Some like their fragrance to be noticed so projection then becomes important. I love this fragrance so much so that once I sense the aroma, I care less as to opinion. It is beautifully balanced, not in your face, soft sweet tones throughout the day. I will buy again

Om3r_perfumes

Not the best fragrance from Guerlain. It has a nice almond and peppery opening while drying down to a more tobacco and cinnamon scent. It’s a good scent overall, not that unique tho. For me what truly brings this down is the poor projection. You have to really smell it close to the skin or cloth to get the scent. I genuinely have no idea why this doesn’t project, and the longevity is quite poor too lasting around 5-6 hours on my skin. Honestly I’m not impressed by this, but at the same time it’s not bad. I just think it’s a mediocre scent and ar that price point there are soooo many better designer fragrances to take instead of this one. I don’t recommend to buy this, although the scent is quite good on its own.

I usually avoid sweet scents, but this is pretty good. The opening is still too much: Hyper-sugary cherry soda and plums. Still, this is supremely smooth stuff, and the dry down is immaculate. It is a true gourmand scent, never erring on the side of being juvenile or feminine (to my nose, this is unisex).

I'm curious, which one in this line is the LEAST bubblegummy? I feel like I could love this DNA if it were just a little drier and darker.

BatemansFragrances

@HeyItsJoel believes too much in marketing and listed notes. Untrained nose acting all high and mighty.

The original release version of this has cherry, straight up Dr pepper cherry and PLUM. It might not have it listed, but even a 90 year old smoker who's been snorting coke their whole life would be able to smell the cherry

Trying the new version soon to compare. I still have a little bit of the original release version of extreme.

ElenaK03

This review is for the new black cap bottle: sooo my husband got this as a gift and I am absolutely amazed by it. It’s 100% unisex, fall winter sweet and a bit spicy. To my nose the opening is in the same family as Angel Share, they’re like second cousins (I own angel share as well). I absolutely love it. It’s sexy, not overwhelming if u don’t overspray. Has good longevity but doesn’t project very loud. It’s not a boys and girls fragrance, it’s for elegant men and women .

HeyItsJoel

@ Flex Luther: you're getting this fragrance confused with the L'Homme Ideal EDP which has the Cherry note. This Extreme version doesn't have it. It's got plums.

As a child I'd strip the cake and the icing from Christmas cake and just eat the marzipan. This is rich marzipan and plum, the performance has staying power. I've the old bottle which is frankly a joke as it looks like something from the fragrance counter at a budget supermarket. But make no mistake this is a gorgeous, grown up date night fragrance, not far behind the likes of Plum Japonais, SDV, or Angel's Share, though these are way more pricey. Maybe compare with Fahrenheit Parfum, Pasha Parfum, CH Men Prive or some such. Though its a notch better than these.
Best suited for colder weather, maybe autumn. The deep drydown is just gorgeous, a woody amaretto.
4.5/5
PS I tried the new version with the silver label, something a little lacking, less rich, still good but not as great. The old bottle is worth paying up for.

Noting to say just it is another Wonderfull juice from this Guerlain Line. They never disappointed you loool 🥰

olfactory fetish

A beautifully blended scent of amazing quality that melts the notes into perfect harmony. What makes it a little difficult for me to wear and enjoy it is: 1. It's too sweet for me. 2. This fragrance has a sophisticated elegance that you can't wear every time. 3. Restrained projection. Despite all this, my rating is 4.5/5

Flex Luther

Ok so I’m going to play devils advocate and say I think I like the newer bottle better than the old. I was on the hunt for the red packaging version and no where would sell me their tester bottles as I found out the packaged one will come in the newer bottles. So I got 3 decants filled up of the older formulation. I also had a 2ml tester of the black cap version and when I worn this I loved that cherry pop smell. The ladies around me loved it too. Then I started using my decants. ( red package) and it’s not as strong and doesn’t have that unique cherry smell as like the black cap version. Think I will keep my decants and buy the new bottle.

Invasionbg

I've tried the juice from the new batch on my trip to Romania and was very strong. Don't know why people are saying it's weak.

steviedee

Performance for me was not great either on a 2022 batch bottle (black cap) purchased last year - but after a season on the shelf & used this week, has really woken up, fabulous.

@dhishum000

Nowadays designer and niche frags are reformulated within 3-5 years of release. They are watered down and aren't worth the price. I have Ideal Extreme and my batch is the year it came out. It performs very well 7-8 hours easy with decent projection for first 2.5 hours. My advice is buy the ones that have just come out recently like within 2 years of their release and you won't be disappointed. These youtube frag influencers mostly buy scents as soon as they come out cause its what their work requires so for them the performance is usually solid. I have a big collection and this has been true for almost all designer fragrances. hope this helps.

dhishum000

So bought this from guerlain store at retail price from dubai mall. So no doubt of it being a fake. I love tobacco scents beyond any other notes and so loved it on the very first sniff. My wife was with me and we both loved it.
But but but alas! Bad performance. Like even after keeping it for 3 months.
I over sprayed it on tshirt, left my house on a 5 minutes bike ride to my destination which was an airconditioned large prayer room. Came back after 1& 1/2 hour. Asked my wife if she could smell me from 2 feet distance. Nada!
She literally sniffed me to smell the scent.

By the way this is now happening consistently with a lot of french perfumery. Big names but no gains. I feel like cheated by you tubers and reviewers.

Really feel sad.

Semsir

Beautiful scent but horrible performance, good for summer evenings. I think i will let it macerate for a few weeks.

pilotdc

The opening smells synthetic with the fruity plum and almond screaming out. Thankfully the drydown settles into something warm and pleasant. A sweet tobacco with cinnamon.

Fuder95

I got the new bottle it’s meh I don’t have the old one can’t say which is better but the scent it boring nothing special I don’t get tobacco at all, I’m out doesn’t worth the money …

NecroLust

I had a newer black cap bottle, and I have the older red cap bottle. The main difference is the older style bottle has a more pronounced fruitier opening, the plum is lush and lingers a good amount of time. The newer black cap bottle has less of the fruity opening and a heavier leather dry down. Both bottle styles have excellent performance, but the older style bottle lasts forever on clothes. Either way, old or new, both are top notch.

PrettyTasty

Love it!
Got it just recently and was lucky enough to get the old formulation of this and can say that the performance is solid, longevity of about 7 hours and moderate sillage, nothing too in your face but also not a skin scent which is perfect for date night wear, but can be worn for almost any nighttime occasion, surprisingly in the summer aswel (if its not scorching hot). The scent itself is a beauriful mature plum and almond mix with a touch of tobacco and leather which becomes more prominent in the drydown. Might be some recency bias but i believe that this might be the best fragrance in my collection so far and due to its nice versatility i mentioned it might just be my signature scent before the scorching hot days of summer come. 9.7/10

DubScents11.11

Just because it seems to be such a topic of debate in the comments, I have the old bottle and the new, and after a little macerating I find no difference in smell or longevity between the two. An absolutely amazing fragrance in my opinion. It gives an impression of class and confidence. For me, the most prominent notes of tobacco and plum are intoxicating…

frankcoelho

OMG, this is delicious!
I love the old bottle design and really think the basic all-around same bottle for all of them is kind of boring, but so classy. Juice color is distinct for this one - potent orange/amber-looking. I have one of the newer bottles and, man, this is amazing!

Smells quite similar, just like EDP and L'Intense, to the original (this one being the closest to the og) WITH a twist - a beautiful twist by the way. Plum + tobacco are evident right from the opening. A little synthetic with the sweet-bitter almond. Smells nothing like other fragrances out of the L'Homme Ideal collection - great change of pace even within the collection.

Others may disagree but this smells beautiful in warmer days (not quite scorching summer). Signature scent worthy, especially for more mature guys, as it smells quite masculine to me, say 25 and older.

Great longevity ~7h and good sillage. Got my 100ml for ~$90. Second to only L'Intense in this line.

rob2b

This is gorgeous. A wonderfully complex, layered chypre. The top sparkles with citrus, a crisp dry pink pepper and that all-important LHI almond, before the composition descends into swirls of sweet tonka-like heliotrope, dark plum, a tobacco accord, leather and chypre mossy woods. It’s modern and yet deliciously vintage in its base also. Just wonderful!
This feels like a modern perfume but with a significant nod to Guerlain’s past. I shall be ordering a bee bottle of this.

L'Homme Ideal Extreme was significantly reformulated in 2022, when the black cap bottles came out. There was a very noticeable difference in the ingredients and the formula code changed from 14593 to 17014. My 2023 bottle isn't strong at all. Maybe 90 minutes of light projection and 4-5 hours before it disappears. I'll give it a few months and see if maceration does anything. My L'Homme Ideal edt and edp both seem to have gotten stronger over the last year.

Does anyone mind PMing me about the difference between the one I'm seeing with a grey label vs the one with a red label? Is this a reformulation? Should I be buying one over the other?

Jaype

As a young guy, I frequently wore Guerlain's Habite Rouge. I remember fondly that fragrance and it was an important olfactory memory. So I was really quite looking forward to this. That had lasting power and a good ballsy kick.

This modern iteration (my bottle is from the end of 2023) is a weak pile of synthetic nothingness. A "new car" smell, possibly with one of those godawful synthetic tobacco-scented trees dangling from the rearview. The smell of plastic and corn syrup.

It smells like cheap air freshener and synthetic leather. Flat and dull. I just can't see past how utterly mundane it is and I absolutely do not want this smell anywhere near me let alone on me.

Disappointing. A lesson in not listening to others and getting samples.

alvra

I understand the widespread appeal of this fragrance, but personally, I detect a pronounced animalic note that might not resonate with everyone. Despite this, I appreciate the well-balanced combination of almond, tobacco, and plum notes. It's undoubtedly a well-crafted fragrance, but it doesn't work for me.

fenderselect13

not bad but longevity is disappointing. selling after 1 month of test.

Allfactory

Scent is very good. Decent projection the first 1-2 hours. Longevity is really disappointing. Had high hopes for this one. Not a repurchase.

Bingo30

One of the best winter fragrances I own.

Imagine a mason jar filled with dried raisins, a few ripe plums, touch of cinnamon, and dark liquor. Close it up and check on it a few weeks later. I'm convinced that is how they make this stuff.

michael.oliver

Out of all my 60+ fragrances this is the one that still knocks me for 6 every time. It’s the most beautiful scent and I love to wear it on any occasion. It is only a cold weather scent for me and couldn’t wear this in the heat, but my god is this stunning.

I’m on my last 30ml of my original bottle (red cap and sticker) and just ordered another 100ml after below review saying it was on offer in Notino. I did have to double check as the cap and bottle sticker have changed and now after reading reviews of the dreaded reformulation, I’m worried that it’s going to pale in comparison. Might have to save my last 30ml for when I want to treat myself and use the new bottle for daily wear.

MattRotar

Tried this today, because Notino has a really good deal on it (65€ for 100ml) and yea…. This stuff is criminally overhyped if you ask me. Ive tried it before on strip and thought it was ok, but today I tried it on skin. I think most Americans like it, just because of how hard it is to get in the states. Its really a very simple, sour/sweet and not even that long lasting cherry and leather combo, with some almond up top. The opening is actually really good. Than you get into this weird stage in the mid, where it smells like a cheap cherry candy, theres this synthetic, almost plastic like smell, that eventually thankfully dried off, but even still after it sits for about 30 min the projection really dies down. Almond steps in the background, which makes the cherry smell a little sour in an unpleasant way. Its kinda like a cherry compote, that has gone slightly off. EDP is much brighter, sweeter and overall just more natural and pleasant smelling IMO. My girlfriend also isnt a fan of this for anyone wondering how women liked it. (I know plum is listed not cherry, but it really smells more of cherry than plum to me)

Vikkinca

Supreme L’Homme Extreme by Fragrance World, which is a clone of this Guerlain, also has a bit of Herod going on. Think of Herod with a lot more cherry. The Fragrance World is a fantastic fragrance, beautiful scent. Longevity is around 10 to 12 hours. It does stay closer to skin but it's one of those fragrances that you won't go nose-blind to. Honestly a steal at $20.

InTheDale

This has the worst projection of any fragrance I’ve ever tested, disappearing almost instantly. Worse than D&G The One! For the 30 seconds I can smell it, it’s a pleasant but generic floral scent that is decidedly feminine. Extremely unimpressed by this one. I bought a decant from DecantX.

Tripokaridos

I have to say my TOP 3 Winter , Fall perfumes of all time ... I was lucky to smell it on a store and i hooked up.
Fresh opening , sweet but not in a bad way , aromatic and the dry down omg so Elegant so unique .
I have the New bottle black sticker black cap , it last easy 8-10 hours on skin ... It projects easy 2-3 hours with 3-4 sprays .

c3drricc

it is a strong almond scent with plum, pink pepper and tobacco notes and a bit leathery. it is a strong fragrance that may not appeal everyone, but its verry classy a reason that makes it not really versatile. the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, it looks sophisticated and the atomiser is good.
scent 10/10
longevity 6,5/10 (could have been better)
sillage 7,5/10
bottle design 10/10

Scuervo1

There is a noticeable resemblance to Dior Homme Original, with the interplay of plum and almond creating a sweet, gentlemanly aura. If you appreciate the Dior, exploring this fragrance is worthwhile as they share a similar essence. The scent evokes a sense of the late 2000s but is infused with a contemporary sweetness present in today's fragrances. While it attempts a modern twist, it still carries a somewhat outdated feel.

Unfortunately, like the Dior, it carries an unpleasant scent that doesn't match my personal preference.

sethro77

The eau de parfum version of L'homme ideal is amazing, but take away that cherry, and add in a deep dark plum, slap some skanky leather on it, and sprinkle it with some pink pepper, and you have this masterpiece of a scent. It is classy and bad boy at the same time. Wear it in a suit, and people are going to know that you arrived in a vintage mustang.... Wear it in your leather jacket and jeans, and people will just know that you pulled up in a classic aston martin... This scent lets everyone know whether dressed up, or dressed down, that you are a man of complexity, class, but also ready to get down in the dirt and have some fun... I love this scent, and how the almond signature note offers it just enough roundness to smooth the edges between bad boy, and dapper man that it bridges the gap between.

Guerlain l'homme ideal Exterme
Romantic Gentle Scent
My favortie from L'homme ideal line , more elegant and complex than other flankers
Powdery almond and fruity plum with leather , cinammon and hint of smoky tobacco at the base
Great winter fragrance 👍

E.L.2002

It is actually pretty good.. I should use it more often.
Scent wise, it is more similar to the EdT than the EdP.

Scent 8,5/10
Performance 8/10
Versatility 6,5/10

Shinobot

Got a decant of this from DecantX, really nice smell for about 2-3 hours and then it's skin scent. Very disappointing performance, maybe older formulations were good but newest ones are not worth it.

Neptino

It's like the EDP but with a light smoky cinnamon-like tobacco note. It was never reformulated so dont believe what you read on the internet by these bottle snobs who think it was. Anyone will get at least 7 hours from it with projection lasting more than 6 hours. Personally I get 12 hours from it. The scent is unique and a total masterpiece!

Thank you Guerlain for this piece!

Mohammd.Alneyadi

The new formulation smells nice but wont last more than 1-2 hours with a weak sillage.

PerfumeUser2023

I have the EDP, but it's with a black Cap- I know the shop I bought it from, sells original products.

It' s an intense mature citrus quality perfume. I don't detect sweetness at first, nor the woods. It' s just sour that transitions slowly into sweetness.

Longevity on my skin is 1 to max 2 hours. On my clothes up to 4 hours. Silage is average during cold, and bellow when warm.

It' s a more mature, better option to other cheap generic perfumes, but I don't think is anything special.

I would recommend it to anyone wanting something more quality, citrus sour sweet, but only if bought at a discount price.

edstyler

First, I bought L'homme Ideal EDT, which is a perfect leather almond bomb, exceptional. 10/10

Then the EDP, which is even more intense cherry/almond bomb, an excellent fragrance for colder weather. A solid 10/10.

Finally, I tried this one, and then again, and again... I want to like it because it's Guerlain, but it's not working for me. Plum with too much leather doesn't do the job well enough and elegantly, so this one goes to third place.

It smells significantly better on a test strip than on the skin because on the skin, it smells a bit like urine (probably the tobacco that sticks to the skin). If it were the same as on paper, it would be much better.

Rating: 6/10.

giannis_ant

Love the scent, just amazing nishe quality. As far the reformulations talks go, I have to say that I've tried both bottles and the newer formulation one had better performance and projection. So I have concluded from reviews that the performance is very random right now.
Nevertheless, amazing fragrance for a great price.

kntrdzs

I really wanted to love this scent because it is a true masterpiece, but… the performance of the reformulated version is so disappointing. I can say that this is my weakest perfume in my collection. It only lasts for 2-3 hours at most with very close sillage.

Why Guerlain why???

nibolis

sweet fruity and a little bit smoky
very nice projection and longevity
might buy this one

Viltto

Do not buy this fragrance as it currently is! I bought new 100ml bottle and it is genuine Guerlain.

This should not be called parfum and performance is garbage. 2-3 hours max and it’s totally gone. Save your money else where. I’m very dissapointed.

ebm92i

Can’t stop loving it. 10/10

Raul Claudiu

The best of the line right now. Performs better than the EDP and is also more modern smelling (sweeter, creamier, heavier on ambroxan). Very good value for what you’re getting, this smells niche.

toosimilar

It's that much warm, sweet, sexy that I am wearing this fragrance as a woman!
Amazing!

TheDogfatherHTX

**Update**
I'm convinced the one I got was a fake, so take this review with that grain of salt when it comes to performance. I'll try to revisit this review if I can get my hands on another bottle.

This Guerlain scent, along with L'Homme Ideal EDP, are the most hyped of the brand. Decided to give it a try to see if the hype is real. Get ready for a roller coaster ride;

Scent:
Opening is fruity but spicy, bright but warm. Right off the bat you get all the top and mid notes. The easiest ones to pick out are the bergamot, almond, plum, and cinnamon. You also get just a touch of the base notes. About 30 minutes in the bergamot and pink pepper are gone, and all the base notes start becoming much stronger, especially the tobacco. Further into the dry down it's mostly light woods and leather. VERY light.

Performance:
Initial projection is strong, about 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well leaving a noticeable scent trail. However, it takes a sharp dive after that. Within a couple of hours, this fragrance no longer had any projection or sillage, and was just a skin scent. Within 8 hours, it was pretty much non-existent on my skin. For being a very hyped niche (ish) fragrance hovering around $100, this is unacceptable.

When to wear:
As far as season, this is fall/winter day or night scent. I'd say it's too strong for the office, but chances are no one will smell it on you within a couple of hours anyway.

Blind buy:
I WOULD call this a safe blind buy based of the scent alone, if you like sweet/spicy/tobacco fragrances. But because of the performance, this is NOT a safe blind buy.

Final verdict:
This is a BIG fail. The scent itself is wonderful while it lasts. If the performance was halfway decent, I'd be happy with this fragrance. However, with the performance being as terrible as it is, I would not recommend this scent to anyone. For what it's worth, I have the reformulation in the silver label bottle. I've heard the older red label bottle doesn't have this problem. So I'd say unless you can find the older red label bottle, skip this one. I'll probably be returning or selling this. The hype is NOT real.

*Update*
I returned it.

Deelecto

I understand why some rate Extrême highest in the L’Homme Ideal line, but for me it’s the least favourite (I also have EDP and L’Intense). It does project the best of the bunch, but that’s due to a rather sharp musk that it has in common with less-expensive, primarily Middle Eastern, scents. I actually feel like I’m smelling a strong, cheap clone of the Homme Ideal DNA, and I find this less enjoyable to wear than the others, although the tobacco is a nice twist. But beast mode is obviously what some are looking for, so if the others are too reserved for you, this might be the one you need.

anapista

Guys, there is an EDP from Fragrance World: Supreme l'homme Extreme which is a clone of Guerlain's. It cost only $39 in Triple Traders and it is fantastic. Very close to the OG and smells quality, way over the price tag. The notes are exactly the same as Guerlain's, it is a nice aroma with good sillage and longevity. This is just for you who do not want to spend a lot of money and have a nice fragrance for a fraction. Just so you know and consider it if you like. I recommend it.

rgbjnk

Got a 2023 batch, I am not happy about the purchase. For the first 2 hours I find it good, after I only feel a dusty leathery dry smell. Not worth in my opinion.

Vjm48315

I had a sample of this when it first came out in 2020 with the red cap and thought it smelled absolutely amazing..perfect 10/10. Of course I procrastinated buying a bottle at the time because it was hard to get and expensive. So I waited awhile and finally picked up a bottle in 2022 when it became more readily available. They changed the bottle by then and I got the one with the Black cap and I heard that it was reformulated, but I purchased anyways. I can say with certainty that there is a noticeable difference, just seems weaker and more watered down. It still smells good and I will wear it, but I wouldn't repurchase it. Why would they reformulate this after just a couple years of being out? That's still pretty new in my book.

d00dster

I regret not getting a bottle of this in the original colors. The new look still smells amazing though! I kept forgetting about the Ideal line except the EDP I have, and I am SO glad I got this one. The plum, almond, leather go together so well with this one. This is even smoother than the EDP. This is super juice.

MoCheezePlz

It's a very great scent. But smells like a Bleu de Chanel EDP Flanker

Both have top notes of Bergamont and Pink Pepper. But Extreme has almond

Both have fruity and spice middle notes - Plum vs Melon and Cinnamon vs Nutmeg (Extreme vs Bleu)

Both have Base Notes of Patchouli and Cedar. Extreme is more tobacco and leather whereas Bleu is more Amber

I own Bleu de Chanel and got a sampler of Extreme. If I smelled Extreme and u didn't tell me what it was I'd think it were a Bleu de Chanel Flanker

Since I already own Bleu de Chanel I'll just stick with it

The plum and almond in the Extreme are great tho

monsieur.moustache

Nice scent for dates or more formal occasions. A mature/sophisticated fragrance. Similar to the OG, perhaps with a bit better performance.

Based on other reviews, I was expecting something mind-blowing. This is not the case, but it is nice nonetheless.

8/10

renan franzener

This is a work of art. The opening boasts an incredible fruity accord with almond, and as it dries down, the addition of tobacco and leather makes the fragrance even better. The overall performance is very impressive. There's nothing more to say; just try it.

HelloTurkish

I fell in love with the EDP so jumped in and got the full line. This packs a very different and more significant punch than the EDP, so best advice here would be to use sparingly (talking from experience).

Where the EDP has a powerful cherry and almond top note, I expected this to be in the same vein with the plum, but I don’t get that. The pepper and leather stand out, with the plum and almond soft undertone to it.

I used this on a cooler September night in U.K and went with the same number of sprays as I’d enjoyed with the EDP, but it projected far stronger and believe me, it lasts! Firmly believe one spray to the chest will have this to perfection, whereas I overdone it.

Less likely to be more here and it’ll come into its own when the chilly nights set in.

If you love the line, you’ll like this, but probably find it has a more limited occasion in comparison to the EDP, which I’d where anywhere.

I like, but in time and better used this could really grow on me.

torturedsoulboy

Every fragrance needs critical reviews, so here is my experience as an unwilling amber-wood super-smeller.

Starting with the positives — for me this fragrance projects like crazy. I sprayed twice on my well-moisturized upper forearm and my entire apartment smelled cloyingly sweet for hours despite the fact that I always step outside when applying a fragrance. I could even smell it on my skin on the next day… And that’s after washing it off twice with two different kinds of soap on the day before. So, if you think this scent doesn’t last or project, then we differ significantly…

That being said, Extrême is my least favorite of all the Idéal flankers that are currently in production. I don’t get the hype. I love the EDT and the EDP, and tolerate L’Intense well, but Extême is just too much for me. I pick up on a higher than usual concentration of amber-wood (aka super amber) chemicals - ambrocenide, ambermax, norlimbanol, cedramber, amber core, amber xtreme, etc… I suspect the latter given the name. I’m a part of a not a very small group of people who find it hard to be around some of these super ambers in large quantities. They make both me and my girlfriend sick and we have to leave the room. Because of my reaction to super amber I can’t enjoy fragrances like Instant Crush by Mancera and Blessed Baraka by Initio, which to my nose give off an unbearable sharp synthetic smell. Extrême is definitely much less offensive than those two fragrances, but I still had to wash it off after a couple of hours because it was too strong and intrusive for me. I love sweet fragrances, but contrary to what most others have said, this smells cheap and cloying to me. Using super ambers at extreme levels is definitely not the best way to simulate a sweet plum accord in my opinion… The plum in Biblotheque by Byredo smells superior and much more expensive by comparison. I know that Guerlain doesn’t use expensive ingredients in general, but this is the first time that I come across a creation of theirs that actually smells like it.

Have the black cap, silver sticker version.
It started out lukewarm for me because I felt the performance was really not that great.

I've been using this for the past 1 week now and seems like it has now started to open up a bit, I agree with some comments here talking about letting it maserate / mature a little bit after it's opened.

Now, I find it has a mildly boozy, sweet and fruity opening which is absolutely addictive; later transforms into a powdery, leathery, piped cherry tobacco drydown.

It's neither overpowering nor unnatural smelling at any point of its olfactory journey. It stays comforting yet sophisticated all along. Very very well blended. Appropriate for ages 30+ and it's unisex leaning a little masculine.

I own 50+ fragrances and this is the one that I'd like to wear for myself at home all the time, enough said.

Guerlain knows their art and craft well and offer it at real honest to goodness prices. I own the Dior Homme Parfum which is another masterpiece, costed me 4x as much but is unwearable on most occasions and if you go trigger happy with it, you're gonna have a bad time and apparently everyone around you too.

Guerlain l'homme extreme smells in the same vein - artsy and sophisticated, but is still quite versatile and forgiving to other's noses. I don't receive unsolicited compliments but I'd be asking shamelessly about this one if I'd have ever smelled it on someone else, atleast I think I would've.

I already have their L'homme cologne which I love for warmer months, it beats me why it took me so long to try out the rest of their line up. I'm sure I'm going to get every one of their l'homme line flankers over the coming years.

This was my first “winter fragrance”. I bought it three years ago, when it was launched, and have been using it ever since (when it's cold, of course), mostly for work.
At first, the cinnamon and pepper notes stand out on my skin, yielding an indisputably spicy fragrant halo. Shortly afterwards, the almond “softens” that opening into a warm, round and slightly sweet composition.
It's EXTREMELY potent (the "extreme" isn't there for no reason). So, believe it or not, I only use ONE spray, right on my chest.
Do you think this is not enough? Well then, I tell you it’s a compliment beast, even with that just one spray.
In the very first days of me wearing it at work, the ladies began to literally flock to the entrance of my office, telling me they were fascinated by how good that smell (AKA L’Homme Ideal Extreme) was.
Not enough of a compliment? So hear this one: another young lady once approached me and said “this fragrance you’re wearing must have cost thousands of dollars!” (actually, “reais”, our currency in Brazil).
That was only one spray, gents.
As a result, I only use about 15 ml a year (or less), and so my bottle will still easily last more 3 or 4 years.
That's wonderful, because I don't intend to stop using this beast anytime soon.
Last caveat: because it is very potent, use it only in winter. It will become unbearably cloying when it's not cold (that, too, I learnt from other people's feedback).

JF Dufour

Black cap - red label:

First time I bought a fragrance from Guerlain. I find that this house evokes class and refinement.

The smell: cherry (kind of) / leather / smokey (very slightly). I adore.

The longevity is good and the projection is moderate (but can be detect).

I have already received an unsolicited compliment (it was in the heat).

Perfect Shot

Great scent, i love it. It is very similar to the EDP though, minus the cherry, and a little bit extra of tobacco. Its like a mix of the woodyness of the EDT and the EDP with a touch of tobacco.
While undoubtedly a masterpiece, it is redundant in my opinion to own both with the EDP. So im not going to buy it because i already own EDT and EDP.

I think my favorite is still the EDT.

Eaatwood

Try this one for yourself, because I’m sure majority of you know the fragrance community is filled with contrarians and sassy males. It’s all subjective, but this fragrance isn’t cloying or jarringly sweet. It leans more masculine than unisex and nothing and mean absolutely nothing is animalistic about. No matter what supposed formulation you get it is blended to perfection. Every note gels together seamlessly while still being able to enjoy the transitions from the top notes to the base notes. The almond, plum, Tobacco and leather gives the extreme solid balance for me. It does lean to far with any particular note making this 9 out 10 offering and the best in the line imo. You’ll standout with this fragrance if worn appropriately

NoMilkToday

Totally unisex and yummy! ♥️

slim0121

This stuff is gorgeous! I can't stop sniffing this when I spray it on my forearm. It's captivating!

15+sprays

This fragrance is very unique, it lean extremely unisex. My first wear was a rollercoaster, online I heard of good performance for this fragrance( hence the name) but I ended up reapplying all day. In my opinion the name extreme is not for longevity but the extreme fruitiness of the fragrance, definitely more Than the edp which is already really fruity. The smell Is breathtaking, I have the red cap with red label bottle.

RottigrlNYC

Very nice masculine fragrance. I got it for hubby

KJV

Heard good stuff about this one, so I ordered a 10ml sample a month ago. Now that the decant is empty, here's my opinion.

Do I like the scent? Yes!
It smells complete, comforting, gentle, non-intrusive. The opening is sweet and fresh, the drydown is very nice, more serious than the opening. To me it's a spring scent, donno why people say it's for winter. It's way too light and fresh for colder days.

Performance? On my skin only few fragrances last long, the majority performs weak, this one is "ok".

Wife test? She's very picky but said a couple of times that this one smelled nice.

I really like it and I recommend it.

AMajeedQT

Sweet, smooth, warm spicy plums. The tobacco adds a beautiful soft woodiness that gives the depth & character.

Powdery smooth, lightly-leathery, slightly-fruity, mature, dark, & serious

It's similar to TF Plum Japonis. However, it's lighter & hence, more wearable. Would make a good date night wear.

Cool weather wear.

IamdrinkingBeer

A winter mass appeal fragrance done right...Guerlain just proves why they are the greatest to ever do it. Beautiful booziness is the first thing that comes to mind. This reminds me of Naxos only in the sense that it is really sweet, but it manages to make that sweetness so classy and sexy. The tobacco and plum here are a brilliant combo, and the almond at the top just helps the composition shine in its full glory. Beautiful fun release.

PS: The drydown on this...it's simply exquisite, unreal how gorgeous it is.

v4ggelakis

i’m very disappointed with this perfume…so hype for nothing …youtubers made me buy it and i regret it sooo much…don’t waste your money…i can’t smell anything not even a note no projection no silage !!!!

Icarel

Coke Cherry vibes and so similar (to my nose) to Cherry Smoke from Tom Ford, but with a better price tag, haha Nice to have but not a must; safe and has average performance for me. Stick to my skin but seems to project as I sniff it often when move. But oddly I feel the need to reapply every few hours if I want it to last all day. Maybe I got nose blinded overtime but I am a bit disappointed since its an "Extreme", but I don't mind, as I want to empty my bottle. Anyway, it's a lovely spicy, woody, and sweet fragrance, which gives cherry soda vibes :D

PS: I don't have the red bottle shown on this page, but a bottle with a black cap and Extreme written in Yellow, probably another more recent batch...
PS2: Intense and Extreme versions of perfumes tend to project always way less and stick rather to skin compared to EDP or even EDT. Which make sense since by definition, they are denser/heavier, so not light or airy.

dbe2000

My advice with this scent is: let it macerate/mature!!!

I own a new bottle with the black cap and silver label. There seems to be much talk about reformulation with this, so i would like to share my experience.

First when i got it, it had a powderiness which was strong and a bit strange, although i liked it. But after around 3-4 months of owning it, i noticed a drastic change.

The fragrance became WAY rounder and smelled better alltogether, erasing every doubt i ever had. Performance is also very good.

To me, the EDP, Intense and Extreme are all 10/10. Every tweak does its own thing in every fragrance, and i am extreme-ly in love!

FloridaFragLover

Extremely disappointed with the new reformulation. Didn't even know it was until I received it. The vintage is masterful but this is not. It's not a red scent anymore and smells really close to L'intense now. Dusty and dry. The leather or something familiar is amped up in this compared to how smooth the vintage was. Hence the new black cap vs the red cap, says everything you need to know. Thanks a lot Guerlain

Swiftnick

Just got a 2020 batch, some say this has been reformulated, don’t know about that but the one I have is a masterpiece nuff said, the reviewer before me says this is a lot like Tom fords lost cherry,in my opinion it is not..ps I also have the edp and love it and never thought it could be beaten but? I give the edp a 9 but the extreme is a 10 all day long..

poltergeist

I got the new bottle too. It's pretty good, smells very rich. I get a really rich honey/almond/ boozy smell from this from beginning to end. On it's own I feel like something is missing, so I tried layering it 1:1 with my Halloween Man X and I think they compliment each other quite nicely. Quite pleased with this revelation for now I will be wearing these two as a combo much more often than i would have worn them alone. I don't get no fruity smell from L'Homme Extreme by itself, only rich smelling honey/almond gourmand.

AnosmiaAnosognosia

Good stuff, just got it. New labels and caps, I kinda like the old look better, but I really like this juice.

willnpc40

Has this been reformulated? My label is silver, and the pictures I have seen its red. Can anyone comment on how do the two compare?

I have heard great things from other reviewers, especially from YouTube influencers, it has been overwhelmingly positive. Many have said it’s one of the greatest colognes ever created, I heard the word masterpiece alot and that they are cherishing their discontinued bottles.

However I did see a few reviews saying this is highly overrated….and I have to agree with them. For the price I paid ($100 for a 100ml) I am very unimpressed. Honestly I don’t think I would ever reach for this cologne….ever. It is extremely unisex. And there is nothing "extreme" about this. Please sample before buying!

I will give it a few more wearings but as of now I feel like I got duped. I will update my review if my opinion changes.

4/10 - Extremely overrated. Highly disappointed. Not even close to being worth the price.

Update: I sprayed it on paper and it does smell a little better, so maybe its my skin chemistry. However I still think its overrated and unisex. Also, not sure why its more classified as a night cologne, this smells like daytime only.

fallz

After being disappointed by ideal edp I wasn't expecting much from this however I ate my words. This is a true masterpiece fragrance and one that is highly underappreciated. The plum adds a nice balance to the tobacco and leather, making it slightly fruity while still masculine. Definitely give ideal extreme a try even if you didn't like the edp because this is very different from it.

Smellybutgood

Guerlain, Guerlain, Guerlain. What more needs to be said? There is good reason that this house has been around for nearly two centuries and it certainly isn't just because of brand recognition. It's because the perfumery is simply masterful.

With Extreme, I appreciate the opening a lot. The leather note, followed by tobacco (which I have been toying alot with lately), and that oh so familiar almond accord. It is a very well blended and put together fragrance that really isn't lacking in any areas.......Pink pepper, plum, a hint of citrus, and a cinnamon touch are some other notes that follow.

The plum does not stand out like the cherry does in the edp. It’s a bit of a tarty note that blends with the other ingredients making it sweeter as you progress. Consequently, I do like the EDP a bit more. It certainly has been a toss up for me between the two but I like the edp more and so does my wife.

In all honesty, it was that perfect blend of cherry, vanilla, almond, and the florals that brought me to my conclusion. Being that this is the Ideal Extreme review however, you honestly will not go wrong with either, it just depends on personal preference. Both are amazing.

Overall, extreme is a versatile fragrance that can be worn at the office or even a night out at the bar. Better suited for cold weather but can also be worn in moderately warm weather also. It's very mass appealing, so you will more than likely get a compliment or two if that's your thing.

I wouldn't consider this the masterpiece that edp is but nonetheless, still masterful perfumery.

9/10 in my eyes.

AJ73

Indeed, nothing special. Overhyped because it caries the Guerlain name but this is NOT a Guerlain.

chrysiasis

The tobacco/cinnamon add-ons make it a bit better than the EDP, but it's still overhyped as the other one. Nothing special. Casual, sweet, fruity, unisex, daily dumb-reach. Actually subtly reminds me of a higher quality CK One Shock.

Apache1830

Less gourmand, more tobacco/animalic than the EDP.

I prefer this version as I'm not a fruity scent kind of guy.

8/10

C_Fraydrances

The most animalic in the line if that's your thing.

aaronmy

This scent goes in a different direction than the EDP. It's more sweet and more intense. There's less smokiness and less mysteriousness than the EDP. But it's still very good. It's fruity in a masculine way and uses plum similar to how it's used in 1 Million Lucky. I love how this smells, but I don't see myself loving wearing this and I can't imagine myself being able to wear this consistently. I believe this might be overhyped because of the potential of discontinued production. To my nose, this isn't anything special.

r0gerg

Plum, cinnamon, almond and tobacco are the main players, just delicious. Perfect scent 10/10, sweet and fruty. Long lasting, beast mode scent. Be careful with the trigger, specially in summer. It can be very cloying if you go easy with the trigger, 2 sprays max. My son 10yr loves it and once used the perfume before school. When came back home 10 hours later was still projecting. Outstanding performance. One of my favorites of all time.

Schumi

To me this mostly smells like a mix of Armani Code Profumo and Spicebomb. If you like those, you're going to like this for sure.

Pgdipoto

Just another over-hyped, cloyingly over-decadent sweet spicy fragrance. Why are people so obsessed with these? Just too much. A fragrance that is popular because it's popular.

craigcarter644

First Impression Review: I picked up two 10ml decants of this one to test it out. I love the EDT and EDP. However, the first spray of this one gave me an off "fecal" note that my wife didn't pick up on. Perhaps it's my mind playing tricks on me. I'll let this one sit for a few days and come back to it with fresh skin just to be sure. On a positive note, I did enjoy the fruity tobacco and almond notes. So I'm hoping It was just my nose being weird.

ReminiScent

First Impression Review: This stuff is a standout from the line for me. Granted I only have the cologne and L’intense to compare it to. This is not even remotely close to either of those. If you’re comparing based on similarities you pick up on from almond then this also smells like Guess 1981 because of the plum and tobacco. But in reality it doesn’t. This is a sticky plum with a background of dry tobacco. I could see how this might not project or perform very well though. Rather soft from the beginning.

Dixieland Delight

Beautiful fragrance. Best of the line.

Sweet, plummy tobacco, ideal almond smooth DNA.

It's awesome.

Rating: 8.9

will_i_smell

I DESPERATELY wanted to love this. I mean, I have NEVER tried/ re-tried a single fragrance as many times as this. It just has this (for me) strange perfumey tinge that I can't get over. Possibly the heliotrope/almond combo. I just don't get the tobacco and plum combo I was hoping for. It's totally clouded in this very off putting sharpness. Shame. When I saw this was launching, I was just so very excited. I've tried decants from several places, thinking that I must have purchased a bad bottle. Same experience every time.

mikestro

Testing a decant of this and my assessment is that this is an awesome fragrance but it is too similar to the cologne flanker with a citrusy, creamy almond, that plummy cherry vibe, and slight woodiness. There is more depth here with the added notes of leather and tobacco grounding the fragrance. I have a modest collection and I tend to stay away from buying full bottles of redundant or very similar fragrances. If your like me and you already own either the cologne or the extreme, it's not worth owning both. If you want the same vibe found in the extreme version, layer the Cologne with another tobacco/leather fragrance.

jarrid_steel

I just got the repackaged version last week. I've given it two wearings so far and it's really quite good.
Unfortunately, the projection isn't quite as good as I was expecting with a fragrance called extreme but it isn't terrible.

It smells a lot like the original with an added tobacco note and extra sweetness from the plum. It's a really gorgeous scent. I'm not sure if I love it quite as much as the EDP but I do absolutely love it.

Longevity is quite good. I first sprayed it at 6:30am and it's now 5pm and I'm still catching wafts. Sillage and projection as I said above isn't what I was expecting but it wasn't a slouch by any means. It projected very well for the first 3-4 hours and the scent trails lasted for a while longer than that before they started to fade. It's now just a skin scent but when I move my head around, I can still pick it up, though pretty faintly.

Scent : 9.5/10
Projection : 7.5/10
Sillage : 8/10

It's definitely better suited for colder weather days because even though it wasn't monstrous in projection, it's still a pretty dense and beefy scent that cuts through the cold and may become cloying in a warmer climate. So, late fall, early spring and winter would be the best times to wear it.

Overall, after waiting for so long to finally land a bottle (it's really NOT easy to find in Canada), I'm super stoked to add this to my collection. I do think I prefer the EDP but we'll see if this one grows on me as I wear it more. It's a really great fragrance. I can't comment about the pre-repackaging version but I would for sure love to get a sample or even a bottle so I could compare the old vs. the new side by side.

Gabistrate

Do not pay any attention to VERSION 0808 and his comment ! Notino also is a very serious and reputable saler . What this guy doesn’t know is that the entire L’ HOMME IDEAL collection just got a rebranding-repackiging campaign , so that’s why the box and the label of EXTREME is different now .

BillySTAR

Blind buy worthy. But keep in mind that this is not a long-lasting perfume. Also very plum heavy and a little bit "pointy" imo. Keep your skin moistened before applying because it's more of a winter scent.

Chabaccano

Me gusta la fragancia se huele rico y con calidad, pero esperaba mejor desempeño por la palabra extreme, siento que en mi piel no pasa de las 4 horas y solo si me acerco a olerla en mi piel.

Invasionbg

Because thia is not widely available in US the YouTubers are not talking about this one, they rather talk about the edp.
Make sense because most of their viewers are from the states. So this is how honest their reviews are. Not looking for anything else but profit from affiliate links.

mk61hacker

Nice. Border line generic... Better than Le Male Le Parfum that it is competing with. Performance is rather weak for EDP (extreme).

Scent of gentleman

Red cap version. One word: "Wonderful!" Smells elegant and expensive, with decent LSP. This is a successful blind buy for me.

Mrbasak

It is suitable for Autumn and Winter months, but it smells more meaningful when I wear a wool jacket and turtleneck sweater in Winter, it is officially a perfume produced for jackets and sweaters. Very classy and different, it will always be among my alternatives.. Better over 30 years old..

TupacAmaruShakur

I'm not a fan of the edp, it's to boring, extreme is so much better. More charisma, more attitude and it smells better.

Made by Kouros

I'm reviewing the new flacon with black cap and silver label:

This to me is a wonderful tobacco leaf fragrance, with plum and leather, almond and spice on the side. The tobacco is rich and brown, with a vanillaesque edge, the plum is like a non-sweet cherry. This is now not a sweet fragrance at all, which for me is fantastic. L'HI Extreme is a very, very good winter fragrance, smells high quality, classy, masculine, mature. Wonderful scent bubble without filling up the whole room. The signature almond is subdued here, and this is distinctly different enough from the rest of the (wonderful) L'HI line. I'm very happy to have purchased this.

csotranme

I think I like this one the most from the L'homme Ideal line.

Compared to the others it's less heavy on Rose.
I smell cinnamon, tobacco and a topnote of bergamot.

Very suitable for fall/winter. Very warming scent and less offending compared to the others in this DNA.

Longevity I do expect it to last long. Sillage is probably above average like the entire DNA.

8/10

FragStar

Opens with a very cherry like plum, almond and soft tobacco. The cinnamon is lurking in the background and the heliotrope adds a distant floral accord. Extremely sweet at this stage, but much better than the EDP. The marzipan takes over in the dry down and is very strong. The fragrance is overly fruity in the initial spray, and overly sweet in the dry down and feels unbalanced and is more like a cheap alcoholic drink. A near miss unfortunately.

OperatorDirge

With all the hype surrounding this, and how difficult it is to get in the USA, I didn't hesitate to snatch up a 100ml bottle for $92 when it popped up for sale one day out of the blue on Amazon. The seller had an okay, but not stellar rep, so I admit that I may have taken a gamble.

Holy crap, am I glad I did. This is extremely high-quality stuff.

From the top, I get a clean leather scent, along with almond to smooth it over. The plum doesn't really have a distinct scent for me, but I know it's there, because it lends a subtly sweet booziness that wraps around the other notes. In the middle, the tobacco comes to life. It comes across to me as a fresher, smoother, less-smoky kind of tobacco, so it isn't as "dark" as a kind of pipe tobacco you'd get from something like Replica Jazz Club, or Bvlgari Man in Black. That tobacco becomes the dominant note in the far dry-down for me, along with the cinnamon to give it a little bit of spice. By then, the leather and plum has faded, and it's all tobacco and light cinnamon for me, with maybe a faint earthiness from the patchouli. Very cozy, yet very masculine, in that bathrobe-wearing, smoking a cigar and sipping a bourbon by the fire kind of way.

My bottle seems to be the newer style, with the black cap and updated label. Sadly, I don't have an original bottle to compare, but I get soft projection with mediocre longevity, about 5-6 hours with four sprays to the neck. But spraying twice in each spot yields great results, giving it a mild projection and 10-12 hours. So I would just double up on application and you'll be GTG. It's warm, spicy, and cozy, but also light enough that you're not going to choke people out with generous spraying.

I have this one, and the OG L'Homme Ideal EDT. I really like both, but I think the Extreme edges out the EDT for me. I'll have to get a sample of the EDP sometime. If you're outside Europe and can somehow get the Extreme at a good price, considering how much of a unicorn it is? I'd jump on it.

jihado86

I tested this in comparison with the EDP version today.
I sprayed Extreme on my left wrist, EDP on my right.
The EDP projected very strong the moment the girl working in the shop sprayed it on me, I didn't even need to sniff it.
The Extreme was weaker, I needed to sniff.
Later the Extreme faded completely to my nose, but when I told my colleagues to give their opinions, they could smell it, they told me the EDP was stronger but the scent itself was divisive : females liked the Extreme, while males liked the EDP more, including me.

I loved the EDP for its pronounced sweetness especially the cherry, I expected it to be the case with my female colleagues since they tend to love sweeter scents.

Now after 6 hours I can smell the Extreme on my wrist, but still not projecting or pronounced.

discreescent

Less sweet than the Parfum and more leather&tobacco in the dry down.Decent performance like most Guerlains, close to skin not much sillage.Modern, manly, fresh spicy boozy leather tobacco.Quality is in the air for sure.Bit of a too much dry tobacco in the dry down, but this is Not a boys, boys scent.

Lmiguel

Just bought it a couple of weeks ago. What a surprise ! It is an exquisite soft leather fragance, never heard of it or smelled before. Good longevity, sillage is moderate. Just noticed a new batch and new presentation is available, with a reformulated juice. Smelled it and is different in several ways. Went to the parfume store to look for other Prev 2022 batches but only found a 50ml 2021-02 batch bottle. Still Looking for other 100ml 2020 or 2021 batches before they dissapear.
Many comments refer the need to identify the fragance by Name-Lot number due to evident differences due to reformulation, bottle, etc. Fragantica should take note of this

Tshahb

This is an exquisite fragrance, leather daddy in a bottle, and I don't mean that in a fetish way, I mean like your dad in a fine leather jacket back when you were young, or at least some way more stylish version thereof.

This must be what Burt Reynolds smells of.

It's not macho though, just classic suave moustachio'd charm.

I feel too young to be wearing it (I'm 42).

Stinkybatty

very sweet opening. Dry down less sweet more tobacco and wood/leather. Very good and long lasting

DrDohm

MikeyAkinty

Only to be used in chilly environments or when the weather is cold. Do not waste your time using this in any environment that has the slightest of heat, you'll choke yourself. Well, if you spray just once or twice you might survive it. This juice screams when it enters the room but it does not intend to (it does not fill the room). More like it's announcing itself saying, "here I am" which makes people turn their necks to gaze at you till you get to your seat. It's that mesmerizing. It screams I've got money too. You don't have to dress this up, you can rock this casually too but it's gotta be a different kinda casual outfit than the type you're used to having on. More like a Chelsea/chukka boots kinda casual, not the Jordans type LOL.
It lasts more than 24 hours on me. It does not sit close to my skin at all, it just keeps projecting. This review is based on the Red cap, not the Black one. I'll definitely buy more of this no matter the price.
When you wear this, you would not care if you get compliments or not, you'll feel super fly.

kipsu

Not super into fragrances, but I blind-bought this along the EDP - This one was on a 44% discount.
I don't know what plum smells like, but I don't get any fruity vibes from this. It mostly feels like a mix of cinnamon, and this dark but fresh tobacco, which I like. Leans more night-time use on my skin, though I'll have to try wearing this properly out.
Longevity is good, can still smell it on my wrist after 6 hours, although the tobacco note is almost gone. Projection is alright, about 1-2 feet for the first 2-3 hours. Drydown is pretty similar to the EDP aswell, although that has the cherry note instead of the cinnamon/slight hint of tobacco.

This, and the EDP are super smooth to my nose, which might be because it's well blended? Again, i'm still new to this scene.
Would I buy this again? I would for sure. This is my "darkie" in my collection, and it's still magnetizing me, although I still prefer the EDP.

Craggy86

I recently picked this up from Notino at a great price. The scent is gorgeous. I sprayed it 4 times around my neck (first time testing) longevity and projection not to good. Second time testing I went for 10 sprays amazing longevity and projection. Spray more you get better performance, ground breaking

Mrbasak

kapalı alan yerine, sokakta kullanmanızı tavsiye ederim. Badem ve kiraz kokusu pek çekici gelmedi. Benim için normal koku.

Dixieland Delight

Amazing tobacco and plum flanker to the original, which I love. Just beautiful. Lasts for 15 hours on skin.

PeetCom

This is very similar than the EDT, in the end it has given some tobacco. Very complex creation for cold or casual times.
Smell: 👍👍👍
Projection: 👍👍👍
Overall:8:10

This thing needs to macerate or I just got a fake bottle. Great scent. Terrible longevity and performance. I have never been so disappointed. YouTube frag channels kept hyping this for no reason. I really hope that the performance improves once it macerates.

I've got some intermediate version of the presentation - red sticker like in original and a black cap like in new presentation (September 2021). Performance longevity wise is really good. After 8 hours I can still smell it on myself. By reading comments below I am starting to dread the day when I'm going to need to buy a new bottle. The scent is just gorgeous!

yacoco

Perfect

ZoobzFrags

@KingVicious Thanks for sharing this useful information. I am hoping with time it will macerate and perform a little better. I was suspecting they reformulated it. Damn shame. But it should improve some with time as it macerates. I noticed that with Sacred by Louis Cardin. It's performing a lot better than when I first bought it 10 months ago.

KingVicious

Just got the new style bottle with the black cap 2022 batch and I can say for sure that they reformulated it. I also have a 50ml 2020 batch with the red sticker and red cap and the plum is more prominent and it's more rich and powerfully than the new bottle. I sprayed each batch on both hands and the trace of oils from the new just disappeared after 2 minutes. The older batch has more oils in it ,because the oily spot just stay for longer. Shame ... Damn shame. Didn't expect that from Guerlain. Also want to let y'all know that I bought both bottles from Notino, so... The new bottle can't be fake !

jlog23

This is very good. Plummy almond tobacco, but a very light tobacco flavor. I expected this to be a much ‘darker’ scent; I don’t get much leather here. I’m not mad about that though as this still smells fantastic. Projection and longevity are just average and a notch below the EDP. This has more character than the EDP, but I still prefer the EDP overall. An excellent fragrance I look forward to wearing as the weather starts to cool off.

Samuel_rsj

Waw i like this a lot. It’s definitely the most extreme from the line, as in hardest to pull off. Smells like fruit, tobacco and leather.

Good for cold weather or evenings.

alexmare3

to my nose this is the designer version of parfums de marly oajan. more airy and wearable than oajan. beautiful scent. 7-8hrs of longevity with moderate projection

Manalm71

To me this is a beast performer. I've read that it's very weak, but not on my skin! I sprayed five times which was way too much. A colleague mentioned that it smelled like apple jam in the room where I was sitting. And he was not very close to me. So great sillage on this one. I then tried to wash it of, but it wouldn't come of. Still going strong after six hours... Tomorrow I will only use two sprays. The smell is great by the way.

ds23pallas

I do like this, but it reminds me a lot of Joop Homme, which is a lot cheaper so I would go with that if I want that sweet cherry scent.

Oudian

One of the best fragrances I have ever owned!! The scent is divine defining luxury and elegance! The longevity is great too!! Projection however is minimal however with decent Sillage; sits fairly close to the skin after an hour.
It is for that special someone for private & privileged whiffs!!
Or if you are like me to wear it everyday on my hand just to sniff the goodness!!
Would be an easy 10/10 if it projected well, but I'll still give this a 9/10.

pabekam

I love this on, it smells like cinnamon and plum. Perfect for the Winter season

ZoobzFrags

@AgentStrong I have the exact same issue and it really bums me out cuz I had to order it from overseas too. Ironically the EDT is in fact the strongest performing in this line! And is also the cheapest. I don't get it.

clintjr82

Smells awesome. All age groups of females will love it. This is what the harsh original EDP should have been, extreme is miles better. Solid longevity, that goes into a skin scent. This is smooth. I received nothing but good feedback. I bought a bottle for my collection.

ZoobzFrags

I am a little bummed out by this. I don't know if it's my skin or the fact that my cologne is too new, july 22 batch, and needs time to macerate but nobody could smell me at work 30 minutes after 10 sprays. I had to ask folks how they liked it. I love the scent and to my nose it's more of a toffee/caramel vibe than a fruity smell on the dry down but I don't know what's going on with the longevity and projection. I am going to let it sit and hope that it gets better.
Update: This fragrance should be renamed to "Extrêmement Faible" or extremely weak in French. This is a great scent with HORRIBLE performance. This was the biggest waste of money I ever made on a fragrance. I am not going to wait 5 years for this thing to start working like it's supposed to. I am more than happy to sell you my 2 bottles. 1 used at 85 percent and the other one unopened and sealed. Message me if interested. This whole line is ass backwards with the edt being the strongest and the edp being OK performance wise and the extreme being the weakest. Only the French can pull this off. Amazing.

Invasionbg

I can see people complaining about the performance.
I had a poor performance first time when I worn it. However few wearing afterwards and I noticed that this actually sticks to your skin and especially to your clothes for quite a whole day. The performance is just moderate. So perfect. Not too loud but not too bad either.
Very classy, easy going but kinda complex scent. Professional but also outgoing. Interesting and quite unique smell. Love it. 5/5 from me ☺️

3NO7

Smells really good. Very similar to the original edt but a little sweeter and a little spicier.

Not super powerful, but very pleasant and friendly, but professional smelling too.

Would work for a date but could also work in the office.

The ideal man epitomized.

sholas1023

sexy asf..

Iris_Spirit

Can't stop smelling the bottle...such a nice scent! I even wear it during summer time with high temperatures.

aroutis

Good silage, and for those complaining bout projection, just spray a bit more.
Using the one with the black cap, the smell of this thing is intoxicating as ... (you get the drift lol).

shoeless_joe23

I have to admit my opinion about this fragrance was IDENTICAL to the one below me by Agent Strong. I would have to douse myself in it just to even smell anything. So for a long time I could not for the life of me understand the hype revolving around this perfume. Until we’ll over a year passed and I found myself seeing it yet again on some YouTube top 10 list that I got up immediately then to chase my bottle and give it another test spray on top of both hands few hours before work.
Well this time around I was not necessarily blown away by it but for sure this time I could certainly smell it more pronounced then first test year ago. So this has begun to macerate rather nicely.
Fast forward to heading to work in the evening and it was rather windy going in and a co worker outside who normally is not at all into fragrance asked me “What are you wearing?! That smells really good!!!”
He would not let up on it and was so curious he immediately looked it up on his phone to see if he could track down a bottle of it. And as of now it has become one of my favorite in my growing collection. And I have two bottles of the red capped early batches. Not sure how the newer bottles smell in comparison but I have ti say that I am sold on this one now. Took some time but although it definitely is not a projection monster it definitely is a pleasant fragrance and those that get in your scent bubble will notice.

Agent Strong

A pleasant-enough scent with zero projection. 6-7 sprays, and I smell absolutely nothing, nor does my husband. You will need to put the tip of your nose on your skin to experience this one. A $20 Jacques Bogart performs leagues ahead of this, and at 1/6th the price. If this is "extreme", I can't even imagine how weak the original must be.

dmbfaninmass

This is very much a first impression. I just took receipt of this in a delivery and I must say I’m a bit taken aback. Not in a bad way. After I’d placed the order, part of me was very excited as I’d been waiting some time to see this pop up on a discounter website and was stoked to finally order it and finally get the last and hardest (in my experience) to find L’Homme Ideal flanker in the lineup as this (as far as I know) had not been released into the US market. The other part of me was thinking with all the other L’Homme Ideal in my collection, it may be highly redundant - or at least redundant with L’Homme Ideal, l’Intense, and the edp. My nose’s first impression is that while those 3 share quite a bit of similarity, this one stands out as not being as close. Shared DNA, absolutely. I was expecting this to be more similar to those, but I’m happy to report my nose finds it to not be as close as I had anticipated and I’m pretty happy about that. Stunning juice. Can’t wait to spend more time with this one when the weather cools down some!

Savatage79

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance, just clean, classy, sexy, really really nice.. This reminds me of fall in a bottle. The cinnamon, leather and tobacco make for an amazing combination.. Just a beautiful release all around. This is one to keep!

teacherclev

Wow! I'm a female and I purchased this because of all of the hype and I absolutely love it. I'm not sure why this is categorized as a male fragrance. To my nose this is absolutely unisex. So, if you're a woman and what to try this out, please do so because this is gorgeous.

TafsirulHaque

Amazing gorgeous Sexy scent. Its very suitable for winter but this one is stronger than the EDP and it smells so good I cant help but wear this in summer nights.

dcjimr

Love this one as much as the L'Homme Ideal EDP. This is a bit spicier and has more leather, but they do share a DNA. The sillage on this is gorgeous. It's 40 degrees today, so I'm wearing it in the air conditioning... it might be a bit too much for outside wear in high heat.

FreshFan

This really is such a good fragrance from Guerlain. I don't feel the need to buy something like the more expensive Tonka Imperiale because first the Ideal EDP and now this Extreme version are just so good. I have my bottle for 2 years now, but didn't use it much until recently. For me it's the combination of masculine and fruity notes that are so well balanced together creating something so beautiful! I like that it has a bit more character than the EDP.

smellmyfingers

Fantastic scent. Delicious. Doesn't really project, as in moderate projection at best. I can smell it for a long time and that's just fine with me. As others have said, sometimes it's nice to have a closer scent that lasts a while.

Very different from the EDP, which I would honestly wear more. I would keep a decant of this and maybe use for a nice dinner out in the fall/winter, or maybe a dressed up event where I don't want to be too loud, but still smell amazing.

yaliyu01

Love it! Love it! Love it! Sadly it doesn't project at all, and quickly becomes a skin scent. I bought the 100ml, but i had to get rid of it. In the future I would buy a smaller volume simply to enjoy it for me... especially considering the ridiculous price i had to pay given it's rarity at the moment.

Daniel Andonov

WoW... Absolutely WoW🥰
I love this 💯 %
Incredibly beautiful scent, I am fascinated! I have Guerlain L'homme Ideal EUP, which is a wonderful, warm, loving, with a beautiful scent, but definitely Extreme version is more passionate, sexy, alluring and insatiable!🥰🥰🥰
10/10 for sure! ❤️

RottigrlNYC

I too got a 10ml decant, I wanted to see what the hype was all about…lol I’m always a sucker for hyped up fragrances, I wanna know what the hoopla is all about …lol so I sprayed it on hoping I would at least like it or Id have to pass another fragrance on to my hubby who could care less, he’s just happy he has been given something nice to spray on before going to work…lol
Anyway I know this is a mens fragrance, hence the l’homme name but oh my goodness I absolutely love it on my skin. Very nice fragrance but it reminds me of another fragrance I’ve smelt before and maybe even own . It’s driving me nuts that I can’t put my finger on which one it reminds me of, it’s like 90% similar at least in the beginning. The dry down is different, L’Homme is much nicer. I love that I do get most of the notes listed. Most definitely the almond, bergamot and plum covered in cinnamon. Soooo good. How is this labeled for men? So unfair. It’s so beautiful on my skin and as it’s unfolding, it just gets better and better as if that’s possible . Great, just great, now I have to hunt down a full bottle. One for me and one for hubby coz I want my dear one to smell like this beautiful fragrance. Wow, as I write this its gotten even more amazing. This is not full bottle worthy, it’s full GALLON worthy….lol
It’s a 10/10 for me. As if there was any doubt…lol

Oudh Would

One of the first fragrances I bought after discovering this new passion. I find it’s a nice sweet unisex fragrance with an interesting plum and tobacco note which sets it apart from most designer sweet scents.

I get a solid 3-4 hour wear out of it if I apply 4 sprays.

Interestingly depending on the weather and my level of activity I do or do not smell the tobacco note. I distinctly remember hot summer days where the tobacco was very present, whilst during winter I mostly get plum from it. When the tobacco does come through, it’s a glorious dry-down.

Now that I’ve tried many different kinds of fragrances I’m not sure if I would buy this again, but that is probably more due to my newfound preference for freshies.

new version with the black cap

At first I didn't like it, it was just OK but after couple of uses I end up liking it :)

I'll give it a 7/10 with good performance but not beast mode,
Note: I tried it on some people and they said its just OK, so try to sample it first before buying :)

Bokitza

Wow!
First sniff off the atomizer ( i got a 10ml sample ) - smelled to me like latex doctors gloves and sort of off putting, i'm now guessing it might be the almond note but it's just a tinge overpowering for my nose, i smell a similar thing when i sprayed it on but then it split into 3-4 more things.

10 minutes on the skin - Smells sort of herbaceous and very much like a green plum ( coming from a place where plums are plentiful it smells more like a young green plum rather then a juicy big squishy plum ) and that after taste you get after eating too many almonds ( if you know what i mean ) sort of bitter but creamy.

I think this parfume is very well done and very complex, i can't wait for the dry down as more things start popping in as i smell it more and more. Very cool scent and i believe it can work for a lot of people , be advised this doesn't have a sweetness you are used to, the cloying one million or invictus or something like that, it's rather a fresh sweetness if sweet at all.
I am actually looking forward to trying this multiple times and eventually getting a bottle i think however this is a 5/10 in terms of versatility ( my opinion )

Scent profile - 10 it's the first time i smell something like this and i smelled quite a few fragrances so it gets a 10 from me

SAMPSODX

BLACK LID EDITION!

I noticed someone asked for a review, so here it is.

Main note I get is a dark peppery plum. Slight hints of tobacco and almond, but hard to pin point notes past the plum.

First spray on my wrist the day before and I thought this was a skin scent. How wrong was I?!

My only complaint is this in now hard to find, so the price has gone up.

Opening 9/10
Projection 9/10
Scent 9/10
Longevity 8/10
Price 6/10

Just received this bad boy! Had to order it from the Guerlain Boutique in Paris since it’s not available anywhere in North America. I wish Guerlain sold this in more places, as it’s GORGEOUS.

First of all, if you’re a fan of the original EDT, then you’ll LOVE the Extreme version. Smells a lot like the original, but darker and richer if that makes sense. You can tell it is spicier with the cinnamon note. The leather is more noticeable. It dries down to a soft tobacco, and the leather pretty much disappears.

It does not project, so you’re out of luck if you’re looking for a beast mode fragrance. It’s similar to Dolce and Gabbana’s The One for Men EDT in terms of projection. Close to the skin scent, but there’s nothing wrong with that if you want that special someone to get a waft of you when they come in for a hug. You might be able to get some level of projection on a hot summer night out though.

If you can’t find the Extreme version and you want something similar, then get the EDT original. This smells nothing like the EDP, but that one is a good alternative if you want something that projects more.

I’ve always described the L’Homme Ideal line as a smooth, sweet talking, charming man, who walks into a room and everyone is coming to greet him as he charismatically small talks everyone there. But little do they know that deep down he has an edge to him, does what he wants like a bad boy would, but still nice enough that you would want to present him to all your friends and family.

The EDP version is his brother who wears a classy suede jacket and is even more of a dashing charmer. Not a bad boy, but he does get his point across no matter the situation. People crowd around him just to hear him speak.

As for the Extreme version, this is the brother that used to be a bad boy and has matured out of that phase. They have a rugged but handsome exterior. They wear a leather jacket, but they always check their coat in with the attendants and you see he’s well dressed. Intimidating to those that don’t know him, but it’s appealing to those who want to be his friend. After getting to know him, you realize that you shouldn’t judge a book by their cover, and realize he’s actually a big softy. The type of brother who can chase away the bullies with a look, but is really the most caring of the family.

Edit: Don’t be fooled by initial dry down. The leather fades and then reveals a subtle tobacco that doesn’t project. HOWEVER, 3 hours in, and it smells 100% like the EDT. Tobacco is gone. It’s like the EDT. Not complaining because it’s still a beautiful scent.

Edit 2: Going 7 hours now. Still on my arm and smells great! It is very misleading in how the scent evolves, as the fact that it doesn’t project in the early phase doesn’t mean it isn’t on your skin or will last. This lasts! And still just as gorgeous all these hours in.

jigga7

@Jules1848, was it the magnetic or non-magnetic cap ??

Jules1848

I agree with Spicy89. Sprayed on my wrist and within 30 mins it was gone with zero projection.
Worst performing fragrance I've ever purchased.
At least I managed to sell it sell it on ebay for more than I payed for it.
🙂

Ford4630

Can someone please post a review of the newer version with the black cap? Thanks!

Sincerely hoping it hasn’t been reformulated 🤞

Spicy89

Extreme.....really???

I get very weak sillage and almost no projection. Within the first hour it sits very close to the skin.

It's a lovely scent, sweet nutty creamy. Soft tobacco. Unisex.

ozgurakpinar

This doesn’t have cherry in the notes? All I smell is cherry mostly. I am surprised

Digam

This is a love for me even more than the edp version

Cologne Cathedral

As soon as that cloying base uppercutted my airways, I knew I was in for a long ride.
Part of the base appears to be similar to mugler pure havane to my nose (which I similarly find to be overpowering at times) and so if you like that, this scent may be a sample.

The slightly spiced plum is front and centre for me- which could be interesting and intriguing for some.

I must also add that almonds are enemies with my smelling receptors, so this probably adds to the unpleasant experience that I had with this frag.

Overall, I would recommend for the fans of mugler (particularly the pure line), strong scents, plum scents or almond scents (e.g. pdm pegasus or tf f*cking fabulous )

siUK

@SAMPSODX Not sure where you are but still selling in a number of online shops here in the UK.

@Mvcarreon - No difference in fragrance just different packaging.

Lovely scent and imho....backup bottle worthy! ;)

SAMPSODX

Is this discontinued? Can’t find this anywhere!

Mvcarreon

Has anyone tried the one with the black cap instead of red? Are there any differences with the original bottle design?

I used to own one with the red cap but the only available ones at the moment have a black cap

jmhoke

This is a really special scent and great addition to the line. Tough to find but well worth it. Love it!

Caldrumr

It's okay.
The whole line is pretty good, but in comparison with some of the others, this one pales a bit.
This is sort of like a lighter, more uninteresting version of the EDP.
Perhaps the title "Extreme" misled me, but it's not what I was expecting.
Still smooth and very well blended, but just not as good as the EDP, which I think is the superior choice.

TobaccoSense

This scent is extreme! It's extremely GOOD! It's well blended, well balanced, it evolves and offers depth, all the while in keeping with the original L'homme Ideal DNA. The plum isn't too sweet, the tobacco is spicy enough but not overpowering. This scent offers it all. Good Silliage, Good Projection, People pleasing, versatile, Strong enough to wear in colder weather but sweet and pleasing enough to be warn in milder weather. Dress this up or down. Full Bottle worthy ALL DAY! Dare I say MASTERPIECE! Dry down reminds me of Atkinsons Oud Save the King

Venusia

Niche-like unisex concoction, almond spiced fine leather wraping up a plum pie with cinnamon. In the dry-down powdery tobacco with a hint of patchouli. Wonderful!

Scootie

The L'Homme Idéal series is great, but to my nose the Extreme has some very offputting note (it might be the mix of tobacco and animalic note). I can‘t describe exactly, but this note overshines the fruityness competely to me.

Therefore, I regret blindbuying this one.

Mochemil

9/10
Classy and classic.
This is the best fragrance I've ever tried.
The only reason I cannot give a 10/10 is the average sillage.
But still, a true masterpiece from Guerlain!

Ksj_

This may of not placed first in the fragrance of the year for 2021 race on Fragrantica. But it had a better thumbs up vs down differential ratio than all of the fragrances that placed before it. In my opinion, this is the true winner. Congratulations Guerlain! Another stellar fragrance and true masterpiece.

fromthebayandaroundtheway

L'Homme Ideal Extreme is easily the best of the line. This fragrance achieves the goal of being youthful yet classic at the same time. Plum, tobacco and almonds blended to perfection and it doesn't feel heavy or static. This is my new go to boozy, holiday tobacco fragrance. L'Homme Ideal Extreme is a comforting scent that is fun to wear. This is the heavy button up sweater scent that you cannot wait to spray, when the first cool winds of autumn and winter blow through town. I love L'Homme Ideal Extreme because it dresses up or down and can only add class and refinement to what you wear.
This composition is so well balanced. Never too spicy never too boozy and just the right amount leather gives this scent it's perfect base. When to wear? All winter and autumn! Especially when stepping out with friends or out on a date. This is for the 25 and up crowd and could easily be worn in the office (but don't waste it there). Give L'Homme Ideal Extreme a few sprays when frost is on the rooftops, but warmth and good times are waiting for you behind glowing, fogged windows under dark winter skies.

Invasionbg

I don't give 5 very often, but when something is good....
I recently ordered this one, and I put it straight away into my winter rotation. Perfect for dressed up day or night out. Gentlemenly and classy with addictive scent trail. Put this one and you will definitely not smell like an avarage Joe.

csotranme

I have to say this is the best version of L'homme Ideal so far. Especially the most likable/forgiving one.

I own EdT, EdP and just bought Extrême.
EdT and especially EdP is very heavy on leather and cherry notes.
Extrême is more subtle but still a bit fresh, warming, gourmand, a bit soapy, Christmas like scent.

I'm always a bit afraid to wear the EdP which I liked most before Extrême because it can be really harsh to other people and filling a room.
With Extrême I think I can use it more frequently and perhaps even to the office.

It still has the distinctive classy and unique scent and does right to the DNA in any way.
I think it's the most refined version so far and more likable which means easier to wear/pull off.

So far 8.5/10.
Can't say anything about sillage and longevity yet.

Edit: after 1h it's actually very similar to Lolita limpicka 😅 it only has a bit more of a "pinch" to it, still more refined and probably way better lasting.

Invasionbg

Was little bit disappointed when first tried it. Expected to smell in a different way - more tense, thicker, and with more tobacco.

However this grew on me. It smells different than most of the fragrances on the market. It's sweet but very masculine, clean, alluring, slightly powdery but not as the original. What I can get from it is strong almond, plum, heliotrope, leather and cinnamon and cedar underneath.
Very very unfortunate, almost no tobacco. 😑

It last good amount of time when I go a bit heavier on the trigger. I use L'homme Ideal shower gel as well so it blends together and last even longer when apply it straight after the shower.

I see this one as an update of the original one. However if you already have the original, buying this one isn't worth it.

Mina Abdo

Christmas-y spicy tobacco. Masterpiece.

NomadResting

L’Homme Idéal Extrême est un parfum boisé oriental qui vous permettra de rester un homme extrêmement talentueux, pour tout.

orangelips11

This fragrance are beautiful and masculine at the same time, the open is sweet and nutty, and its projection very good,
my experience it can sillage around 4 hours, and the dry down is a dry tobacco taste very rough and manly, longevity is great around 6 to 8 hrs, but I think this fragrance is more mature than to the youth, definitely its a cold weather fragrance.

overall 8.5/10

Kru23

Impossible to find here in the states.

smokeorfire

Revisiting this now that's the weather has turned cold. I don't get much tobacco here at all. To me it opens with a boozy sour plum. Maybe the cinnamon is just tickling by nose and lending to a boozy note? These recede in the drydown and i get a tannic leather. Projection and longevity are good but nothing spectacular. Overall this is only a like. I much prefer the EDP though it could be cloyingly sweet at times. That was like wearing a soft suede coat and Extreme is like wearing a leather jacket. Tones down the sweetness and tries adding some dark more masculine touches. At the current prices there are much better alternatives but it drops to pre pandemic prices, $40/100ml then it will be a steal.

Eniv

I own many fragrances such as Amouage Interlude man, Sauvage Elixir, Tom Ford Black Orchid, Versace Eros Flame and much more, but this L’HOMME Ideal Extreme… Everytime I spray this on myself I take a moment to appreciate the opening scent it has, while giving me confidence at the same time, the smell for me is unique and I feel I could wear it every day of the year unlike perfumes such as Amouage Interlude man that I could kill an entire room with just a few sprays!

I’m almost finished with the bottle and I can’t wait to go and re-order another 100ml bottle for another year or two of greatness! Totally worth it and I recommend you try it if you haven’t, spray on yourself and wear it through out the day and buy it after.

lullemans72

So I got this fragrance at the end of 2020, just when it got voted as best fragrance of 2020 and the Youtube community had just started hyping it up. Really happy I got my 100ml bottle from Fragrance X before it started getting out of stock. You can still get them from the Guerlain website in my country (Japan), but it's the 50 ml version only, and it's expensive.

Anyway, it smells great. The plumb creates a nice bit of sweetness, but not too much. Then you have the tobacco and cinamon which create a really nice, soothing yet masculine scent.

Performance: Last time I wore this was during the winter last year. I think I did maybe 4 sprays on my skin (neck area) and 1 spray on my clothes. Let me tell you what: around 9 PM when I was on my way home from work, I bumped into some work colleagues, and some of them said they could smell the scent on me as I walked past them, commenting on how nuclear the performance was. And that was 12 hours after applying it that day. I'm guessing it was more the sillage than the actual projection that did that.

Ksj_

The Ideal line is pure mastery, and this one is right there at the top of the line. I get this beautiful cherry, spicy combination. This definitely reminds me of Christmas and the Holidays. This is getting a solid 10/10 and it is double bottle worthy.

I love it.

alvinzm

Of all L'Homme Ideal line, my rank would be like this:
1. EDP (rich, sweet, alluring and more unisex)
2. Extreme (rich, intense, and more masculine)
3. Cologne (summer greatness)
4. L'Intense (smoky, strong, and quite spicy)
5. Cool (another summer greatness, but minty)
6. EDT and Sport

With that being said, I absolutely love the whole L'Homme Ideal line from Guerlain. There is literally nothing in this line that is worse than being great to me. The quality and the twist of every single one of fragrances in this line is just incredible and makes them unique when compared to many of those fragrances out there.

I still think the EDP is the best one out of the seven, with the Extreme being a close second.

L'Homme Ideal Extreme is like combination of the EDT and EDP (with more emphasis on the EDT), but has that richness of plum, cinnamon, and tobacco. It is similar to the EDT, but this one is still a lot better to me, just because of the complexity.

A successful blind buy indeed, even though it is super rare and I got it for a very high price (for a Guerlain that was supposed to be a lot cheaper). I'm still happy because of the quality though.

Perfumistadecra

An rich and intense, gourmand style fragance.
The plum note and the tobacco turns this fragance into something very special and also very balanced.
Amazing.

Renzo123

Smell like sweet tobacco to me. Smell very nice, but i feel it has poor proyeccion and longevity. It may be reformulated, i have september 2021 batch code.

Elite Gentleman

Classy winter scent. Smells like a more masculine version of L'Homme Ideal Eau de Parfum, and reminds me of a formal take on Spicebomb Extreme. Sillage is average, but it definitely lingers for a long time. Perfect for a night out with your bourgeoisie boys

Fragaddict123

I adore the original ideal for men
Cologne wasn’t very good
Cool was fantastic
But this one ……
I was seriously disappointed
Looking at the notes of plum and tobacco I went crazy when I saw them
Expected something revolutionary
I get the original from the opening until half of the fragrance life then it changes a little bit just a little
Nothing major or breathtaking just simple tweaks
The bigger problem was the performance I sprayed a lot and it had weak projection and moderate longevity I had enough from the ideal line from this point out it’s a waste of money

not ur gran

what kind of man wants to smell like a syrupy plum? what happened to smelling like a man????

Version0808

I believe yes, you can get away to wear this perfume as a woman. I think Guerlain L'homme Ideal EDP is very unisex as well and Extreme stayed the same but slightly ranked to the masculine site. I believe Extreme is still a unisex fragrance though. Especially because it is so fruity. The almond, cinnamon, tobacco and leather adds a little bit to the male site but the fruitiness is very strong in it. Some people say they smell a lot of weather in the opening. It's not because of batch differences but perfume difference. For example I bought Extreme on Notino and it lasted for 30 minutes and the opening was very leathery then it dried down nicely. I went to a different store called Douglas which is very legit and famous in Europe. The smell and the opening as well was different. The longevity and the performance was different as well. I had to take back my Guerlain Extreme to Notino because it was a perfect fake which didn't project well and the performance was like 30-40 minutes-ish. I'm just telling you this because you should be very careful if it is original or not if you get a very strong leathery smell with the opening.

I love the notes, I want to know if a woman could get away with wearing this.

if you have the original first EDT, then this one is completely redundant. I don't gent any tobacco here. they are completely identical

Casual Hobbyist

After having tried multiple ones in this line, the Extrême felt like the best option. Here's why:

Cool: had it, was nice, but I was hoping for more mint and less anise.
L'Intense: too smoky, dusty and surprisingly fresh: there are other perfumes that do this idea better and I was looking for something warm, masculine yet sensual.
EDP: smells amazing, sweet and a touch feminine, but not very versatile, good for dates.
EDT: Together with extreme, the best scent out of the whole line. However, the longevity is really bad. Like I'm talking gone in an hour of my wrist to me.

So we arrive at the Extrême. At first, it seemed too thick and off-putting. Something about it seemed to say, I'm luxurious yes, but too full of spices and leather to smell modern. After a few tries however, I started realizing the depth of this fragrance. There is something about it that sets it apart from other designers: sweet, but not synthetic or cloying, rich, yet still modern and not too "mature". In the (late) dry down the tobacco and leather combination give it a dusty and slightly smoky smell: hard to describe, but I imagine dried tobacco leaves, sitting in a old wooden box on a leather couch smell like this. I think this effect mostly happens on clothes however, less on skin: it's not bad, I just need to get used to it. Performance is good: this one will sit closer to the skin, but still last hours, especially on clothes.
