It’s something between Xerjoff Renaissance and Guerlain Homme..or Homme l’eau more like..a bit like a modern eau Sauvage too.Fantastic opening, for this price point you can’t get a more photorealistic citrus mix and great dry down too actually but very weak.. if you can find it for cheap it’s worth it as you can just spray more and more often, otherwise go with Xerjoff Renaissance if you have the money or with Guerlain Homme EDP if you want something more bitter elegant and mature. I get more lime than orange and also some mint..maybe geranium and I get no basil whatsoever..Anyway it super clean and natural smelling and just perfect to spray on after a shower in the summer heat..should be talked about more.

DolceVita7

forget about all the comments, and take a deep look at the bottle it looks like a green potion bottle, a potion of happiness made of orange and citrus mixed with smokey rich scent

3ak

Yes, yes and yes. Orange is my favorite citrus note in fragrances. It sometimes can be hard to find a quality orange centered scent. The orange to me is sweet and slighty candied. This is up there with Guerlains Orange Soleia, Atelier Orange Sanguine and Clementine California. This is perfect for me. Great orange and basil combo with some patchouli. Simplicity is often all you need. This is simple yet great. I would just go for the Concentre if you're stuck between this and the EDC. It's not a performance beast but it doesn't need to be. Overspray and you'll be set, this will love the summer heat.

AJPkayla

Very simple yet anmazing orange basil opening. Wish the top lasted longer. The mid and base hang around a bit longer than I anticipated and they are nice with that Hermes profile but not magical like the opening. Given what this frag sells for it’s not really worth the price point for me.

rescent58

oranges and soaps over patchouli; i wish it lasted and projected longer; i used to like the EdOV-line ...

secretsfromagirl

For me it’s too simple. Smells like just orange with a hint of patchouli. Great if you love citrus

gedlive

I had this for a few years, and appreciate it even more now.
I never got the orange in this concentre version. It's a lemony orange. More tart lemon than orange here.
The great thing about this is the greeness.
I now understand that it's a strong basil note here with the citrus.
So it reminds me of Creed Royal Water, which is a citrus and basil fragrance with ambergris.

AUyliong

Weirdly alcohol-y immediately upon initial spray...but you could tell this is a Hermès frag even then. Citrusy and minty at the same time but that minty spicy scent is a background player supporting the citrus. Smells kind of like Pledge multi-purpose cleaner but smooth and well-blended like a typical Hermès frag.

Minty-powdery after citrus has dissipated. Powder smells fresh.

Not long lasting. Poor sillage. Skin scent almost immediately. Guerlain's Mandarine Basilic EDT is a superior citrus scent IMO.

yazzakasbah

Wow this is nice!
I didn't expect it to be so elegant for some reason. It's perfectly blended and presents itself as one.

On paper:
I can smell very realistic freshly cut lemon with the resins ejecting from the lemonskin still lingering in the air, something herbal in the background. A while later the lemon very slowly transforms in to a very sour orange. Only the tiniest hint of something floral, must be patchouli. The cedar appears in the end and blends in nicely. I think it's the basil that ties it all together and gives a wonderful green accord. Within an hour or so it turns in to a really beautiful ultra dark green.
It is a bit cold. Let's see if skin makes it bloom.

On skin:
Less lemon and more beautiful dark green orange. There's more depth to it.
It's a well rounded refreshing and somewhat serious blend.

ANNAFRYS

Good clean and fresh fragrance. Good at any occasion. I will not lie I like all scents from Hermes.

Beautiful stuff ❤️🧜🏻♀️

Anyone who has any negative thoughts about this can kindly go take a hike.

PHBLUE

Beautiful fresh orange scent with slight herbal and earthy tones to balance it out. So well blended. Similar to Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia but without the screechy metallic tone. This is one of my favorite orange summer scents along with Acqua di Parma's Blu Mediterraneo Arancia Di Capri and Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria.

Like many others have said, doesn't last that long and lies loose to the skin after 15-20 minutes. Still, it's so good I don't mind, gives me an excuse to refresh throughout the day. :)

I also like to layer this with Dior Homme Cologne on occasion. Just a fantastic fresh orange scent that I will always re-buy if available.

Ralphangel

This is just a beautiful summer scent! I love orange based notes in my summer perfumes and this is one of the best in my collection along side Chinotto di Liguria by Acqua di Parma. A masterful well blended sophisticated perfume that you can wear day or night. My wife loves it on me and everytime I wear it she asks me what perfume I have on. She finds it beautiful, fresh, sexy, and sophisticated! As most citrus based perfumes it wont last more than 4 - 5 hours but who cares! I always carry a 10ml perfume atomizer and respray as needed.

One of the finest of all orange-based scents, Concentre d'Orange Verte is powerful stuff. It is more than just an intensified version of Eau d'Orange Verte in that the green note in this (mostly galbanum) is intensified, making this concentration seem every sharper.

It's not a parfum, so it doesn't last and last and last; on the other hand, it lasts quite a bit longer than Eau d'Orange Verte or most other eaux de cologne. It is arresting, and really worth owning if you love citrus.

DJ Alkmaar

If only it lasted more than a minute and projected more than an inch, it'd be my fav smell ever ..
But, alas...

DodgersLH714

This smells very close to Al Rehab Silver. Obviously with higher ingredients.

gedlive

I have a large niche collection. This may be my best go-to citrus for hot Summer days.
The Concentre is more tart and lemony than the other Hermes Orange freshies.
This is more long lasting as well.

And the supporting notes and blending are very good.

God bless.

charlie_vz

Got a decant of this recently. It's a linear, realistic orange scent with green, ambery tones. The scent is simple yet pleasing. I get about 4-5 hours longevity and 1 hour projection

sam75

At first i was disappointed, i imagined the smell would be like a green orange, which is not, it's a normal orange and the greeness comes from elswhere.
Now that i've accepted it for what it is,
it's a piece of art, elegant, pleasant and well blended.
it smells high end like any Hermès fragrance.

weazal

Casually sprayed for a movie date and was frustrated by it projecting too much barbershop. Sad to fall out of love. Guess you should try it a few times. Maybe I'll swing back and it's just dependent on mood?

1ST TRY:
Astoundingly gorgeous application of fresh misted orange. Bright, clean, and pure - not artificial, sweet, or cloying. Closer in reveals hyper realistic citrus.

Doesn’t take long for a soapy element to build, but pulpy/woodiness adds balance. Slowly growing warm patchouli spice and floral basil add nuance/maturity.

Over-spraying helps with strength. My favorite of the line.

discardedandroid

Not super long lasting, but really quite pleasant. It's an herbal green orange, but super well done. Inoffensive and natural smelling. Recommend.

franco90

An understated sense of well-being and tranquility. Hints of classics like Eau Sauvage but this is more unisex and less dated. The citruses are also more realistic here. Would pair nicely with a white shirt on a summers day, makes me think of good times.

SylvesterW

Love it

Jonathanelsher3

At its most basic, simplicity. An extremely potent herbal orange that is neither unpleasant nor overbearing. This one is delicious, gastronomic, orange and green, sweet, reviving, and robust but delicate. One of the best citrus scents ever created, it projects nicely and has a projection life of about 4 to 5 hours. Unisex and offers a fantastic summertime everyday smell. It's great, a little fruitier, and sweeter. Masterpiece!

szirrell

I will get this again. My only regret is that I haven't discovered Concentre d'Orange Verte Hermès sooner. "All the wasted years," Sponge Bob.

petshopb

One of my favourites. Perfect clean and fresh scent.

brokesta911

Hermes Concentre d’Orange Verte - orange grove - Nothing best describes the house more than this long time classic by #jeanguichard. He who created masterpieces such as Loulou, Eden and La Nuit! You see it in every luxury hotel or spa amenity kit. I can’t fault them. The top notes instantly transports you to the orange groves in Versailles palace. Orange, Bergamot, Neroli mixed with Basil. The drydown retains much of the orange character, but sweeter, deeper and woodier. I prefer the concentre given its long lasting nature vs. the eau de cologne which is incredibly fleeting.

sapeur1999

I wore the Eau d'Orange Verte in the 90s as a signature scent in my nights out. The performance then was much better than today's EdC version's, but the scent was quite similar, if memory doesn't lie. FF to modernity, they released the Concentré version. This stronger EdT is darker (less citrus) and longer lasting.

I like the original EdC best, because it was fresher, but this new EdT seems better value for money. Young guns should know this is a classic of perfumery that got as much use from the ones in the know, as Drakkar Noir or Dior Fahrenheit got back in the day. This was our more playful night out fine scent.

Concentré lasts nowadays 4-6 hs on clothes for me, which is more than the EdC used to last back then even when oversprayed, so I find this one overall a practical improvement. Both are heavenly scents that have no paragon for their prices. The difference between EdC and EdT isn't that big honestly, so I'd sample them both before buying.

Staretsi

This is a charming fresh orange citrus fragrance, suitable for hot summer days. It is subtle too, adopting an minimalist approach and eschewing overbearing projection.

Although I prefer other citrus notes, I personally haven't encountered an orange fragrance better than this. If you love this note, you should give this some consideration.

It has a somewhat similar profile to Guerlain Homme EDP, which I feel has the edge.

Beautiful morning fragrance. The orange note here its so juicy and realistic! I imagine myself wearing it for a lovely morning breakfast in a garden. Highly recommended

ILikePeeps

Just fantastic! I have a modern bottle (2020 batch code). An awesome realistic citrusy and basil/herbal affair. Just so refreshing and invigorating. Doesn't come across as cheap or synthetic; smells REAL.
And the performance is actually quite surprising on this one!! I did 5 sprays (2 of them under shirt area) and I got complimented in the morning, then a while later someone came into the office and commented on it. I was surprised. I figured this might be a kind of 'spray with abandon' type of fragrance... nope! ~3 sprays may be plenty for the office. Fantastic.

oil1122

i like its citrus it's freshy but disappear within 1-2 hours. pls make it more longivity at lease should stay 5-6 hours 🙏🙏🙏

alvinzm

A green, earthy, and very citrusy freshness.

Concentre d'Orange Verte smells high quality, and it is great.

Something that bothers me so much about this fragrance is about how weak and light it is. It smells so good, but it just doesn't last. It also doesn't project well, even when I sprayed dozens of times.

What a shame, because that scent is incredible.

eewatts23

Opening :10/10 super realistic orange, haven't tested out the longevity. Going to assume it's not a super perfomer, as it's composed of mostly natural top notes. Oh well, still love it.

Cifrone Molare

A glorious orange tree. Peel, bark, leaves. This is a sicilian summer evening in a very nice bottle.

derby2169

I first smelled this fragrance years ago in a Hermes booth on trip to Germany. the day I bought Terre d'Hermes, sampling about 10 other Hermes scents, loving pretty much all of them and saying I would eventually get to all of them, but i particularly remember enjoy this ultra green tart citrus fragrance that I couldn't recall the name of because of the long tricky French names of the Hermes EdC line.
Many years later on the hunt for the ideal citrus, I blind bought Concentre d'Orange Verte on whim because I found it on a legitimate discounter for like 40$. I was actually surprised it is marketed as an orange fragrance when I got it. Sure there is a bit of a warmer zest in the drydown, but the vast majority of it is for me a galbanum/petitgrain-like freshly cut grass note in the very opening with this ridiculously fresh lime note, intensely green aromatic and tart, like sniffing freshly crushed citrus leaves straight off a tree with a bit of green grass mixed in.
Right as this intense top note tones down I get a slightly warmer orange-scented expensive french soap-like dry down, think high-end European hotel soap, with a slight woodiness and a touch green floral nuances, definitely smoother and milder than that unrelentingly refreshing top note. Beautiful, smooth, and calming, slightly gentleman-like.

I highly recommend people approach this fragrance as a a lime and orange petitgrain fragrance rather than a sweet orange fragrance, in fact the name 'Orange Verte' is likely a bit of a pun on the French word lime 'citron verte', 'green lemon' according to some French-speaking friends of mine. I definitely see this fragrance as a lime counterpart to orange, a green almost unripe orange freshly cut off the tree, together with a big bundle of orange leaves crushed in the process. Performs like a hearty EdC rather than a EdT, but given the online prices and scent quality it's easy to overlook.

Bottledbull

Incredible orange experience from start to finish, juicy and realistic with bits of the tree incorporated into the mid, in the base there is a drop dead gorgeous sprinkling of patchouli that elevates the masculinity and keeps it classy, moderate performance on my skin and I'd say that's just about right for a fragrance of this dynamic, I really wouldn't want anymore.

shravanbendapudi

This to me has a specific spectacular use case. If you live in the tropics by the beach - Goa, Bali, Kochi, Singapore - this becomes perfect for the monsoon on the beach. That's mainly down to this really damp heaviness it has in addition to the fresh citrus that just complements it so well with the damp heavy cool air of monsoon. Like and not love only because of longevity - it's a Cologne so shouldn't expect a lot but... Totally recommend buying it...

Kirtandrews

I have been wearing this little number since I can remember. I own over 450 perfumes and edts. And this one I keep returning too. Just before bed I like to spritz a little something to soften my mood or help me unwind. And this is too energising for me at bedtime now it's so uplifting truly a masterpiece I find myself sniffing myself all night long. Just wish they would bring more follow on products to the UK.

amiumi

Does this perfume smell similar to Profumum Roma Orangea? I read somewhere in fragrantica that it smells similar, but Orangea is not even listed in the "reminds me of" section.

shravanbendapudi

This was a great buy - was actually awesome to carry on my holiday to the beach, including when it was monsoon-ish there. It's earth, dirty notes adds a great depth to the citrus...

DodgersLH714

I think mine turned have had it for over 25 yrs....... smells more vinegar than green orange peel.....remember it being beautiful and fresh.

mark03

The DNA of Eau d'orange verte is clear, but it has in the drydown a lot in common with Eau de narcisse bleu. Such a novelty for me, it only lacks the narcissus but the powdery clean note is very similar in this two perfumes. They share also quite the same longevity, and it is not bad. So nice because in concentree I dont find the bitterness of narcisse bleu, and in narcisse bleu I dont find the basil and minty side of concentree, and again they are so similar and lovely.

Nagchampesque

One of the only few perfumes I could wear while pregnant and very sick.
Very good for sunny days.

petshopb

I love this fragrance. It is in top 10 of my all time favourites.

alvinzm

A strong like, let down by a terrible performance.

jarno1208

I like, but I don't love it. Strong orange note with green notes. Fresh and citrusy. Pleasant and not outdated. Slightly more masculine than feminine.

Senteurnouveau

Better longevity than the Cologne version, but the EDC is better in scent,
longevity around 6hours,
for warm days,
leans more masculine,

Hermès please release an Eau de parfum version !!!

caifan

Concentre d'Orange Verte by Hermes is a citrus and aromatic fragrance.

Its opening is citrusy with a delicious orange with an add spicy-herbal of basil, this phase is very energizing, puts me in a good mood. Once in the phase of drying is perceptible an aromatic acord of amber and woods.

Undoubtedly Concentre d' Orange Verte is a day fragrance, is very fresh and sparkling. For using when you want, but ideal in hot days.

Its longevity isn't the better, maximum 6 hrs., but it smell is beautiful.

For me is slightly more male than unisex, but without problem it can be used by a woman

alanwake

Orange Verte encapsulates the smell of walking through an orange grove. Ripe oranges, bitter green leaves, and orange tree branches. A wonderful blend that’s just marvelous in the heat. This used to perform poorly, about one hour tops, but after letting my bottle sit for a year, it lasts and lasts. An absolute favorite of mine during the summer.

I first got a whiff of this when I was staying in a hotel in Paris in 2013. The bathroom toiletries were all Hermes d'Orange Verte. I used the shampoo and conditioner before going shopping. Every time the wind blew through my hair, everyone behind me complimented me on my "perfume". The next day I used the body wash and lotion. I was hooked!!!! I stocked up on the ones from the hotels during our travels and used them "sparingly" because I didn't want to run out too soon. Fast forward 8 years. I found the the Concentre and Toilette at a reasonable price and purchased both of them. The Concentre is closer to the fragrance I remembered, but the Toilette is just lighter. I am a woman and I don't feel the scent is masculine on me, just fresh and joyful.

warm-cinnabar

The fragrance is rather straightforward fresh bitter citrus, I'd say it more reminds me of petitgrain or at least more of bitter orange than sweet orange. In the bottle it's a blend of citrus, cedar and patchouli, while on my skin it remains as a mixture of citrus and basil, it stays distinctly bitter for around 20 minutes, after that becomes more subtle and fresh. The fragrance is both moderate in the matter of longevity and sillage, the light character makes it more suitable to daytime and warmer seasons. The fragrance is all right, especially for those who like clean citrus notes very much.

bluesprings

Smells like basic Italian/Spanish splash cologne with powdery dry down such as "Nenuco" just get those instead. Don't pay the hefty Hermes price tag its not worth it.

guess4743

The same fragrance like Guerlain Homme 2016 EDP (new bottle)
That Mojito vibe...
Try it, compare it and feel similarity.

P.S. Guerlain has better projection on my skin and last longer then Hermes

M-as-Marin

Even as a young child, I always liked the scent of oranges in the summertime. This is why I have been super excited to snatch Hermes Concentre D’Orange Verte at an affordable price.

Even before I had purchased this perfume, I knew that its weakest points were poor projection and longevity, but I couldn’t care less. Finding out just how natural was the aroma of green oranges couldn’t get out of my mind.

Here are my 5 quick takes:

- The best orange-based perfume of all time
- A citrus aromatic fragrance with average longevity
- Created by Jean Guichard in 2004
- Best used during warmer seasons on any occasion
- Poor performance keeps it from getting bigger appreciation

Hermes Concentre D’Orange Verte is a great citrus-based fragrance for an affordable price, but with poor performance.

I believe that those who enjoy the art of perfumery will enjoy this perfume the most, as it tells a beautiful story, and refreshes your mind.

I get a very natural zesty orange peel scent very much like peti grain but cannot pick out any other notes as shown in the note breakdown, perhaps thats becasu eit blended so well but seriously nothing else stands out.
Its very refreshing and works best hot a hot summers day or evening if you want to smell like orange zesty peel, not that there is anything wrong with that as orange zesty peel smells wonderful!
it is a rather pleasant scent and I like this but I do not love it, I find (on my skin) it turns into a skin scent after 30 min so you do need to spray on your clothes for the longevity and sillage to last a longer.
All in all a decent refreshing basic linear scent that smells extremely natural and refreshing. :)

Kloppo

Super nice, the opening smells like a slightly less green, slightly more orangey version of xerjoff renaissance. It's a shame it doesnt last as long as renaissance up to 10-12 hours, especially the citrus. This lasts about 6 hours and has a mild silliage but is a bit more reasonable price-wise. Compared to other citruses at this price I can honestly say nothing has it beat for the opening, but after 30 mintues the cedar turns sour and the citrus is gone, kinda reminds me of cool water. This fragrance has such high quality that it's being compared to the big dogs and that deserves some credit. 7.5/10

phylogeneric

Absolutely the best citrus scent I have ever smelled. It blows every other citrus out of the water. Reminds me of a mint mojito but much more orange/citrus. I just wish it lasted longer and projected more but that's really an issue with every citrus scent. I still plan on purchasing it when summer comes around because it just smells that good and isn't super expensive. It's sunshine in a bottle. Very unique with a lot of character.

If you love citrus scents and just care about smell, go for this one but if longevity and projection are that important try Chanel Allure Homme Sport. It's more floral but still a great citrus scent and projects + lasts more than any other citrus I have tried, which really isn't saying much but just my two cents.

brunono

This is one of my favorite citrus fragrance. For me all products by Hermes are classy and sophisticated. This is a clear example!

In years past, Concentre d'Orange Verte could have been the standard bearer for me. Not necessarily in terms of being a everyday chosen wear, but more so abstract and emotionally - an olfactory illustration of an ideal “day in the life of.” But here on the cusp of what seems predetermined to be a metaphorically cold and dark Winter, it has become a flame in the darkness that signifies bittersweet longing. I’ve heard and read the Portuguese have a word for the same wistful array of emotions, seemingly at play against one another, that this fragrance evokes in me: Suadade.

I am reminded of an afternoon of cooking, an activity I truly love, but one I don’t get to throw myself into often these days. The everyday meals I make for myself are usually lackluster, made to strike a balance between optimizing value, nutrition, and ease and speed of preparation. Although I am easy to please, it’s really just a way to placate myself as I am rarely impressed by this artless, pragmatic approach.

But cooking for friends, that’s a very different game. That’s where the passion comes out, and my confidence and reliance on the senses become paramount to the moment. I ascend to a trance-like rhythm. The process is as meaningful as the end product, both of which are treasures in their own rights. And the creature of devotion that I am, I am reticent to stray from the tried and true flavors I love the most, so these occasions are routinely dominated by fresh citrus and fresh herbs.

Concentre d'Orange Verte is the essence of a summer evening’s dinner party. The whole experience - lovingly laboring over the ingredients while the sun goes down, and sharing the spoils of one’s efforts with friends well into the night. This is an unapologetically simple citrus and basil, perfectly blended as if by accident, as if it were wafting from a freshly used cutting board. It projects a sort of joie de vivre - the perfect blend of the generosity and inherent warmth of high quality friendship and a mutual appreciation for the experience of just spending a wonderful evening together.

I have been keeping a decant of this in my pocket for the past few months, occasionally taking it out, resting the nozzle on my upper lip, inhaling deeply, and feeling the rush of dopamine flooding my bloodstream. It is intensely beautiful, and some days lately I feel it’s all I have. I must confess, though, that in a strange way I find myself somewhat grateful for today’s struggles - were it not for the ongoing isolation and amplified sorrow, I never could have appreciated the dreamlike memories and the hope for the future that Concentre d'Orange Verte stirs inside me.

Citrus and basil. So simple that it almost invites being taken for granted. But a yield far greater than the modest recipe suggests.

Caldrumr

Beautiful. I wanted this on first sniff.
It is a very green citrus. The closest I can relate it to is like picking oranges or lemons from the tree, if you have ever gone cirtus picking. Citrus, citrus peel and oil, but also the sharp green scent of leaves and broken young branches.
It's quite nice. During the dry-down, a little more patchouli comes out, and the citrus takes a back seat to the patchouli and mint (dry, green mint, not sweet mint).
A wonderful, fragrant scent for Spring or Summer.
Unfortunately, the projection is pretty much non existent, and it becomes a skin scent fast. I have tended to prefer this one under circumstances where I can re-spray periodically, to experience that wonderful opening again.
However, it is very natural smelling and fresh. I can't really find fault with it. Just not the sort of scent you're going to wear to the club, or where you want to stand out. This is on the softer side; it doesn't scream at you.

blueste

Just received a small decant. Great summer fragrance. Does disappear rather quickly on me. I need to wear a few more times, but reminds me of FM's Bigarade Concentree. I know they are not from the same perfumer but wow. I need to do a side by side comparison.

I tried this and a sample decant of Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche today. I'm leaning more to liking the TDH. Although, I'm not much of a fan of aquatic scents. So, for that reason, the nod may go to d'Orange Verte.

Both are great hot summer scents. I just need to spend more time with each.

guchateu

Perfect Summer. Beach or indoor... Fresh, sophisticated, it's like wearing summer on your body. Even the longevity is moderate, well, this is worth it.

I found sexy in some moment.
Not so intimidating but interesting.

gabiborza

Great citrusy fragrance! It is clean, sophisticated, refreshing, perfect for a hot day. I got a tester for a great deal and I am very happy with the purchase. Performance is average, but then again, it is a freshie.

danielng01

Upon my recent stay at St.Regis, they gifted me this Concentre d'Orange Verte set including shampoo, hair conditioner, perfume and body lotion.

The smell is very fresh but minty. Honestly, it is too minty. My hubby always said to me after I took a shower "you smell just like Pho (beef noodle soup)". Because the right way to eat Pho (Vietnamese local custom) must put basil in it. Well... it is imprinted to my nose now as my friend indication.

So we call this as fancy Pho with a hint of orange.

Guitar 2016

Concentre d'orange verte smells like Mojito cocktail, Dark green, minty, zesty and warm. It's good for women. Longevity is poor.

Rating: 7/10

alvinzm

Classic Hermes Orange. It smells very good but has a softly projecting performance.

lilah_rouge

Amazing citrus PERFUME! A must have for a lady who wants to be elegant, yet fresh smelling.*****

bibibling

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this - to my nose at least, this is the exact same woody orange note from the Merveilles line, of course minus all the ooey-gooey resiny, caramelly stuff, just a breath of amber. Very nice but since I already have 3 different Merveilles flankers, it feels redundant to also purchase this cousin of theirs. I'd definitely recommend Hermes fans give this one a good sniff though and I'm amazed it's not more popular to be honest! It's a very solid woody + orange scent!

beachbum1970

A frosty, minty, orange. So uplifting and invigorating, it's almost therapeutic really. The orange here is amazing. So natural and fresh. I detect a little lavender sometimes too. I like this better than the non concentre version, it's a little bit more masculine with the extra mint and lasts a little longer, but not by much. Longevity and silage is its downfall here. I get 2 hours max. I purchased the smaller 1.6 oz bottle (beautiful frosted green glass) and it's small and discreet enough to slip into your coat pocket or purse (this is a unisex scent) for resprays throughout the day if needed. I'm also using the Hermes D'orange Verte body lotion as well, and its scent may actually last longer than the cologne itself! A shame about the longevity, but I still love it. My signature scent for now.

TheFireman

I can't imagine ever spending a summer without this gorgeous juice.

JungeWerther

To me, this smells exactly like lemon balm (Melissa officinalis). Basil-y, minty, green. I love it!

AndySmellsGreat

This, out of a few hundred I own (mostly EDP) and my 40 years of perfume life experience and unlike my usual reviews this is simply described in a few words. Most people overcomplicate the description. It is THE GO TO for an orange based scent. It is:

1) a soapy sweet orange with a dirty base
2) a classic - the origin for Terre d’Hermes
3) relevant today as it was in the 70’s

As it is a concentre it is obviously not as strong as an EDP however it is stronger than you think.

I have had this on my top 20 rotation for about 10 years and for a while was very much my signature. My interesting story is that during my childhood I had lots of free travel on Qantas (courtesy of my fathers job). I remember splashing the bottle of unmarked cologne supplied in the QAntas aircraft toilet liberally when ever I went to pee. Much to my parents amusement - they thought I was pretending to be grown up but it was as much because it had this amazing smell. It was a memory time stamp, especially refreshing when everyone in the plane smoked and you were stuck on board for upto 30 hours or more to get to London or Frankfurt. I just found out it was Hermes Eau D’orange Vert (it’s weaker cousin).

Explains... EVERYTHING... weird...

Smells like watery lifesavers that soaked in Prada Infusion(which I own). Not that manly/more for women. Wouldn't buy again...probably best for office or scalding hot weather, as it doesn't project, sits close to the skin. Since I like Infusion, I'll suck it up, but Prada's is more likeable...this gets a clay thing g'wannin' like Versace Dreamer.

CobraCommander

Love the basil in this, gives it a peppery note and ties the orange very well. Truely depicts its name with smell. Very well done by Hermes. I'm so happy Hermes avoids sweetness in their fresh smelling frags.

preppydirtbag

Really excellent, a consistent favorite. Orange and herbs, a combination that one might be skeptical of but it truly delivers, demanding many rewears.

Bookliner

No one likes this cologne on me. No surprise. Far from a light orangy scent; a very heavy smell which won't last too long, though.

tayyabforyouth

Very interesting hyper-bitter basil and greenery scent with a hint of bitter orange. Has a very cool minty quality to itas well. Would be great for summers. It smells very similar to Proraso Azur Lime cologne which is a cheaper alternative to this with lime instead of orange. Sillage is moderate while longevity is pretty good for a fresh fragrance. However it is a bit too bitter for my liking.

scentitar

pure and simple lemon, orange and maybe a little patchouli

The kind of fragrance that has very few notes, smells natural and almost herbal. I keep thinking green here, but it does not smell green, odd.

It smells quality, but I do not get any of the natural sweetness of oranges or anything to round out the fragrance, which makes this almost seem a dry fragrance to me.

I would not recommend this to younger people or those who love full, deep or rich fragrances. I get 3 to 5 hours out of this and poor projection and sillage

I think Versace Fraîche,Terre d'hermes Très fraîche, Le labo bergamote 22 are better

I personally enjoy aqua di gio essenza and Zegna mediterranean Neroli

To me, like to many others, Concentré d'Orange Verte might just be the ultimate summer cologne. It's a straightforward, winning concept: just pure, zesty bitter orange on a subtly herbal background. Perfect in its simplicity, and a real delight on a hot day like today! It even greatly improved my mood on this long, tired, sweaty day at work, and that's saying something. Also, it performs remarkably well for a cologne: it stays clearly present for most of the day, which is a rare thing for such an obvious summer scent. And it's so natural that in my opinion it can't be seen as anything else than perfectly unisex. A keeper! I wonder how the Eau compares...

daziz

To me this nothing like orange nor grapefruits.. Its straight lime or lemon leaves..not the fruit ..just the leaves.. Bitter ..sharp .. Aromatic ..inhale able.. Bath of margaritas

The longer it stays the better it gets.. Love it ..long lasting .. Not sure if others could smell it never got a comment ..but I could smell it on me all day much more than other perfumes.. CLEAN perfect...bitter citrus perfect perfume

Though I have my cozy moments, it’s pretty much summer in my mind's eye all year long. Some of that is climate related, but mainly it’s my own outlook. Hermès Concentré d’Orange Vert (2004) supports this vision, but with incomparable European quality. It calls to mind the Côte d'Azur in high season with it’s endlessly deep orange liquor heart laced with an equally bottomless and lasting basil note infused with all the characteristics of the herb from crushed, green pesto to tarry, black anise seed. All of this seems to lie fixed on a sunny mat of cedar, patchouli, and amber, taking the sum total effect to the highest peak of summertime euphoria and holding it there indefinitely. Delightful and authentic in every way, this is my endless summer fragrance and vote for best of the best of Hermès alongside Terre d’Hermès and its earthy, burnt-orange addictiveness.

Bubbles1964

This review is based off sampling in the store and wearing D'Orange Verte Concentrate for about 3 hours. My initial impression is this is a big orange, soapy burst. Around the 2 hour mark, the amber accord and patchouli break through.

I like it a lot, but I'm on the fence about buying a full bottle. It's a cool spring day, so I will test this again when the weather gets warmer.

trabuquera

Just simply outclasses nearly every other orange-centric fragrance ever, in my opinion. So much so that, as a female devotee, reading the comments below about it being "not right" on a woman made me feel personally slighted and a little punchy!

This is the big leagues. Truly a masterpiece. It has the real sharp zesty smack of bitter orange oil, the herbal/peppery edge of orange leaf, the freshness ofthe fruit's juice, the warm spicy woodiness of the orange tree itself, and that bewitching sweetness which evokes orange blossom. A passionate love from the very first time I sniffed it (and I am happy to admit that Terre d'Hermes is way too butch to work on me, and I also agree that Concentre would be sheer perfection if only it lasted longer, so I am not an all-out fangirl unable to see any fault in the house or this scent.)

What to say about it, that wouldn't be dull and obvious? Yeah, yeah, timeless classic, true unisex, unarguable quality, fine control of fine ingredients, all of that. But none of that does it justice. I'm not worthy! The best I can do is: this astonishing formula will take you on a glorious walk through a sun-dappled orange grove, wherever and whoever you are. Just try it. It is *wonderful*.

The only things even fit to come near it that I've tried are Bigarade Concentre (which does have better longevity, but is vastly more expensive), Noir Epices (which is much more macho and spicier, as well as pricier) and Shay&Blue Blood Orange, which has a wetter juicier feel but none of the wood or warmth, and no more longevity either). So I will concentrate on Concentre for as long as Hermes keep making it. And you should too.

mohammedbrik7

This fragrance is like heaven. After one hour it's like a vivid dream.

drlaurel

I'm not going to add anything to the other eloquent reviews here. They have said it all. Fresh, summer or when you need a cold weather lift of spirits, male or female, the concentre lasts much longer. I just wanted to add that if you like bitter green orange fragrances like this you must not miss Nest Paradise or Atelier Orange. Two of my other favorites to mix up my citrus collection and preserve each juice to enjoy a bit longer.

LostHesperid

This was my first Hermès and my first serious perfume purchase and it was love at first smell. Simply put this is THE summer fragrance by excellence !

The name conjures up the idea of something simple yet exquisite. A beautiful stroll through an unripe orange grove in the cool shade of the lush green fragrant orange leaves by a warm summer day.

As for the fragrance in itself, it opens up with a blast of electrifying zingy green citrus that feels like a cheerful blast in your face, a whack of optimism to shake you out of the humid torpor of a searing hot summer day ! It is followed by a mild minty coolness that eventually dries down to a very very delicate powdery black currant bud note. Very soft and distant. As you can imagine this perfume, which is really a cologne, performs very poorly in terms of longevity (basically gone after 1H) and sillage (dare I say nonexistent). But none of that matters because this is made to lovingly overindulge and splash, splash, splash and keep on splashing !

Unpretentious yet chic, cheerful yet sleek and elegant as you would expect from Hermes, this classic cologne will suit any person of any age and is guaranteed to put a big smile on your face. Note that this mood lifting quality also works in winter so don’t hesitate to take a whiff during the grey days of the cold season.

To sum up, Concentré d’Orange Verte is the smell of happiness.

miracleborgtech

This one unsettles me. The notes are fantastic, but I'm struggling with the combination. Gorgeous zesty orange that I want to bathe in! Scraped rind with juice and pulp! Unfortunately, there's a pesky dominant herbal mix interfering! Either alone would be great, but together there's a strange bitterness that makes my nose itch and want to separate the two. Like conjoined twins that hate each other.

And then the orange disappears. But by then, the basil/herb/amber accord has morphed into a pale powdery ghost. Not the original fresh just-clipped herbs that opened. Might be my skin. Hermes is one of my favorite houses - love Rocabar, Rose Ikebana, Caleche and more. But I've had problems with other scents like Un Jardin Sur Le Nil that doesn't smell on me like it does on others. Jean Guichard has made some legendary scents, Cacharel's Eden and LouLou, Calvin Klein's Obsession. So, I am leaning towards how my body chemistry reacts. Will have to try this one again when the weather warms!
Darn!

Happyme2009

I know I reviewed this one about 8 or 9 years ago when I discovered fragrantica. I remember buying this in duty free somewhere and it was my very first Hermès. Since then I went through hundreds of perfumes, yet the other day when I came face to face with this perfume I just had to buy it.... for old times sake’s I guess.
It’s beautiful.
Unisex but perfectly suitable for a woman with a strong spirit.
Bitter orange that manages not to be sour nor too peel zesty , mixed with garden mint and some sage for sweetness . I don’t smell lemon or citron at all. It’s definitely bitter green orange. Green , fresh, oozing with humidity and life like the rain forest, it’s longer lasting than most citrus scents I know. The frosty green bottle is a perfect match . The Patchouli is not strong at all, and that is good because I’m very particular when it comes to patch. After a while there seems to be a hint of rose, like young buds that are barely open. It feels invigorating.
Wonderful and not as simplistic as it seems. Silage is average, lasting power on clothes pretty good for a citrus, on skin you’re left just with clean freshness.
Recommended to people who like fresh , green and lively scents. Perfect in its genre.

gedlive

This is a staple in my collection as one of my very favorite freshies.

I am really enjoying it on this balmy warm early Autumn day.
It is very sour tart orange, not like the sweet juice, but more like the orange peel with some lime added.
So it's very effervescent, and great performance for a fresh fragrance. It's like some Atelier Cologne frags, like Orange Sanguine.

The special thing that I like about this are the green notes, the dark green color of the bottle perfectly suits the dark leafy green foliage. So this is very unique and a fragrance of contrasts, that always makes a fragrance most satisfying for me.

Dihydromercenary

Quite a pleasant citrus-orange minty green herbal spray that lasts for about 30 minutes before turning into a long lasting skin scent. I have a 15ml mini of this that I got in a gift set along with TDH as well as a couple of other Hermes fragrances. This is not a sexy fragrance in the least and is completely androgynous/unisex imo. However, this is not something that I personally enjoy "wearing" as part of my "outfit" for the day. This is much more of an aromatherapy, herbal soothing scent than it is a personal fragrance I think.

I do like spraying this one on from time to time however as it smells pleasant, is relaxing, helps concentration, lucid dreaming, etc. It somehow has a very ancient tribal age of aquarius Pleiades spiritual feel. If you're looking for a Hermes to wear out in real life, go for TDH. This one is appropriate for aforementioned spiritual types, maybe festival goers, hippies, etc. I'm joking. But it does smell nice, check it out of you're looking for a minty aromatic zesty orange fragrance.

Leopold

100% summer fragrance, 100% Hermès, 100% timeless. I had it 25 years ago as a teenager and it smells just as good. It's kind of strange because I don't consider this to be a "perfume", and I don't buy it for the same purpose as I do with other perfumes. It's mostly the smell of orange to me. I can hardly detect other notes apart from basil. But that does not mean it's a bad thing. Orange and other citrusy essential oils are well known for their calming and relaxing properties. That's exactly how I feel after applying this: relaxed. And refreshed. It's a must for anyone who likes orange and a must have for anyone who wants to discover great Hermes classics.

GRAF

This is not a full review but some thoughts. This Hermes is an uplifting citrusy, fresh spicy scent with better longevity than the other hermes I tried and with a nice calmly warmness from the summery amber. Orange, little earth, soft and smooth amber, a velvety scent. It has some similarities with Eau de Mandarine Ambrée Hermes and Atlantica Odyssey Dilis which I love both. Moderate performance but above average. A wonderful day time scent suitable for spring and summer. Totally unisex.

Mando

This scent reminds me of Au The Vert Bvlgari sans the tea note.
This scent is gorgeous and on me, very longlasting at 8 hours plus.

phenomenal

This stuff smells like rich, luxurious and expensive orange.
The name is perfect for this fragrance... if you can get a bottle of this stuff for a good deal like I did, you are really getting a steal. Expensive, niche orange scent. Can't go wrong. This is blind buy safe imo. This is not as good as Xerjoff Nio but it is up there in the same realm and much less expensive... although the presentation on Nio is one of the best I have ever seen.

Thank you, Hermes! I will purchase more.

Scent Detective

Nice fresh citus/orange opening that takes on the "vert" characteristics between 30 to 45 minutes after application. I then got a "corn chip" vibe which I also smelled in Dior's Granville. After about 6 hours, this changed entirely on my skin. It became a strange odor that smelled like deodorant applied to cover body odor. I'm at 12.5 hours after application now, and it still smells like B.O. I'll try wearing it again sometime soon, but I sure don't like my experience with the dry down so far.

Had to try this as I'm always a sucker for a good citrus centric scent. The opening to me smells more of lemon verbena than orange and it sticks around a respectable amount of time. The other notes I detect are the amber and the patchouli which in the dry down remind me of another Hermes creation - Voyage. Very nice. Enough so it may someday soon grace my perfume shelves.

Julie DV

I love the initial burst of citrus fruits - lemons, oranges, limes! I also detect mint, almond, basil, patchouli and pine. I wish it would never end.

It dries down to a well-balanced scent I want to keep smelling. It smells clean and refreshing, but also very, very sexy! This is so likable.

This is an attractor fragrance!

anikomarton

A gorgeous composition with its few but very well chosen components. I smell a perfect equity of the sourness of orange and the woody cedar. Their duo is emphasised by the spicy green note of basil.
A really fresh fragrance with great silage and longevity!
And I love the bottle with its deep green opacity and the softness of the glass.

Oldspice

Reminds me of Eau Sauvage but with the citrus toned down and the green, basil herbal edge boosted way up. Slightly earthy. It smells like you're in an herb garden on a cool spring day.

Not bad but don't love it either. Lasts about 4, 5 hours for me.

[email protected]

For the 1st 5 Minutes, you feel like getting drenched in Summer Rain, below A Lemon Tree.

For it’s next lifecycle, it is earthy bitter green.

The 1st few minutes are magic. I feel more lemon verbena than Orange, though Orange is no doubt present. The verbena note lifts up very soon, keeping the Orange note, which starts getting bitter, like over squeezing an orange. A green note starts showing up, which remains till the end, becoming drier and drier with time. The base is built up of strong cedar, which is the most persisting player (beside the green note) in Concentre d’Orange Verte.

Overall, it absolutely justifies its name. and like all Hermes it remains simple, aesthetic and unique.

My only disappointment is, it absolutely does not projects well after one or one and a half hours.

Sillage: Soft (As mentioned does not projects well after 1 Hour)
Longevity on My Skin: Approx 5 Hours (quite good as a cologne)
Longevity on Fabric: Approx 6 Hours
Occasion: Quite Versatile. One of my favorite for daily Office wear in humid summer days. This perfume grows more with sweat. You may wear it on Casual Affairs also. Not for Formal Occasions or Romantic Dates.

P.S: This Review is for the Cologne version of Concentre d’Orange Verte.

Little Prince

The best classical citrus along Eau de Guerlain (I exlude Eau Sauvage and Mugler Cologne since there entirely different continents on their own, also some colognes of the classic form).
Concentré goes immediately for an energizing bitter green blast paired with a very strong herbal/vegetal accord. The whole effect gives an extremely vivid green sensation, orange peel meets fresh grass, totally crisp with an earthy edge. Then the scent delves deeper in a more calming ambery territory, warm and comforting but remains fresh and elegant all the way.
Citrus fragrances are the quintessence of refreshment. Many of them however tend to either smell like kitchen cleaners or are so simplistic that one finds difficult to enjoy. There are cases though that they are done right and manage to grant you a long-lasting, distinctive classiness that is hard to beat. Concentré d'Orange Verte is one of them, a flavedo fresh masterpiece full of character.

mutatismutandis

Another gorgeous Hermes perfume. Straight away on spraying, there's a sense of how fresh and lovely this is. You get the orange and lemon smell you expect but there's also a brief moment of almond/amaretto for the first twenty minutes or so as well. Just occasionally you might get a whiff of that amaretto/almond note when you smell your skin. It's not a surprise to say that it is similar to the Eau D'Orange Verte but this concentre version brings out the verte and not just the orange whereas the original cologne is all about the orange. No complaints either way, just an observation. If you like one, you'll almost certainly like the other.

The basil and the cedar work together beautifully with the orange/lemon top notes and give it a depth that the Eau D'Orange Verte lacks. Think of it as the difference between holding the fruit up to your nose and smelling it and being in the orchard with the fruit still on the trees. The fruit is the dominant smell but the green notes are around it in the breeze.

It's a beautiful piece of craftmanship. I think it's suitable for any time of day or year or occasion. It is a soft scent and the projection is limited but it lasts a lot longer than a lot of the reviewers suggest. I sometimes wonder if the people who think it's gone after 45 minutes are spraying it from 100 yards away! You can just get 7 hours out of it altogether but it is a skin scent after three or four hours.

Concentre D'Orange Verte is lovely and refreshing and one of those scents that just make you feel better. It has that restorative quality that a well made citrus cologne should possess. I could also imagine using it with Terre D'Hermes, adding a little spray over it. I think this cologne has a certain flexibility that means it could be used with other citrus scents or ones with an earthy quality about them.

Fhaldara

I love Hermes colognes, Eau d'Orange Vert was my first, and it became the standard by which I measured every other fragrance of this type. It took me some time to add Concentre d'Orange Vert to my collection, I'd read many reviews which said it was so similar to EOV that if you had one you didn't need the other. I find them to be similar only in the sense that they are the same type of fragrance. Concentre smells quite different on me, greener, and less orange. It's a sharper citrus at first, bitter in the very best way, then mellows just a bit, allowing tiny sparks of something sweeter (the amber maybe?) to pop up under the citrus. The longevity is surprisingly good, I've been wearing it 6 hours now, and am still getting a noticeable scent. Sillage is moderate. It's a pleasure to have it in my collection.

gvd

Nice classy citrus summer scent. Longevity however is poor.

WildDove

Fresh dark green, herbaceous, earthy. Classic and classy chypre. I don't get much orange in this. The patchouli in the base grounds the scent and makes it last well. Totally unisex. Everyone who has smelled this fragrance seems to like it and comments favorably. If you like green scents, this is a "must" for your collection. Beware when buying online that shipping clerks often confuse this Concentre version with the regular Eau d' Orange Verte which is a completely different fragrance, resulting in lots of logistical hassles to straighten out your order.

Scentsitive

To my nose, this is the whole orange tree and the surrounding orchard air in a bottle. Very uplifting fragrance that whenever I spray, I could almost hear the birds in the orange orchard chirping. Together with Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, this is a summer favorite for as long as I can remember (10 years?). I never get tired of this and always garner compliments esp. from people who doesn't like very strong/oriental perfumes. A staple in my collection.

kellz1843

It's VERY orange, VERY herbal, a little earthy, VERY beautiful. If I didn't have Eau Sauvage which does this with lemons and is...a little bolder, I would purchase this immediately.

lepetitprince

A fun explosion of citrus and spices greets you at the first spray. Such zest in the citrus that you could very well be peeling a fresh, ripe orange at this very moment. There is nothing synthetic about it at all.

A very unique scent, certainly won't be forgotten easily. Not suitable for the average female. You need a really whimsical and free-spirited character to wear this well, or to like it at all. Possibly a wild streak, together with that independent stubbornness.

I wouldn't claim that this isn't feminine at all. Sure, it works for guys too. But on a girl, now, that is something memorable. I suppose that Amélie Poulain might like it. Cheerful, quirky and lots of fun. Love it.

Hectaedrical

Pocas fragancias pueden percibirse como maduras y ser dominantemente cítricas, es un placer llevar puesta Orange Verte Hermés, huele como las hojas de una naranjo al ser partidas.

melanie

Concentre d'orange verte smells just like freshly sliced oranges and it seems to be a mood lifter too. Great scent, so pleasant and quite longlasting on my skin.
Same vibe as Ruban L'occitane's that I really loved, especially in the dry down.

benabdelafou

Very fresh scent, its effect does not last long on the skin but can last long enough on clothing.

demby

me gusta el aroma fresco, de un día de verano
es una de mis fragancias favoritas, es una lastima de dure poco tiempo en la piel...aunque siempre tengo la botella concentrada dura un poco mas que el agua de colonia :)

Brenao

80's. At opening you can feel what is coming. A green, very acidic and woody fragrance, very manly, odd. Not my cup of tea, but has character.

Redbeard

I don't know why they made the original more flowery...I don't know if it's really more concentrated at all. The first few minutes are glorious, realistic citrus fruit, but then it devolves into stale orange blossom residue which I can only smell if I overspray (though I'd hesitate to even use the word "overspray" with this one since it's so light). I gave it to my friend and she used about 5 mL one day as a room+linen spray all over her bedroom, but I couldn't smell it when I visited her place the next day.

Na0

This is.... One of the greatest citruses I ever smelled.
I mean... An "herbal" orange, just that, nothing more. Simplicity at its finest.

The name doesn't lie :
Concentré > Concentrate > Yes, very strong, but not awful, not loud... Just enough strong to smell it without to be disturbed.

Orange > Orange... ORANGE ! That pure orange, that strong orange, but delicate too. A juicy one, full of sun. Yummy.

Verte > Yes, green. A green background, just behind the orange, without it, the orange would be boring, classic, I think. Calm, quiet, but present, just for the orange to be brought to arm, very well blended to make a greeny/spicy orange, a very special orange juice cocktail.

Honestly, I thought citruses ones would be too acid, too boring, too generic, but no. This one is yummy, gourmand, green and orange, sweet, refreshing and strong but delicate. Perfect, just perfect.

topolcats

I have been wearing this scent for years!
I love it but its a big ask to say its unisex.
Its a male scent......but if you are a masculine women?,
then who knows the possibilities?

aqua_de_la_vita

What else do u need to say when its a HERMES !!!! My first purchase of Hermes frag was Rocabar, I still use it thou it's from the early 80's...TIMELESS. last year I purchased Terre d'Hermes Hermes for men, a real spicy, fresh and cozy fragrance which is one of my signature frag now.
Concentre d' Orange Verte is also another MASTERPIECE which is best during the summer/fall days. The first time I sprayed it on my skin it was a rush of Orange/citrus scent which stays on that way over several hours. The aroma stimulates your senses and re energizes you becoming very up beat.
After the aroma of Orange settles ever so slightly then you are able to smell amber with a touch of patchouli.
This frag has a tremendous base of both basil and cedar combined with the top notes makes it a really impressive fragrance.
Longevity is NUMERO UNO...FIVE STAR, well past 10 hours.
Sillage is superb, you can smell it more then 5ft away without it being heavy.
Overall, there's nothing else you can say about a top-notch fragrance which both sex's use it and find it a gem. This fragrance is worth every ounce, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another bottle.
I leave you with a question; How could you ever get tired or bored of this fragrance?
My response is Forza Concentre d'Orange Verte...LIVE FOR EVER...10/10

MsDana

A great scent, fresh and masculine! Hermes never disappoints, you could buy this as a gift for your guy and I doubt that he would not like it.

missk

Concentre d'Orange Verte by Hermes is a great fragrance if crisp, orange scents are your thing. Luckily this fragrance can be shared between the sexes. It's fairly androgynous in its approach, and is neither too sweet nor too sharp.

I am surprised to discover that Concentre d'Orange Verte is in fact an EDT, not an EDC as I had previously thought it to be. It wears very much like a citrus cologne splash; watery, refreshing and crisp.

I have quite a fondness for realistic, juicy orange based fragrances. For some time I have enjoyed wearing L'Occitane's Ruban d'Orange during Summer, however since its discontinuation I have been searching for its replacement. Concentre d'Orange Verte certainly comes close.

It's the kind of fragrance I would reach for on a hot and humid afternoon. Concentre d'Orange Verte opens with a refreshing burst of citrusy orange, which is quickly followed by a subtle hint of green basil and clean cedar.

On my skin, the patchouli is barely evident. I wouldn't describe this fragrance as having any earthy or musty accords. It's fresh from beginning to end, and rather simplistic in this manner.

The longevity is fairly average for that of an EDT, and the sillage can vary from barely noticeable to moderately light. I probably wouldn't pay full price for Concentre d'Orange Verte, but I would like to add it to my collection at some point.

Lom

This is my signature perfume, although I didn't use it for a while now because it makes me feel a bit down when I wear it - the complete opposite to what I used to feel when I started using it.

This fragrance is best worn on warm summer nights (summer nights where I live are humid, hot and sticky and Concentre d`Orange Verte is better than air-conditioning for cooling down). The problem with this fragrance is that it's too strong when you apply it (almost like peeling an orange and getting it's juice in your eyes) and after the strong smell is gone (after 5 min) the rest fades away very quick, mostly after 20 minutes on my skin. Nevertheless these 20 minutes are beautiful. It reminds me of old airports in the 80s and I love it.

I still don't really understand why I feel so low when I'm wearing it, maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's very bitter, or because I have bad memories from the time I used my first bottle of Concentre d`Orange Verte, or maybe it's so potent and promises so much that life itself seems gloomy in comparison.

Shtefitza

This is so beautiful! Starts with a sharp citrussy orange and cedar in the background. Patchouli develops next, still fresh, edgy, energetic, mixed with fading citrussy scent. As the citrus fades, the perfume gets mellow, sumptuous, almost musky.
Finding orange verte concentre closes my search for midday pick me up perfume, something to refresh me and wake me up in a busy day. I love layering it over my more complicated perfumes I sprayed in the morning and by the midday they either wore off or I got used to them...

jozemo

hyper citrus base perfume, a nice day scent, smells very elegant and refreshing to me, a definite go to scent.

Oslo-fjord

As always with Hermes.. Excellent! It`s a very classy citrus scent, far above all other in the same league.

celadoster

A linear citrus fragrance. Elegant, but very strong! Lemon 3+ cedar 3+ patchouli 2+
Delicious!

empathyboy

So much better than eau d'Orange verte, not just in longevity but in it's entire composition. It smells just so much more natural. I also like eau too, but I can sometimes find it a little cloying. Concentre on first application is like the incredible aroma when someone peels an orange, except it is as different as what a satsuma is to a tangerine. It is like a wonderful fruit of the orange family you never knew existed. The dry down is more mossy and green and slightly woody and whenever I spray it on my sleeve, I bury my nose into the material throughout the day and escape to a place that is beautiful and serene. It is the one fragrance that universally attracts the most compliments and generates the most smiles and I love it beyond measure.

ziegyzieg

This fragrance is very linear, all I can smell is just orange orange and more orange with a hint of cedar in the base. Longevity and projection are temperamental on me, if I'm lucky it lasts for more than 5 hours, but sadly it doesn't happen that often.

Its linearity can also be considered its downfall as it can be a bit boring after a while.
Nevertheless it is a good fragrance but probably better if it's a bit cheaper

axy

Hermes-type mixture of the best perfumes for use in
shades of citrus, light floral fragrance with the intensity of fresh reinforcements
than men, but very close to the unisex perfume is touted as the use of
especially concentrating on edt version, lasting and noticeable
On hot days, I would recommend my dear wonderful scent of citrus fragrance..

brigittehiroshi

A fresh and powerful fragrance. The first time I tried this perfume I could not stop smelling over and over again. Such a good quality aroma that almost becomes addictive. The real bitter, sour and refreshing aroma of green oranges, yet completely lacks longevity.

Very good projection, good sillage, but incredibly poor longevity, at least on my skin. I've worn this cologne in summer and also in winter and even if I used a very good quantity, aroma completely disappears after one hour. It's a pitty because it would be a very good edt if It had a far better longevity

Karenin

Concentré d´Orange Verte (CdOV) from Hermes is the ultimate joy maker. Its exceptional quality becomes obvious from the moment its first drops land on your skin. The zesty orange note combined with the mint have an invigorating effect on me. This explosion of tart freshness is, however, relatively short-lived as the scent calms down and proceeds to its less pronounced herbal-woody heart and base (including the notes of basil, patchouli and cedar).

From the longevity point of view, do not expect any wonders from CdOV. In fact, I find the adjective "concentré" a little misleading. It has to be understood in the context of traditional colognes. On my skin, CdOV turns into a skin scent rather swiftly. I do catch gentle whiffs every now and then, but this fragrance, just like any other eau de cologne, is meant to evaporate quickly in order to be reapplied (in generous quantities) a number of times during the day, which I´m delighted to do.

On balance, if you want to avoid smelling ozonic-aquatic-sporty in the heat of the summer but are rather looking for a refreshing, citrus-based summer scent, I wholeheartedly recommend this exquisite cologne from one of the finest present-day fragrance houses. Have fun!

P.S. I´d like to salute "calyx93" and "Grottola" for their truly inspirational reviews of this juice :-)

es tan impresionante el olor, fresco, aromatico, delicado, real, pero no dura nada, el olor es encantador, pero su duración es pesima, realmente una decepcion, si durara mas seria una joya, q lastima.

Concentre d'Orange Verte is simply the best orange chypre I've encountered.

It is zesty, almost eye searing, with sweet orange, key lime and lemongrass up front, yet inviting and calmingly woodsy underneath with notes of oakmoss, cedar, sweet patchouli, wet earth and pine.

Wearing Orange Verte is like walking along the edge of a brook barefoot on a dappled forest floor and finding an orange tree growing there. You pause for some minutes admiring its beauty, then go on your way.

Orange Verte is often criticized for its poor longevity, but it lasts well enough if you spray liberally on clothes and don't expect much sillage. And if you miss the orange after an hour, simply reapply— Orange Verte is so classy and understated, no one will ever guess you are wearing 12 or 15 sprays by the end of the day.

And anyway, who cares. Orange Verte is a fragrance for the wearer. Wear it when you want to feel happy or soothed. Wear it to bed.

Another citrus cologne for whom like citrus line. But there is a subtle difference: this one is warm, not cool and fresh! Dry down was interesting to me, it was getting warmer!
Longevity is good but sillage is below average. This was not such remarkable cologne to me.

It's so good and so brilliantly crafted, it breaks your heart..
I love it to bits.

One of the best citrus scents in existence, Concentré D'Orange Verte plays all the cards right. From the get-go, it's all about fresh, fruity citrus. Oranges, limes, mango, and some basil combine to create and extremely cooling citrus and projects quite well and lasts a good 4 to 5 hours projection-wise. Kinda reminds me of Froot Loops, actually. Perhaps my only gripe about Concentré is that it can be quite "perfumey", but it's so pleasant and refreshing that anything negative gets usurped for the most part. Completely unisex and makes an amazing everyday scent in the summer. It's a bit fruitier, sweeter, and not as stuffy as Eau d'Orange Verte, in my opinion.

I also love the bottle. Frosted dark green glass looks so cool.

FYI, this one is less of a nod to the classic Eau de Colognes than it is more like Eau Sauvage. Really, this is Eau Sauvage, but with more oranges and fruitier, if you want something to compare it to.

The "BEST SUMMER SCENT" .... Luxurious Citrus Scent! Wonderfull Ligth and Rich !!! People talks about 45 min longevity !!! Not true for the "Concentre" !! It's a full day longevity and on your clothes ... more than a day !! One of my favorite scent !!!

pamacs

At first smells terribly bitter, but it turns to fresh and orangeous. Smells like a mediterranean country. Perfect scent, but a very very poor longevity, 30-45 mins.

Call me names, call me whatever you want but I find Cd'OV a bit crude. I quite like the opening even if it inevitalby reminds me of Malle's Bigarade Concentree (that's way better than this). IMO the problem with this composition by JC Ellenà is in the drydown where the minty-orange accord turns to smell exactly like Last Al Limone Verde (an italian washing-up liquid). I know it may sounds blasphemous, but anytime I try to approach this composition, my olfactory nerves transmit to my brain the wrong impulses and Last Al LImone Verde suddendly shows up in my mind...

Oh my!!! Now we’re in the big leagues. This is one that you have to damn sure look nice to wear. Sophisticated and not at all like the name suggests. So smooth, buttery citrusy depth. Mmmm mmm mmmmmmmmm

The quality of the ingredients is evident in Concentre d`Orange Verte. Hermes never fails to impress. The orange in my mind is a thick skinned, softball sized, perfectly ripe fruit from Southern California, deliciously sunkissed and organically grown. This and basil are the most prominent notes in both the top and heart.

Basil really sets this fragrance apart, very dark green, herbal, yet not bracing.

In union with amber and patchouli, Concentre d`Orange Verte offers a wonderful velvety warmth. Even the waxy rind is present in the tempered drydown. Yes, this is a warm orange that dotes on the wearer with its comforting quality and strength.

Fortifying, yet soothing. Attractive and astute in the most natural way.

My friend gave me this fragrance, I thought it would be like other citrusy fragrance, which mostly get me headache. But I was wrong! This fragrance is very nice, citrusy with a layer of powdery on top of it. But I wish it has better longevity.

Jaki

It nearly took the inside of my nose out at first sniff, after that it settled to a dark bitter orange with intense woody notes and eventually dried down to a lovely warm cedary smell. I liked it but prefered the lighter Les Colognes Hermes Eau d`Orange Verte.

Hermes CONCENTRE D'ORANGE VERTE is a beautiful citrus aromatic which opens bright and juicy, just like a ripe orange. Both the peel and the fruit are represented here, and they smell quite appealing. This is not, however, a sweet composition; it is clean and fresh--not sticky--on the skin.

The fragrance develops relatively quickly to a greenish-woody drydown, which is equally beautiful. I find the drydown to be aromatic enough to make CONCENTRE D'ORANGE VERTE seem a bit on the masculine side, though many women would still feel comfortable wearing it. This is definitely a perfect summertime scent for anyone who loves fresh, authentic-smelling orange and equally fresh basil combined harmoniously with cedar and patchouli.

I have a purse spray of this pleasing composition, but may have to acquire a larger bottle, as I find it most addicting! The only other fragrance I've found with this nice of an orange presentation is Bond no 9 LITTLE ITALY, but I'm not sure yet which I like most... The longevity of this concentrated version does seem quite a bit better than the cologne.

mrdibiagio

Excelente, una explosion de naranjas amargas sobre suaves notas de madera. longebidad razonable en la piel, la fragancia no se siente a distancia sino en las proximidades de quien la lleva puesta.

Happyme2009

I am a woman, and this is definitely unisex; sharp citrus and green herbs, wet dirt after rain, a wind of freshness, very pleasant but not lasting very well. Reminds me of exotic drinks, like a chaipirinia or mojito. Lemony, minty, basil, and then nothing. Interesting but not sexy; very fresh, wish it would last longer, good to wear when you are dress sporty, not for office, romance, or evening.

Wim Janssens

It is still an "Eau", but stronger.
So don't expect it to last for hours... .
It was already a fantastic creation and now you have a stronger concentration.
One of the best refreshing, timeless fragrances, for men and women!

It really reflects Hermès in it's purity.

svillatoro

It doesn't last long on any skin, because longevity is poor. There are other good Hermes options but I don't recomend this one.

fqgouvea

This is fun at first, with a strong lemon note dominating. Unfortunately, on my skin it doesn't last very long at all. An hour or so, and all that's left is a pleasant, but not excellent, drydown. I was hoping that "concentré" meant that it would last longer, but clearly not so.

honeypoppyseed

This scent is really amazing on men. On women? I'm not so sure.

The orange and cedar is so strong that on a women, it would seem the statement she is making is trying to make would be about her androgyny.

Either way, it's a strong message and anyone who wears it will carry that strength.

mypersonalharmonics

It's been a hot afternoon here in Athens and this green orange potion stood out as an oasis.
This may now become my favourite unisex scent for summerwear.Refreshing but earthy, simple but chic, not sporty at all.
I don't like sporty unisex scents.
