Simply Jil Sander Touch of Leather by Jil Sander is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Simply Jil Sander Touch of Leather was launched in 2016. Top notes are Bergamot and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Violet, Nutmeg and Cedar; base notes are Leather, Patchouli and Amber.

The refined chypre fragrance by Jil Sander from 2014 - Simply Jil Sander - will receive three new versions, available for a limited time, which are called The Art of Layering, coming out in October 2016.

The Art of Layering collection includes three fragrances which represent the dominant notes of the top, middle and base of the original composition: Touch of Mandarin, Touch of Violet and Touch of Leather. The new editions are to be mixed with the original, so you get to choose which accord and mood to emphasize. All three new fragrances can also be used individually or mixed together without the original.

Touch of Mandarin intensifies the fresh and fruity character of the top notes of mandarin. Touch of Violet enhances the floral character of the heart with violet flower and leaf accords. Touch of Leather enhances the whole composition by emphasizing the leather from the base, making the scent intense and seductive.

The Art of Layering fragrances will be available in bottles of 40 ml Eau de Parfum each.

this one starts with citruses, leather and woods. i get something slight spicy after a minute. the violet seems to grow stronger over time, along with nutmeg. i can sort of see the bronze comparisons because of the violet/citrus thing but that is a lot sweeter. the leather is really pretty in this. it starts more on the trad. masculine side but becomes much more trad. feminine/unisex in the drydown. reminds me of another perfume i cannot place. i really like this one a lot.

I am slowly exploring perfumes with a leather note. I was super excited to find a bottle of this for a great price. I blind bought it and crossed my fingers.
I wasn’t disappointed. The leather note dominates and is made more complex by the other notes, especially the nutmeg and amber. This perfume makes me think it could be a signature scent for one of the Pink Ladies!

scentiful

Gross sour suit store smell. Putting me off perfume altogether.

Simply EDP is one of my favorite scents of all time. Really excited to see these “ touch of” bottles recently on fragnet. So scent wise yes it is all the leather from
the original and nothing but. Ignore the listed notes. There is no nutmeg. No mandarin. Just the leather. Which would be amazing BUT my skin ate it right up. it’s only been a couple hours and I can barely smell it at all. I am so glad I never bought a bottle for the exorbitant asking prices from eBay. It’s worth the $20 I paid for it but man I wish it performed as well as the original! Even half as well, but nope not even half :(

Arrived this morning, it was a blind buy as I love powdery musky violet notes in perfumes , but I knew straight away that this is something I already smelled before!
It took me few seconds to work out that it’s nearly identical to both Lagerfeld’s Karleidoscope and Ellen Tracy Bronze! No need to own all 3, as they are virtually the same powder , violets, some patchouli and amber, nice and enjoyable for daywear, or something lighter for evening , but nothing groundbreaking, just clean and nice.

The only downside to this AMAZING scent is the damn small bottle and rarity/hard to find-ness of it.

This is fkin perfect. Why even layer- why ruin perfection? This is simple and classic, reminds me of a lighter Cuir de Lancome.

I only have Simply Sander in the EDT, so this Touch of Leather is too precious for wearing with that EDT. This could layer under anything- Shalimar, ELDOs, Alaias, etc. It's got a Bottega vibe (minus the plum and patch) too.

This is perfect. Needs a 100ml STAT. Or even 200ml. Get this if you find it.

Never heard of Jill Sanders before. Thanks to this site and the reviews I took a chance and purchased a few from the line. I am not disappointed yet. They are very decent juice for the price I paid for them. I did not break the bank and they smell awesome. Something every woman should have in her collection if you are a perfume hoarder like me.

This is part of the The Art of Layering collection.

The new editions are to be mixed with the original, so you get to choose which accord and mood to emphasize......
This one to emphasize The Leather note!

It opens very similar to the original then turns slightly more animalic and leathery with a light powdery trail. It's a decent scent but quite subtle compared with the original. Probably my favourite of the three but I still prefer the original.

This is very simple fragance. Simply leather, good quality one. It reminds me very much of Christian Dior's Fahrenheit, softer, less into face. You this perfume the others to make them more warm and leathery. I am very impressed.

Very soft and feminine rendition on the leather topic. Not animalic, not butch, not screaming "tannery".
As this perfume is meant for layering with the regular "Simply" fragrance there is no big sillage/projection with this one.
I prefer to wear it alone and enjoy the unbeastly leather scent. There is a floral hint as well and some vanilla. Medium-sweet. Neither candy nor dry leather.
Some citrus involved as well.
Very pleasant, good for office wear, very enjoyable.
I might try to layer TouchOfLeather with some of my perfumes, I could imagine this works for a number of orientals or fruity chypres.
