La Vie Est Belle L’Absolu by Lancôme is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women. La Vie Est Belle L’Absolu was launched in 2014. La Vie Est Belle L’Absolu was created by Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo. Top notes are Black Currant and Pear; middle notes are Iris, Orange Blossom, Damask Rose and Jasmine; base notes are Praline, Cashmere Wood, Vanilla and Tonka Bean.

Lancome launched La Vie Est Belle in 2012, which was followed by editions such as La Vie Est Belle L'Eau de Parfum Legere from the 2013 and La Vie Est Belle L'Eau de Toilette from 2014. In the second half of 2014, La Vie Est Belle L'Absolu is also launched, more intense and more luxurious than the previous ones.

It was developed by perfumes Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo, who chose to emphasize the sweet notes of the original. The composition opens with accords of black currant and pear. The heart is composed of sweet iris, orange blossom, jasmine absolute and Damascus rose. The base includes tonka bean, praline and cashmere.

The perfume will be represented by actress Julia Roberts again. It is available in bottles of 20 and 40 ml.

The nectar of the gods.... Really it's that gorgeous, very very happy with my perfume fair find.

I’m selling this on Mercari for $200. Same username. Just search Lancome La Vie Est Belle L’absolu.

I have no doubt that Lancôme slightly changed the formula of this one. When this version was released years ago, I immediately bought it, and it was my signature scent as I couldn’t stand the other versions of LVEB. This one was strong back then, but not overwhelming or headache-inducing. After finishing my bottle, I moved on to other fragrances. However, last year I decided to re-visit this out of curiosity and was shocked. I can’t stand it now, and I can’t remember it ever being this strong. It still smells beautiful, but now it also has a slightly immature sweetness to it. Can’t stand wearing it on my skin, so I only spray it on my coats. This is not how I remember it smelling like.

girldeadbug

Okay so I had this but it wasn’t as strong as people were saying so I sold it. Got a sample of Oui LVEB to compare it to. On my skin, L’Absolu is stronger but the scents are practically the same. So if you don’t want to pay L’Absolu prices then just get yourself Oui LVEB and spray away. :)

lechickpea

This could be called La Vie Est Belle eau Blackcurrant. It's still in the LVEB family but with more powdery iris and a big boost of dark purple blackcurrant. It's not juicy fruity, it's like a syrupy, almost boozy blackcurrant. Maybe like a blackcurrant-based wine note - does that exist? Unsurprisingly, out of this world performance, 2 to 3 sprays will do ya for the whole day and night.

A bit "grandma" or "cough syrup" at the forst spray bit after like 30 seconds...its just very ontense la vie est belle. Deeper, stronger, sexier. Really nice but discontinued

Veronika95

I'm gonna say this as a joke, knowing I really like this perfume, but it truly was the first thing that came to my mind-this is a La Vie Est Belle Grandma edition 😂 but no one said grandma can't smell nice, she's a classy grandma with pearls, giant hat and cigarette on a stick. I think it's the age of this gem. But joking aside, this is really nice version of LVEB. It reminds me a little of Lancôme Oud Bouquet mixed with LVEB. Super sweet and warm and deep. And super classy! Don't fall in love tho, it's getting harder and harder to find some pieces left.
Oh and the bottle is absolutely stunning!! The classic LVEB look with a hint of steel. Dazzling

nandalyne

Just received this gem from FragranceNet and oh. My. God! This is the BEST La Vie without any shadow of a doubt! The dirty patchouli and overpowerness are gone to give space for the pear, praline, and cashmeran to shine. Way, way improved this version is. If you like sweet scents, RUN for it! It won’t last long on their website and the price is pretty reasonable!

Edit: cotton candy all the way! I get whiffs of it the whole day with just one little spray. Magical!

lareverie

I have a bottle laying around. Tried it out once or twice but it's just too intense for me. Lingers a bit too well for my liking. Anyone who would be interested shoot me a message! EU only ;)

Bondno9girl

I finally got it on fragrancenet so hurry because this is super rare! Run or take a jet definitely dont walk or think about it.
Edit: ok I received my bottle and omg its the stronger sweeter version of the original, I adore it so much! I do 5 sprays and that is enough to carry me all day but I am an avid oversprayer. The cap on this is super heavy, no cheap plastic like the new bottles. Quality of the bottle has definitely gone down hill. You get a more luxurious experience with this one! Definitely worth the money if you like the original.

bashoori

So this has no Patchouli? I gotta sample this one

Claire brad

Think im missing something compared to all the other reviews in terms of performance.

I can hardly smell it, seems a mere shadow of the original... Meh

MaxieF

Finally got my hands on a bottle!!!

L'absolu has

-Less Iris (less powdery) than the original
-no detectable citrus
-More praline than the original
-Way stronger than the original
-Way sweeter than the original

If you smell this next to the original it's almost like the original is a weak fragrance which is crazy. I don't know when I'll wear this because it's THAT strong. But I'm SO happy to have this.

imimsd12

I love this parfum ..tiny bottle hugh and Beautiful fragrance very hard fined..

zina saleh

My favourite la vie est belle! So strong and sexy , love this so much more than the original , I have this over a year now and time to get another bottle . The perfume is so strong 2 sprays will be enough . Love love love

returnatyourperil

this is LVEB on drugs (literally) the pear and praline are all amped up, resulting in a sticky and thick concoction. the patchouli in the original LVEB is gone, here it has been replaced with lots of iris and cashmere. the first time i wore this, i felt somewhat of a headache because of how dense and sticky sweet this is, but i got a massive compliment from my mom, so i decided to keep it :D its not something that im going to wear everyday, ill wear it for special events where i want to make my presence known(the sillage is hugeeee)
i appreciate the art of this perfume.

RainbowGirl

Question: Should I be smelling patchouli in here? Because, I do!

Edited to add: After I got over the initial strong smell of patchouli (which was shocking... but did fade rather quickly), was that this smells a whole lot like La Nuit Tressor... but then fades to smell exactly like La Nuit Tressor a la folie. Both amazing perfumes! I own one, and own a travel size of the other, so for me... I wasted a whole lot of money on a perfume I already own. Ha ha.

La Nuit Tressor, La Nuit Tressor a la Folie, and La Vie Est Belle A'bsolu are all great Lancome perfumes, that smell very simular. La Nuit Tressor has a good amount of patchouli, La Nuit Tressor a la folie has zero patchouli with tonka bean at the dry down instead, and La Vie Est Belle L'absolu has a hit of patchouli at the beginning (or something that smells a lot like patchouli) that fades to a pretty tonka bean dry down, with a hint of black currant. Beautiful.

Personally, if I had to choose from these three (which I don't, because I stupidly now own all three) I would choose La Nuit Tressor. Although I am not typically a patchouli fan, for me, the patchouli lifts this dark berry fragrance and makes it something...irresistible.

clemmy

Beware this perfume is really strong and concentrated. One spray is enough and last hours...
Last year I made a mistake ordering online this perfume that arrived in a big bottle with so little jus (40ml) ...at the beginning I felt a bit ripped off, but immediately I was caught by this delicious scent never-ending.
It is a gourmand fragrance. At start I can smell a lot of star anise, while others smell liquorice...at the base will stay creamy with sugar and vanilla.
It is so powerful, like the good old days where one spray was enough for a day!
Sillage and longevity at maximum level, an overdose of sweetness, which has the heart of LVEB but also more depth and intensity.
I believe it is limited edition, in fact I cannot find it around anymore.
If you love LVEB and gourmand notes, it is highly recommended, since this is different and more powerful. You will smell divine!!!

Has this fragrance been discontinued??
Someone comment or message me please
I really want this one, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere

Jacklyn's Perfumery

An underrated hidden gem in the whole LVEB line. This is THE elixir version for sure. Super long lasting and the sillage is incredible. You don't need to spray past 2 sprays max and lower on the chest when you spray it. Instead of this being Iris heavy like the original this is heavier on praline and pear..A purer juicier form of the fragrance with no rough edges and considered the better, more loved form of the original version because of the way this was crafted. Plus the bottle is gorgeous. This may have been discontinued because I don't see it even listed on the U.S. Lancome website though it may still be sold on other sites. If you want this now get it while you still can. It's worth the purchase because if you love LVEB for the price you pay this is one that delivers in every way.

Eternity Girl

My birthday present to myself on a significant birthday but it took so long to arrive I almost forgot about it. I got side tracked and bought a sweet ruby and diamond ring. Something I have wanted since I was 7 years old.
So the perfume arrived, Im wearing my new jewellery and I feel a million bucks. And Ive reminded myself that life is be enjoyed and indulged, when possible, in amongst the bills and uncertainty.

La Vie Est Belle - Life is Beautiful. !!

And if it isnt right now, go and do something really special for yourself. It could be jewellery or an art print or a perfume. Whatever makes you smile and love your life.

RachelSeun

If you think the original La Vie Est Belle is too strong, then you need to just RUN from this one! This fragrance is seriously a powerhouse, fantastic projection and great longevity. Do not worry about topping up throughout the day, there’s no need!!. If you are familiar with the original and haven’t smelt this one, know that they are very similar in fragrance, it’s just with this flanker the woody notes really show through and becomes La Vie Est Belle’s deeper and more sensual big sister. A great flanker to have in your collection and a great fragrance for those special occasions.

Usagichan44

The best version of LVEB. Just praline without much headache-causing patchouli! I regret buying the 20 ml, even though you just need one spray

Kots_Tanya

Let me start by saying I don’t like original la vie est Belle, mainly because it’s too heavy on patchouli. The l’absolu is much better, dries down with iris and mainly cashmere, sweetness from praline and I can smell a little bit of rose. So it is much more pleasant to my nose, the only issue I have is I don’t see the sillage and longevity that everyone talking about. It turns into very close to skin scent within about 4 hours, not sure may be it’s my skin.
Also the l’absolu reminds me slightly of diors poison girl but more elegant, less sweet and more powdery.
Ok so I got intense and I still love the l’absolu more and so does my husband.

sarah.brooks.1

Please lancome make a 6.7oz of this beautiful parfum..I need it life..

Ariella_essenzia_lux

This is easily my signature, she is the Venus of gourmand deliciousness . Be prepared to get noticed when you wear this ;) Yes, it is similar to the original la vie est belle BUT she's a lot more put together, has gotten her ADHD under control and doesn't scream to get noticed. She just is who she is and gets praised for it , get it? ). I have never gathered so many compliments for any other perfumes as I have for this scent. First of all, women especially love this fragrance. I got compliments from nurses, dr's, gmas I mean you name it and men too. The silage on this is excellent and so is longevity but sadly I don't smell it on me but others surely do. As soon as I enter the train I get compliments , no joke this is potent stuff. High quality niche level perfume with a reasonable price.

Annabear

For moments when you’re feeling frivolous and only surrounding yourself with the scent of red fruit pastilles can satisfy.
I don’t own the original LVEB, far too popular and sweet for my taste and to be honest I bought this on a whim and because it was discounted.
So, yes this is also very sweet but in a somehow uplifting way, not a sickening sweet. Great little performer, definitely a set and forget for the whole day kind of fragrance. It’s economical, as the bottle is 40 mls you just need one or two sprays at the most. The bottle is quite attractive, in fact there’s more bottle than contents.
For occasions when you just need a sugar hit - and who doesn’t have one of those from time to time. Better on your skin than on your hips.

florally

This opens on me with that same licorice-esque punch I get with Shalimar Parfum Initial, which makes sense because it's also bergamot-iris-caramel. Happily it only lasts a minute or two!

It very quickly settles into the most unbelievably gorgeous caramel-lipsticky iris blend. I just adore it.

Most gourmands are unbearably artificial on me and turn sickly; this doesn't. At all. The lipstick iris feels synthetic in the sense that it reminds me of something manmade, i.e. lipstick, and somehow that juxtaposition with the bakery-caramel praline makes the latter more realistic? The contrast is what makes both notes so lovely.

ForrealMe2

So sexy and so good..dang! This is still good after all these years...it's such a sweeter purer form of the original..and the original is a bomb of a fragrance with the iris but this one is eloquent because the iris does not take over here but is blended in way better than the original..way more balanced with the praline..oh my goodness..how lovely...what is so wonderful about this is that this smells like a more corrected LVEB..it's what LVEB should have been...when I owned that one over time the liquid began to change the overall composition and it wasn't balanced anymore and it only became stronger on the iris with all the citrus toned down and the iris overwhelmed me where I didn't like it as much anymore and when I went to the store and saw this I had to test it at the time when it was available in stores and I fell in love instantly..I realized this is a better take on iris...more juicy and I believe it's the pear that does this as I seem to take a liking to the way pear really makes fragrances better when done right..this one over time still remains the same and the performance is great it's loud and last for hours..it is a smaller bottle but the juice is potent..as it settles into the dry down it begins to smell a little fresh which i don't mind...but even though it changes on your body the fragrance still stays and it's still projecting beastly...this is a good one..all the LVEB's will last long you just gotta find one you like..I am intrigued and want to try the intense version because of the hazelnut and I think it would be a worthy purchase because you know it's going to last..

Update: you only need one spray of this on you..i put one spray on my chest and it is overwhelming so put it lower on your body or wrists and you will smell it for sure..i sprayed this like i usually do other perfumes and i got a headache one day so DO NOT spray this a lot it is very heady and strong but i love that... one spray is enough! That's incredible!

Note: I'm getting some similarities of Coco Mademoiselle with this one and so the rose really comes out with a sophisticated musk...I can't spray this one near my neck anymore and I feel the same way about Coco Mademoiselle so that's how I know there are similarities..this is so polarizing I have to just move it a little down on my chest area and then I can handle it more and one spray on my wrists that I rub together..which I never usually do but for this fragrance I can't spray more than two sprays so I have to do it to get equal balance of the scent on my wrists...But you don't need much of this..heavenly! Crazy enough if you couldn't handle Coco Mademoiselle this is almost just like it but with the slight powdery Iris and praline..try this and see if maybe this would better suit you..but be warned it's a powerhouse..you will get your money's worth on this one!
The older Mugler fragrances use to last this long and even out perform this..I wish they would go back to that because that's what we loved about them..I hear mixed reviews and from what I see their newer scents maybe the only ones lasting longer but then some say no..I sprayed my angel again and that use to last me all day up until the next day..not anymore and that's disappointing..but la vie will last you hours...they have now trumped Mugler on performance!

elmccullar

Pure heaven in a perfume bottle! This is LVEB on a sugar high and I love it! It’s got the same ladylike base as LVEB, but with a sugary marshmallow topping. I’m obsessed. I crave this perfume. It’s one of the only perfumes that lasts more than a couple of hours on my skin.

AllHalliwellsEve

@Lailalovesperfumes: I was the same as you, I had bought this last year & thought I had made a mistake in buying it because this stuff is at the nuclear level, lol. But I found especially with this LVEB flanker, because it's so potent & strong, to do the cloud gesture, spray and walk into it, then you're good to go. Even just two spritzes in the air will last me the whole day. Hope this will help you hun and everyone else trying this flanker. :)

Blushpinkpeonies

Wow, is this incredible! This is the ultimate LVEB flanker. It's truly delicious, so rich, so smooth, so heady. I like LVEB but I adore L'absolu. Super sweet and long-lasting, with good sillage. The bottle is a work of art, so heavy and expensive looking. Must try for LVEB fans!

Edited: too sweet and potent for me unfortunately. Absolutely beautiful but I just can't wear it. You have to really love heavy, sugary sweet scents to appreciate this.

greyhoundmom

I am currently having a torrid love affair with LVEB and have been exploring the flankers.. so far my favorites are this one and Intense.. but LVEB is my ride or die. It's been awhile since I've truly felt I had a signature fragrance as I am rather fickle and fall in love with something new all the time, but LVEB has really won me over.

Absolu is the ultimate dessert flanker. This makes me so hungry when I wear it. Straight up buttery, slightly burnt, sugary praline. I don't get that same vibe/feel as I do from LVEB, I find that these fragrances are sufficiently different from each other that it isn't redundant to own both. Likewise I find it completely different from LVEB Intense, which definitely has the LVEB DNA but more restrained, with smooth hazelnut instead of praline and fuzzy tuberose in place of the sharp orange blossom and patchouli.

Anyway, it's quite strong! Two sprays will do. Maybe one spray will do but I love it so much I have to do two! Where LVEB is my ultimate fruitchouli, Absolu is my ultimate gourmand. I literally smell like a bakery when I wear this. It's sooo delicious, utterly photorealistic praline. I've never smelled anything like it and I've put my nose on quite a few fragrances with praline notes.

The bottle is gorgeous, by the way. Very heavy and high quality, the juice is lovely dark amber and the top is metal. A classy touch!

AllHalliwellsEve

THIS IS SIMPLY MAGICAL!! If you don't like that strong, screechy patchouli note in the first LVEB (which can be a bit off putting) then you will love this one, because the patchouli is pretty much not noticeable in this, to my nose anyways. It's got the most gorgeous, buttery iris note, so warm, creamy... very seductive! Every time I wear it I get at least one compliment from both men & women, people asking me constantly what am I wearing? While I found the original La Vie Est Belle to be more of a floral fragrance, L’Absolu is a decadently sweet, true gourmand. The longevity of this fragrance is amazing & the main reason I would recommend investing in it. Don't forget as with all of the LVEB perfumes, they're VERY strong, so do the cloud gesture, spray and walk into it, then you're good to go.

sarah.brooks

I love this version ..and I'm buying another one.

marialena888m

I'm not a fan of the LVEB line, let me just start with that, I just don't care for it. But this is a scent fit for a princess, the quality is shockingly good, better than many niches double its price. It's rich, deep, smooth, and so utterly delicious. You get all the notes listed and they meld and blend together flawlessly, a divine symphony of sweetness. You'll smell like dessert, but the most expensive dessert crafted by the King's personal chef. This scent makes original LVEB smell like a less refined, pedestrian copy in comparison. Worth hunting down for. Two spritzes is all that's needed, it's very potent and will stick to you till your next shower (and maybe beyond). A head-turner, and you will get compliments left and right.
If you are a gourmand-scent lover looking for something elegant, sensuous and refined, try it. Worth every penny. I've had my bottle for more than 3 years, and it smells even better now than I remembered, it is aging beautifully so far. I save this one for special occasions because I don't want to run out.

sarah.brooks

My next one right here.. this collection is better than a lot out there right now and bottles are limited .. this is so beautifully sweet I'm loving it thanks lancome

Ladybird93

I would never buy a fragrance that doesn´t last whole day. This perfume has no problem with longevity, it lasts all day and just two sprits are enough. I would say it is great, people around you recognize the smell. My colleague asked what perfume I was wearing, so I told her LVEB Absolu version. So she went to the store and tried it, but on her it was too much. But what is the point of buying sooo expensive perfumes such as Chloe´s, and after 1 or 2 hours there is nothing left? I would rather buy this, as it is still there after 10 hours :) I highly recommend this perfume.

HelenaZ

I tried this yesterday at Debenhams, and oh my god. It was every bit as beautiful as i had imagined it to be. To me its reminiscent of lipstick and makeup partially but its so sweet too. I adore it. Projection was really really good as with two sprays i got complimented much later in the day! Lasting power is also impressive. These two things dont come as a surprise to me though given its an intense version of la vie Est belle! Fantastic. I really hope to get hold of it one day.

JacquieDS

I can’t seem to find this anywhere at shops in Australia?

iamoir

People generally complain that we don't need Absolue version (or the Intense one) because the Original is already nuclearly sweet and potent, but Absolue and Intense don't necessarily mean the original juice x10, no, it means a different perfume, in the same family, as they are flankers of course, but still, their juices are TWEAKED. For the better in my opinion in all LVEB flankers (even EDTs)

I do not like the Original, in fact I almost despise it. But the flankers though, guys, do give them a shot. Absolue is another flanker of the LVEB line that I test and approve, it is better than the Original.

It is sweet, it is really, really, really sweet. Heady and dizzying sweetness... this is the overall final impression you are going to get from the juice. Spray it ONCE on your decolletage first days of spring when it's still kinda cold, or on those days of autumn when it's the end of summer-beginning of winter, but ONCE, and let the scent fully wrap you around, it is beautiful, it behaves as a perfume and not as sticky - cloying burnt sugar mess with some smoke pretending to be patchouli...(= the Original, duuuh...).

It's a festive scent, it's joyful, happy, smells like a celebration, like Christmas gatherings, like the happiness that is all around and everywhere, during Christmas time, a spritz of the Absolue will instantly put a smile on your face...These findings come from a depressive and melancholy 25 yo woman, and trust me, if it did make me smile, then it truly what it promised to be. I rarely wear sweet scents, they are not my first choice, but the 10 ml decant that I got is pretty sufficient for me to use!

But let's get onto the juice, that's the reason we are here:
Now, the notes are awfully similar with the Original, but for the discerning nose they are not the same juice, now that I know both, I would never confuse them.
Opening is right away sweet bergamot, very juicy, very sweet, the blackberry is there, caramelic, melting, not harsh, not abrasive, lots of vanilla follows up, foody yes, but not offensive, it's blended well, better than the Original. So juicy-sweet!

I sense cassia(?), it's winey, something from Si Armani comes to play along, and then it's florals. Guys...this is BIG on florals, orange blossom is actually huge here, but it works with the overall blend, I would say that it's the key floral here, dipped in the most beautiful syrupy juice of fruit and melted caramel-vanilla.

The drydown will have a bit more amplified iris, balsamic nuances, something green, something cherry and something woody. A hazy note in the forefront that must be praline(?), cannot identify, sorry. Powdered and polished after-drydown. You will not notice when patchouli has settled in, it's so damn well blended that patchouli is not gonna offend anyone, and it's not medicinal, not smokey, not herbal, just enough woody, along with a very very carefully placed labdanum for a deeper balsamic base.

Let me repeat myself again: ONE SPRITZ and you get all the aforementioned bliss. Dare to use more or douse and this becomes HORROR.

See though, how the hand of Dominique Ropion is waaaay more evident in here? well done!

diana2015

@ perfume_infatuated, thanks for your feedback, but the problem still remains: Fragrantica should insert the patchouli note in LVEB L'Absolu, because it's definitely there. There are people who aren't big fans of patchouli, so they shouldn't be misled.

perfume_infatuated

@ diana2015

I guess the Lancome site tends not to list all of the notes. I can smell the cashmere wood note in this flanker, and I find it similar (as a note) to that cashmere note extensively found in Burberry Body.

diana2015

This one is the best of LVEB line IMO. LVEB L'Absolu is more refined, deeper and even longer lasting than the original. It's like a rich, scrumptious dessert, one you should indulge in! At the same time, it's elegant and flirty. However, I must say that some of the notes are incorrectly listed here on Fragrantica, and one particular note was omitted in this case - patchouli.

According to Lancôme official website (USA), the notes in L'Absolu are:

Transversal Notes: Iris, Fine delicacies accord
Top Notes: Pear, Blackberry
Middle Notes: Pallida Iris concrete, Jasmine Sambac and Orange Blossom absolutes
Base Notes: Heart of Patchouli essence, Vanilla, Cistus Labdanum.

On Lancôme France website the notes in L'Absolu are:

Notes transversales : Iris, Accord Gourmand
Notes de tête : Poire, Mûre
Notes de cœur : Concrète d'Iris Pallida, Absolus de Fleur d'oranger et de Jasmin sambac
Notes de fond : Essence de cœur de Patchouli

So, on the one hand the official websites mention patchouli as a base note in this fragrance (and indeed, whenever I tested L'Absolu I could definitely detect the patchouli note in it!). On the other hand, neither one of the official websites mentions the cashmere wood and rose (which are listed on Fragrantica) in L'Absolu.

Therefore, I think Fragrantica should update the perfume pyramid to fit the official formula of this fragrance.

miamia35

My all time favorite perfume. It was also my wedding day perfume. I love it, last long, doesn't change on me, it is simply perfection. Sweet, cozy, beautiful.

Daria_21

This was a blind buy a few weeks ago. I finally caved and ordered it off the Lancôme website, since I could not find it in any of the stores here in Ottawa, Canada. I have the original LVEB, which I absolutely love. This has been screaming my name for months, especially after reading all of the reviews you lovely ladies have thoughtfully written.

I really needed to wear this a few times to properly put my thoughts into words. I strongly feel this perfume needs a good hour to really fuse with your skin. Others have mentioned they smelled an odd top note, to which I wholeheartedly agree. To my nose, it's a tinny, almost metallic smell that is rather unpleasant. This odd top note lasts for a good half hour to 45 minutes, after which I am left with an absolutely stunning, rich, heavenly scent.

I wouldn't say this is ground-breakingly different than the original LVEB. No, they are of the same ilk, but L'absolu is richer, and with more depth and luxury. It's still very sweet, but the sweet isn't syrupy, like the original can sometimes be. Instead, it's a super rich, praline dream, enveloping you in the most heavenly cloud of deliciousness. It smells of absolute quality and luxury - you are most certainly getting what you pay for with this beauty.

On me, the projection isn't as enormous as many of the votes here. It was fairly heavy for the first few hours, after which the projection became moderate to heavy. I get wafts of this juice all day long, and others can definitely smell this on you (but it doesn't enter a room before you do). On clothes, it lasts for days and days, and on my skin, a good 12+ hours. I should also mention that the colour of the fragrance is nowhere near the picture on Fragrantica - in fact, it's not pink at all. It's very similar to the original, except with L'absolu, it's a richer, deeper peach colour.

Overall, this is a gorgeous fragrance, and I am very happy I bought it. It's a beautiful addition to my collection, and if you're a fragrance collector like me, and own and love the original LVEB - you need this in your life!

EDIT - October 26,2016

I've been told by several people now this is actually indeed very strong and can be a room filler. I got a little trigger happy this morning and sprayed two sprays on me, and my coworker said she could smell me from a mile away. That was awkward. I would highly recommend you spray this at LEAST an hour before you have to be somewhere. That first hour is seriously strong, and even after that first hour, it projects quite strongly and leaves an obvious trail. I still adore this though, and adore it even more for its strong projection. So many fragrances do a disappearing act on me, and I like the option of having others smell my fragrance if I want them to. Only now I know to go easy on the button - woops! This is even better than I originally thought - smells incredible and of pure quality.

Hopiesmom

This really is a gourmand grand prize winner! Intoxicating! I find it similar to my favorite flanker La Vie Est Belle Legere, but of course richer, more intense, and longer lasting. It doesn't have the patchouli sharpness that the original LVEB has, but that I also like, as neither does the Legere. But there is something a bit different than Legere. To me I get whiffs of baking dough smell in the Absolu now and then. Curious. It is just very creamy, comforting, lovely, lovely, lovely!! Lancome is doing an amazing job with their fragrances!! Bravo!

genny17

Just to add there is no musk in Absolu
I agree in warm weather it would be a bit much, but I also wear it in summer, just a spritz!!

Matt Abdul

This is the queen of all gourmand perfume in my opinion. It's like she is the new heiress of throne in gourmand sweet perfume kingdom which in the previous was owned by the legendary Shalimar Guerlain.

This perfume reach the finest and break the highest level of gourmandish scent where the Black Opium YSL, Si Giorgio Armani, Flower bomb V&R trying to achieve but never gotten to reach that level.

Another creation of gourmandish sweet perfume were created which I think closest to the finest as La Vie Est Belle l'absolu is also by Lancome. It's La Nuit Tresor. This also smells very amazing only that this one has the Rose fluffiness to it. Smells as good as L'absolu, but L'absolu has something that La Nuit Tresor don't have.

Extreme seductiveness !

Wear this and leave your trail and the people who smelled this will automatically force to glance or simply wanted to know who's that goddess of seduction. Even if they don't want to because of their envy on you. But it's already too late, because once they have sniff this, it will entering their smells nerve sense and trigger their brain and force to react and stare at you. They surrendered.

Just one squirt, yes one squirt is enough to bewitch or hypnotize the crowd.

It's Magic, seductive and remember Life Is Beautiful in absolute way.

genny17

Love Absolu , with its buttery iris note, so warm, creamy..smells like a niche fragrance...I will disagree with the former review, I have Intense, and dispite its name, it isn't that intense...it is less creamy, more like a sweet floral oriental...nice but not the same voluptuous vibe Absolu has ......I find Absolu more unique, and interesting..the longevity is great..lasts all day. Beautiful creation!

knotslandinggirl

I've sampled this and I absolutely love it, I already have the original but it lacked something,I don't know, however on sampling this it really is intense and what I love....a lot more body and really beautiful.

I'm not sure why an intense version is available when for me this is intense and packs a punch!

It is a shame it is only in 20 or 40 ml but I'm assuming 2 scooches are all you need to wear it all day.

I only applied a small bit on my wrist and when my husband walked into the room he could smell it immediately and asked what the beautiful aroma was and was at least 6 feet away!!

Edit:
I know own this, what a beauty this is,iris, woods, praline, vanilla, pear,Jasmine,I detect these notes and i see why this is absolu,it is strong, strong is the word, and if you want the complements and want people to know that they can smell you,and you know that they know they can, then this is the fragrance to own.
So beautiful!!

MeliMon92

Wow, I am in absolute shock of how much more beautiful this is than I thought it would be. I don't leave reviews stating the notes, because I don't know much about that, but this is absolutely gorgeous. I have the original, and this surpasses it. It's very sweet and quite strong on the initial spray, but the dry down is very smooth and sexy. Definitely luxury in a bottle. When I run out, I will be ordering more, because I can't imagine not having this is in my life lol.

auroramaria

Gorgeous version of LVEB heavy praline and smooth creamy vanilla with a good dose of patchouly, it smells amazing and lasts many hours leaving a fantastic trail for me the best version of LVEB

Ariana.b

The first thing that came into my mind when I smelled it was "La Vie Est Belle with a lot of patchouli". Then I came here and saw that there is no patchouli listed. It is a very beatiful perfume, I even like this better than the original, it's more mature and not so overly sweet. But for those who doesn't stand patchouli in perfumes may not be a sure choice, it's better to test it before buying.

Sasco

An expensive blind buy! Which was pretty dumb because I didn't really like the original much! That's not to say I'm one of those to sneer at gourmand or sweet frags - far from it, I have and love Pink Sugar. Trouble is, now I have THAT particular candy bomb in my collection, other sweetie fumes seem a bit superfluous!

I guess I was attracted to this version because of comments about sillage and longevity - so many expensive perfumes have done a disappearing act on me within a couple of hours of spritzing that I'm a sucker for anything described as having huge sillage. And the notes DID look good. Truth is, I don't love it. It's good stuff, I'm not denying that. Definitely has more depth and interest than the original - it seems more 'grown-up' somehow, and a lot less linear. It SMELLS like a really high quality, expensive fragrance. Lancôme is just good at this!

BUT....... Sillage is moderate. Another reviewer mentioned it staying close to her olive skin - I have that skin type too, so maybe that's why. And I've given myself four sprays instead of the recommended one! It's also VERY sweet. Yes, the iris is more dominant here, but there's also a ton of sugary stuff. For some reason it reminds me of a type of hard candy, rather than praline. I don't know........ I KNOW I smell good wearing it, and other people will probably really enjoy wafts of it as I pass them, but it's not one that gets ME particularly excited. Maybe it just needs time......

milazinha

If anyone has a bottle of this to swap, please PM me! I haven't smelled it yet, but I'm too curious to try.

Cams

This is gorgeous! Although it does not possess the heady sweetness of the original it has a sensual and intense depth which is so sexy!! It's a must try!

Happyme2009

This does not seem to be the same with LVEB L'Absolu de Parfum that I got, I love, and the Lancôme website is selling on the website.
The notes are slightly different.
The color of the juice is different, peach and definitely not pink.
Maybe it is a newer version that fragrantica has not added yet ?
According to o Lamcome website , the notes for LVEB L'Absolu de Parfum:
Top notes : Pear and Blackberry
Middle notes : Iris , Fine Delicacies, Palida Iris Concentrate, Orange Blossom and Jasmin Sambac Absolutes
Base notes : Heart of Patchouli essence

witchbaby777

I wanted this fragrance to my dress up go-to, but I couldn't resist. I need another bottle asap. It's similar to the original in notes, but the similarities stop for me on paper. The difference in concentration makes all the difference. Amplified yumminess without any of the syrupy elements you can get from a concentrated sweet perfume.

Lisa290872

This is adorable. I find the original a bit too sweet but I have the new florale and I now have this. With the iris addition this makes it wearable on my skin and whereas musk is just plain sexy, this perfume is feminine sexy. I am so in love with the smell on my skin I keep sniffing myself. I don't get that this perfume is strong, but I guess that's my oily olive skin that means I can wear this absoli and it just works on me. My other half doesn't like strong florals, which this clearly isn't, but he likes this.

mutintabailey

This perfume is too strong and (like a artificial scent) It smells so strong its offensive.
I just came back from the shops smelt three of these perfumes and this was just awful, way too intense the original is pretty and strong and lasts long.

nitsirk

I love this fragrance soooooooo much!! My Hubby likes it too, I told him to pick one out of a bunch and he picked this one for me to wear :) I like this one better than the original on my skin!! I'm so glad I got it

Matt Abdul

I have bought this last night & I'm so happy. It's a damn right choice, as soon as I have paid for it at the payment counter. I return back to the Lancome counter to get the tester bottle and spray in on my wrist dab it on my neck & another squirt at the back of my neck (on my shirt collar).

The first perfume that makes me feel like out of this world is COCO MADEMOISELLE CHANEL. It made me react so feel good inside, never ever in my life smell anything like it. Since then I never found any other perfumes that can make me feel like CM, not even the men's cologne.

But this, yess ! On the first sniff it reminds me of something, the same emotion & feeling effect that only CM did to me previously.

Now I have two the best perfume in my collection. Coco Mademoiselle Chanel & La Vie Est Belle L'Absolu Lancome. This two perfume will marked in my perfume experience history as the best & extraordinary perfumes.

Matt Abdul

Flankers.
Original - Like
Intense - My nose reject it
Absolu - Absolute Love

I like the Original one, but it feels like there something not complete in it. Not sure what is it but L'absolu complete everything that the Original lacks of !

It's like a fully completed version of La Vie Est Belle line. Everything I love is there. The longevity, the sillage, the projection, the sweet yet sophisticated no tacky smells at all, the sweet bitter smooth but not too bitter smells. It's a love for me !!

This is a one squirt per day kind of perfume. It will fully supply you the beautiful scent for the whole day up until night. Trust me on this.

I thought I will love the intense version because it has good amounts of LIKE & LOVE fans, but my nose don't agree with me. It reminds me of a dusty, old damp wood in an old abandoned house smells.

I haven't own this, but this will be my monthly perfume purchase for Dec after payday that's for sure plus this will be my first Lancome perfume ! And yes this will be on my 2nd favorite perfume rotation too.

The magic, went to Sephora last night and get a squirt of this on the paper tester strip put it in my room and imagine just one squirt can scented the whole room air. That's how remarkably this perfume is. This is a must get perfume to be added in the personal collection.

Fluffyandpuffy

I love this one the best of all of them, yes I have had em all. I might have a problem with my perfume addiction. Patchouli is not listed for this one? Why? It certainly does have it. This one has the best staying power so go lightly. It's sweeter and just delicious.

Soutty123

I admit to being a huge LVEB fan. I have the original EDP and the Intense version as well as this.

I love them all in different ways and for different reasons.

Sometimes I enjoy the crackly note of the original, sometimes I'm in the mood for the creaminess of the Intense and sometimes I'm in the mood for this one.

This is just as rich as the Intense version but it's boozy rather than creamy. Perfect for snuggling in front of the fire on a winter's evening with a big glass of red wine.

Very well blended and very good quality.

hyperfluff

I don't care for LVEB or any of the other flankers. But THIS I LOVE! It opens very similarly to LVEB Legere version. But this fragrance takes about 30-40 minutes to properly bloom. That's when it starts to smell amazing. Like a very buttery-smooth, much more sophisticated, elegant version of the original. So decadent and feminine. Amazing drydown. Has a touch of that 'lipstick' vibe that I usually associate with Guerlains. I smelled it on a stranger recently while out shopping and followed her around like a creep to try and figure out the rich, divine-candy scent that was emanating off her. We were at a department store anyway, and when I finally plucked the courage to ask her what she was wearing, she directed me to LVEB L'Absolu. I had tested it once when it first came out last year, I liked it then and I thought it much better and classier than the original but never felt the need to purchase it...now I'm in love and bought a bottle ASAP (I wish it came in a bigger size than 40ml...that's my one and only complaint). I don't think I need to say that the longevity and sillage are both pretty extreme, spray with caution. Best for special occasions, evenings, or just anytime you wish to steal the spotlight and be memorable.

BesidetheShalimar

Does nobody else find patchouli in this? Neither this nor LVEB is gourmand on me at all, but quite floral, 'perfumey'... But, as a hippie scent, I really like this one!

Edit: it has dried down to being edible - candy floss, yumminess, pink girliness... just took a while to get there on me!

Scentmad

I am not a huge fan of LVEB, in fact I don't like it much at all. This, however, is fantastic. I wear it with the LVEB dry oil. It's gourmand, warm vanilla, edible sweet notes a plenty. Delightful.

Alayna1011

Much better than the original LVEB IMO. It lacks that sickening cheap chocolate smell that I detected in the regular version. This is still very sweet, but doesn't come off as cloying to me. VERY intense sillage, one or two sprays will do fine. I kept getting whiffs of it all day. Good longevity too.

Seems like a quality perfume, I do wish it came in larger sizes than just 20 or 40ml though (I only see 40ml on Lancome's USA website?)

Adina Galani

Way way way better than the initial La Vie est Belle. I love this one, it is potent, feminin and elegant. Agree, the ingridients are far superior to any of its previous flankers and it has dairing, much and beautiful, unlike any of the latest Lancome releases. Well done this time! I think is one of the best Lancome fragrances of the 2000s. A release far from being shy, far from giving that closed to skin impression which drives me sick lately with all perfumes. This is a scent which says "I am here, love me or hate me, but make sure U acknowledge my presence what so ever way!" :-)

Bloodlust

I was extremely impressed by LVEB L'absolue! My initial impression was "This smells like the original LVEB, but wrapped up into a lipstick form!"

I would say it still isn't for the faint of heart - this still packs a punch, and I'll probably still smell you from the moon, but this flanker is much more tailored to my perfume preferences.

In comparison to the original LVEB, this smells smoother, rounder - and is clearly lacking the iconic, crunchy patchouli sharpness. The amplified iris & additional woods note is extremely pleasant, giving this composition more of a grounded progression, and less of a jumble. Feels a bit more sophisticated, and also loses that "slightly burnt" base note (or at least that's what I had previously encountered on my skin!)

You can definitely tell these two scents are related, and from the same line - so I wouldn't go into this perfume thinking it's going to be an entirely new, revolutionized scent! Would it make sense to own both? Almost - leaning more towards yes.

Sillage: Less toxic than most other LVEB flankers, but still fairly strong.
Longevity: A good 12+ hours, I woke up smelling the way I fell asleep!

Looking forward to lots of wear!

Beautiful_Scent

I'm not going to compare this to any other perfume or to list what ingredients my nose can or can't detect. I take a deep breath and take it all in.

It is wonderfully beautiful and addictive. It is feminine and comforting. It is dragging people close to you. It is dragging your wrist to your nose.

Unfortunately we are living in a time when we are scared to offend at the cost of not fully enjoying life. But women with high confidence and self-esteem are not extinct. I hope.
Just wear the perfume you love and wear it for yourself. You'll feel beautiful and look beautiful. Then people will like you not necessarily because of your perfume, but because of the transformation in your appearance.

I am disappointed with weak perfumes in shops nowadays.
Of course we have different preferences. But if you didn't enjoy your perfumed youth of the 80s then you lived in vain lol...
I'm half joking here.

The L'Absolu is potent in the most peaceful way.
Life is beautiful

meama

This is a real improvement compared to the ignominy that is the EdT and EdP. Heads notes are really nice, the flowers no longer have a synthetic aspect, the fruits do not seem anymore to get out of a can. Unfortunately perfume still collapses very quickly on an ultra sweet base but rose and iris get to keep everything flows by surviving (hardly) head above sirup (but a natural one this time).
The materials used are clearly superior in quality to the original, but it was very easy given the basic level. It is even a shame to have to wait 2 years to have a normal quality version of the best selling perfume in the world. It's just what the perfume would have to be to its launch.

StellaDiverFlynn

I get a piercing, mineral, almost dust-like note upon the opening of La Vie est Belle L'Absolue. It's very confusing as I just don't where it comes from. But at the same time, it cuts through the decadent sweetness of the LVEB recipe, and the contrast is very appealing.

This piercing note is eventually dies down after about 2 hours. L'Absolue then becomes a deeper and more buttery version of the original LVEB. Putting them side by side, I also find the original appears more fruity than L'Absolue.

The sillage is heavy, but it doesn't suffocate. Instead, I get wafts of L'Absolue coming and going. The longevity is around 11 hours. I enjoy its buttery texture, and because of the odd piercing note, I'm also postively surprised by L'Absolue. However, also due to this strange experience, I'd suggest testing before buying, even if you're an avid LVEB admirer.

LadyPilot

I believe this one is the most bitter, synthetic and aggressive in the whole La Vie Est Belle range. If you are looking for a monster but feel that La Vie Est Belle is too sweet for you, try this one. It's really intensive but not too sweet - like aromatic bitter chocolate that can make you sick but NOT because of sugar.

genny17

Well that monster attracts tonns of compliments!! Must be somewhere in there a wonderful perfume, sweet yes but not Candy sweet, complex with a beautiful sultry Iris note! I love all the la vie est belle versions. I have them all...But this is by far my favorite ..a bold rich scent, perfect for winter! The bottle is real distinctive, so is the scent!! It isn't as sweet as the original, it has a buttery rich Iris undertone..almost like a niche perfume..
Thumbs up to Lancome on this outrageously feminine and gourmand creation!!

Ditta70

OH.MY.GOODNESS.
Smelled it today.

I wish I didn't. Now I need therapy.
Sickly sweet concoction, the smell of which is pardonable if the culprit is a cheap (sugar+synthetic colouing and flavouring agents) candy, but not if it is called perfume.

Once upon a time perfume was used by women to attract men. The only creatures I can possibly imagine being attracted by this monstrosity is nursery school kids. In the absence of the real stuff. (i.e.candy)

If this is the least sweet of the bunch, I really cannot imagine the rest. In fact, I don't even want to.

-15/10

ClaudiaA1

No patchouli? And they threw in rose in the mix? No wonder it is a smoother version! I like this one but the price makes me shy away. On me, it has the same silage and longevity as LVEB edp, so I'll probably purchase it only after I get bored of the original.

duftduft

The best out of the LVEB- Line!!
I generally love sweet scents but I love them even more with a bit of an edge.
L´Absolu is the most powdery, less sweet one. Darker, deeper and absolutely delicious: Cashmere Wood with Praline and Vanilla plus a yummy Pear. All together I think this is more of an Oriental- Floral Fragrance. Pure satisfaction to me!

VJ2

I love La Vie Est Belle and have tried, minus the EDT, all variations of the fragrance and was excited to try this one. After I sprayed and wandered around I realized that a note at the top of the fragrance does not sit well with me. I could not identify it if I tried but it is not pleasant to my nose. That is what will keep me from purchasing this version even if the middle and dry down are to die for. Longevity is killer and it is potent. Oddly, I still have a distinct preference for the original. That fragrance is well done despite various opinions on the "sweetness" factor.

genny17

Absolu is the least sweet of the bunch, it is more floral with a wonderful Iris note! Luxurious, like a niche fragrance..I don't find it bold, or like Flowerbomb at all...this is less gourmand, more complex, but soo so feminine fantastic to wear!! Feminine, warm, rich. To me the best launch so far!!!

Lisa290872

Wow. An impulse purchase for me and whilst it is very feminine and luxurious with that la vie eat belle sweetness, I agree that it is smoother than the Eau de parfum.

Mauerbluemchen

You guys are so funny, reading your comments already made me curious.. let's give it a sniff ;) I wonder if this scent reminds you of flowerbomb extreme.. just wondering

ScarlettX

Deliciously sweet and luxurious at the same time. It's sweetness makes my head spin around.
I love sniffing it, but I think it's actually very difficult to wear it, without suffocating yourself and other people around you. Maybe just one spray a day or even less would be suitable.
The thing about this perfume is, it doesn't leave you emotionless like many others. You either love it or hate it.
Even eating chockolate doesn't seem so sweet to me as sniffing this perfume.
Very comforting and addictive!

Arlene-Beatrix

Sweet candy. I can smell mostly praline on cashmere base, but I like it very much! It is my favorite of La vie est belle line. I agree to the opinion below that this scent is smooth. I think it is very well balanced. Sweet scent can be classy if blended nicely. This one is for a charming, sweet lady.

Update: Firstly it is very potent, but after a while it settles down to be totally charming. I can detect iris note, which adds a lot of elegance to this scent. Praline, cashmere, iris... Sweet luxury in a bottle.

Update2: after final test, I have to admit that top notes are too thick for me, like a thick cashmere sweater. I prefer lighter scents in general.

Hamano_Chiaki

Call me crazy, but I think this is actually the least offensive scent out of the LVEB - line. The others have that sparkly, stingy quality that burns my nose; this one is a lot smoother. To my nose this is also thicker and the sweet notes are more balanced. I also think this has less sillage than the original, which radiates like a nuclear bomb. However LVEB L'Absolu is strong as the name applies, and one spray is all you need. Overall a fuller, smoother version of the original that stays a bit closer to the skin - a new favorite!

lyciumchld

Silage is indeed monstrous with this one. It is very, very high quality. However, as intensely powdery-sweet as the LVEB line is, the intensity is, for me, rather overwhelming. I love my L'Eau de Parfum Légere version, but since even that "light" one is quite loud, in not sure I'll be purchasing this edition. I was very excited to try it out, and I think that it is a gorgeous fragrance. I'm just not sure I can handle it! I'll try it a few more times, though. Regarding the price, I've seen some express concern that it's too expensive. Given the power of the juice, I'd say it's quite reasonably priced, as with only 1 spray per wear (no, really, any more and you may faint or cause a stampede), even the small bottle will last for a very long time.

ForrealMe2

I really love this more than the original because it is so much sweeter like more citrus candy like but that has to be the pair..oh I really love this when my bottle runs out I will be getting this version instead..it's what I would of wanted the original to be..it's perfect to me. Biggest difference is it's less on the iris and praline in my opinion and more on the pair..it's like smelling an orange jolly rancher it's that sweet but not in an annoying way like the first one turned out with the iris really turning it to something else..don't get me wrong I love the original but it has it's moments..this is more stable..I love candy sweet so it fits my bill.

PeachUK

I cannot smell the chocolate in this one, which is present in the other varieties of LVEB.
However, it is very luxurious, sumptious and the iris is very present and heady.
My Boots only had big bottles in and the £70 price tag made me baulk. Had they got a smaller size, I may well have succumbed as it is a very nice perfume but I am not sure I like it THAT much to fork out £70 for it - not at the moment anyway!

auroramaria

Leave this beauty to bloom after initial spray which can be very powdery from the iris.
After about 15 minutes you will be rewarded with the most beautiful fragrance still sweet but in the most elegant way.
Simply gorgeous!!
EDIT@Babygia no aldehydes notes here l'Absolue is just an amped up version of LVEB with emphasis on iris and gourmand notes

Babygia

Fragrantica`s notelist is incomplete here.
It missing the aldehydes, one of the main and leading note in this flanker,i would say - beyond praline and spun sugar the leading theme. It makes the frag sophisticated and much adult to my nose. More mature.
Sillage and longevity monstrous.
Simply delicious.

lcommisso

It's here (USA), and it is Lancôme bonus buy at Macy's so if you're going to snag this, go now! The one by me (Cleveland, OH) only received 4 bottles.

It smells pretty similar, but this is stronger; one spray does go a long way. It also isn't as sweet or as powdery, but it is still sweet being a gourmand. A more mature Belle, I guess. The sales clerk described it as the "winter edition".

Looking at the other posts, I agree the flankers become annoying, but sometimes there's a gem. I like both Shalimar and Shalimar Initial. I like both DKNY Pure and DKNY Pure Verbena. Sometimes it is easier not to treat them like the same fragrance.

Musky4

I tried this a few days ago at Malaga Airport. On first smelling, it didn't seem as sweet as the original LVEB or the other flankers, but much more woody. However, after drying down I found it very similar to the original and just as long-lasting.
I don't own any of the LVEBs and have to admit I wasn't wowed by this, even though I thought I would be. I will try this again and hope to add to my review.

UPDATE: Now that this has just been launched in the UK, I've tried it again and will say this: LVEB L'Absolu is a perfume of exceptional quality and lasting power, that much is obvious. Lancome has clearly done a great job with this creation. It is a beautiful fragrance that I'm sure will be adored by countless women. However, this is the problem I have with it: LVEB and its flankers (including L'Absolu) are just so mainstream and likeable, that for me personally they somewhat lack character. I prefer a perfume with more personality, more edginess and sexiness, more contrast, more mystery... If you are looking for a delicious-smelling perfume with great lasting power and sillage, then this is surely it. However, all the LVEBs are just so super-sweet and 'nice' that they don't really appeal to me. Despite the fact that I think we've all had enough LVEB flankers now (which all smell fairly similar to my nose), I would be intrigued by a 'Noir' version, if they ever make one (which I'm sure they will)...

jonr951

I smelled this one at Macys, and it's very nice! It's pretty much the cashmere wood dipped in the sweetness of LVEB. A woody gourmand I guess you can say. Haha! If I were to own any of the LVEBs, it will be L'Absolu. It's woody goodness. ^_^

auroramaria

I finally tested this absolute beauty! Germany described it really well this is sweet and very creamy with excellent sillage and longevity, it's rich and still gourmand so gorgeous!!
I have a feeling this edition won't be around for too long so I thinkI'll stock up

Germany

This is amazing! It's my favourite of all la vie est belles. I like them all but this is soo creamy and buttery and thicker, I find this one quite sweet , very pleasant and gourmand. I can really smell the tonka as well ...can't wait till it arrives in my local store. Mmm like a praline rose , soooo good! Thanks dear genny17 for the sample !

CozyCat

Alright, I could not resist trying this one in the end, and now I have to say, this just blows all the other versions of LVEB out of the water.

The start is not great and smells like stale candy for awhile (give it 20-30mins), but after that's gone...goodness! This version is as potent as the original and actually PROJECTS until your next shower. It was still going strong on me after 12 hours! On me, it is just as gourmand as well, just as thick, very similar, but smoother than the original, more velvety (the cashmere wood I guess?), rounded around the edges...imagine the texture of soft vanilla fudge. Rose makes a glorious addition to this scent, and iris is amped up in this absolu version (whereas in the original, the floral note I detected more clearly was the orange blossom), I love that, it gives the fragrance a more decadent, luxurious feel. The iris and rose combo gives it a very sensual, buttery 'lipstick' vibe, except this lipstick is a rich Barbie pink hue and made of edible ingredients like praline, vanilla fudge and blackcurrants. I tried one spray of this on a warm night and it's beautiful. The original on the other hand, I would only wear when it's very cold because of the patchouli, as much as I love that one, it can be headache-inducing when worn any other time of the year.

For a pink-candy scent, this is as refined and as sophisticated as it gets, and wearable enough all year round (go easy with it, you don't need more than 2 sprays), I can't repeat this enough, the quality is EXCELLENT, quality-wise, it is better than any mainstream Chanel that has been released (or reformulated) within the past few years (or past decade!) for sure (it completely obliterated any trace of Chanel no5 edp I had generously spritzed on just prior to testing it), and it's better than some of those pricier niche gourmands I've tried which either smell great but don't last, or they last forever but do not smell quite right.

I LOVE it and urge gourmand lovers to atleast give it a try(particularly those who are looking for quality, real quality), do not just dismiss it as another flanker. I immediately bought it in the largest available size, I get the feeling that this version is not going to stick around for long, so grab it while you still can. It may have just been released, but I am already considering stocking up, because we all know that it is always the good stuff, the 'real' perfumes, that get pulled off the shelves too soon or watered down and reformulated.

This new version comes with a syringe of insulin.

Oh my, this is a beautiful fragrance!! Upon smelling it, my husband called it extravagant, sophisticated! It has a niche vibe, no doubt! It isn't as sweet or gourmand as the original, it has a beautiful warm note, I think the iris, then the cashmere, giving it more a creamy edge.
That creamy edge stays throughout, there is a buttery accord in l' Absolu, still it is a gourmand, but a distinctive gourmand, with a floral creaminess. I love all the versions of La vie est belle, but this is the absolute richest .Lancome created a fantastic perfume. Ropion had the magic touch with la vie est belle. Longevity is good, people are telling me I smell beautiful!

Hi!!, I was really gladly surprised when I saw Absolu now available in Madrid, Spain.
As soon as I tested it, definitely I thought, this is a masterpiece.
Is real fantastic, you can detect all notes perfectly mixed, for me has an oriental way.
Is not as gourmand, the patchouli from the regular is not the same.
With presence, personality, real femme, womanly.
In Spain now is really warm and I am wearing it very good, not sharp... Easy to wear.
Iris and Praline are there, but with the new addition of notes, make that the scent goes by itself, distinguished, different. The Cashmere note is very noticeable.
The best edition for me. Real quality, as Lancôme is. Lasting power is perfect.
I am sooo happy with it!!. Is like an addiction.

I have to say guys, that this is something beautiful fragrance!
Today I smelled it at Heinemann shop, and I was suprised! It's not too sweet, but this is perfect! At first it was fruitier than the original La vie est belle, and than it turns into a gorgeous, sweet fragrance, and it has a twist in it,maybe the rose or the cashmere wood?
I have to say I am fall in love with this!
At first Lancome do La vie est belle, which is a beautiful sweet, mature women scent(for me)
And than the Legere version which is much lighter and milky, powdery(because it has no patchouli in it)
And than the Eau de toilette which is a bit different scent it's a magnolia orientated with white flowers and with milky almonds, and now this L'Absolu!
I have to say that, this four perfume is my all time favorite, and I love them all!
The sillage is incredible,on me its 15-20 our!Whoooooa, super
And the bottle is soooo pretty,I love love love it!
I have to say, that it is a beautiful fragrance from Lancome, which follow the LVEB style but a big twist in it!
I love it sooo much, love love love love it!

It doesn't surprise me that L.V.E.B. is churning out All the Flankers since it's Lancomes' Cash COW Right Now!!

La Vie est Cloying ! La Vie est Sticky !

Absolu?? really? The original edp itself is intense and potent enough to be an absolu! even the 'lighter' l'eau/legere version could rival most eau de parfums in the market today with its strength. So why this I wonder?

Enye

I'm so disappointed. 5th version of this? Really? Are they serious? This makes me facedesk. Meh meh meh. Well I at least hope that this will smell nice. But I'm so bored of these LVEB -versions already.
