be a good staple for spring and early summer!

arajuna

I love gourmands so I was really excited about this one, loved it the first few times I tested it and was set on having it,

however each time I sprayed it about 1 hour into wearing it, it would start to develop a really smoky and unpleasant plasticky undertone, which I have a suspicion is the tuberose being too heavy

I think its still pleasant and I would totally buy it if it wasn't for this smoky undertone, but I cant really justify buying it due to the price either...

DEFINETELY test this one more than once!

EDIT: I have since bought a gift set of this as it was only £30 for a 50ml bottle and a 100ml body lotion- I guess it's a love hate perfume. It is lovely, I do enjoy wearing it, it makes me feel very expensive. But some days I still relate to the off putting smokiness that it sometimes develops on me. Definetely a bit of a "only certain moods/occasions" perfume

happygeisha

sandalwood? check! tuberose? check! a tangy fruit top note? check!

now this is more like it. the One was just meh but DESIRE is one sexy frag! i'm guessing the amber and the caramel "darken" it for evenings and although i'm not a huge fan of sweet scents, the sandalwood seems to blend everything together beautifully, rounding out any sharp edges so its not overtly sweet just quietly so.

ETA: after wearing this last night in the cold, this was actually way too "sticky sweet" for me personally. so just a heads up.

the black bottle and gold lettering are just visually stunning as well, this would make a wonderful gift. quite romantic.

kay0981

This has one of the most beautiful openings of any fragrance ever. I just love the intoxicating blend of bergamot, mandarin, and litchi, which is the main opening note, and smells really delicious. It's a shame that the top notes don't last very long, because they really are to die for. :) The scent dries down quickly; and then tuberose rules its heart. But it's not too heady and overwhelming (as tuberose can be, for example, in Madonna's Truth or Dare). This one is quite soft and warm, coated in sweet caramel with some fruity accents.

The One Desire is sexy and voluptuous, bold, and quite intense. It's a very well blended composition of many, some might say, contrasting accords – there are the fruity tropical notes, heavy white florals, fresh citruses and the gourmand undertones. Although it might seem like an unusual composition, The One Desire does a really good job at blending these notes. It's not all so different from the original The One, but I find Desire much more interesting. I'd recommend it if you enjoy elegant, grown up sweet scents, because Desire truly is a wonderful one. ♥

Museumgal

I am going against the grain here and saying this is perfect for summer. Not during the day but a warm summer night-- the tropical notes make it just light enough with the warm florals and gourmands notes. Defintely an evening scent, a rich gourmand vanilla caramel balanced by the florals and sweet litchi. Not too sticky, not too fruity -- really well blended. Rich without being overwhelming. If you're a litchi fan -- I have a weakness for it myself -- this is a great evening scent with that as a prominent note. Hard to find nighttime scents with a good litchi.

emmyysl

I think like a AMANI CODE WOMEN...!

Repeat.Lynn

Just bought it..I didn't like it as soon as it hit my skin but after a few min..loved it.. so did my daughter...so yes I bought it.. rather pricey..but hey I am worth it.. ;0)

MadeiraD

On me I get litchi, vanilla, citrus. It's very nice, though I get almost no longevity.

Fizzy

It gets worse with the time. On the beginning: orange blossom, caramel, maybe chocolate, you can say, delicious - but then - screechy caramel. No, no, no.

Oahsa

In my opinion, the "litchi" smell killed the perfume! RIP.

Gandhilama

I received a nice sample size of this fragrance, and I´ve got to say it smelled like a burnt cake. There was a very sharp note in there that just clashed with everything else. At the end of the day the burnt smell no longer is too strong but just bringing this to my nostrils makes me sick.

napiergirl

Tried today and although i love the one and the one l'eau this was not what i expected. It was sweet ,very sweet and rich .Too much for my taste.Try before you buy.

anna7777777

I tried yesterday!Nothing special!at least for my skin....

Hieroglyph

its great, feminime and cute at the same time, i got this perfume for my 19th birthday

nora elia

I tried it yestarday and It did not work for me, it is to sharp and sour on my skin maybe its my body chemestry :( I really wanted to suit me

andabri

I really like this fragrance! It's very simple and smells exactly as advertised.

It opens with a beautiful bergamot, citrus, and lychee blast. The lychee part really smells like freshly peeled lychees, pretty amazing.

Dries down very quickly to a tuberose and caramel. It's really yummy and simplistic.

I read a lot of the reviews below and I have to disagree and say for me, if I buy a full bottle, this will be worth the money. Not every expensive perfume is going to be super complex or have heavy silage.

This is really well done, the white floral smells fresh and adds a clean edge to the caramel. It's not overtly floral or sharp or heady. The caramel is smooth and sweet, not cloying in the least, or headache inducing. Theres a bit of sandalwood that really mellows it out. Then the bergamot floats in the background tying the caramel and floral notes together. It's a light, sweet grown up scent. A really nice option to all the heavy sugary, syrupy scents out there. I've been looking for sweet fragrances I can enjoy and I've found it hard to find caramel and chocolate notes that exist without patchouli or spice notes or that aren't tooth achingly sweet, so I'm really enjoying this one.

mickey4u2070

Simply amazing. Deep, sexy and sensual yet not over powering, so even the early to mid 20s could easily pull it off! (don't recommend it for teens though)

I had my doubts as this is said to be more of a "mature" scent but I don't regret buyin the full bottle one bit. I have been wearing it every day for the past fortnight :D

Lasting power on my skin is very impressive- lasts all day on skin and until next wash on clothes. I can smell wafts of the scent through out the day and it really makes me feel special.

Highly recommended!

ForrealMe2

i love this perfume and was shocked to find a good dupe for it Jovan Satisfaction...my mother left a bottle of Jovan Satisfaction in my room and when i smelled it i couldn't believe how similar it is to Desire..the only difference is Jovan Satisfation is a little bit fuzzier or more champagne like but its almost exactly the same go figure and its cheaper if you can find it!

b4dream

nothing special with it. first note is fruity mango; then dramatically change to something I don't like on me. I gave to my brother and I like it on him. its lightness good for work.

anna.glowacka

I might be wrong but this reminds me of lighter version of J.Simpson Fancy. Fruity caramel idea. There's something slightly sour (probably lychee) which makes whole composition well blended and not going overboard with sweetness. I really like it but my skin was never tolerating good any scents from D&G so unfortunately The One Desire is also not for me due to very poor lasting power.

Safira

I prefer sweet and powdery perfumes, and this baby is definitely sweet. I tried it on three days in a row before finally caving in and buying it. I tried to convince myself that I have enough sweet perfumes, but this one is sweet in its own way, so it's rather unique.

I don't think it's candy sweet, and it's not cloying in any way. To me it stays pretty much the same from the initial spritz and into the drydown, though it becomes slightly sweeter after the initial floral burst. It's an inoffensive fragrance that perhaps doesn't revolutionize the perfume industry, but it certainly has its own charm in a warm, pleasant and sweet way.

Tanyaoxo

Loved it at first, only mildly like it now. It just gets boring! Stupidly bought the largest bottle- had it for months and barely made a dent in it. I just never reach for this over anything else. Shame, because I love the original The One and am a sucker for caramel notes! Who knows.

Eaugirlspirit

This fragrance is overpriced, and really shouldn't be priced higher than the original "The One" formula. Reason being, it has worse lasting power on the skin. The initial spray is enticing and warm, with jasmine and tuberose accords mixing with bergamot and litchi fruits, supported by a deeper, vanillic base. However, after the floral and fruit accords dry down you are left with a smooth caramel-vanilla that is basically a skin scent. I get 1-2 hours of sillage and then it becomes a skin scent for me. The original "The One" wears longer on my skin with decent sillage all around. I also like how the original is more vanilla based. The Desire flanker is more floral and lighter, better for the warmer seasons.
The scent pyramid needs to be adjusted. The description says there is fruit of plum as well as madonna lily and jasmine in the heart.

rita.m

very very very very Wonderful fragrance but does not last long tried it on my skin and does not last more than half an hour, I felt disappointed because i like it
And its price is $ 105 75 ml<<<< high-priced compared to its quality

SillySue

So so ordinary and uneventful. Very simple fragrance that's nice enough, but surely doesn't compell. Once I smelled it my mind didnt even wander back for a second. Completely forgotten.

ecerusen

after look at the note pyramide and comments, i went to the store for trying. i couldnt find anything sexy and interesting.just an ordinary perfume.disappointment

Queen23

Amazing.my new favorite

lemontreelime12

I get frustrated with D&Gs 'the one' perfumes. They barely last past the moment you spritz. That said this _might_ be a great smell, but its so transitory that I really can't say for sure.

mymlan

Yes: Caramel, tuberose, vanilla, sweet, fruity, white floral... And that's about it, ll. It smells good but a bit too sweet for my taste. I tried it because I was looking for a good tuberose fragrance, but in my opinion there are a lot better tuberose fragrances out there. But if you are looking for something sweet and easy to wear TOD will probably do.

Berth

oohhh I'm glad I got this! is really good sweet, warm, intoxicating florals and juicy fruits. Finally, a beauiful oriental fragance without patchouli (I hate it. I just wanna go out at night to bathe in it! Delicious sexy scent ideal to be dressed up

Takhaet

I tried a sample few days ago. I had high hopes for this one but I am disappointed a little bit.

Its very very similar to original The One but sweeter. Very generic and girly sweetness- I was expecting something more mature and not so overwheming- it was just too much for me.

I could really smell a lot of sugary-caramel note but after a while its disappeared and the smell got back to its roots- the original The One.

I will pass on this one unfortunatelly. Shame.

jaa456

I own "The One" (original) and "Rose" The One, so of course I was curious about their lastest spin off show, but not interested purchasing as the "Ones" don't last very long on my skin.

While at Macy's the SA offered me a delux sample and told me that this was the only fragrance that sold out during Mother's Day.

The spillage is excellent. It opens with with the caramel and litchi holding hands and behaving like berries. Followed closely by the citus and vanilla. The drydown is a beautiful long lasting powdery musk, similar to its parents but better.

It's sexy but not elegant, suitable for day.

isabelamattarelli

thank you ForrealMe2 :D !!!

ForrealMe2

isabell:
yes with added litchi making is smell like a cranberry scent blended with the original..deep berry smell..if you like the original you will like this one its more fruitier with the original together..a nice twist on it

isabelamattarelli

Hi :) help me! ... is this a powdery fragance just like the original??

paojaime

Despite the variation of notes, this hit my skin and became caramel. It is lovely but not fruity like some people are claiming, at least not on my skin

iloveascot

I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to. I prefer fragrances with citrus notes. My first name is Desiree...that caught my attention right away. I want to try it for my fiance who is coming to visit from Scotland.

geur

I desire this! I sprayed a bit and HEAVEN! so good. Tuberose and caramel melted with a hint of bergamot and amber= balanced so well. I love it. I want it, will have it for my birthday. Treat for me. Treat for you.

abigaila.dumitrache

Beautiful hand Dow just a beautiful fragrance sexy seductive just very sensual
All in all, I'm so glad I bought this. This is pretty and sensual. But the sensuality is not loud or cheap. It rings to the saying of "Be a lady in the street and a whore in bed". Not a cheap, freak, skanky whore. But a sweet, elegant and dexterous escort.

Pari88

My big sissy bought it for herself in the airport, she tired of it and passed it to me a few days later; I passed it on to the youngest sis (I pray she doesn't like it). Super boring. Bland rubber tire amber and buttery tuberose with the juicy orange giving it some spark, but as quick as that spark came is as quick as it went... Similar to the original, but the orange freshens it up, the drydown, however, is almost exactly the same as the Original. Boring, just like the Original. Smells like Bijan VIP...cheap amber. Smelling this I imagine Gotham City..dark office parties, everyone in Black, Robots, Clones, No character, No Faces, Just dollar signs, Its Always foggy, Cop sirens are always running, Tall glass buildings as far as the eye can see...some might like it, but that's not my world...

charlottesmom

YUM!! YUM!!!!!!!!!! First off I ADORE The One, always have always will but it has to be applied very very lightly (spray a Q-tip then delicately stroke it on my wrist and neck) or it becomes unbearable and gives me a headache. In short a little goes a loooooooong way! I was in Macy's today and walked by the D&G fumes, I always sniff the bottle for The One (even though I own it), it just makes me happy to smell it. I noticed the had the tester bottle of The One Desire out so I sprayed it on a card, I got my hand in the process too. On the way home from the mall I kept sniffing my hand because it smelled so good. It smelled exactly like The One only lighter, not as overpowering as The One very wearable for daytime. I keep smelling the card I sprayed it on and it smells much better on my skin than it does on the card....usually it is the other way around! I am getting a bottle of this asap!! I know it will last forever too as The One lasts all day plus.

Sillage: 2/5 very very close to the skin, unless you over do it, then it's a major projector.

Longevity: 5/5 (I predict) still going very strong after 4 hours, the original The One lasts 18 hours plus on me (I can still detect it after a shower most of the time).

In conclusion: I like this even better than the original The One! It is on a very short list of "MUST haves!!!".... :0)

Update: still love this stuff but the longevity is not as long as I was hoping for, it lasted about 5 hours then vanished, I'm getting a small bottle with an order to Sephora (deluxe trial bottle).

elisa.fuentes briones

very similar to the one but fresher . nothing special.

DariDahlia

This is sweet and pretty, but not childish either. I wasn't a big fan of The One, but this is nicer. Reminds me of Delices by Cartier, but this lasts longer, and the tuberose is a nice touch. I think I may buy this...

lilou

The same as The One, in a deeper and sweeter way, with very good lasting power : so better than The One.
I like The One and I love The One Desire.

I am not impressed. Its very simular to The One, perhaps slightly more floral. even though the notes are somewhat different but it fades into nothing in minutes. Ironic, considering that original The One is a rather long lasting scent.

To each one their own but all I can say is "eh"

Just got a sample and am sorry I didn't spring for a bottle! That never happens to me. I usually have to test drive a fragrance, think about it, rationalize spending the money on it instead of something like my electric bill. In other words, I have to talk myself into purchasing fragrance every time. The closer I come to using up this sample, the more compulsion I feel to run into Nordstrom's and spring for a bottle of Desire! I love it! For some strange reason, in my winter years, I have come to love sweet gourmands and have no use for complex fragrances. Perhaps I'm in my second childhood! But this fragrance starts out with a wonderful caramel note that lingers a good while and some lovely floral notes come in and the heart is a wonderful mix with a lovely dry-down. I do wish this was longer lasting, but I like it so much, I won't mind re-spraying. It does start out strong, so two sprays get it well enough for a few hours. I do like my fragrances strong-but I've found that some people get offended with my heavy hand with perfume, so I have to be respectful of that. Over-all I really like this fragrance and I'm a bit surprised because I didn't care for the original The One. It smelled ordinary to me. This fragrance isn't cheap, so I'll have to save my pennies for a bottle, but it's definitely on my purchase list! I love it! At least get a sample and give it a try-if you love sweet fragrances, this one will please!

Starts as a blast of sweet fruits and then, thankfully, fades into nothingness on me. Not my cup of tea at all. Really just more of the same in the current genre of forgettable gourmands, of which I am obviously not a fan.

I like this version of The One. From the elegant bottle design to oozing juice inside. I could image wearing a little black dress had a spray or two with this perfume and feeling so seductive and sexy. This is a head-turner. It may be sweet but not girly teenage sweet. In my initial experience, whenever I think that there are notes that didn't agree with me or whenever I think that I wouldn't like it, the scent will change that makes me loving it more. It's really a seducing frag, the more you resist it, the more you will love it! :)

On me, this opens with lily plus something rather tart (not sure what that is - puts me to mind of the tartness of sour apple, but not that strong) then the tartness fades quickly into soft (not too 'screechy') tuberose and some sandalwood.

Very pretty stuff!

The caramel, vanilla or otherwise gourmand notes happen very late in the dry down on me, and even then, it's only slight.

On me this is a 97% floral fragrance, but that's kind of how my skin has been lately.

If you're expecting something very gourmand or very oriental, I strongly suggest that you try before you buy, just in case your skin is like mine.

That's not to say that I don't like this; I like it a lot!!
I could easily imagine this as a wedding day fragrance.

This is my new signature scent!!! I get so many compliments

This is very beautiful. Softer than the original warm and cozy.

I think this DESIRE is a wish to be back in the childhood. It opens exactly like multivitamin on me I was drinking gladly as a kid. It stays so for a while and than blend with warm dense running caramel. Tuberose gives it the remarkable creaminess and unripe feel. I quite like it but somewhere in the middle it reminds me very on the original The One which isn;t my favourite. Moderate sillage, great longevity, lovely scent for feeling "secure" wrapped in creaminess and just for smelling deliciously good. I wouldn;t call it sexy though! Nice :-)

Litchi, caramel and tuberose. In that order.
Sweetly gourmand and fruity, but not overbearing. To me it's not a particularly sexy fragrance. It's cozy, powdery, sweet. Has a bit of vintage flavor.

Everytime I wear this I get heads turning In all directions!!!

Nice flanker, but I was expecting a gourmand The One due to caramel notes, but I couldn't find what I was expecting, sweet tuberose fragrance, very similar to the The One.

I went to my local ulta today and tested this fragrance because I love lychee and tuberose.I sprayed only on my wrist. My first thoughts were tropical, exotic and soft gourmand and does anyone get a beachy vibe with the tuberose sandalwood combo? This is surprisingly natural smelling for a mainstream perfume. There is no strong alcohol smell. This fragrance takes awhile to develope on the skin and the sillage is very soft.I don't get a lot of tuberose but I think its because this scent is so well blended. The fruit is subtle as well as the vanilla caramel notes but its all there blended together. This reminds me of a sophisticated viva la juicy.Even though this is more of a warm scent you could wear it on spring and summer nights. My only wish is that they would have amped up the lychee note and the floral note and maybe added a touch of dry coconut.I would describe this as a tropical gourmand.I could see some girl from rio or miami rocking this scent. Its sophisticated yet has an exotic sultry undertone probably from the sandalwood.Like I said it does stay close to the skin so if your looking for a powerhouse fragrance this may not be for you.I enjoyed this fragrance and am thinking of purchasing for an exotic evening scent.Think animl print sundress, wavy flowing hair, skin hot from the sun and a soft warm smell of white flowers and tart fruit with a sultry vanilla caramel swirl. There I go again getting all dramatic! This I have to say is worth a smell.I love the black bottle as well.I would compare this fragrance to euphoria and viva la juicy.Dark yet fresh and warm with a touch of fruit. This is the least synthetic parfume I have smelled in a long time!Well done D&G!

This perfume was not as dark or noir as I expected but it comes together really well. The lychee, though on its own an odd note to me, adds some zing to it at the beginning, and I think that tuberose is forming the backbone for it staying nicely on my skin. THere is a bit of caramel but not too much. I could see this going well with more dressy/stylish work environments but I'm not afraid to wear it casually either.

Norgirl

Not that far from The One . but a bit more floral and brigth. but the longevity on this one stinks . it was gone so fast . and im truly disapointed
This i thought would be a even better The one for summer and thouse days you want to be a bit more uplifted then just the vanilla comfort off The one Original..
i guess i have to get to the One Rose for that.. this one was gone in a few hours.. totaly gone . not a trail ..
well i stick to the original and the rose for The One feal ;)
